{Job 33:4}

For with Thee is the fountain of life:

In Thy Light we shall see light

{Psalm 35(36):9}

…I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life…

{John 14:6}

…And this is the everlasting life that they may know You,

the only One True God,

and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent…

{John 17:3}

If the one desires to summarize the essence of human life, he could envision a life of man as the life of reason–intelligence–understanding – the mind.

The mind lives by knowledge: it perceives–accumulates–consumes–creates–disseminates–shares (or hides) knowledge.

Knowledge is the substance of the mind, the meaning of life, the food and the results–fruits of the mind’s existence: knowledge defines the nature of man.

What is knowledge?

The one could infer the most complete definition of knowledge

– in the times of The Old Testament – from the Book of Job {Job 32:8; 33:4}

– in the times of the New Testament – from the Gospel According to John and Epistle of St. Peter the Apostle {John 17:3; 2 Peter 1:2–11}.

Presumably, the Book of Job was written more than 4000 years ago, in the twenty–first or twentieth century BC., about the time of Abraham, at least seven centuries before revelation of the Law given through Moses.

So, what people of the remote Past knew about the nature of man and the nature of knowledge?

The young man – Elius the son of Barachiel, one of those who came to comfort Job during his trial, said remarkable words: it is not time that speaks, although men imagine presence of wisdom in many years; there is a spirit in the mortal one, and the breath of the Almighty teaches him. And again: the Spirit of God is that Who formed me, the breath of the Almighty is that teaches me {Job 32:8; 33:4}. All this with understanding that man is formed out of clay {Job 33:6} – γη, the temporarily structured matter, as Isaiah the prophet also wrote thirteen centuries later, in eighths century BC {Isaiah 45:9; 64:8}.

Hence, 4000 years ago, Elius knew the nature of man and the nature of knowledge: both are creations of God the Almighty Whose Spirit formed man and teaches him. The Spirit of God creates and sustains both facets of life –

1/ life of the reasoning, intelligence, intellect, understanding – all that is called the mind

[[and all that is created→empowered←taught by πνοη δε  Παντοκρατορος  – breath of the Almighty God]]

and

2/ life of a human body that carries the spirit given by God the Spirit

[[formed by Πνευμα  Θειον  – the Spirit of God

and living by πνοη δε  Παντοκρατορος:  the Divine Energy – breath of God]]

within the world of the material things

In the times of Job, the wise ones knew that the Spirit of God is that Who formed man, the breath of the Almighty is that teaches man.

Hence, the one could infer that

–– the mind lives by the Divine energy of the Almighty God – πνοη δε  Παντοκρατορος  – referred to as breath of life {Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4}

–– the Divine origin defines and sustains the uniqueness, individuality, and dignity of man created in image of God and likeness to dominate, toil, cherish the world given by God to His creation {Genesis 1:26–28; 2}

–– life of mind is creation of thoughts

–– creation of thoughts is embodiment of the Divine energy into knowledge

–– knowledge is the Divine energy embodied into thoughts of man

–– knowledge is substance and essence of the mind and power to act according to the thoughts–plans–devices created by the mind

–– process of creation is the process of embodiment of the Divine energy received from God into all that is the meaning of human life – thoughts–knowledge and material things with which human being sustains own existence.

Hence, the story of Job reveals that even before beginning of human civilization initiated by revelation of the Law – The Ten Commandment, the human mind was empowered to understand that the essence of human life is the Spirit of God, and – as soon as man is taught by God – the essence of Truth and human knowledge of Truth is knowledge of God.

Job accomplished the purpose set before the Old Testament’s man: he understood that the highest wisdom is in adherence to God and observance of His commandments, which all are about the good–life that is not compatible with the evil–death. Consequently, Job inferred that abstaining from the evil is the essence of human comprehension. Furthermore, Job’s behavior was consistent with his understanding and with verbal expression of his beliefs. God rewarded him for the steadfast faith, adherence to God, and keeping sanity during the worst time of his trials. It is written that Job will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up {Job 42:7–17}.

After Job and Moses, generations of men formed by the Spirit of God and lived by the breath of God –– knowledge of the unlimited mercy and perfect love of God –– passed through the face of earth leaving to their offspring the precious legacy:

– understanding that to be firmly established in God is the entire righteousness and to contemplate His power is the root of immortality {Wisdom 15:3}

– the purpose: to be prepared for the meeting with the Messiah.

This purpose was accomplished when the chosen ones accepted revelation of the Word–God Who gave human beings

– the knowledge that is the everlasting life

– the authority and courage to know that they are the sons of the Light – the ones who live by the Spirit of God Who they are empowered to call Father and that their destiny is to form the elect race of the people of God: the sons–servants–slaves–priests of the Almighty God {John 10:1–18, 25–30; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 2:9–10; 1 John; Ephesians, Colossians; Galatians; 1 Thessalonians 5:4–11; Revelation 22:1–5}.

The destiny of the people of the New Testament is easier that the destiny of the people of the Old Testament: God made the straightway for the Christians leading them to His kingdom – their city of habitation, the House of God {Psalm 106(107):7; Isaiah 42:16; John 10:1–18; 14:1–3; 17:24–26}. For them, God turned darkness into the light, because the Light of God came revealing the mercy and grace of God and we, the Christians, have met and recognized our Savior and Redeemer – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word of the Almighty God the Father.

Now the purpose of a Christian is to live according to His words–commandments, so his mind would obtain the highest wisdom that those who live on the earth may be empowered to obtain: to accept the Love of God and the live–giving Truth – the Son of God, the Word–God, to evolve into the likeness of the Word–God by observing His commandments, to become the carrier of the Holy Spirit – the temple of the Living God, the firstfruit of new creations whom God created for the eternity in His kingdom {Matthew 5; 6; 7; 22:36–40; 25:31–46; Mark 4; 12:28–34; Luke 6:17–49; John; James 1:16–18; 1 Peter 1; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 John; Colossians; Ephesians; Revelation 22:1–5}.

Hence, the Christians perceive Lord Jesus Christ as the completeness of perfection: the Holy Wisdom, the Perfect Love of God the Father, and Omnipotent Authority. By the grace – mercy and love – of God, they are sanctified by Truth: by the Word–God Who empowers them to live by the Holy Spirit and to be taught by God {John 1:1–18; 14; 15; 16; 17}. As St. Peter the Apostle explains {2 Peter 1:2–11}, through the complete knowledge of God, a human being receives everything needed for life, godliness, and evolution–preparation for the eternity {in: John 17}: through the knowledge of God, the mind obtains the energy of life and the power to evolve for the eternity.

In summary,

a/ the knowledge of life is embodiment of the eternal Divine life–giving and life–sustaining energy issuing from God

b/ the purpose of life at the earth is development → evolution/preparation for the next phase of existence: the eternity with God

c/ the one accomplishes this purpose because he receives the Divine energy of God by which he thinks and lives.

How then, those who have rejected God, who do not know the only One True God, and who believe that there is no God, live? They speak, act, procreate, and even create – write books, make discoveries, build cities, invent technical gadgets; they make charitable contributions, perform public service, wage wars, fly into Space, and do many other things that comprise the meaning of social, business, and political life of the contemporary societies. Apparently, they are alive; seemingly they do whatever they want. What then, is the substance and essence of their life, how the mind separated from God lives, what makes the difference between two men: the one who lives by God and the one who lives without God, if seemingly, both of them have their share of happiness, grief, suffering, diseases, and both of them have the same end – eventually, they die. So, what is the actual difference between them?

Those who do not live by God – do not have place for the Word–God within them {John 8:34–47} – live by something else, not by the Divine energy of God. The hint to understanding is in the texts of the Holy Scriptures, in which God refers to them as to those who hear, yet, do not understand, see by eyes, yet do not perceive: their heart became gross, and they are not able to understand and to turn to God and to be healed {Isaiah 6:9–10; John 12:39–50}. In Psalms {Psalm 113(114):4–8; 134(135):15–18}, the idol–worshipers are equated to their dead deities: they would become as the dead stones/wood, from which their idols are made; they have years, yet do not hear, eyes, yet they do not see.

God is the Spirit Who seeks the ones worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth {John 4:23–24}. Therefore, the actual life of man created in image of God and likeness is at the level of spirit–heart–mind {a man of the hidden heart, the inner/spiritual man that carries the likeness of God from the Heavens – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God James 1:18–25; 1 Peter 3:4; 1 John 3:1–2; 1 Corinthians 15:45–58; 2 Corinthians 4:16}. Then, the material world and all its components are perceived and evaluated by their correlation with and significance for the purposes of evolution–preparation for the next phase of existence – the everlasting life in the presence of God.

Consequently, the substance and meaning of life of those who do not live by God are different: they live by the images and figments of own imagination: reflections of the temporary arranged matter – material things. However, the heart–mind is not the source of the energy of life: it lives by the Divine energy coming from God. Thus, the heart–mind of the one who has no place for God within becomes the withered – dead one, as the fruitless withered branch cut of the Vine {John 15:1–6}.

Hence, the end of the mind focused on the world of the material things differs from the end of the mind focused on God:

–– the mind focused on God comes to God

–– the mind focused on the dissipating world of the material things perishes in the eternal darkness of separation from God.

The knowledge by which the mind lives defines the final destiny of man:

the everlasting life is given through knowledge of God

the eternal death is knowledge that is not of God

By the very knowledge the mind lives, it determines own end at the earth:

either the passage into the everlasting life

or the collapse of reason that culminates in death of the reason

The Security/Welfare of the World

The multitude of the wise is security/welfare of the world

{Wisdom 6:24}

It is said:  Πληθος δε σοφων σωτηρια κοσμου {Wisdom 6:24} – the multitude of the wise is security/welfare of the world [[word σωτηρια conveys meanings of security, welfare, safety, salvation, deliverance, guarantee]]: the Book of Wisdom links the multitude of the wise ones with the good for the world – welfare, security, salvation, deliverance, assurance of the good.

Why the wise ones are different from all the others, so, if there are many of them, the world is saved, secure, good?

To answer this question, the one should know

1/ what is wisdom and how to find it even now, although the very word wisdom is almost forgotten?

For instance, there are not many mentions of wisdom in daily news, official language of political, commercial, educational, and research institutions, social media, and other sources of information and knowledge that form the contents of the cohesive power – the flow of information and knowledge, by which the societies nations world live and which sustains wholeness life of societies nations world and other institutions–establishments–systems. Then, the results–fruits–daily lives/realities of families, societies, nations/states, entire mankind are filled with crimes, deceit, hatred, misery, and suffering: there is no trace of wisdom in the daily life of the many

2/ what does it mean σωτηρια – welfare–security–safety–assurance of the good in the world shaped by incessant wars waged for the sake of obtaining advantages and resources even for such price as deceit, impoverishment, enslaving, and murder of the many? Could any kind of welfare–security–safety–assurance of the good ever exist in the world–arena of permanent fight, in which different groups of people divided by different beliefs–purposes–ways of life exterminate each other in complete compliance with the ideals of the social Darwinism, blood–thirsty religions, and insane plans/devices of their rulers?

3/ why presence of the wise ones and welfare–prosperity–salvation–security of the world are linked together?

In brief, wisdom is the special power*1* – the power to survive and to evolve: to obtain the highest creative potency of the mind and to exercise it by arranging optimal conditions for

a/ happy and healthy and prosperous life for the people societies nations world

b/ preparation for the next phase of existence – the life everlasting in the presence of God.

Among all creations of men, only civilization, as a main subsystem of the world–reality of mankind, has the adequate level of complexity to reveal the meaning of wisdom and the consequences of its absence at all levels of human life.

In general, the one might envision the essence of a civilization*2* as the set of patterns according to which the mind creates–learns–absorbs–accumulates–dissiminates–conceals–transmit–accepts knowledge and makes it the foundation–framework for its devices–plans–strategies. Then, knowledge embodied into systems and arrangement of the material things constitutes not only the material basis of civilization; this knowledge also

a/ reveals condition of the mind: either the level of complexity within the realm of evolution or the degree of degeneration within the realm of anti–evolution*3*

b/ determines the levels of complexity*4* of the mind creations, therefore, identifies either potency or non–adequacy/failure to achieve the purposes for the sake of which the mind has created/arranged them

c/ discloses the destiny of the mind–creator and the establishments/systems created by the mind to sustain existence of all components unified into the civilization.

Therefore, the one might describe a civilization as the realm/reality sustained by the particular cohesive power/flow of information and knowledge that makes possible actualization and existence of the unity of three components:

the complete entirety of the creations–embodiments of a particular set of the patterns

of knowledge creation–learning–accumulation–tranmittion–dissemination–embodiment

the means, methods, and reserves the mind employs to embody knowledge

into making of the material things, arrangement and creation of systems/establishments

the interactive––correlated––interconnected––mutually defining–controlling–enhancing  sets

of societies, states, government, political, social, religious, educational, research establishments and institutions,

systems of defense and expansion, and other components of the wholeness that is a civilization

By giving knowledge of Himself and of His law, God initiated development of the human civilization: the realm of the mind that lives by knowledge of only One True God and His law and that creates knowledge how to embody–materialize the knowledge of the law of God into thoughts, words, actions, and arrangement of establishments, with which this mind sustains own existence, accomplishes own purposes, and evolves for the eternity with God. Establishment of the human civilization based upon knowledge of the only One True God and His law/words {John 17; Matthew 22:36–40} completed the process of division and separation of knowledge accumulated by mankind into two general frameworks*5*.

1/ The first framework accommodates knowledge of God and His law given by God Himself; it is rooted in the memories of the lost Paradise where the first men lived in the presence of God; it was kept by the Keepers of knowledge – one of them was revealed as Melchizedek*6*, the priest of the Most High Almighty God; it was known by Job and sustained his sanity during his trials; it came as the Light and Fire from darkness when God gave to Moses the knowledge of Him and His law; it was the knowledge of the Hebrew prophets and the messengers whom God sent to create the path for the Word–God; it is given as the knowledge that is the everlasting life bestowed by Lord Jesus Christ onto His disciples and onto all who were, are, and will be blessed to have the greatest gift of God – the Christian teachings for becoming the people of God {Genesis; Exodus; Deuteronomy; Job; Matthew; Mark; Luke; John; Acts; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John}.

2/ The second framework accommodates knowledge that is not of God and that is not about God. This knowledge is amassed by the minds that, since the Babylonian confusion, were not focused on God; they died and continue to die through figments of own imagination. The roots of this knowledge are in myths created by the first generations of men, to whom Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesized concerning judgment for the ungodly ones who spoke against God. Their spiritual descendents who would live in the last times are portrayed as the mockers who deny God, as the proud and corrupted ones who set themselves apart, live ungodly life, and who are animal–like having no Spirit in them {Jude 4–19}.

The words of God conveyed by the Holy Scriptures allow identification of the source of the second framework:

a/ after Lord God Jesus Christ told His disciples {Matthew 16:21–26} that it is necessary for Him to go into Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders, chief–priests, and scribes, and to be killed and to be raised in the third day, Peter attempted to convince Him to be gracious and merciful to Himself, so this would never happen to Him. The Lord turned to Peter and referring to him as to “Satan” (the arch–evil) ordered him to go behind, because he is an offense (σκανδαλον) to Him: he (Peter) thinks the things of men, not things of God

b/ “the evil and adulterous generation,” which was mentioned by Lord Jesus Christ, are those who have no place for the words of God within them, those who do not love the Word–God, who are not able to hear the words of God: the murderers of the righteous men and prophets sent by God, the likeness of the arch–enemy that was the murderer of men from the beginning, the hypocrites, evil and devoid of reason “blind guides” who lead the ignorant (“blind”) people incapable of comprehension the truth into the pit; they are children of fornication born not of God; they are the children of the arch–evil that is the father of lies and murderer from the beginning; as everything that is not planted by God, they will be uprooted {in: Matthew 12:34; 15:12–14; 16:1–4; 23:1–35; Mark 8:38; John 7:25–26, 30, 44–49; 8:37–47; 9:39–41}

c/ the Apostles {Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:29–30; Jude 8, 12–13; 2 Peter 2:1–3, 12–19} write about the uprooted, the dreaming ones (ενυπνιαζομενοι) – visionaries or dreamers who live by imagination, false prophets, false teachers, the wolves in sheep clothing. They live in sin, yet, allure the others; they speak by the lusts of their flesh and promise freedom while they themselves are the slaves of corruption/decay. In this context, the meaning of sin receives a new interpretation: sin is the state of ignorance – the lack of comprehension {for which God promised to reject, punish, and forget the priests of Israel –– Hosea 4:6–10} coupled with uncontrolled imagination*7*. The ignorant and dreaming mind produces false knowledge resulting in failure to accomplish the main mission of man: fulfillment of the Law/will of God

d/ the mind has the only choice: either God or His enemy {cf.: Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13; John 8:31–47}, because all, that is not of God, serves the arch–evil and belongs to the arch–evil.

Therefore, the source of the second framework is the arch–evil, which God names ανθρωποκτονος*8* – the murderer of man from the beginning {John 8:44}, and which, even today, still is worshiped by the heathens and apostates {Exodus 34:11–16; Leviticus 20; 26; Deuteronomy 9:5–6; 32:16–18, 31–33; 1 Peter 4:3–7; Romans 1:18–32} whose life is based on different derivatives of the doctrine of serpent–worshipers – the Orphism*9* embodied into religious, philosophical, political, social and other doctrines, ideas, establishments, institutions.

 The Holy Scriptures refer to the knowledge of the heathens as to the wine produced by the vine of Sodom that carries the rage of serpents and incurable rage of asps {θυμος δρακοντων ο οινος αυτων, και θυμος ασπιδων ανιατος – Deuteronomy 32:33}, as to the lethal poison of asps and vipers {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 32:16–33; Psalm 90(91):13; 139(140):3; Isaiah 59:2–5; Romans 3:13–14}.

Hence, the second framework of knowledge accommodates knowledge of the heathens*9* who

create own dead*10* gods–idols from the images and material things

live by their material gods–idols, which are made by their minds and their hands

from the dissipating temporary arranged matter and imagined–created with the images of the material world,

and by which their mind live

perish along with their dead gods–idols*11*

These two frameworks of knowledge are mutually exclusive and incompatible {e.g., in: 1 Corinthians 3:16–20, 23; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; Galatians 2:20; 3:26; 4:4–10; 5; 6; Ephesians 2; 4; 5; Colossians 1; 2:6–23; 3}, because

–– one of them – based on the knowledge of God and His law – sustains life at the earth and evolution for the next phase of existence

–– another – based on creations of the mind deprived of knowledge of God – accommodates degeneration, collapse, and death at the earth and prepares for the eternal death/separation from God in the next phase of existence.

In particular,

1 through the knowledge of God, the mind receives the Divine energy and power to live, to evolve, to accomplish the purposes of own existence, to sustain and to lead the world given into its dominion toward evolution {2 Peter 1:2–11}.

The following chart depicts the main components/essence of the first framework

G o d

          Faith ←→ Wisdom

         ↓              ↓

          Freedom ←→ Knowledge

   ↓                 ↓

Invincibility ←→ Evolution

                       ↓                    ↓

                                   Survival @ the earth          Life everlasting in the presence of God

2  the knowledge that constitutes the second framework is knowledge created by the mind deprived of the Divine energy of live and consequently, operating at inadequate complexity levels: such a mind is incapable of creation adequate–true knowledge of its world, its nature, and the nature of things, with which it attempts to sustain life – own as well as of the world that accommodates its existence.

The following chart depicts the main components/essence of the second framework

the arch–evil

false knowledge

[[e.g., Orphism, heathenism, heathen philosophy, idol–worship, ethics–free sciences]]

[[especially, because of sin and violations of the law of God]]

Those who live by knowledge created within the second – heathen – knowledge framework, by knowledge that is not from the only One True God and is not about the only One True God, have neither chance to obtain wisdom nor a possibility to answer the questions listed above. All heathen civilizations created within the second knowledge framework collapsed and perished: there is no reason to seek wisdom in them.

The current Western civilization began with acceptance of Christianity by the heathen Roman Empire and then, other European countries. After the Great Schism, the Western civilization gradually descended under the authority of the papal church of Rome*12*, which

initiated Crusades

created the inquisition

substituted heathen – Aristotle–Aquinas’ – political theology for the Christian teachings

made the Bible forbidden book for the laity,

and deprived the laity from the Communion according to the tradition*13*

established by Lord God Jesus Christ Himself

persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, and exterminated

[[usually, burned alive]]

heretics and the different–minded ones

in its lust for the world–wide power, waged religious wars,

practiced forceful conversion of the Jews and persecution of the different–minded

embraced Fascism and Nazism and now is coming closer and closer to Marxism and Socialism

now is plagued with the world–wide scandals because of corruption in all spheres of its activities

and is spending accumulated during centuries wealth on neutralizing the consequences of the world–wide scandals,

for instance, on settlements with victims of “priests” – pedophiles, sexual predators, and perverts

promotes globalization, unification with other faiths, and eradication of Christianity

through the ecumenical movement*14*

Moreover, because of the papal pretense to speak on behalf of the entire Christendom, although his religious establishment is not the Christian Church, many people began to identify Catholicism as Christianity.

Because of the simple truth that faith is revealed and judged by the deeds of the faithful ones [[in this case, by the Catholics – papal subjects]], those who believe that 1/ the pope speaks on behalf of Christian God and 2/ Catholicism is Christianity, have lost faith: they mock and reject Christian teachings, and either choose atheism or accept non–Christian religions.

Ultimately, the Western civilization

a/ has lost all characteristics, which could link it to the Christian civilization

b/entered the state of irreversible collapse, because

it forfeited knowledge of God and rejected the law of God

instead of the Christian Truth,

it accepted heathen philosophical doctrines,

which Plato and Aristotle the slave–owners derived from the Orphic doctrine

and myths about non–existing deities – figments of the corrupted imagination

it has forfeited the Absolute Good of the only One True God,

and became unable to obtain, to have, to hold, and to give to the others the good of men

it lost virtues, ideals, and purposes

it has no power to survive

it is reduced to groups of the godless and corrupted nations

that now are in a process of assimilation by the enemies

that come into their lands depopulated because of their sins, crimes, abortions, diseases, and other consequences

of the false knowledge that is the foundation of their politics, sciences, education, and entire daily life

In summary, the majority of the people living in the countries traditionally identified as the part of the Western civilization, as well as in many other lands and nations, has no peace nor security nor prosperous healthy and abundant life nor any good.

The lands that accommodate other civilizations – Middle East, Africa, Asia, became the places for incessant bloodshed, wars, religious and other discontent, unrest, fratricidal conflicts and unhealthy competition for the domination by the world already ravaged with poverty, plagues, pollution, and evils of all imaginable kinds.

All these grim realities are in complete compliance with the warnings conveyed through Moses {Exodus 34:11–16; Leviticus 20; 26; Deuteronomy 9:5–6; 28; 29; 30; 32} concerning destiny of apostates and idol–worshipers.

However, unknown by many, the Christian civilization exists and accomplishes its purposes: preparation of the people for the next phase of existence – the eternity with God.

The Christian civilization has no attributes of the usual human establishments: there are no states, no boundaries, no armies, no nuclear missiles, no governments, no other institutions and material things, which identify and describe other/heathen civilizations.

Since its commencement – the days when the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, granted to His disciples the Christian teachings – the knowledge of the only One True God and Jesus Christ Whom He sent, the Christian civilization lives and evolves as the spiritual realm: invincible, indestructible, and inaccessible by enemies.

The one could envision the Christian civilization as the net of the minds focused on God, living by love to God and according to the commandments–law of God.  The structure of this civilization–net is simple:

God the Creator

the creation of God – human mind –

made in image of God and likeness

the creations of the human mind

focused on God living by energy of God operating by the power of God

that are given by the Holy Spirit through the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ

However, this simplicity sustains invincibility: nothing and none is able to intervene in the spiritual realm {1 Peter 1; 2; 2 Peter; 1 John; Romans 8}, in which

–– God and His creation are unified with love, wisdom, and immortality

–– the human mind lives by the Divine energy and thinks–creates by the Divine power–wisdom given by God {John; 1 John}.

The Christian civilization is the earthly part of the Kingdom of God, the spiritual realm, which God shares with His chosen ones born from above – those who believe in Him, love Him by observing His commandments, live by Him, follow Him, and die for Him on the earth only to be resurrected in the new world where there is no death, suffering, evil {John 1:1–18; 3:3–21, 36; 6:28–59; 8:47; 10:1–18, 27–30; 11:25–26; 12:44–50; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; Revelation 21:6–8; 22:1–5, 13–15}.

The foundation of the Christian civilization is not in the material things, and it is not in possession by the earthly riches, reserves, and resources; the people of this civilization live by wisdom – power given by the Holy Spirit and because of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God. The Source–Core–Universal Code of the Christian civilization is Λογος/Αγια Σοφια, the Word–God, and each mind, the node of the net that is the Christian civilization, carries within the entire civilization: the Kingdom of God similarly to the small seed that carries within the mighty tree {Matthew 13:1–43; Mark 4:26–32; Luke 8:4–15; 17:20-21; John 1:1–5; 14:6–28; 15; 16:7–16; 17; 1 John}. The mind that belongs to Christian civilization is the temple of the Holy Spirit; as the river carrying living water {John 2:19–22; 7:37–39; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 6:16–18; Ephesians 2:13–22}, it transfers the Divine energy of God into the world by embodying the knowledge and wisdom given by the Word–God and the Holy Spirit into its own daily life and into its creations.

In general, at the practical level, the one could infer that the Christian civilization – the Kingdom of God at the earth – has the following attributes

a/ the purpose: accomplishment of the will/law of God

b/ the cohesive power that sustains its wholeness–life: knowledge of the Perfect Love of God

c/ the universal language – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια, the Word–God.

d/ the essence: unity of knowledge, potency, and power to create the good, for instance,

            – the potency to comprehend the knowledge of God and the power [[wisdom]] to live by it

            – the potency to create knowledge [[e.g., the plans, strategies, codes of the optimal systems]] that serve survival and evolution of men

            – the power to embody knowledge of the law of God into material things–arrangements–establishments–systems.

Hence, the basis of the Christian civilization cannot be in buildings, cities, armies, weapons, etc.

If to define material basis of a civilization as a possibility to embody knowledge into arrangements of the structured matter [[e.g., manufacturing of goods, arrangement of states, societies, other establishments, systems]], the one could envision the material basis–earthly part, of the Christian civilization as the human potency to create knowledge that can be embodied into arrangements of the material structures – material things and establishments, institutions, systems, which would serve the good of men:

survival

development

evolution for the next phase of existence

From such a point of view, the earth might be seen as the training ground on which the servants of God a/ are taught to comprehend and to accomplish the will/law of God the Creator and b/ are tested by their deeds {cf.: Matthew 25:14–30; John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 Corinthians 3:11–15; Job 7:1}.

After Job’s quest for finding the place of wisdom {Job 28} not many have found wisdom, perhaps, because the main direction of their search was the material world, in which wisdom is seen as a practical commodity measured by acquired riches, access to the power of coercion, authority over the others, and by other tangible attributes of the worldly powers. In other words, even if they assume that wisdom exists, they simplify the world created by God through His Wisdom {John 1:1–4; 7:22–29}, because they have no adequate knowledge of it. Subsequently, they perceive wisdom as the material attribute of the world of the material things: they disregard the Source – beginning of wisdom, and accept the end – material things, as all that exists.

To the contrary, a Christian knows that Wisdom is the Spirit Who proceeds from the Father, the Almighty Power through Whom God creates His works {John 1:1–4; 4:24; 5:17; 10:30; 14; 15; 16:13–16; Zacharias 4:6; Wisdom 1:6; 7:7, 22–30; 8:1; 9:9–1; Ephesians 1}. Consequently, for a Christian, the search and obtaining wisdom is the natural process – the life of his spirit*16*, from where the wisdom given to him by God {John 14; 15; 17; 17; Wisdom 8:7–29} could shape the world of the material things.

In other words, according to the human nature and to the nature of wisdom, a Christian

obtains wisdom from God the Creator

is empowered to accomplish the purpose of his life – creation of the maximal good according to the will of God,

for the sake of which God gives him knowledge and wisdom

creates the good for the world by embodying his knowledge into the material things

that serve survival and development of the word

[[e.g., by optimization of arrangements, structures, and other features

of establishments and other systems in the sphere of his influence]]

The measure of the good that a Christian brings into the world is defined by the personal freedom and other conditions of his early life.

For instance, in the countries where Christianity is either forbidden or only conditionally tolerated, there is not much a Christian is able to do, besides the personal life: he can be kind to his personal enemies, to forgive those who persecute him and his family, yet he is not empowered to influence social and other aspects of the society–system, in which he has to live. However, his work is also evaluated adequately {Matthew 5:38–48; 25:31–46}:  the one who assisted his enemy to raise a donkey that has fallen under the burden {Exodus 23:5} and the one who has offered a cup of water and loaf of bread to a thirsty and hungry traveler, even if the traveler does not accept water and bread from a “dirty Christian”/“cursed Nazarene,”  – both of them have fulfilled the law of love.

The Christian civilization is the only realm where Wisdom dwells with the people and where the answers on the listed above questions can be found.

For the beginning, the one could assume that Wisdom – the Power by Whom the universe was created and lives, has different manifestations at different levels of complexity – in different realms, systems, human establishments, and so on.

For instance, if to consider a human life as the wholeness, which is revealed at three levels: body – mind – spirit, the one could infer that wisdom has different features at each one of the levels of this wholeness.

In particular, life of a body, or physical existence, should result in development of the optimal potency to create the good and to alleviate insufficiency and suffering of the others. The meaning of optimum for a particular human being is determined by the past {the deeds of the ancestors – Exodus 20:5–6; 34:6–7; John 9:1–41} and the present (own thoughts, words, and deeds). At this level, the one may identify the presence/absence of wisdom, essence of faith, the degree of development or degeneration of the mind, and the overall focus of the spirit of the others through their words and deeds {Matthew 7:1–27; 12:35–37; 25:31–46; John 14:12–15; James 1:21–25; 2:14–26; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John 3:16–18}. The degree of development of the optimum and its final parameters could be determined through the abilities, the achieved/failed purposes, conditions, circumstances, and arrangements of daily life, in which a human being has to live, to consummate his time–range, to exercise his free will, to interact with the others, to use the resources allotted for his earthly existence.

The focus of the one’s mind might be inferred through the one’s understanding/reasoning: the mature mind focused on God should have developed abilities to discern the good and the evil and to choose the good, so, it would be capable of finding and claiming the road to God, into the everlasting life.

Some do not believe in existence of the spiritual life: for them, a human being is a spiritless animal

            a/ whose life is consuming of the material things procreation disintegration/death

            b/ who lives by material, practicable tangible values ascribing the greatest good to the thing that are most desirable by the others

            c/ whose mind is the function of the matter.

For a Christian, the meaning of life is life of the human spirit devoted to God: God is the Spirit and He seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth – by the Word–God and in the Holy Spirit {John 1:1–18; 3:13; 4:23–24; 14:6–28; 15; 16:7–16; 17; 1 John 5:1–12}.

Hence, St. James, St. Peter, St. John, and St. Paul the Apostles envision a human being as {James 1:18–25; 1 Peter 3:4; 1 John 3:1–2; 1 Corinthians 3:9; 15:45–58; 2 Corinthians 4:16}:

a/ the firstfruit of creations of God born by the Word of Truth: a spiritual man that carries the likeness of God from the Heavens – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται – day by day [[for preparation for the eternity]], while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed preparing to descent into the dust, from which it was taken, and to release the spirit that shall return to God Who gave it

b/ man of the hidden heart (the inner man) – the incorruptible quiet and meek spirit that is of great value before God

c/ God’s field, God’s construction–building, and the space for the works of God.

Hence, wisdom, by which the wholeness – a human being, creation of God, lives within the world of the material things, should manifest itself also at three levels:

wisdom of the mind

wisdom of a person empowered to survive and to evolve–prepare himself for the next phase of existence

wisdom of a human being–creator of the material things and systems,

with which he sustains own life and shapes life of the world given into his dominion

Hence, the one could speak of

wisdom of thoughts

wisdom of an individual’s life

wisdom of a creator of establishments/systems,

with which he creates the good and sustains life and evolution of his world:

family society nation

At each on these levels, wisdom secures survival and evolution of a spiritual man – the human essence/inner man who is immortal, even if his body has to pass through physical death {John 11:25–26} – would it be his murder because of his faith in Lord Jesus Christ, “natural” death (age, disease), accident, war, or any other reason.

According to the Holy Scriptures {Psalm 110(111):10; Proverbs 1:7; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14; Wisdom 1:4–16}, the beginning of wisdom is fear of God – the fear to violate His law [[the essence of which is Perfect Love without fear and suffering, and fulfillment of which is love {Matthew 22:36–40; John 13:34–35; 14; 15; 17; 1 John 4:7–21; Romans 13:10}]]. Wisdom does not enter the malicious soul, and any violation of the law of love is sin*17* against God and against own nature. The sin, if unhealed, transforms a human being into the slave of the arch–evil and casts him into the darkness of eternal death–separation from God {John 8:31–47; 3:16–21; 1 John 3; Isaiah 59:1–3}.

Then, the multitude of the wise ones is the multitude of those

who have fear of God – the fear to violate the law of God

[[such fear is the beginning of wisdom {in: Psalm 110(111):10; Proverbs 1:7; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14}]]

who live by the spiritual values, which begin with love to God and culminate in love to the others

Who, in all their activities, pursue the good – abundant healthy prosperous – life for themselves

and for all the others, speak and act with dignity, respect to the others, and consideration of the others’ good

who do to the others that they want to be done to them

{Luke 6:31}

Consequently, σωτηρια – welfare–security–safety–assurance of the good of the world might be defined as the state of compliance with the law of God: the state in which the Absolute Good of God becomes the absolute good of men. At the practical level, this state might be seen as the synergy of knowledge and the power to create the good with conditions needed to accomplish the good purposes

a/ with the minimal resources

b/ in lesser time

c/ with the utmost good for the others.

From such a point of view, security/welfare of the world

begins with observance of the law of God – The Ten Commandments

observance of The Ten Commandments prevents crimes, hatred, revenge,

and other reasons for discontent, conflict, and unrest at all levels of the human hierarchies:

social, political, religious, others

life without crimes, discontent, and unrest allows utilization of all available resources for improvement of life,

secure and peaceful way of existence, which provides the optimal opportunities for development and evolution

And I think that for the wise ones, there could be many ways to influence life of the world, for instance,

–– to optimize structures of social and political establishments

–– re–orient politics, social norms and practices, education and research, shifting focus from the questionable benefits of the establishments to the actual good of persons

–– to find cure for diseases without extermination of millions of laboratory rodents and other victims of contemporary bio–sciences, which attempt to heal humans with remedies developed on genetically modified rodents, and, consequently, fail to eradicate plagues and diseases that became the loyal companions of mankind

–– to arrange the invincible systems of defense, impenetrable cyber nets

–– and so on.

However, wisdom is not only in giving out the good and the holy – there is neither place for the good and the holy nor capacity of the good and the holy in the wicked and evil ones: whatever good and whichever material riches the one gives to a beast, the beast’s nature remains the same, and pigs trample with their feet the most precious pearls {Matthew 7:6}.

It means that there also should be the adequate recipients – those who would have power to accept the greatest gifts of wisdom and to use them for own good and for the good of their families societies  nations  world.

Then, the one may infer that the most simple and efficient way to build the secure and prosperous world would begin with arrangement of personal, family, and social life according to The Ten Commandments. Subsequently, welfare/security of the world may become the actuality of the multitudes.

Notes:

*1* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God. This power is given by the Holy Spirit Who comes because of the Word–God, the Holy Wisdom of God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια – to the one who has faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, who loves God, who accepted the knowledge of God, and who proved his love to God with observance of His commandments and with the deeds of good {John 14:14–26; 15:10–17; 17; 1 John 3; 4}.

In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, St. Paul the Apostle writes of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind of those who just/exactly follow the reasoning of Christ {δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν – 1 Corinthians 2:15–16}.

The Book of Wisdom defines wisdom as the breath of the power of God, the brightness of the light, the essence of everything – the almighty creative power that sustains and makes everything anew, mightily reaches all to the ends, and governs everything benevolently; as the flow of the absolute Glory of the Almighty; as the image of the Absolute Good of God; as the pure mirror of the energy of God {Wisdom 7:25–27}.

Hence, wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

From the practical point of view, wisdom is comprehension of the Law of God and the subsequent ability/state of being empowered to observe the Law: to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law of God into the daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

At the level of the human mind, wisdom is the power that enables the mind

a/ to comprehend the Law of God that controls existence of the world

b/ to create invincible establishments/systems for achievement of the purposes that actualize the will of God within the human world

c/ to accomplish own evolution, for instance, as development–achievement of the maximal potency of reasoning, comprehension and creation of knowledge.

In brief, wisdom is the power that secures existence, evolution–development of the highest potency, and accomplishment of the purposes for the sake of which the system has been created. Consequently, at each level of complexity, the meaning of wisdom is inseparably linked with the human abilities to complete the life–cycle according to the nature and to evolve himself and to develop own creations

either

for the next phase of existence

[[e.g., a human being evolves into the immortal child of God]]

or

for achievement of purposes at other levels of complexity

[[e.g., the state established with the purpose to secure existence of a small nation evolves into the mighty empire;

a small business enterprise evolves into the multinational corporation]]

For instance, for three consecutive levels of complexity –– the human mind a human being human establishment/system –– the practical meaning of wisdom is preservation of life/existence/process of accomplishment of purposes and evolution/development of potency to accomplish the purposes at another level of complexity:

a/ at the level of human mind, wisdom is the power that enables and sustains survival and evolution of the human mind and makes possible successful accomplishment of purposes, for the sake of which the mind creates systems – societies, kingdoms, states, empires, civilizations

b/ at the level of a human being, wisdom is a component of human nature created in image and after likeness of God, the state/condition of intellect, which reveals itself through the ability to accept the life–sustaining energy and power from God and to embody them into own actuality; for instance, to accept, to absorb/assimilate, to create, and to use knowledge necessary for creating, maintaining, and using systems and establishments, with which a human being sustains life, accomplishes purposes, and evolves for the next phase of existence; in other words, wisdom is an ability to accomplish the will of God and the works, for the sake of which a human being has been created

c/ at the level of human establishment–system, wisdom is the synergy of the forces that maintain the system’s existence and development according to the creator’s design, and secure accomplishment of the purposes for the sake of which the system has been created.

*8* Lord God Jesus Christ defines the arch–evil as ανθρωποκτονος {in: John 8:44}. Greek word ανθρωποκτονος, which is translated as murderer, also has a meaning of something composed of the flesh of murdered men. To become ανθρωποκτονος – murderer/the one composed of the flesh of murdered men – the one has to murder a human being and to consume–utilize–use the murdered human being.

See Note *19* to The Mind

*9* For the Christians, the heathens are all those who do not accept The Ten Commandments as the law, and who do not worship the only One True God; they worship idols: figments of human imagination and their embodiments into religions, philosophical, political, and other doctrines, establishments, institutions.

The apostates are those who have converted into another religion.

*10* Creations of the heathens are dead: they live by the borrowed spirit unable to create life. Only the Divine power, which man does not possess, because he is mortal, creates life. A mortal one creates only this that is dead {Wisdom 15:16–17}.

*15*  In Luke 17:21:  η Βασιλεια του Θεου εντος υμων εστιν  – the Kingdom of God within (εντος)  you  (υμων)  is  (εστιν)

*16* As St. Paul the Apostle writes {in: Romans 8; 14:16–17; Ephesians 5:1–21; Galatians 5:16–25}, the Kingdom of God is not in food, and not in drink. Christians imitate God: they live by spirit, not by flesh. Those who live by flesh reap the fruits of flesh [[such as corruption, uncleanness, hatred, heresies, idol–worship, envy, enmity, conflicts, collapse, disintegration, death]]. Those who live by the spirit harvest the fruits of the spirit [[such as love, mercy, faith, peace]] and prepare themselves for the everlasting life in the realm/kingdom of God Who is the Spirit {John 4:24}.

However, during the earthly life, a human being is the wholeness of the spirit/energy––matter/flesh – a being whose life is manifested at three levels:

1/ soul/spirit – the receiver of the divine energy {the breath of life given by God – Genesis 2:7} that sustains a unique form of life: a human being – within the world of derivatives of the divine creative energy of God, for instance, such as

– energy–information that carries the codes of creation – the essence/nature of each of living beings according to its kind that constitute the world given into the dominion of man {Genesis 1}

and

– energy–information–matter – the bodies of living beings – plants, birds, fishes, animals, etc.

2/ heart/mind – the center at which the divine creative energy of God is transformed into the human thoughts, which might be envisioned as the codes of the establishments that man is enabled to create within the world of the matter

3/ body/matter – the physical or perceivable arrangement of the material structures, whose abilities to exist/function/move/act are identified as strength: a human body–carrier of human spirit and intelligence/reasoning makes possible manifestations of the divine creative energy of God embodied into the thoughts, words, and deeds of man.

Therefore, the life of the spirit should determine life of the entire wholeness – a human being: at all three levels, God should be the focus of a human being, because love to God confirmed by the thoughts, words, and deeds of good, is the condition of life at the earth and next, in the kingdom of God.

The  Lazarus’ Saturday

I am the Resurrection and the Life;

the one believing in Me, though he dies, he shall live

{John 11:25}

And the glory of the Lord shall appear,

and all flesh shall see salvation of God, for the Lord has spoken.…

{Isaiah 40:5}

Lazarus’ Saturday is the day when the Christians commemorate the special event: resurrection of Lazarus of Bethany {John 11:1–45}. Next Sunday will be Αγιον Πασχα – the Holy Pascha, Orthodox Easter – the Feast of Feasts: celebration of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ the Son of man, the Incarnated Word–God.

In brief, the story of Lazarus in Gospel According to John {John 11:1– 57; 12:9–11, 17–19}: in Bethany, a small village not far from Jerusalem, Lazarus and his two sisters – Mary and Martha – lived; Lord God loved them. Lazarus became sick and his sisters sent to the Lord saying: the one whom You love is sick.  Yet, the Lord said: this sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God; the Son of God will be glorified by it. Two days passed, and the Lord told His disciples: Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, and I am going that I may awaken him. The disciples did not comprehend the words of God, so, He explained: Lazarus died, and He is going to wake the dead one up, and He rejoices, because resurrection of Lazarus is a chance for His followers to become the believers. Coming to the village, they have found that Lazarus died and was buried; it was fourth day after the burial. Martha the Lazarus’ sister told the Lord that if He would be here, her brother would not be dead. The Lord said to her that her brother would rise. Yes, Martha knew that Lazarus would rise – in the Last Day. God answered woman’s grief and despair:

I am the Resurrection and the Life; the one believing into Me, though he dies, he shall live.

And everyone living and believing into Me he shall not die forever

Then, Lord God Jesus Christ came to the Lazarus’ tomb and told to lift a stone, which covered the cave [[tomb]] with a dead body of Lazarus. Martha said to the Lord that it is already fourth day [[after the burial]], and body smells [[as any decomposing cadaver would]]. The Lord answered:

Did I not say to you that if you would believe, you will see the glory of God?

Then, the people lifted the stone from the tomb, and Lord Jesus Christ, by the Power of the Almighty God, has called the dead man out. In response to God’s call, Lazarus came out of the cave, back into this world. The Lord said to untie him [[to release him from his shroud]] and let him go. Later, after receiving the news of miraculous resurrection, the chief–priests and Pharisees decided to put Lazarus to death, because through him many people believed in Lord Jesus Christ.

Not much is known concerning Lazarus: how he lived before meeting with the Lord, why he, one among the multitudes known to God, was chosen to come back into this world and to glorify God through his death, what happened with him after his resurrection? All that is known concerning his earthly life is that {John 11:1–44; 12:1–19}

1/ the Lord loved Lazarus and called him friend

2/ the Lord came in Lazarus’ house before His last week in Jerusalem, and Mary the Lazarus’ sister anointed the feet of the Lord with the precious pure spikenard oil and wiped off His feet with her hairs preparing Him for His last days at the earth

3/ the chief–priests and Pharisees decided to put Lazarus to death, because through him many people believed in Lord Jesus Christ.

However, the Lazarus’ story might be the story of every person. The one, who hears the words of God and comes to God, leaves the tomb of evil and sin: like Lazarus, he is unbound from his shroud to begin his next life. If Lazarus’ story is accepted as the forecast of own personal resurrection, if it becomes the reality of a person, it opens understanding that only God decides personal destiny of every human being: only person’s connection with God, person’s observance of the commandments of God, and person’s knowledge of God embodied by the person in his thoughts, words, and deeds determine person’s life and save the person from eternal death.

The Lazarus’ story has many aspects [[e.g., 1 through 10]]*1*.

1 The story of Lazarus is the unprecedented revelation of the absolute power of Almighty and Omnipotent God. For the one who is capable of unbiased thinking, it

provides the visible–perceivable–material–physical proof of the absolute power of the Word–God over life and death:

it is an actual tangible evidence of the unlimited power that only God the Creator has

expands the horizons of the mind revealing existence of the spiritual realm,

from which God summoned the spirit of the deceased one

to enter a decomposing body and to animate it into the moving–breathing wholeness that is a human being

Because of Lazarus, even before crucifixion and resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, people could see that at the earth, in the world of death, death has no ultimate power over creations of God: the power of God is the Absolute Power – by the will of God, man lives and dies and comes to life again.

2 Resurrection of Lazarus is the last logical point in the chain of events that as the street lights shining in darkness illuminate the road that leads to the home – the Kingdom of God. These events – miracles of Lord Jesus Christ [[e.g., such as resurrection of the dead, opening the eyes of the blind, healing of the sick and infirm ones, enlightening the ignorant, setting free the slaves]] – were created for the sick, sinful, lost, and hopeless ones, so they would recognize God in Lord Jesus Christ Who has overcome the world and be healed, forgiven, and saved by Him {cf. in: Matthew 9:18–35; Mark 1:23–45; 2:1–17; 3:1–11; 7:25–37; 8:22–26; Luke 4:16–21; 5:12–15; 6:17–19; 7:11–23; John 1:1–3, 9–13; 3:16–18, 36; 5:21, 24; 6:45–47; 8:31–36; 9:1–39; 11:25–26; 14; 15; 16; 17; Isaiah 6:9–10; 40:5}.

3 Lazarus was chosen to illustrate the meaning of resurrection and to give hope to those who have none; he also became the personification of the dead ones in their tombs who are called to life by Λογος, the Word–God: Lazarus resurrection is revelation of the destiny of each human being who would hear the voice of the Lord and rise from death to the eternity with God.

Lazarus came out from the tomb when he heard the call of Lord God Jesus Christ, the Word–God. Similarly to the dead Lazarus, the one’s mind must hear the call of God. If the mind perceives the Word–God and realizes that the Word–God, the eternal Λογος, is the true nature of a being called from the darkness into the marvelous Light of God to become a human child of God and an imitation of the Absolute Good of God, it may be empowered to come out of the tomb of the world set for cognition of the evil and controlled by the ultimate evil – death, and to enter the world of the living ones.

The ability to hear the call of God enables the mind to accept the Word–God, to perceive the life–giving power of God, to comprehend the actual nature of the world, to conquer the evil, and to do the works of God. This ability makes possible transformation of a mortal being formed of dust into the immortal being created to dwell with God the Spirit through the eternity {cf.: Genesis 3:19; Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:35–36; John 1:1–18; 3:3–21, 35–36; 4:23–24; 6:47–58; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:16–25; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 2:1–10; 1 John; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:1–22; James 1:18; Revelation 21:3–7; 22:3–5}.

In summary,

a/ When the mind perceives the Word–God and realizes that the Word–God – the eternal Λογος  – is the true nature of a being called from the darkness into the marvelous Light of God to become a human child of God and an imitation of the Absolute Good of God, it comes

out of the blinding and lethal fog of lies, heresies,

and figments of imagination,

with which our daily life is overfilled

out of the clutches of the ultimate evil that corrupts, perverts, and consumes the weak

who cannot resist the evil,

because they are not protected with knowledge of the good

out of the tomb of the temporal world controlled by death

into the eternal world of God

Indeed, the importance of spiritual perception cannot be overestimated. If to judge by sins, iniquities, and other evils committed by each human being, everyone is dead until the Word–God redeems his soul {in: Ephesians 2:1–22}, because everyone has forgotten his true eternal essence, attached himself to the lifeless dust destined to disintegration, and sinned against God and against the others. The eternal life begins here and this eternal life is in the Son of God {John 1:1–18; 3:16, 35–36; 10:1–18, 27–30; 6:35–69; 11:25–27; 12:44–50; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John 1; 2; 3; 4; 5:1–14}.

The eternal life begins here, while a human being still lives as the unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–mind–body, in this world destined to disintegration–death – the temporary realm measured by time, space, complexity*2*, and other parameters of the temporarily structured matter. Then, the one should pray as the ancient prophet does {Psalm 118(119):25}: my soul has clung to dust*3*, make me alive according to Thy Word.

b/ The Lazarus’s story provides a possibility of understanding the true meaning of resurrection and portrays the possible future of each human being: everyone might be resurrected to the eternal life with God.

c/  Resurrection to the eternal life unfolds as the process of empowering the one

1/ to hear the voice of God

2/ to perceive the presence of God

3/ to discover within own soul–heart–mind

the Word–God – the Source and Foundation of life

4/ to arrange his life according to the commandments–words–law of God

4 The Lazarus’ Saturday has the special place in the sad story of fallen mankind:

– Lazarus’ resurrection marks the time of fulfillment of the ancient prophesies*4* and opens the mind to perception of the last days revealed by the Holy Scriptures

– the words that people hear before – “there is nothing that would be impossible for God” – one more time become the actuality of the believers.

5 Lazarus’ death and resurrection explains some other things. The first of them comes through finding the answer, why Lazarus was chosen to reveal the glory of God, how death of one person could glorify God Who is the Source of life?

For instance, there were plenty of the dead in tombs; why only Lazarus came back if God can restore to life the entire mankind right now, not in the Future, in the Judgment Day? Similarly, there were many widows in the land stricken by famine, yet, Elijah the prophet was sent only to one of them; there were many lepers, yet only one was made clean; two will be in the field, one will be taken, and the other will be left {Luke 4:25–27; 17:36}.

So, the choice of God determines personal salvation of man – of each person, and the personal salvation does not depend on family ties, power, riches, education, membership in privileged groups, and other properties vital for advancement within the human establishments. God observes not as man sees: man looks at the face – the outer appearance; God looks at the human heart {1 Kings 16:7}, and the human heart–soul–mind, the inner man*5* – the essence, determines man’s true value.

Furthermore, the Lord said that He did not bring peace unto the earth: He brought the dividing sword. He came to dissever a man and his father; even those of man’s house would become man’s enemies. Furthermore, he who loves anyone above God is not worthy of God {Matthew 10:34–37}.

Hence, in the moment of Lazarus’ coming out of the tomb, the human mind was given a chance to comprehend that the world has been altered for accommodation of the last stage of homecoming–returning to God, and the ultimate division of mankind unto the eternally living and eternally dead has been initiated. Henceforth, the one should seek and find the knowledge of Truth {John 14:6; 17:3} that is needed for understanding that

a/ God is the only focus of a human being, and the ultimate human destiny is either unity with God or disintegration of death:

b/ the promise that man shall live by each word that proceeds out of the mouth of God {Deuteronomy 8:3; Luke 4:4} became the manifest perceivable reality

c/ people have been given the hope, because it was made clear that God is the Living God of the living ones, and the meaning of life is Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God: the one who believes into Him, though he die he shall live

d/ death have been thrown away from its throne: it became just a condition of homecoming, not the master of man.

It means that

1/ nothing more would ever be able to stand between God and man and to separate man from God, even such core institution as a family – the foundation of all life–oriented structures, societies, and other establishments, which accommodate human existence and secure physical survival

2/ none of the establishments, even the religious ones, would ever have the actual power over human heart–soul–mind; only God has.

3/ only will of God defines would a human being be chosen to enter life everlasting or he would be left to die according to his own choice {John 3:16–21; 6:44–51, 63–65; 14:6; 17:6–9}.

6 Lazarus’ resurrection illustrates the destiny of a person who is loved by God.

How a person becomes the one whom God loves? What are the way and the means to obtain love of God; what are the criteria, by which human suitability for the purposes of God is determined?

The main criteria are love to God and observance of His commandments: the one, who loves Lord Jesus Christ and keeps His Word, will be loved by God and will have dwelling with God {John 14:15–23; 16:27; 17; 1 John 5:1–4}.

The Holy Scriptures tell that faith, love to God, love to the others, mercy to the others, and observance of the commandments of God are the conditions of personal salvation and resurrection–coming from death to life. Even now, within the world of death dissipating under the authority of evil, the chosen ones claim the road leading home*6*, into the kingdom of God.

7 How to become the one who is chosen for the eternity with God?

The first step is liberation from the slavery of evil*7* – from malice, hatred, sin, and lawlessness; then, the one could learn the meaning of life and death and obtain the ultimate freedom of a child of God created in image of the Word–God, the Glory and Wisdom of Almighty God the Creator.

Preparation to the ultimate freedom begins with assuming of the responsibility for own thoughts, words, and deeds: the freedom of the child of God and responsibility of the child of God are inseparable. There is no power over life and death without understanding what death is and what life is, what results in death, and what gives life.

If a mortal human being wants to become the immortal child of God, he has

– to learn that something that differentiates the living from the dead: the words of God

– to comprehend the difference between the good and the evil, love and hatred, righteousness and vice

– to choose life and to live in righteousness and peace, by observing the law–commandments of God

– to accomplish the deeds of love, mercy and truth.

This knowledge, this understanding, and these accomplishments are not possible to buy, to receive in exchange, to delegate to the others, and to learn through the others’ experience. Only because of love and mercy of God, through the Word–God, and by the Holy Spirit of God a human being learns truth, accomplishes the will of God, cognizes love, becomes the chosen one, and enters the life everlasting {John 1:1–18; 3:16–21, 35–36; 6:28–58; 10; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

8 The Lazarus’ story reveals the meaning of death: when the Lord refers to the Lazarus’ condition, which men named death, God does not use the word death: He speaks of falling asleep. Speaking of dead Lazarus, God refers to the physical death as to the slumber: for Him, there is no death, because our God is the God of the living {John 11:11–14; Matthew 22:23–32}, and death of the flesh is not the end of existence. Only because His disciples do not understand Him, God explains with the human terms: Lazarus is dead, He is going to wake the dead one up, and He rejoices, because resurrection of Lazarus is a chance for His followers to become the believers, therefore, to enter the everlasting life {John 11:11–15; 5:24–26; 17}.

So, in the eyes of God, the physical death of a human being does not mean the end of existence: the Christians fall asleep in the earth to be woken up in the house of God, where they – purified of sin and evil, set free, and resurrected by Lord Jesus Christ – shall not have sorrow, grief, and insufficiency of any kind {John 5:21–40; 9:5, 39; 10:9–30; 12:44–50; 14; 17; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}.

However, when the Lord sent His disciples to preach saying that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, He also instructed them to raise the dead {Mathew 10:1–10}.

It means that the human mind is dead without the knowledge of God: the knowledge of God wakes up those who still live as physical beings, yet whose minds have fallen asleep without God.

Thus, the one could infer that if the knowledge of God differentiates the living from the dead, there is no difference

between

the dreaming mind, which is imprisoned within the imaginary world of false, evil, and lies*8*,

and

the dead mind, which is incapable of actualizing creative potential for the works of good – the works of God,

[[that is the meaning of life of human reason]]

and therefore, is similar to the cadaver incapable of life

9 The conversation with Martha the Lazarus’ sister {John 11:20–27} reveals the main lesson of the event: Lord God Jesus Christ is the resurrection and life; he, who believes in Him, therefore, knows Him, shall live, and whoever lives and believes in Him and fulfills His commandments, shall never die {John 6:27–58; 11:17–27; 14; 17}.

10 Resurrection of Lazarus triggered the decision of the chief–priests and the Pharisees to assassinate Lord Jesus Christ along with Lazarus whom He resurrected, because through Lazarus, many people left them and believed in Jesus Christ {John 11:46–53; 12:9–11}. This decision exposed the utter corruption of the priests and the leaders of the chosen nation – those who were expected to teach the law of God and to lead the chosen people to God, yet, who

became the hidden carriers of heresies and idol–worshipers*9*

lost the ability of right judgment

substituted rules of men for the law of God

sought to kill the righteous Man – Lord Jesus Christ – Who taught the law/will of God,

and the resurrected by Him Lazarus – the living evidence of the miracle created by Lord Jesus Christ,

so the people would not have proof of His power as the power of God

referred to the people as to the “ignorant in the law and cursed”*10*

while themselves led the people to corruption and ruin

rebuffed the glory of God for the sake of the convenience of men and rejected the power of God

for the sake of the worldly power completing therefore the process of separation from God –

the separation that was initiated when the chosen people decided to be as all other nations governed by the mortal rulers*11*

{Matthew 23:1–38; John 7:16–49; 10:23–42; 11:1–57; 12:1–43; 19:4–16; 1 Kings 8:4–22}

The chief–priests and Pharisees decided to put to death Lazarus – man resurrected by God, and to murder God Himself, because they perceived God as the threat to their earthly interests {John 11:45–53; 12:10–11}: their actions reveal the materialistic outlook – the spiritual death*12*.

This pattern became the historical actuality: during the following centuries, the authorities of the religious establishments focused on acquisition of the earthly power and riches did not hesitate to put their subjects to spiritual death by depriving them of true knowledge of God and transforming them into servants of the evil. The history illustrates the easiness, with which titles of “princes of the church,” priests, and “doctors of the church” [[contemporary counterparts of the chief–priests the Pharisees, and scribes mentioned in the Gospels]] could cover ungodly men, seducers, sexual predators, perverts, murderers, and enemies of God. Any of positions within any of the religious establishments might be taken by the enemies of faith; the religious establishments might serve the evil and earthly purposes of men, and corruption of religious establishment might reach such abyss that its members would lose abilities to recognize God, would become unable of keeping the words of God, and become idol–worshipers who cover their idols with the references to the Holy Scriptures.

And I think that the main meaning of the Lazarus’ Saturday is a possibility to comprehend the meaning of the ultimate freedom that makes Christianity the most precious gift to mankind enslaved by sin and evil, because it shows to a slave of the arch–evil the way of becoming a child of the Light, the immortal child of the Eternal Almighty God.

Perhaps that is why many centuries the true meaning of the Lazarus’ resurrection [[as well as the Apostle’s words concerning the destiny of the chosen ones –neither death nor life nor angels nor rulers nor the present nor the coming nor height nor depth nor any creature will ever be empowered to separate us from love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior {Romans 8:1–39}]], was hidden behind the lofty slogans and sermons proclaiming

a/ superiority of the “common good” of the establishment over happiness, life and well–being of a person

b/ particular significance and value ascribed to those belonging to the deified hierarchies, special clans, orders, flocks, herds, and groups, which are elevated over the ordinary people

c/ vital necessity of “ultimate sacrifice” of a human being–person, when person’s death or enslaving is needed to secure interests, advance benefits, and satisfy desires of self–deified rulers – kings/popes/bishops/party leaders, who in fact, are criminals, because in their corruption, vice and fear, for the sake of own insatiable lust for power and riches, they kill, enslave, and defraud the ordinary people and deprive them of life and happiness.

During these centuries, while the spiritual numbness, blindness and ignorance as the infernal blinding fog, with which the ancient Phoenicians*13* decorated their after–life, was gradually taking place of the Light of the world:

– the image of God Who died for every one of us – for every person – was transformed into the image of the remote head*14* of a particular hierarchical establishment, within which the access to God is possible only through submission to the special mediators among God and mortal men – the religious leaders*15* who ascribed to themselves the right to take the place of God and who then, substituted their own will and their own laws for the commandments of God

– the hierarchical establishments that their members call “churches” took the place of the Christian Apostolic Εκκλησια – gathering*16* of those who have been called, the free and equal chosen ones who believe in Lord God Jesus Christ and live by Him

– the sons of perdition erected own thrones in the temples of God

– human beings, who are redeemed and set free by the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ, were referred to and treated as

a/ the “small undeveloped souls” for whom the Bible with the words of God is the forbidden book and who are deprived of the Chalice of Salvation – the Cup of Eucharist*17*

b/ the herd of social animals that must be kept in fear and ignorance and fed by the images created for them by the theologians serving the religious hierarchical establishments

c/ slaves whose main virtue is unreserved obedience to those who pretend to stand at the place of God*18*.

Nevertheless, the actuality is that if a person thinks and pronounces the name of Lord God Jesus Christ with faith, love, and reverence, if the person loves the others and does the good to all creations of God, if the person lives by the commandments and by each word coming from the mouth of God, this person is the chosen one, the child of God living by God and in God {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 1 John; Romans 8:1–39; Ephesians 1; 2}. Nothing else invented by the self–proclaimed substitutes of God, “universal teachers/shepherds,” “princes of the church,” and their courtiers matters.

What does matter is the truth that Christianity restores the direct connection of a human being–person with his Creator and Father – Almighty God, the Perfect All–forgiving Love. The essence of Christianity is the unity of God and His human child, the unity in love, freedom, and truth revealed by Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God. In this unity of God and His creation – a human being, there is no place for self–deified particles of dust, which pretend to stand at the place of God and to have the share of dignity of God because they have access to the power of coercion (obtained by deceit, through true false pretence on ability to substitute for God) and can apply it for enslaving the others by robbing them of the true knowledge, which opens the eternity with God. The results of this deceit are illustrated by the centuries of the terror of the Inquisition, religious wars, anti–Semitism, and other deeds, which composed the past and determined the present history of the papacy and the papal church of Rome*19*.

As the free gift of Omnipotent Almighty God, Christianity grants the personal freedom from the slavery of evil, firstly, through the ability to discern evil and vice of those who

– pretend to speak on behalf of God

– employ the wordings of the Holy Scriptures in their sermons, yet, whose deeds spread corruption, hatred, and lies

– pursue the earthly purposes (especially, the political ones) under the mask of the servants of God and benefactors of mankind.

Christianity indeed became the highest treasure of those who seek the road to God, because it

opens the path to cognition of God

gives the knowledge that sets a person free from evil

empowers the mind for development of abilities of right discernment and righteous judgment

offers the Chalice of Life to the one who worships Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ

opens entry into the Kingdom of God

Lazarus’ resurrection not only provides a glimpse into the meaning of the omnipotence of God; it leads to understanding of the comprehensive universal and personal truth: everything is possible for God, and nothing could ever stand between God and a person, between God and human heart–soul–mind, because a human being, a person, is an immortal child of God who has been created to be the temple of the Living God and to be with Him forever {John; 1 John; 1 Peter 1; 2; Romans 8:28–39; 1 Corinthians 2:5–16; 3:16–17; 2 Corinthians 6:16–18; Ephesians 2:4–22}

Lazarus’ liberation from death is also liberation of every one of us: it confirms that the door into the Kingdom of God is open by Lord God Jesus Christ {John 10:1–18, 27–30; 2 Peter 1:2–11}, and facilitates understanding that

1/ a human being enters the world in the garments of flesh {Genesis 3:22–25} to toil the earth {man is the earth – Genesis 3:20}, firstly, to prepare himself for the works of God, because a human being has to evolve into the one who just/exactly follows the reasoning of Christ {δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν 1 Corinthians 2:15–16}*20*, so he could be empowered to become the co–worker, the field for the works of God, and the building of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι, Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη εστε – 1 Corinthians 3:9}, Therefore, he has

to learn the alphabet of the eternity – love: love to God and love to creations of God

within the world downgraded/cursed*21* for the man’s choice to know evil, to cognize the good,

to be untied from misconception*22*

[[which is the shroud of reason]]

to comprehend the truth, and to find the unknown before path*23*

that belongs to those who are led by God

to learn how to follow the commandments and to accomplish the will of God the Creator and the Father

to learn how to live by faith, to accept the Word–God into own soul–heart–mind,

and to absorb the knowledge that He gives: this knowledge is the eternal life

{John 12:44–50; 17}

2/ after completion of the work, a human being has to pass through the threshold separating the phases of life. Behind this threshold, he leaves the temporal clothing–body and all earthly possessions, yet, the essence–soul–heart–mind–spirit created into the image and after likeness of perfect immortal and omnipotent God continues the eternal journey {Genesis 1:26–27; 2:7; Psalms 8, 65(66), 75(76), 105(106), 147, 148, 150, and the others; Matthew 5:48; John 1:1–13; James 1:16–25; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 2:1–10; 2 Peter 2:7–13; 1 John; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:1–22; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}

3/ to accomplish the Christian’s destiny, the one has to wake up and to open the mind for the knowledge of God, to realize that life is the breath of the living God and the eternal life is knowledge of God and Jesus Christ Whom He sent {John}.

Furthermore, to enter the feast of the eternal life, the one must be prepared; otherwise, he may be found unworthy and cast out similarly to the one not having appropriate garment {in: the parable of the wedding feast of the King – Matthew 22:2–14}. Preparation to the feast of God means rejection of the works of the evil and spiritual purification: the one should

not sin before God by violating His law and doing the works of evil

guard himself from evil, lies, and idols

focus his mind on God and arrange his live in dignity, righteousness and truth

dedicate himself to the good, charity, and mercy according to the commandments of God

and instructions of His Apostles

imitate love, mercy, and perfection  of God

{Matthew 5; 6; 7; 37–40; Mark 13:31–37; Luke 6:19–49; 21:34–36; John;

James; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; 2 John; Romans; 1 Corinthians; Galatians; Ephesians; Colossians; 1 Timothy; and the others}.

The Christian Orthodox tradition observes the last week before the Holy Pascha – the Feast of Resurrection – as the time of strict fasting and repentance, when the one should

– reflect on the entire life – the past, present, and future

– forgive those who sinned against him, made him to suffer, and inflicted harm on him and his loved ones

– ask forgiveness of God for all sins committed intentionally or unintentionally, voluntarily or involuntarily, by thoughts, words, and deeds, with or without knowledge of the actual essence of own words and actions and their consequences.

Then, the one is prepared to the Greatest Feast of Holy Pascha – the day when, by the mercy and love of Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, everyone has been given a possibilities to reject the evil, to be liberated from the slavery of sin, and to become the child of God: to enter the eternal life, and to dwell with God forever {John; 1 John; Revelation 21:5–7}.

*4* For instance,

–– the promise that “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” is to be fulfilled, and the dead ones have to hear the Son of God and come to life {Luke 3:6; John 5:21–28; 11:38–44; Isaiah 40:3–5}

–– Ezekiel the Prophet left the vision of the plain filled with excessively dry and dead human bones. According to the will of the Lord, he uttered prophesy upon the dead bones: you, dry bones, hear the Word of God – Λογον Κυριου: “ I will bring upon you the breath of life, and put flesh upon you, and I will put My Spirit into you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” Then, the prophet watched how the bones joined with each other, and flesh covered them; then, bodies materialized, began to breeze, and came to life. Ultimately, the plain was filled with the great congregation. God explained the vision: the dry bones are the entire house of Israel – the people that lost hope. The Lord will bring them out of their graves into life {Ezekiel 37:1–14}: they will be resurrected.

There is another remarkable thing in the book of Ezekiel the prophet: he predicted the switch from the traditional unity of man and his family and his tribe, which was the residual feature kept from the original grouping of all humans in the times of the pre–Babylonian confusion of languages {Genesis 11:1–9}. At some moment of the Past, the promised change foretold through the prophet {Ezekiel 14:13–20; 18:1–32; 33:12–19} happened and the people entered the reality in which

– the righteousness of one man would no longer save those who are with him {e.g., similarly to a family of Noe the Righteous – Genesis 7:1}

– the righteous life in the Past would not save from the consequences [[death]] of the lawlessness and sin committed in the Present

– the lawless man can be saved, if he turns away from his sinful life and begins works of law, mercy, and truth

– a righteous son would not answer for sins of his father.

*5* The essence of man – the inner man, of whom St. Peter the Apostle and St. Paul the Apostle write: ο κρυπτος της καρδιας ανθρωπος – the hidden heart of man {in: 1 Peter 3:4}, and the inner man who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται  – day by day, while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed {in: 2 Corinthians 4:16}, is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God.  See Note *11* to Archive_Selections_2016

“…According to Pius XII, “primacy of jurisdiction” established in the papal church, gives the “Mystical Body two heads” [[According to Pius XII, “the Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing” [in: Humani Generis. Encyclical of Pius XII concerning some false opinions threatening to undermine the foundations of catholic doctrine. 1950. http:// www. vatican. va/holy_father/ pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/ hf_p–xii_enc_12081950_humani–generis_en. html; §27]]]. “One chief head of this Body, namely Christ” Who “in a certain sense lives in the Church” guides the church invisibly, and also visibly, through “His representative on earth.” “That Christ and His Vicar constitute one only Head” and “Peter” (St. Peter the Apostle) is “the visible foundation stone.” Furthermore, the pope asserts that taking away “the visible head” – the pope – leaves “the Mystical Body of Redeemer so obscured and so maimed” that eternal salvation can be neither seen nor found [Mystici Corporis Christi. Encyclical of pope Pius XII On the Mystical Body of Christ. 1943. http:// www. vatican. va/ holy_father/pius_xii/ encyclicals/documents/hf_p–xii_enc_29061943_ mystici–corporis–christi_ en. html; §40–41, §53]. Furthermore, the pope declares that it cannot be “real opposition or conflict between the invisible mission of the Holy Spirit and the juridical commission of Ruler and Teacher received from Christ.” Another pope’s assertion is that ascribing “the whole spiritual life of Christians and their progress in virtue exclusively to the action of the Divine Spirit,” without the collaboration of the pope, leads to “deplorable ruin” [Mystici Corporis Christi. Encyclical of pope Pius XII On the Mystical Body of Christ. 1943. http:// www. vatican. va/ holy_father/pius_xii/ encyclicals/documents/hf_p–xii_enc_29061943_ mystici–corporis–christi_ en. html; §65, 87].

The portrayal of the church as two–headed body would definitely fit the Orphic serpentine theology, and “primacy of jurisdiction” is the definition applied in the worldly affairs. However, which kind of human “jurisdiction” might define the status of God, attach man to God, or make a man into one head with God?...”

Jan Hus the priest, who argued against the “monstrous heads” and other heresies that papacy postulated as the articles of faith transforming therefore the Christian Church of Rome into other religion’s establishment, was burned alive as heretic, in 1415.

*15* The pope Boniface VIII made the statements that the papal authority is divine, and for the sake of eternal salvation it is necessary “for every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff” [The Bull Unam Sanctam, 1302, in: Documents of the Christian Church 127] Pius XII qt. from Mystici Corporis Christi in: Sherrard (1978a) 60].

With the assertion that there is the dangerous error to believe that it is possible to accept Christ and to “reject genuine loyalty to His Vicar on Earth” [Mystici Corporis Christi. Encyclical of Pope Pius XII On The Mystical Body of Christ. §40–41; also ref. and qtd. in: Church, Papacy, and Schism: A Theological Enquiry by Philip Sherrard. London: SPCK, 1978, 60], the pope Pius XII summarized the credo of the papal church as the establishment in which

man took the place of God

the eternal salvation of men had been separated from the acceptance of Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior and God,

from fulfillment of the God’s commandments, and from the mercy of God

the popes asserted themselves as the unavoidable supplements to God

the papal subjects received a new deity, perhaps even more authoritative than God Himself,

because faith and loyalty to God are sufficient no more:

the absolute submission and “genuine loyalty” to the “divine authority” of the pope are the conditions of eternal life

for the papal subjects.

With such dethronement of God, deification of the pope – as well as apostasy of those who accept the papal assertions as the articles of faith – is completed.

However, according to the words of Lord Jesus Christ, only through Him, a human being comes to God {John 14:6, 15–27; also in: Matthew 23:8–10}.

It means, that, as St. Paul the Apostle explains {in: 1 Timothy 2:5–6}, there is only One Mediator between God and man – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God.

 Consequently, the papal pretense to serve as the mediator between God and papal subject is deceit, through which the popes elevate themselves at the place of the Word–God and therefore, transforms those papal subjects who accept the deified pope as the substitute of God @ the Earth into idol–worshipers.

*17* Concerning “small and undeveloped souls” of ordinary people, who can do only “small things” and “little good” under supervision of the guardians – “doctors of the church or angels,” and who should not be nourished with the Word of God, yet must be “fed on images,” see Origen’s concept of the lesser souls [[in: The Ultimate Purposereprint in Note *14* to Archive_Selections_2016]]. Three Ecumenical Councils (the Second of Constantinople (553), the Fourth of Constantinople (869–870), and the Second of Nicea (787) anathematized (excommunicated) Origen (although he died in the third century) and denounced his works as “the mythical speculations,” “heretical” and “useless knowledge” [Decrees of the Ecumenical Councils 119, 135, 161].

See also Works of Origen, Folder Heathen Philosophy.

In 1229, the Inquisition in Toulouse announced prohibition of the Bible: the Bible became the forbidden book for the laity. The pattern established by the papal Inquisition became the favorite way of actions for all those who strive to enslave men. The Inquisition’s decision was supported with the drastic measures; for example, William Tyndale who translated the Bible into English (published in 1526), has to flee England, yet, eventually, in 1536, he was arrested and burned at the stake [Trager 174, 179; Baybrook 603; “Preface”]

Consequently, during many centuries, the knowledge of the original words of God and His Law was forbidden for the vast majority of the papal subjects who were fed with the images produced by the Magisterium, and had to accept as the divine truth any assertion, which the papal hierarchy considered beneficial for its own purposes.

Today, the Bible is forbidden for the people living in the countries with totalitarian and oppressive regimes, which suppress freedom of conscience and freedom of thinking and execute converts into Christianity.

*20* In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, St. Paul the Apostle writes of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind of those who just/exactly follow the reasoning of Christ {δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν 1 Corinthians 2:15–16}.

Traditional translation of ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν {in: 1 Corinthians 2:16}, where νουν is a derivative of νοος intelligence, reasoning, mind, and εχομεν – interpreted as “have,” is “we have/possess the mind of Christ” [R].

Christ is the Word–God; humans are not capable of having the mind of God. Besides, to ascribe to a human being attributes of God is blasphemy.  Obviously, the translation is inadequate. Indeed, the word εχομεν should not be interpreted as a derivative of εχω (to have) from primary verb σχεω  – to hold; εχομεν is a shortened form of εχομενως – which conveys meanings of contiguity, following something, close connection, proximity. Strict meaning of ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν is “we just/exactly the reasoning of Christ follow.”

*21* In Genesis 3:18, God speaks of επικαταρατος η γη – cursed/downgraded/destabilized earth.

Within the new setting (cursed/downgraded/destabilized earth) arranged for human cognition of the evil [[see The Point of Entry – in the Text of Archive_Selections_2016]],

a/ false knowledge might be produced, offered as the truth, accepted by men, and let to circulate within human establishmenst – societies, religious, political, research, educational, and other institutions

b/ the establishments, within which the cohesive power – knowledge that should sustain wholeness–life, survival, and development of establishments – carries the false knowledge inadeaquate to the human nature, nature of the world, and daily reality of societies, states, nations, undergo collapse and disintegrate

c/ the debilitated by false knowledge mind has to pass through the cycle of extermination:

acceptance of false knowledge collapse of reasoning perversion degeneration death

In theological terms, the cohesive power might be defined as the life–sustaining manifestation/function of the spirit/divine life–creating energy.

In systems terms, the cohesive power is the main system–maintaining force:

– it realizes, directs, and maintains circulation of the intra–system energy–information flow and the information exchange with the environment

– it unifies all system’s components into the purposeful wholeness

– it regulates creation of new knowledge and circulation of accumulated knowledge.

The cohesive power is manifested through the flow of data–information–knowledge, which circulates within the system and supplies the system’s components with data–information–knowledge that sustain and control their existence.

Any interruption of the normal processes of knowledge creation–consuming–transmitting within a system triggers degeneration of the cohesive power. Any degeneration of the cohesive power activates the collapse, firstly, by triggering the processes of disintegration of the wholeness–system/establishment/state/nation, which gradually is transformed into an assembly of different groups/parties/subsystems/organizations with irreconcilable differences and thus, contradictory purposes.

Concerning cohesive power, see also Introduction to the Systems Logic

The Holy Pascha

Χριστος Aνεστη!

Christ is Risen!

Христос  Воскрес!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only–begotten Son

that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life

{John 3:16}

I am the Resurrection and the Life;

the one believing in Me, though he die, he shall live,

and everyone living and believing in Me, shall not die for ever

{John 11:25}

…Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

He, Who according to His great mercy, has recreated us

to the hope living through resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

to the inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading

having been kept in Heaven for you,

by the power of God having been guarded through faith

to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time…

{1 Peter 1:3–5}

 …the love of God was revealed in us,

because God has sent into the world His Son, the only–begotten,

that we might live through Him…

{1 John 4:9}

God being rich in mercy, because of His great love, with which He loved us,

even we being dead in sin, He made us alive with Christ –– by grace you are being saved…

…we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works,

which God before prepared that we should walk in them

 {Ephesians 2:4–5, 10}

Sunday, May 1, 2016, the Christians celebrate the Holy Pascha – the day of deliverance, the day of resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, the day when the Son of God, the Word–God, bestowed life everlasting to everyone who wants to live. Christ is risen, thus, all His Own ones {John 10; 17} anticipate the eternity with God. As in Adam all die, in Christ all shall be made alive, because Christ is Love that keeps God in His creations: the one who has God within, though he die [[by leaving the body – garments of flesh/structured matter that is the temporal carrier of the human spirit]], he shall live {John 11:25; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1:3–5; 1 John 4:9, 16; 5:11; 1 Corinthians 15:22}.

Hence, on the Holy Pascha, along with celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, we, the Christians, celebrate own birth into the eternal life, because the Word–God has translated us

from death

to the life everlasting

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

from physical frailty of a body/flesh/temporarily structured matter

to the spiritual power of the inner man – soul–heart–mind

that is set free, established, enlightened, and given the everlasting life

by the Word–God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

from the slavery of sin, evil, and bondage of the dissipating matter/flesh

to the freedom of an immortal human child of God

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

from the defenselessness of a human being that, within the world that crucified the Son of man,

can be tortured, maimed, killed for his faith in Lord God Jesus Christ, the Savior

to the spiritual strength and invincibility of the people

who are called by God out of darkness in His marvelous Light

to become the royal priesthood chosen by God to live in His presence and to reign with Him forever

{John 17; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}

Always, and especially, on the day when the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated, the Christians bless God the Father and glorify His Holy Name for His great mercy and for the hope of the eternal life in His kingdom. They pray that His mercy that is more than life and His Omnipotent and Almighty and All–forgiving Love revealed through His Son, the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ the Savior, be always with all, forever.

And I think: whatever knowledge the one has acquired during the entire life at the Earth, there is nothing comparable with the anticipation of the future with God, with understanding that on the day of the Holy Pascha, along with celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord and Savior, the one celebrates own birth into the eternal life with God and continues the path that God has prepared for him before the beginning of times.

The human wisdom is silent before the reality of the crucifixion and the resurrection of the Son of man and the Son of God: everything is accomplished –– by death, the death is defeated, and death is no more –– Christ is risen, and life everlasting is bestowed on every one who wants to live…

Χριστος  Ανεστη!

Αληθως Ανεστη!

Christ is Risen!

Truly is Risen!

Христос  Воскрес!

Воистину  Воскрес!

The Thomas’ Sunday

Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed.

Blessed are the ones not seeing, and believing

{John 20:29}

The first Sunday after the Holy Pascha is the Thomas’ Sunday – the day, when the Christians celebrate faith and commemorate establishment of faith as the foundation for transfer of the knowledge of God to all following after the Apostles generations, from which the children of God come.

There are three references to St. Thomas the Apostle, in the last chapters of Gospel According to John {John 11:1–16; 14:1–11; 20:24–29}.

1 After Lazarus’ sisters sent the message to the Lord that Lazarus is sick*1*, the Lord told His disciples that He is going to come to Lazarus and to awake him. The disciples warned Him that the people of Judea wanted to stone Him. The Lord answered that those who are walking in the night are stumbling because the Light of the world is not with them*2*, and He intends to resurrect Lazarus who died. Then, Thomas told other disciples: Let us go, even we, that we may die with Him {John 11:1–16}.

However, for them, it was not the time to die: nor for them nor for their Lord and Teacher, yet. They would die for the Lord God later, one by one, and most of them tortured, by agonizing death: for proclaiming His Gospels, for illuminating those in the darkness of death, for miracles that they would create by the power of God given them from the above in the name of Lord Jesus Christ…

Now, in their nearest future, they would witness Lazarus’ resurrection, the glorious entrance of Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God and the King of Israel into Jerusalem, and then, crucifixion of the Son of man – inconceivably horrifying execution*3* of the Most Righteous and Merciful and Loving One Who healed the sick, fed and illuminated the crowds, opened eyes of the blind, forgave the sinners, resurrected the dead, taught to love enemies and to love each other as He loves, and promised His followers the kingdom of His glory and everlasting life {John 6; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14; 15; 17}.

2 It happened during the Last Supper {John 14:1–14}: after the Lord said that they [[disciples]] know where He goes and know the way, Thomas answered that they do not know where He goes, and how can they know the way? Lord Jesus Christ responded to Thomas {John 14:5–6}:

I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me

The words of the Lord conveyed also the assurance, given through Thomas to all followers of Lord Jesus Christ, that if empowered to know Him, know also the Father, and from now on, they do know Him and have seen [[εωρακατε – have seen, perceived, observed, contemplated, understood]] Him:

–– God the Father with Whom the Word–God is One, He creates the works

–– the works of the Word–God are the works of the Father

–– these works done in the Name of the Father bear witness of Him,

and because of them, His followers should believe in Him

–– those who do not believe, are not of His sheep:

His sheep hear His voice and He knows them and they follow Him

{John 1:1–18; 10:25–30; 14:1–14; 17}

3 In the evening of the day of His resurrection, Lord God Jesus Christ came to the disciples and they witnessed Him. Thomas was not with them {John 20:19–24}. When Thomas returned, the disciples told him that they have seen the Lord. Thomas answered: unless he himself sees the mark of the nails in His hands and trusts his finger into the mark of nails, and trusts his hand into His rib – that is until he sees and touches the wounds inflicted during crucifixion*3* {in: John 19:1, 17–18, 33–34}, in no way he believes.

The next time, when all disciples gathered together again in the house with the locked doors, and Thomas was with them {John 20:19–29}, Lord God Jesus Christ came and stood in the midst; He told Thomas to bring his finger (to touch His wounds), and to see His hands, and to trust his hand into His rib, and be not unbelieving but believing. Thomas answered to Him: My Lord and my God! Then, God said:

Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed.

Blessed are the ones not seeing, and believing

{John 20:29}

The story of St. Thomas the Apostle provides the ample food for thoughts concerning Christian faith.

Although Thomas the disciple was willing to die with his Teacher and Master, although he witnessed the miracles created by the Son of God [[including resurrection of Lazarus]], still, he was not able to believe unless he observed the perceivable – material – evidence: he needed to see and to touch by his hands, so he would believe [[with his mind]] because of the material evidence and physical sensation [[by his body]].

The disciples made their choice to stay with Lord Jesus Christ at the time when the others departed – those who were not able to comprehend His words concerning His Body and His Blood as the Divine Food and Drink given for the life of the world, so creations of God might be resurrected, receive the eternal life, and enter the eternity in the presence of God {John 6:27–69}.

Facing human inability to understand, the Lord said {John 6:63}:

the Spirit is that makes alive; the flesh does not help/benefit*4* – nothing!

The words that I speak to you the Spirit is and are life

Then, answering the question of the Lord: “Do you also wish to go,” Simon Peter said: to whom they shall go? They have believed and they have known that He is Christ, the Son of the Living God, Who has the words of the eternal life {John 6:68–69}; at the very beginning, they identified themselves as the believers: the ones who have faith.

The referred above [[in 14]] words of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God through Whom everything that exists came into being {John 1:1–4}, introduce the fundamental truths on which Christianity is established:

the Spirit is the Source of life

flesh–matter is nothing: it does not assist/benefit life in Spirit

faith*5* helps to see the invisible, to anticipate the unknown, and to perceive and to recognize God:

faith is blessing of God

In other words, faith is the optimal state of the mind: the bridge between the temporal world of perceivable tangible material things and the eternal kingdom of God – the realm of the eternal Almighty God the Spirit, from Whom the mind receives the Divine energy and power that enables it to evolve for the eternity with God.

How then, the one can obtain faith?

The disciples of the Lord travelled with Him through the land and witnessed His miracles (including resurrection of Lazarus); they followed Him until the cross. Yet, they were not able to comprehend the reality of resurrection and eternity given to them through death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, until He opened their mind for understanding {Luke 24:1–49}. Apparently, they were brought up as the people of the chosen nation who knew the law of God and had the promise of the Messiah. However, with knowledge of the law given through Moses, they were not able to reach the complete comprehension of the miracle of grace and truth and salvation given through Lord Jesus Christ {John 1:1–18}. Although they have seen resurrection of Lazarus and should know that power to resurrect the dead one belongs only to God, until God gave them understanding and wisdom, they were unable to comprehend that they are in the presence of the Creator of life, Who has life in Himself and Who is free to give it and to take it back {Mark 16; Luke 24; John 1:1–18; 5:17–47; 6:40–51, 63; 10:1–18, 27–30; 11:25–44; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Only after God appeared to them and opened their heart for understanding, they became the true believers. Only after they received the greatest gift of God – the Holy Spirit {Luke 12:49; 24:13–49; John 14; 15; 16; Acts 1:1–8; 2:1–43}, they became the true laborers of God who conveyed the Christian teachings to the people of the earth and established the earthly foundation of the Christian Church, so the Εκκλησια of God with His people*6* became the actuality for every Christian {Acts; The Epistles}.

Therefore, the story of St. Thomas the Apostle along with explanation that the mind of the disciples was opened for understanding of the Scriptures, so they were enabled to believe, makes clear that for the Christians, Lord God Jesus Christ is the Source of all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority:

–– the Word–God is της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith

and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith

–– the Word–God bestows the treasure of faith upon the one who asks it

and empowers the unbelieving one to become the believing one

–– the Word–God opens for the believing ones the way into the eternity in His kingdom

{Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26;

Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; 24;  John 3:16, 36; 14; 15; 16; 17;

1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11; 12}

And what about the unbelievers, the materialists, heathens, and the others who, nevertheless, may wish to find the only One True God?

How the one can obtain the faith in God the Spirit, if he lives in the world of the material things, in which only the touchable perceivable physical evidence is the foundation of assumptions that the many accept as the true knowledge?

The story of Thomas the Apostle exposes the difference between

the believer who lives by the Spirit, by faith

and

the unbeliever who needs material evident –– touchable, and perceivable through senses – proof

However, what if the unbeliever is given the material proof of the power of God, for instance, such as healing of the lepers, resurrection of the dead ones, and other miracles of God similar to those which the Pharisees and others witnessed, and which divided them onto two groups:

1/ the ones as Nicodemus the Pharisee who came to the Lord already knowing that He came from God {John 3:1–16}

and

2/ the ones as those who witnessed the miracles of healing, yet did not believe, as Pharisees and chief–priests who plotted to assassinate Lazarus whom the Lord resurrected, so the people would not have the proof of the power of God and would not believe and follow Lord Jesus Christ {in: John 8:31–59; 9; 10:19–39; 11; 12}.

As the Lord said in the end of the Parable of the Rich Man and Poor Lazarus {Luke 16:19–31}, those who do not hear Moses and the prophets [[that is those who do not observe the law of God revealed through Moses and the prophets]]*7* would not be persuaded even if the dead is resurrected {Luke 29–31}.

Hence, the keys for obtaining faith should already be in the mind*8*. God created a human being in image of God and likeness. Thus, the natural connection with God the Creator, firstly, as the ability to hear His voice {John 10:26–30}, is the natural feature of every human being created for the purposes of God –– that is the one who is chosen to come to God {in: John 15:16; 17:6; 1 Peter 1; Ephesians 1}. Such keys would be

– the natural predisposition/openness for perception of the foundation of life: love and mercy of God

– natural piety and understanding of the human nature, which is defined by the law*9*–commandments–words of God, the essence of which is love: love to God and love to the creations of God, and which reaches perfection through the power of wisdom {Matthew 22:36–40; Luke 10:27–37; Romans 2:14–15; Isaiah 40:10–26; Wisdom}.

Then, faith

begins with an ability to admit that the visible perceivable reality is just a surface:

opens the mind for comprehension of the law–words of God

heals, purifies, nourishes, and perfects the mind,

because, through faith, the mind perceives the omnipotent All–forgiving and Almighty Love of God

and perception of God becomes the reality of the believer

{as it is said, for instance, in: Psalm 15(16):8}

opens the eternity – the realm of Almighty God the Spirit –

for the one who believes in God and confirms his faith

by observance of the law of God and by the deeds of the good done for the creations of God

In practical sense, faith is initiated through acknowledgment that there is the unknown and unseen spiritual realm, from which God calls and touches the mind of the one who is chosen to come to Him. Faith begins with the ability to see beyond the limits of the material world; then, through faith the one is empowered

to perceive the presence of eternal God the Spirit and the Creator

behind the life within the temporal world arranged from the temporary structured matter – the material things

to accept the law of God as the foundation of life and as description of his own nature

to live by the law of God, so his love to God is confirmed and his faith is revealed through his deeds

In summary, faith is the optimal state of the mind, because through faith, the connection of the mind with God is established, and the Divine energy of God nourishes and heals and purifies the mind leading it to the completeness of perfection and then, to the eternity of dwelling with God, of which the Lord said to His disciples {John 14; 15; 16; 17}

Hence, faith in God the Spirit is not compatible with materialism*10*, which is denial of existence of God, denial of the spiritual life of man, and deification of the matter – the idol–worship.

The faith is ignited within the heart–mind of the one who seeks God with the sincere desire to find the path to the Creator and to obtain everlasting life in His kingdom*11*. Then, the believer comes to understanding that God is all of man, ceases the works of the evil, and begins

to do the works of the good

to follow the ways of righteousness and justice pleasing to God

to seek the complete knowledge of God and wisdom*12*

as the greatest treasure that the one can have and as the pledge of the eternity

Then, the Light Who is the Truth and the Way and the Life of man {John 9:5; 12:44–50; 14:6; 17:1–3}, illuminates the darkness of the creature of earth/clay –– the man formed from the dust of the earth –– making him capable of becoming a child of Light, the child of the eternal God {John 1:1–13; 9:5–7; 10:30; 14:6, 23}.

This all happens, if the human reasoning/mind reaches the optimal state: faith. The phase of human evolution that must be done at the earth, within the temporal world of the material things, is initiated and may be accomplished only if the mind has faith:

–– faith connects the creation with eternal God the Creator through the miracle of spiritual illumination

–– faith is the work*13* of God: through faith, God populates His kingdom

–– the act of creation of a faithful one follows the universal pattern of creation*14* known from Genesis

and repeated by the Lord when He created the eyes of the one who was born blind*15*:

through His Word, Who is the Light and the Life of men,

the darkness of the mind that clings*16*  to the dust – to the temporal world of the material things  dissipates,

and the firstfruit of new creations of God –

the children–slaves–priests of God chosen to reign forever –

comes to life

{John 1:1–5, 12–13; 6:28–29, 63; 9:1–41; 12:44–50; 14:6–12; 15; 17;

James 1:17–18; 1 Peter 1; 2:9–10, 25; Ephesians 1; 2; Revelation 21:5–6; 22:1–5; Genesis 1:}

Celebration of the Thomas’ Sunday reminds us that faith is the blessing of God, illumination of the mind, and the beginning of the eternity.

Faith does not have limits and temporal restrictions typical for everything that is a part of the temporal restricted world, which is cut by the reasons of the dust {Job 28:4} from the eternal flow of the divine creative energy: faith is the bridge established between the temporal world and the eternity of God.

For instance, for the Christians who live today and for the Christians who lived centuries ago, the world is not different: it is the realm set for evolution of man who has to claim his inheritance – eternity with God by passing through tests and trials, with assistance of which the frail mortal creature of dust evolves into the invincible spirit created after the image of God and likeness. In this realm – the temporal earth, world of the material things,

–– they all have the same greatest treasure – the same love and blessing of God {John 17:17–26} coming through faith, because they believe in Lord God Jesus Christ, although they have not seen God in the same way as His disciples did {in: John 1:1–18, 34–51; 17:6–20; 1 John 1:1–4}

–– they are discriminated, persecuted, oppressed, and killed as all generations of Christians are discriminated, persecuted, oppressed, and killed because of faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God {Matthew 10:16–30; 24:9–13; Mark 13:9–13; Luke 21:16–19; John 13:16–17; 15:18–25; 17:14–16}

–– they follow the Good Shepherd Who gives them immortality*17* and leads them home, into His eternal kingdom {John 10:1–17, 27–30; 11:25–26; 14; 17}.

The others live within the stagnated realm, which they, following Socrates, identify as the flow of changes that are the source of life.

Even so, the one with the unbiased mind could come to the conclusion that

a/ apparently, the world of men –– as the arrangements of the material things  –– is changing

            from one civilization to another civilization*18*

            from one cycle of degeneration collapse annihilation to another cycle of degeneration collapse annihilation

b/ some manifest expression of convictions and beliefs of men founded upon the heathenism may be

            either changing from generation to generation or kept as the legacy of the ancestors*19*

            modified because of parameters and scales of the material things – technical progress (e.g., transportation), gadgets, weapons, armies, political hierarchies, establishments, laws of nations, customs of societies, etc.

c/ however, for the unbelievers in the world that does not recognize Christ and that does not know the Holy Spirit {John 14:14–17}, in the world that is collapsing under the burden of hatred, evil, and sins, the essence of existence is the same:

hatred to the only One True God and to His creations

insufficiency of all kinds degeneration–perversion–corruption  collapse death of a body  eternal death/separation from God

The fog of the evil already covered the most part of the earth, and it intensifies daily, with each new crime and sin against God and His creations, transforming existence/reality of the mind that operates under control of the evil into the inferno of the ancient Phoenicians*20*, in which the lost souls wander without sense and purpose, without any hope to find the way to the light and life, without any expectation of love and mercy.

How then, the believers who have faith can share their greatest treasure with those who may be called to seek God, whose souls may become thirsty for God more than a body is thirsty for the water in wasted dry desert*21*?

How to assist those who have no faith, if

– they do not know what is faith

– the skeptical “scientific” mind, godless societies, and totalitarian regimes identify

a/ belief in the spiritual life, and therefore the ability to believe in God, as sickness, mental disorder, and abnormality

b/ Christianity as the worst enemy coming of which means the end of their existence

c/ Christians as the worst enemies that must either be converted into their cults/ideologies or exterminated

– in Islamic countries and countries with totalitarian regimes, the Christians still have to go through*22* discrimination, false accusations, persecution and death for their faith and for following the commandment of God to communicate the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ to the world; the Holy Bible is banned, churches are desecrated and destroyed, and death is the habitual punishment for those who converted into Christianity.

Indeed, there is no reason to seek the Christian faith, as well as there is no hope to find it, for the one who

–– holds physical survival as the main priority and the world of the matter as the only reality of existence

–– is rich with the possessions of this world

–– is confident in the material things

–– sets all his hopes on the power of coercion, wealth, social and political status,

on the armies, weapon, manipulation by false knowledge and through deceit and propaganda,

political–social–religious hierarchies, power of the establishments, etc.

Furthermore, none is able to take the one’s hand and to bring him to God. Only the one’s own free choice and own life – thoughts, words, deeds – bring the one to God, and there is no human mediator between God the Father and His creations: God is the Beginning and the End. The one comes to God only through Lord Jesus Christ: because of faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God and love of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God. Furthermore, coming to Lord Jesus Christ is the will of God the Father, Who knows His chosen ones before the beginning of times {John 6:65; 14:6; 17; 1 Peter 1; Romans 8:28–30; 11:36; Revelation 1:8; 21:6; 22:13}.

Thus, for the one who seeks understanding of the meaning of existence and the purpose of life, the starting point of the road*23* to God may be desire to understand the human nature; with understanding of the human nature, the one discovers the presence of God the Creator within own soul–heart–mind. None is capable of such understanding, if God Himself does not give it.

And I think that the story of Thomas the disciple {John 20:19–29} who was unbelieving in spite all miracles of the Lord that he witnessed, and who came to faith only after the direct visible and material intervention of God Who loves all His creations –– including the poor, the sinners, the criminals, the fallen, the corrupted, the unbelievers, the doubtful, the miserable ones, those rejected by the entire world: all of us {John 3:16–17} –– is given as the special encouragement for the unbelieving ones. Lord God Jesus Christ, Who is all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority, is also  της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; 12:2; Romans 14:23}. The Word–God bestows the treasure of faith upon the one who asks it, and empowers the one

to live by faith

through the deeds of love and mercy,

to reveal the greatness of Christian faith to the world

The story of Thomas the unbeliever who became St. Thomas the Apostle confirms that, because of the mercy of God, even for the unbelievers, there still is hope to come to God and to obtain the everlasting life, the road to which starts with faith.

For the beginning, the unbelieving one who wants to obtain faith should

open the mind to assumption that there is something else behind the surfaces of the material things –

the Spirit Who is the Creator of the matter and the Source of the energy by which the world lives

acknowledge a possibility that he has been either deprived of knowledge of God or indifferent to it

begin reading of the Gospels and Epistles of the Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ

with the sincere desire to find God

keep in mind that the Lord said:

Ask and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock and it will be open.

For each one that asks receives, and the one that seeks find, and to the one knocking it will be opened

{Matthew 7:7–11; Luke 11:9–13; Proverbs 2:3–12; Wisdom 6:12–20}

Then, the blessing of God –– the faith as the substance of all expectations and the evidence of the unseen {Hebrews 11:1}, as the knowledge transcending the limited world of the material things –– will become the state of the mind claiming the road into the eternity with God.

*3* Crucifixion is the most agonizing, humiliating, and inhumanly painful execution. Its essence is complete deprivation of abilities to act and triggering of dying through unnaturally restricted position of a wounded body fixed on the cross:

–– the weight of body slowly destroys the thorax and lungs and results in slow suffocation

–– the position of lifted, fixed, and twisted under the weight of a body hands destroys joints and interrupts circulation of blood and lymph

–– infection from wounds in hand palms pierced by iron nails and wounds from lashes and obstruction of circulation of blood and lymph accompanied with edemas result in fever and slow destruction of all life–supporting systems.

The condemned are deprived of ability to move, to alleviate pain, even to fasten the process of death; they retain ability to utter few words until the developing oedema of the lungs would make speech impossible. Sometimes, in the heathen past, as the act of “mercy,” the condemned were given the narcotic drink, which temporarily alleviated their suffering by making them delusional. Actually, the narcotic substances prolong the agony because they intervene with the acuteness of perception, and thus prevent the brain from immediate death when intensity of pain would reach the threshold of brain’s survival.

Crucifixion is quintessence of slavery and embodiment of the greatest evil cognized by men. Only the cursed mind in which nothing human is left was capable to conceive such evil. Indeed, crucifixion was invented by the “cursed men” – the Phoenicians who sacrificed their own sons to dead stones and sent own daughters to serve as temple prostitutes. The Phoenicians adopted the rites of the tree of death from the Minoans and utilized it for the capital punishment: a wooden cross, on which a crucified human being comes through the most inhumane agonizing death, became the Phoenician version of the tree of cognition of the evil.

Eventually, the Phoenicians, or “the cursed nation,” advanced at the way of cognition of the evil until such a degree, that

a/ their civilization was wiped out of the face of the earth

b/ the complete knowledge of their culture, religion, social and other beliefs was made inaccessible, with exception of small fragments revealed through the writings of their contemporaries – enemies, the Old Testament prophets, ancient historians

c/ the crucifixion [[adopted by the ancient Romans and still used by the Islamic countries]] became the main embodiment of the Phoenician legacy – death of the human reasoning and death of a body.

*4* In John 6:63 – η σαρξ (flesh) ουκ (not) ωφελει (ωφελει – from ωφελεω: to provide help, assistance, to benefit) ουδεν (nothing; in no way; not at all; also – emptiness, void, zero)

*5* St. Paul the Apostle defines faith as the substance of all expectations and the evidence of the unseen {Hebrews 11:1}; those who have faith see the unseen and eternal {2 Corinthians 4:13–18}.

Faith is the optimal state of reason; otherwise Lord God would not seek it in His creations {in: Luke 18:8; John 9:35–39; 11:25–26}. The Holy Scriptures provide the comprehensive definition of faith: all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority are in Lord God Jesus Christ – He is  της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; 12:2; Romans 14:23}.

Through faith, the mind learns love and knowledge of God – the knowledge that is the eternal life {John 17:3}.

According to the Christian teachings, faith is life: the life–bearing knowledge of God and the unity of the acquired knowledge with the manner of life; the just one lives by faith {Habakkuk 2:4; Luke 7:50; 1 Peter 1:9; James 2:14–26}.

In other words, faith is the state of cognizance/knowing God, love to God, living by God, and unity with God. Faith gives comprehension of the essence of all events that compose life of the soul–heart–mind. The Holy Scriptures provide the simple and detail instructions for all who have faith in God. It might be also said that faith defines process of human evolution, because faith allows obtaining completeness of knowledge of the Word–God and prepares for the eternity with God {in: John 6:27–29, 44–48; 8:31–32,34–36; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:1–11}.

*12* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God.

2/ currently, the Orphism is still spreading through the world under the cover of

            –– the Yoruba religions, Voodoo, and cults of death, which the enslaved Africans carried with them from Africa into Americas and Europe, and which they, after the forceful conversion because of coercion by the slave–owners, merged with Catholicism

3/ the ancient heathen fertility rite is still conducted through female genital mutilation,

            –– with which, after assassination of Orpheus by Maenads and because of spreading of the rites of Dionysian and other serpentine cults (which included bestiality, sexual perversion, artificially invoked insanity, lechery, and temple prostitution as worship of heathen deities of fertility and death) the ancient Orphic elite attempted to restrain promiscuity of women and to secure procreation of ordinary (not–initiated) citizens and slaves needed to sustain survival of ancient slave–owning societies

            –– which became the article of faith for some religions or mandatory custom in the lands of Middle East, Asia, and Africa

*20* The Phoenicians believed that after death of a body, the soul of man enters the realm of blinding fog ruled by the cruel goddess indifferent to the prayers of the doomed: the soul has to wander alone, without purpose and without expectation of mercy, helpless and unable of finding the path into the world of light.

*22* However, the scale of persecution of Christians has been widened and now takes the entire world. Now Christians are slaughtered by millions, as it was with 1.5 mln (estimated) of Armenian Christians exterminated by Ottoman/Turkish empire in the beginning of the twentieth century. As a result of current genocide, almost entire population of the Christians in the territories under control of Islamic State has gone – enslaved, exiled, or killed by Muslims.  In other Islamic countries, Christian population also is significantly reduced; the most part has fled because of discrimination, persecution, and injustice, others are killed, imprisoned, or went into hiding. The Love and The Law

…For God so loved the world that He gave His Son, the only–begotten,

that everyone believing in Him may not perish, but have life everlasting…

{John 3:16}

which command is great in the law?

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

This is the first and the great commandment.

The second and like to it,

“you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

In these two commandments all the law and prophets hang…

{Matthew 22:36–40}

…God is love,

and he abiding in love, in God abides, and God in him…

{1 John 4:16}

Seeing the crowds that gathered to be healed and to hear Him {Matthew 5:1–2, 17–18}, Lord Jesus Christ went up into the mountain and taught them. He said:

Do not think that I came to annul the law or the prophets. I came not to annul, but to fulfill…

Until the heavens and the earth pass away, in no way one iota or one point shall pass away, until all comes to pass

The Gospel According to John begins with revelation that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word [[και Θεος ην ο Λογος {John 1:1}]]; through Him all came into being {John 1:1–3}. Moses wrote about Him, and all the Scriptures are about Him, Who came in the Name of The Father to accomplish His will, and Who said {John 4:34; 5:17, 30, 43–47; 6:38; 7:16–18; 10:30}:

My food is to do the will of God and to accomplish His work

I came down from the heaven to accomplish the will of the One Who sent Me

I and the Father are One

Hence, the Gospels lead the mind to understanding that

1/ the will of God the Creator and the Father is the Absolute Law that controls life of the created by God world, and existence of all the living ones within this world depends on fulfillment of the will/law of God

2/ the will of God the Father is accomplished by His Son, the Word–God, Who is His Glorified Name {cf.: Psalm 137(138):2; Isaiah 55:8–11; John 17:1–8}.

Furthermore, the words of God {Genesis 1; 2; Deuteronomy 28; 29; 30; Psalm 95(96); 101(102):25–28; 106(107):8–22; 148:1–6; Isaiah 51:4–8; 55:8–11; Luke 12:49; John 3:16–21; 14;  15:26; 16:13–15; 17; James 1:17–18; 1 Peter 1; 2; Revelation 21:1–8; 22:1–15} confirm that

1 until the heavens and earth exist, the law*1* and the knowledge revealed through the prophets*2* shall remain the absolute – unchangeable and unavoidable and universal – Law and the absolute Truth

2 the Word–God came to fulfill the law–will of God established before the foundation of the world: to cast the Divine Fire, the Spirit of God, unto earth/man, and to create the next – new – world*3*

3  the heavens and the earth that came into being through the Word {John 1:1–4} are the embodiments of the law–will of the eternal God the Creator

4 fulfillment of the law is the condition of life and evolution [[preparation readiness for the next phase of existence, in the next, new, world of God]]*4* within the current world that

a/ was created as the embodiment of the law

b/ exists by the law fulfilled by the Word of God

c/ is judged according to the Word–Truth–Law of God

[[judged–evaluated by accomplishment/violation of the Law–Word, and is allowed to continue

either existence and evolution, if it exists according to the Law–Word,

or degeneration irreversible collapse disintegration, if it does not comply with the Law–Word]]

5 for a human being, the choice between acceptance–observance–fulfillment of the law of God and disregarding–violation of the law of God is the choice between life/blessing and death/curse –– death of a temporal body here*5*, at the earth, and then, in the eternity, eternal death as separation from God.

Therefore, according to the will of God {John 1:1–18; 3:3–8, 16–17; 4:10–14; 6:29, 32–40, 44–69; 7:37–39; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–18, 21–25; 1 Peter 1:23–25; 1 John; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:4–10, 13–22; 4:17–24; Colossians 1:12–22; 2:6–10; Revelation 3:12, 21; 19:11–16; 21:1–8; 22:1–15; Psalm 137(138):3}, the new creations destined for the eternity with Him

1/ must be His children born of the Spirit and in likeness of the Word–God

2/ must live by the Word–God like a body lives by bread and water,

so, His power shall be in their soul

3/ must accomplish the commandments given by the Word–God, imitate His love, and bear His Name

Hence, the will of God is the Law, and the Word–God through Whom all came into being, ο Λογος,

–– is the Eternal Doer of the law–will of God,

according to which the heavens and the earth and all multitudes of the living ones in them have been created

{Genesis 1; 2; John 1:1–3}

–– is the only Way and the Truth leading to God

–– is the Life in God

{John 14:6; 17}

–– is the Source of knowledge of the only One True God and Jesus Christ – the Word Whom He sent –

that is the everlasting life

{John 17:3}

–– His presence within the mind empowers the one to accomplish the works of God

{John 14:15–17; 15:1–16}

–– only through fulfilling the law–commandments–words of the Word–God,

the one receives the Holy Spirit, Who gives wisdom and immortality,

and comes to abide with God

{John 6:62–63; 11:25–26; 14:6–26; 15; 16:7–16; 17; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; Isaiah 40:5, 8; 51:4}

What then, is this Law, by which the heavens and the earth have come into being, that will be accomplished completely by their very existence disintegration, and by fulfillment of which the one might obtain the everlasting life?

Answering the question of a lawyer, one from the Pharisees, who wanted to test Jesus Christ’s knowledge of the law {Matthew 22:34–36}, the Lord said:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

This is the first and the great commandment.

The second and like to it,

“you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

In these two commandments all the law and prophets hang…

{Matthew 22:36–40}

Different versions of the Bible [R] interpret the word κρεμανται  [[in: Εν  ταυταις ταις  δυσιν  εντολαις   ολος   ο  νομος  και  οι  προφηται  κρεμανται – Matthew 22:40]] differently: hang in, depend on, or are established on. However, all translations point to love as to holding–binding–sustaining power. This power comes from above and holds/makes possible actualization of the law and the knowledge that are the essence of a particular wholeness–world.

In the contemporary terms, the two great commandments establish love as the cohesive power*6* that holds all the law and the knowledge [[or in which the law and the knowledge revealed through the prophets hang]], by which the world lives*7*.

Thus, the one can understand, why total ruin–death is the end of violations [[e.g., hatred, inflicting pain, suffering, and evil upon the others, murder, deceit, theft, slander, and other evils done to the others]] of the law of love, which is the essence of all the laws and of the knowledge of God {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 28; 30; Isaiah 5:20–26; 9:13–20; 24:3–6; Micah; Habakkuk 2:3–20; Sophonias; Haggai 1:6; 2:22–26; Zacharias 7:9–14}.

Any living wholeness/system disintegrates and dies*8*, if the cohesive power degenerates and discontinues to operate.

Within the world created by God Who is Love, unified by love into the living–evolving wholeness/life, and sustained by love, none of the wholeness/systems is able to survive, if

– the laws, which the wholeness/system accepts as its own, are not derived from love that is from the Absolute Good of God, and do not provide for the good of people*9*

– the knowledge, which the system accepts as the truth, is not derived from the Truth – that is from the knowledge of the only One True God {John 14:6; 17:3}.

Within the world arranged by the time–space–complexity settings*10*, each time–space–complexity setting is controlled by a particular law–derivative of the Absolute Law/will of God.

Although the expressions–manifestations of love to the others are different at different settings, love [[for instance, parent’s love to a child as providing the best education, love as the desire of the maximal good for the society/nation, love as the work for security of the society/state for the sake of protection of the fellow citizens from evil and crimes; love as assistance in development of the manufacturing and other potentials of the impoverished country; love as assistance in defeat of the mortal enemies that deceive, enslave, and murder the others because of the different faiths, religions, and walks of life]] is the universal cohesive power that sustains the wholeness–life of the world.

For all of us who live in family––society––state, love to the others is expressed through our relations, relationships, communications, contacts, and deals with the others, firstly, by fulfilling our responsibilities before them and by expressing our love to them through the deeds of good. These others are members of family, friends, neighbors, co–workers, customers, clients, teachers, educators, pupils, students, instructors, policemen, landlords, tenants, travelers, patients, strangers, new–comers, and all the others – the ones who we meet daily, in a course of our life, and the ones given into our dominion to love, cherish, guard, heal, nurture, educate, take care of, and otherwise provide with the maximal good that is in our discretion to give and in our power to accomplish.

All interactions, deals, deeds, relations, relationships, communications, contacts that are the essence of daily life also provide the possibilities to actualize the one’s faith and love to the others. They also are the building blocks, with which the one either creates the foundation for his immortality*11* – eternity with God or paves his way into the inferno – eternal death–separation*12* from God.

Hence, for the Christian, love unifies the three–level arrangement of the living ones within the world controlled by the evil – within the world, which does not know God and which is not empowered to receive the Holy Spirit {John 14:16–17}

Christian family

Christian community

Kingdom of God

For instance,

a/ love to the neighbor is the second great commandment for men given as the part of the law, on which all laws and knowledge hang {Matthew 22:36–40}; it is the absolute law at the level of interactions within families–societies–other establishments expected to maintain existence, survival, and evolution of human beings

b/ love to each other that imitates love of Lord God Jesus Christ to His Own ones is the new commandment – the new law given as the foundation of Christianity; since, this law defines life of the Christian community and Εκκλησια – Christian Church*13*. Observance of this law distinguishes the Christians as the chosen ones from all the others {John 13:34–35; 15:9–16; 1 Peter 2:1–10, 25}; observance of this law is the absolute criterion by which the true essence of the church is determined and by which the Christian community is recognized

c/ perfect love and unconditional mercy to all creations and all living ones is the love that does not discriminate among the good ones and the evil ones, among those who hate us and who love us; such perfect love and unconditional mercy of the one to the others are imitation of perfection and mercy of God the Father Who causes the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust, and Who is benevolent (χρηστος  εστιν) to the unthankful and evil ones {Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:27–38}. Those who hear the voice of God and therefore, belong to the kingdom of God {John 10:27–30} may be empowered to have such love and mercy to all the others: they are the ones known by God from the beginning; they are called by God through His glory and virtue; they are the ones chosen to know and to follow God, to accept His Word, to live by Him, and to enter the eternity – the new world with God {John 6:37–40, 44–48; 10:27–30; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11; Revelation 21:6–7; 22:1–5, 14}.

Although the expressions–manifestations of love to the others are different at each level of human hierarchies, the essence of all human arrangements is the same: a possibility either to reject or to use the precious gift of faith*14* expressed as the abilities

a/ to love the others

b/ to share with the others blessings given by God

c/ to do all of these [[to love, to share, to accept]] with impartiality, without prejudice, with an ability to put the needs of the others above own material needs {cf. in: James 2; 1 John 3:10–18}.

St. James, St. Peter, St. John, and St. Paul the Apostles have elaborated the meaning of love and explained obligations of the one before the others at the core levels of human establishments [[family, community, society]], within which the one has possibilities, obligations, and blessings to interact with the others, to work for the others, to live among the others.

In particular,

–– faith is revealed by deeds – by the deeds of charity and good for the others:

for the life of faith, the works are the same as the spirit is for the life of a body

{James 2:14–26}

–– through faith and love to Lord Jesus Christ, the one may come to επιγνωσεως*15* – the complete knowledge of God, so the Divine Power of God would bestow upon him all that is needed for life in this world and for godliness that is necessary for preparation for the next phase of existence, in the eternal kingdom of God. The steps leading the one into the eternal Kingdom {2 Peter 1:2–11} are

diligence faith  virtue  knowledge  self–control  patience  godliness brotherly love (φιλαδελφια) love to all the others (αγαπην)

–– the one keeping the commandments of God and having love to the others abides in God and God abides in Him:

–– love to God is proved by accomplishment the commandments–law–words of God

––  love to the others is revealed by the deeds of the good done for the others

–– righteousness and love to the others separate the children of God from the children of the arch–evil:

the children of God do not sin and do not commit lawlessness against the others

the children of God love the brothers,

because

the one not loving the brother remains in death,

and everyone hating the brother is a murderer

{1 John 3:1–24; 4:7–16; 5:1–5}

–– the one loving the other has fulfilled the law, because the commandments concerning relations and interactions with the others – do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not lust – are summed up as this: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does not work evil to the neighbor; then,

love is fulfillment of the law

{Romans 13:8–10}

And I think that although the many evaluate worthiness*16* of the others by their wealth, achievements in different spheres of social, political, research, and other kinds of activities, there is only one universal criterion that determines the true value of a human being: love to the others, which makes a human being ready for the purposes of God.

If the one could ever imagine the world inhabitants of which live by love to the others, would he ever be able to live here, in the world where hatred is the actual meaning of existence, and people do evil, deceive, enslave, and kill the others for the sake of

–– false religions, which serve the arch–evil and wage war against Christianity,

yet which are covered with deceitful proclamations of peace and justice*17*

–– heresies, self–deified men, false gods, and other idols/figments of their imagination*18*

–– false knowledge and pseudo–scientific assertions presented as the truth by the ethics–free sciences*19*

–– phantom of the absolute power and dreams of world–wide domination*20*

–– personal gains and advantages

–– property and reserves that belong to the others

–– other valuables?

How then, the one could make his world – his daily reality similar to the world the essence of which is love?

The practical rule is simple {Luke 6:31, 38}:

a/ do to the others that you desire to be done to you

b/ treat the others in the same way as you wish to be treated

c/ remember that by the same measure that you give to the others shall be given to you

Following this simple rule opens for the one a possibility to discern the image of the Perfect Almighty God the Creator within other human being. Although this image might be clouded with sins and imperfection, still, for every living and breathing one is the hope to be accepted, forgiven, and healed by God. This hope might be ignited with one kind word, by a simple act of mercy, by ability to make clear that the one is seen as the equal and worthy of love and respect one.

However, a Christian always should remember that love, kindness, mercy, and assistance to all who may need them should not be equated with acceptance of their ways of life, their religions, and their beliefs.

A Christian should always imitate love and mercy and benevolence of the Lord.

However, the Lord, Who dined with the sinners, forgave the adulteress, and touched the lepers, neither accepted nor forgave the ignorant in His Law, arrogant, and proud priests, scribes, and the Pharisees – the spiritual harlots, apostates, and hypocrites*21* to whom He referred to as to the “serpents! Offspring of vipers” and who paved their way into the inferno – the eternal death–separation from God

–– with murder and persecution of the prophets and servants of God

–– by rejection of the will/law of God

–– by rejection of the Word–God and acceptance of the heresies and teachings of men

–– by following the rules they invented instead of the commandments of God

–– with service to the “god of this world” and the deeds of evil in imitation of their father – the arch–evil

{Matthew 15:1–20; 23; John 8:34–47}

Although the Christians have to deal with the contemporary priests, scribes and the Pharisees, who might need help and assistance, with the same love and mercy as they deal with their loved ones, their heresies, teachings, and religions must be rejected unconditionally: similarly to as the one would reject the cap with lethal poison [[e.g., as Moses referred to it: the wine produced by the vine of Sodom that carries the rage of serpents and incurable rage of asps {θυμος δρακοντων ο οινος αυτων, και θυμος ασπιδων ανιατος – Deuteronomy 32:16–33}]]. There always should be the inner separation {2 Corinthians 6:14–18} among the one who follows the only One True God and the heathens who live by strange knowledge of “other gods”*22*.

For instance, the ecumenical movement*23* now entered the phase of establishment of one common/universal religion–mixture of Buddhism–Judaism–Islam–etc., covered with wordings from the Holy Scripture. However, there is nothing new under the Sun: such universal religion is the current reincarnation of the ancient Manichaeism*24*.

Mani (A.D. third century, Persia) devised his religion as a mixture of deities, concepts, dogmas, myths, and terminology borrowed from many religions of Asia, Middle East, Greece, and Egypt, and concepts from religious doctrines of Persia, Zoroastrianism, India, Buddhism (transmigration of souls; vegetarianism), Taoism, the remnants of the Egyptian and Greek myths, including elements of the Orphism, etc. –– all these covered with Christian terminology. Obviously, Mani assumed that if the people of Asia, Africa, and Europe find their deities and the concepts on their religions in Manichaeism, they would accept it as the foundation for unification of people and nations and as illumination leading to the universal salvation.

In the ancient Past, Mani’s sacrilegious chimera was rejected by his contemporaries from all religions, which he wanted to unify including Buddhists, Christians, and Jews. Ultimately, Mani was executed as the heretic, and his “religion” remains a convincing example of the worst heresy – the heresy against God the Creator – that ever was composed by human mind deprived of any understanding of God.

The current situation is different, because

heresies, mythical thinking, heathen cults, and superstitions seduced the many

and turned them from the search of knowledge of the only One True God

atheist and godless nations have multiplied

corrupted and ignorant ones gained the positions of power and authority

in political, social, religious, educational, research, and other establishments world–wide

religious beliefs, especially Christian faith, are considered as the obstacle and impediment

for unification of mankind into one herd of slaves living under one global government,

working for the common good of the ruling elite,

and worshiping the false – invented by the elite – gods,

which would keep the slaves in the perfect unreserved obedience

the leaders of the nations have no wisdom, nor abilities, nor power, nor skills,

nor desire to identify the roots of the current problem and to resolve them completely

unprecedented attacks on freedom of speech, religious beliefs, human liberties,

virtues and normal way of life

are unleashed in many countries of Europe, Americas, Africa, and Asia

the scale of fratricidal religious wars and genocides

has exceeded the evils of the previous centuries

incessant wars, conflicts, and terrorism are spreading world–wide

without any hope to be stopped

accumulated weapons of mass destruction,

including nuclear missiles, chemical, biological, and cyber warfare,

leave no expectation of survival for any nation in any corner of the world,

 if the world war is unleashed

the adverse changes of the environment, which are the results of human activities

(e.g., unstoppable pollution of the Pacific Ocean from the Fukushima nuclear plant

built with disregarding earthquake and tsunami risks, deforestation, overfishing, overhunting)

are threatening living beings of the entire planet

sacrilegious experiments with human genetics and manufacturing of human–avian–plant chimeras

triggered adverse mutations of all flesh;

the current results include spread of the avian and animal diseases unto humans,

development of viruses–exterminators, and new incurable diseases

devastating changes of climate,

which are the signs of the coming end of the world as it was said by the Lord

Hence, for the many governments, the only decision of the current conflicts and problems could be de–individualization of human beings and intensely fostered degeneration of human reasoning, starting with elimination of the religious, educational, national, economical, social, racial, sex, and other differences, which the analysts from thinktanks funded by the war criminals and terrorism–supporters, consider as impediments for the spread of their absolute power over the world.

As it could be inferred from the genocide of Christians*17* committed by the Islamic regimes in the Middle East and Africa, from the acts of terrors and crimes committed by Muslim migrants in Europe and their cover–up by EU governments, from the current situation with oppression of Christian faith and human freedoms worldwide, the main directions would be

complete extermination of Christians worldwide

deprivation of mankind of knowledge of the only One True God

elimination of the meaning of norm, national and other factors, which

a/ define natural differences among the people

b/ sustain the meaning of the normal human nature

c/ sustain normal human reasoning

In this time of trials and tribulation, the only Christian’s hope is God. The destinies of the nations are not decided by the rulers and armies:

–– by the Almighty Spirit of God and by the mercy of God this world lives

–– only God determines the place of every nation and destiny of each human being

–– only God knows the day and hour of the ultimate end.

Until then, each moment of Christian’s life should be devoted to God, and each breath should praise the Lord: we, the Christians, have the Lord God and Savior to follow, the Law to observe, and the works of love and mercy to complete.

*6* In theological terms, the cohesive power might be defined as the life–sustaining manifestation and functions of the spirit–divine life–creating energy.

In systems terms, the cohesive power is the main system–maintaining force that

– realizes, directs, and maintains circulation of the intra–system energy–information flow and the information exchange with the environment

– unifies all system’s components into the purposeful wholeness

– regulates creation of new knowledge and circulation of accumulated knowledge.

Significance of the cohesive power for survival of human establishments [[societies, states, empires]] is known since the beginning of times.

For instance, the Chaldeans created the most elaborated system of social and political protection – the universal model, which determined the longevity of the Chaldean–Babylonian civilization (3000~539 B.C.).  In particular, the law issued by the king was the absolute law even in the religious matter; the king himself has no authority to change his own law after it was enacted {Daniel 6:8, 12, 15}. The traces of this model can be detected in Minoan, Egyptian, Greek, and then, Roman structures of the power.

Following the universal model, the heathen societies of the Past held the religious beliefs to be the most important element of the cohesive power (although the doctrines and the deities might be different), which sustains the establishment and defines its strength in the time of peace and prosperity as well as in the time of war and troubles.

In fact, even today, all kinds of establishments [[without exceptions, tyrannies as well as democracies]] follow the ancient Egyptian dogma: the absolute authority to define the beliefs of the subjects and to determine the meaning of truth [[as well as the meaning of good and evil, virtue and sin]] belongs to of the head of the hierarchy – pharaoh–king–ruler–pope–leader. Anyone who challenges the ruler’s authority must be exterminated, exiled, expelled, proclaimed to be either insane or criminal/heretic, that is by any means must be removed from any position of influence on the others.

However, the very fact that a human being – pharaoh–king–ruler–pope–leader – assumes the responsibilities to define the meanings of the good and evil, virtue and sin, truth and false, and then, elevates own definitions at the rank of the laws/articles of faith/knowledge asserted as the only truth, identifies the heathen establishment, within which a self–deified human being attempts to take the place of God.

*20* The phantom of the absolute power is assumption that one human being is capable to exercise the absolute power over mind–conscience–body of other human beings transforming them into unreserved slaves and executors of the leader’s commands. The phantom of the absolute power exists only because of deceit – the false belief that a mortal man [[who is not able to prolong own earthly life]] is able to decide or at least to influence the post–mortem destiny of human soul by imposhis his will onto deities, which his subject worship.

To the contrary, the absolute power over men and all living creatures belongs only to God the Creator: any man/leader/ruler/king/priest that pretends on the power over human soul attempts to elevate himself at the rank of deity –– that id to take the place of God –– and therefore, coerces his dependents–subjects–followers–slaves–citizens to become idol–worshipers.

The Understanding and The Law

Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, and said to them:

Thus it is written, and thus the Christ must suffer and to rise from the dead the third day;

and repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name

to all the nations beginning from Jerusalem

{Luke 24:45–47}

On the first day of the week – the Sunday of the Resurrection, two of the Lord’s disciples were going to Emmaus, small village about 7.5 miles from Jerusalem. While they travelled, they talked to each other relating to Jesus Christ. Coming near, Lord Jesus Christ travelled with them, but their eyes were held do not recognize Him. When the Lord asked concerning the subject of their conversation and their sadness, they told Him

1/ how both – the chief priests and their rulers – delivered to judgment of death and crucified Jesus Christ, to Whom they still referred as to Jesus the Nazarene, a man and the prophet mighty in deed and word before God and the people

2/ that they were hopeful that He is the Redeemer of Israel

3/ that today, on the third day after crucifixion, some of their women came to the tomb and found it empty, while the angels said to them that He is alive {Luke 24:13–24}.

The Lord, referring to them as to the ones unreasonable and slow in heart to believe in all that was spoken by the prophets, asked: was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer and to enter into His glory? Then, He explained them the Scriptures concerning Him, beginning from Moses, and all the prophets. When, near the evening, they reached the village, they asked Him to stay with them. During the supper, taking the loaf He blessed, and breaking the loaf He gave them to eat. Then, their eyes were opened to recognize Him, but He became invisible for them. And they said to one other: was not our heart burning in us as He spoke to us in the way and as He opened up to us the Scriptures?  Then, at the same hour they went back to Jerusalem, and related to the disciples that He spoke to them in the way and how they recognized Him in the breaking of the loaf {Luke 24:25–35}.

As they were talking of that happened to them, the Lord stood in their midst and said to them: Peace to you! {Luke 24:36}.

Then, the Lord said to His disciples {Luke 24:44–47} that all the words He spoke, while being with them, must be fulfilled having been written concerning Him in the law and the prophets and the psalms. Then, He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, and said to them:

Thus it is written, and thus the Christ must suffer and to rise from the dead the third day;

and repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name

to all the nations beginning from Jerusalem

{Luke 24:46–47}

The Lord also said {Luke 24:49} that He sends forth the promise of His Father upon them, but they must stay in Jerusalem until they are clothed with the power from above.

What, then, is the understanding that, in order to receive it, the mind has to be opened up by God?

Today, the one could comprehend the action of God [[opening up the mind for understanding as it was done to the ones who were with the Lord and listened His words {Luke 24:27–32}]] by reading the Holy Scriptures and Epistles of the Apostles. The essence of this action is manifestation of the Almighty Divine Power by Whom the world was created. Hence, the one who has read the Gospels {Matthew; Mark; Luke; John}, which describe the miracles created by God, from Whom the power went out and healed all {Luke 6:19}, might envision the essence of this action: the opening up the mind, which the Lord’s disciples experienced as the instant understanding, is wholeness of the consequent co–related acts:

the will of God to heal the one and to make him His very Own child

by giving him the power of right reasoning–understanding

giving the Divine power from God

that annihilates sins–inabilities–insufficiencies–imperfections of the mind

 [[that is when the one’s heart is burning in him while perceiving the words of God {Luke 24:32}]]

and purifies the mind from the uncleanness of false knowledge,

which debilitates the mind depriving it of the natural feature of a human being created in image of God and likeness:

the power of reasoning–understanding

healing the mind from degeneration caused by the false knowledge

that prevented use of the natural abilities of understanding and reasoning

restoring of the image of God within the mind,

by making it the image of the Word–God and likeness,

so it is would receive the authority to become a child of God

empowered to receive the Holy Spirit, Who  bestows wisdom and understanding

{John 1:1–13; 3:3–6; 14:15–27; 15; 16:7–15; 17; James 1:17–18, 22–25; 1 Peter 1:22–25; 1 John 3:1–2;

Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:4–10, 13–22; 4:17–24; Colossians 1:12–23; 2:2–23}

giving wisdom and understanding

[[that is when the one’s mind is opened up to understand the Scriptures that convey the words of God {Luke 24:32}]]

that the mind absorbs as the arid earth absorbs the life–giving rain

The mind perceives this process as the instant

healing empowerment obtaining clarity of understanding

Today, the one also may obtain the perfection of understanding–reasoning–wisdom: in the road to God, the temporal time–space–other material limits do not exist.

So, the one’s first step is to clear the mind from the poison of the false knowledge*1*, by which the contemporary world lives, and which blinds the eyes of the mind*2* so it becomes unable to perceive the Truth and Light of God. The one should believe that the visible material part of the human universe is just a particle of dust before the threshold, behind which the unknown now eternity awaits its inhabitants. In other words, the one should a/ discover his inner self – the spirit given by God, and b/ realize that {Genesis 2:7; Psalm 36(37); 103(104):29–30; 145(146); Isaiah 26:7–10; 29:13–21, 23–24; 30:1, 8–14; 40:3–31; 45:18–25; 51; 59:1–19; 65:1–17; John 3:3, 5–8; 4:23–24; 6:63; 8:31–47; 14:15–17, 26; 16:7–15; Acts 17:24–28; 1 Peter 4:1–7, 12–19; 2 Peter 2; Jude; Romans 1:18–32; 6:12–23; 2 Corinthians 3; 4; 5; 10:3–5; Galatians; Ephesians; Wisdom}

1/ the visible material world of the material things*3* is not all, by which a human being lives

2/ the one may be empowered to perceive God the Creator and to comprehend the power of His law*4*

            a/ by contemplating the beauty and harmony and wisdom of the living wholeness – the world created by God and given into dominion of man

            b/ by coming through the trials, tribulations, and suffering caused by the evil ones

            c/ by observing the life and death of those who have rejected God, disregarded His law, elevated corruption and unrighteousness at the rank of truth/law, and –– through their ignorance, sins*5*, vice, corruption, and perversion –– have enslaved themselves to the arch–evil and therefore cast themselves into the reality of death, within which they are consumed by the evil and within which their establishments are collapsing burying them under the ruins

3/ the material things, values, possessions, and powers of men are irrelevant to the life of human spirit that exists by the power issuing from God and that is perfected by the Holy Spirit coming in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God.

As St. Paul the Apostle writes {2 Corinthians 4:3–4}, the Gospel is hidden for those who are lost, because “the ruler of this world” [[the arch–evil {Luke 4:5–8; John 8:34–47; 14:30}]] has blinded νοηματα – the reasoning––thinking/creation of conceptual images––consciousness of the unbelieving ones*6*, so the light–radiance (φωτισμον) of the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

Then, if the one earnestly seeks understanding, through which he could obtain wisdom and the knowledge that gives the everlasting life {Proverbs 2:3–12; Wisdom 7; John 12:44–50; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 2–11}, he should start with attentive reading of the Holy Scriptures, which convey knowledge of the law of God: the Gospels {Matthew; Mark; Luke; John} along with the Books of the Prophets and Psalms {The Old Testament}.

The Holy Scriptures are the foundation – the universal all–comprising framework*7* based upon the law, according to which the world was created and exists*8*. This law determines nature, controls existence and the end of the world as well as all the living ones within it. Therefore, thinking–creation of knowledge accommodated by the law–based framework is consistent with the main purposes of each human being: survival at the earth [[until the purposes of existence are accomplished]] and evolution–preparation for the next phase of existence–eternity with God. The knowledge and observance of the law prepares the one for righteousness and directs the righteous one to the complete understanding*9*.

The reading of the Holy Scriptures should be accompanied with the prayer to God {Luke 11:9–13; John 16:26–27; Wisdom 7:1–28}: the one should ask God to give him the understanding by sending His Holy Spirit, Who gives wisdom, as the most precious gift*10* and the greatest treasure that the one could ever have.

If the one has no experience or does not know how to pray God, he should begin with

reading memorizing, and then, silent reciting (in his mind) The Lord’s Prayer {Matthew 6:5–15; Luke 11:1–4} and The Jesus Prayer*11*

These two prayers are fundamental; they embrace all human needs. The one should always have them in mind – either as the current focus of the mind or as the background for contemplation of events and things that he encounters.

The most important activities, through which a human being prepares himself for life according to the law of God, begin with

1/ contemplating the knowledge obtained from the Scriptures

2/ supplication to God:  the plea to grant wisdom and understanding.

These activities do not require material expenditures, demonstrations, obtaining licenses and permission: they are conducted within the mind, before God the Spirit {John 4:23–24}, Who sees the inner essence of everyone. Besides, the one can be comforted with knowledge that the desire to find God and to obtain wisdom are the evidence that God, in His love and mercy, already has blessed the one to take the road leading to the everlasting life in His kingdom {Wisdom 6:12–20; 7; esp., 7:28}.

In summary, the understanding

begins with coming of faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God:

the Word–God sent by God the Father

develops–evolves through focusing on God,

prayer to God,

diligence in acquiring knowledge of Him,

and full–hearted acceptance of His Word

comes to completion through love to God and observance of the law–commandments of God,

starting with imitation of mercy and love of God to all His creations

is crowned with the perfection of the complete knowledge of God and Jesus Christ Whom He sent –

the knowledge that is the everlasting life

{John 1:1–18, 29–34; 3:16–21, 31–36; 6:22–69; 12:44–50; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; Isaiah 55:8–11}

Then, the path of the one is known: it has been paved by all the previous generations of the Christians who passed through the earth on their way into the eternity with God the Creator and Father. This way begins with observance of the law–commandments of God: they are simple to understand, natural for the human heart that, by the very nature, carries them within, and easy to accomplish, because they are the definition of the human nature created in image of the Eternal Almighty and Perfect God {Genesis 1:26–27; Deuteronomy 4:40; 30:10–14; Wisdom 2:23}.

As the prophets said, in the keeping of the commandments is the great reward: they are the light on the earth; they are more desirable than all earthly treasures; they are consolation and life of the soul–heart–mind {Psalm 18(19):7–11; 33(34); 118(119); Isaiah 26:7–10}.

As St. John the Apostle writes {1 John 5:1–5; Revelation 21:7–8; 22:1–15}, love to God is accomplishment of His commandments, which are not heavy to carry out, yet, through them the one overcomes the world, becomes the child of God, and enters His kingdom.

The very process of learning how to observe and how to fulfill the law of God is consolation and strengthening in hope and faith, because it is the process of healing––normalization: restoration of the image of God within the mind that is re–creation of the inner man–essence of human soul–heart–mind*12*, which might be envisioned similar to as the sick one returns to life leaving despair, pain, and suffering of lethal disease behind him {Isaiah 38:10–20}.

Then, the one might consider re–arrangement of his inner life, the life of his mind, so, his daily routine would accommodate

daily reading and contemplation of the Holy Scriptures

diligence in studying the writings of the prophets,

starting with the Books of Moses; Kings; Psalms; Isaiah; and completing with the Book of Malachi

focusing on God and His words

and learning how to apply them within his own daily reality*13*

acquiring faith*14* through development of the abilities to love God and to love all His creations

acceptance of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, with devotion and love to Him,

with diligence in studying of His words, and seeking understanding of them

observance of the law–commandments–words of God and embodiment of the law into own daily reality,

so any violation of the law–commandments–words of God becomes impossible as inconsistent with the human nature

{Exodus 20:1–17; Leviticus 18:4–5; 19:17–18; Matthew 5; 6; 7; 22:36–40; Luke 10:25–37; John 13:34–35; 15:12–17}

imitation of love, mercy, and perfection of God in dealing with the others

{Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:27–49; 10:25–37; John 13:34–35; 15:12}

acquiring the right discernment*15*,

and consequent growth in comprehension and righteousness

completed with development of righteous judgment

entering επιγνωσεως*16* – the state of complete knowledge of God:

the state in which the one, through the Divine Power coming from God, receives everything

needed for life at the earth and for immortality*17* in the kingdom of God

The history of the prophets*18* and the servants destined for the special works of God confirms that, by the will of God, the instant illumination and transcendent abilities are possible, and even before birth into the world {e.g., Jeremiah 1:4–9; Luke 1:15, 41–44}.

The ones who do not receive such miracle of instant enlightenment –– that is all of us, the ordinary people within the world, which is controlled by the arch–evil and which is living by hatred and deception, have

to seek, to find, and to accomplish their way to God:

==========================================

to overcome the material obstacles and to disregard false knowledge, propaganda, and other lies

to learn to love one another as God loves us

{John 13:34–35; 15:12–17}

to assist the others without prejudice, without judgment, without expectation of appreciation,

so, through us, the power of love would freely go out into the world making it the better place,

as the rain descending upon the arid earth sustains life of all trees and plants ––

good and bad, healing and poisonous, fruitful and barren, beautiful and disfigured, normal and perverted

{in: Matthew 5:43–48}

to prepare ourselves for becoming the temple of God

{John 14:15–17, 23–26; 16:7–15; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; 6:19–20},

so, the Divine Fire would come

{Deuteronomy 4:24; Luke 12:49; Hebrew 12:29}

making us wise and invincible

and strengthening our determination to stand above the insufficiencies of the daily life,

hatred, and even suffering inflicted upon us by the evil ones

Perhaps, it would be beneficial for the one who has made a decision to seek faith, knowledge of truth, wisdom, and love, which only Lord Jesus Christ gives, to remember that

a/ the road*19* to God begins with acquiring knowledge of Him by reading the Holy Scriptures, which convey His revelations–commandments–words given through the Prophets, Psalms, Gospels, and in Epistles of His Apostles

b/ the constant prayer to God {1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 4:2–5; Ephesians 6:10–18}, because of which God the Father empowers the one to find the Way to Him, to cognize the Truth, and to obtain the Life {John 6:44–47; 14:6}, keeps the mind invincible, inaccessible for the arch–evil/ruler of this world and its servants – the evil ones that can kill a body {Matthew 10:28–31}, yet are unable to harm the soul that follows God

c/ the steadfast observance of the law–commandments–words of God enables the one to complete his earthly life in righteousness and wisdom – as much as it is allotted by God {Luke 10:19; 11:9–13; 12:49; 18:1–8; John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 4:7–19; Ephesians; Galatians; Colossians; Philippians 3:18–21; 1 Thessalonians 4; 5; 2 Timothy 3; 4:3–5; Revelation 21:7–8; 22:14–15; Psalm 33(34); 67(68); 90(91); 114(116); 118(119)}.

Our Father Who are in heaven! Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;

for Thine is the kingdom and the Power and the glory for ages. Amen.

{Matthew 6:10–13; Luke 11:2–4}

God Himself gave this prayer to His disciples.

In the contemporary terms, this prayer might be likened to the concise code, which identifies the nature, stimulates conditions of existence, sustains existence, and provides the password for identification and the key for entrance/connection of the system (human mind) into/with the realm, to which the system belongs – the kingdom of God.

See The Lord’s Prayer – in Supplement 5 to Archive_Selections_2016.

The Jesus Prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner

The Jesus Prayer is the foundation of the Holy Hesychasm. The Holy Hesychasm is the continuation (the next stage, at which the Name of God was revealed) of the ancient way of prayer and life, which was found by the Old Testament’s Patriarchs and followed by the Hebrew Prophets. In the New Testament times, the tradition ascribes

            – to St. John the Apostle – the foundation

            – to the Desert Fathers, especially St. John Climacus (†649-?), – development and dissemination

                                                            and

            – to St. Gregory Palamas (1296-1359) – completion of the Holy Hesychasm as one of the pillars, on which the Greek Orthodoxy stands.

In brief, hesychasm (from Greek word ησυχια – peace of mind; peace; liberation and quietness that gives peace; tranquil solitude; silence; stillness) is obtaining the state of the inner peace given by Lord Jesus Christ {John 14:27}. Ησυχια is the state of inner silence and focusing–concentration on God, when the soul–heart–mind perceives God and is receiving–absorbing the Divine energy given by God. At the level of the consciousness, this state might be described as the perfect understanding––complete knowledge––wisdom accompanied with freedom and awareness of the eternity as the actual reality of the mind living in God.

In other words, ησυχια is dwelling in the love of God: the harmony of human love to God and love of God to His creation {John 17:23–26}.

For the Christian, nothing in the world could even be compared with the treasure of this peace and freedom that only God gives {John 8:31–32; 14:27; 17:23–26; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18}.
