The Living Water

And the poor and the needy shall exult:

for when they shall seek water, and there shall be none, and their tongue is parched with thirst,

I the Lord God, I the God of Israel will hear and will not forsake them

{Isaiah 41:17}

whoever may drink of the water, which I give him, will never ever thirst,

but the water, which I will give him, will become a fountain of water in him, springing up into everlasting life

{John 4:14}

..a pure river of water of life, brilliant as crystal, coming forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb

{Revelation 22:1}

The Christian teachings concerning the only OneΣ1 True God – the Holy Trinity remains veiled for some minds that live by the material things and that perceive the meaning of power as the physical and mental abilities to manipulate the material objects [[e.g., to launch missiles and to employ other weapons of the mass destruction, to destroy buildings, to kill people]], to actualize the power of coercion through physical impact, to subdue and to deceive the others making them the weapon of the one’s will and the means for achievement of the one’s purposes.

However, the destinies of the world as well of the nations, and as well as of all and each human being at the earth, are not decided by the holders of the physical material, and thus, restricted, limited, and temporal power. The world was created, exists, and will be ended by God the Spirit, Who has revealed Himself to His creations as the indivisible Almighty Oneness–Unity of the Absolute Will–Law, Superlative Power, and Omnipotent Energy:

           God the Father

             ↓                     ↓

   God the Son, the Word-God         God the Holy Spirit

So, how the one could understand the meaning of the Oneness, if the mind deprived of the original wholeness and exiled into the cursed/downgraded earthΣ2 has learned to operate with the false knowledge, harbors misconceptions, and consequently, perceives the law, power, and energy as different realities?

How then, to comprehend that the law–will of God, the life–creating power, and the energy of life are the inseparable wholeness, and the law that is behind the world of the material things, yet that creates and sustains life within the world of the material things, indeed, determines

life

[[life when the energy–power sustains existence]]

and

collapse degeneration disintegration death

[[collapse degeneration disintegration death, when the life–sustaining energy leaves,

because the mind has rejected the law and is transforming itself into the perverted degenerated being

incapable of receiving and holding the power–energy that sustains normal life]]

of any living being – a mighty king as well as the most insignificant pauper?

In the waterless and scorched by the sun deserts of the Middle East, the water and life are synonyms. So, the prophet spoke of his thirstΣ3 for life, when he employed the words related to the physical thirst – the thirst of body/flesh – in the parched trackless desert: “O God, my God, I cry to Thee early; my soul has thirsted for Thee,” and “I spread forth my hands to Thee, my soul as the arid athirst earth” {Psalms 62(63):1; 142(143):6}. However, this thirst is the thirst of the soul – the thirst for the breath of God: for the Spirit of life and Truth that only God gives {Genesis 2:7; John 14:16–17, 24; 16:7, 13–15}.

Then, the prophets referred to the well of salvation, fountain of the living water out of the house of the Lord, Who is the Holy One of Israel, and conveys the promise of God to hear the poor and the needy ones that are thirsty {Isaiah 12:2–6; 41:17; 44:3–4; Joel 3:18}.

When the time of fulfillment of the promise of God came, and Lord Jesus Christ began His mission, He spoke of the living water springing up into the eternal life, and of birth from above: the birth out of the water and the Spirit that empowers man to perceive and to find the kingdom of God. The Lord called to Himself all those who are thirsty promising the river of the living water and resurrection {John 3:3–8; 4:7–14; 6:37–40; 7:37–38; 10:27–30; 11:25–26; Isaiah 44:3–4}.

The last mentioning of the living water is in the Book of Revelation: the water of life that God gives freely to the thirsting ones, and the pure river of the living water brilliant as crystal coming forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb {Revelation 21:5–6; 22:1}.

The reference to the throne of God and of the Lamb, from which the river of life is coming forth, re–iterates the Oneness of our God –– the Holy, Holy, Holy Lord Sabaoth (Κυριος  Σαβαωθ  – the Lord of Hosts), the Lord Almighty (Παντοκρατωρ)  Who was and is and is coming –– as the Triune Unity of

God the Father, from Whom the Holy Spirit proceeds,

and

His only begotten Son, the Word–God,

Who is known to men as Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer – the Lamb

Who took away the sin of the world

{John 1:29–34; 10:30; 14:6–10; 17; 1 John 5:5–7; Revelation 1:4–18; 22:1; Isaiah 6:1–3}

The reference to creation of life, of which the prophet said: Thou shall send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created, and Thou shall renew the face of the earth {Psalm 103(104):30}, provides the last definition needed for understanding of the meaning of the living water in the context of the Holy Scriptures.

The living water, or the water of life, or the pure river of the water of life, is the reference to the life–creating and life–sustaining Divine Energy of

the Holy Spirit

–– Who is the Source of life at the earth

–– Who is the Source of the eternal life

–– Whose presence in a human being is immortality

–– Who gives knowledge and wisdom,

with which the mind discovers the kingdom of God within

and claims its road into the eternity with God

In the Christian teachings defined by the words of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and explanations of His Apostles {The New Testament}, the essence of which is postulated by The Nicean CreedΣ4, God the Holy Spirit, Who proceeds from God the Father, is referred to as the Third Hypostasis of the Holy Trinity – of the only One True God Who is the Spirit, and Who revealed Himself to His creations as the Undivided Unity–Oneness of God the Father, God the Son – the Word God, and the Holy Spirit {Genesis 1:2; Matthew 3:16–17; Mark 1:9–10; Luke 3:21–22; John 1:29–34; 10:30; 14:6–10; 17:21, 23–26; 1 John 5:7}.

At the level of the created world, this Divine Unity might be comprehended as the act of actualization of the undivided wholeness and inseparable unity of the will–lawΣ5, power, and energy through which a living being – the evolving wholeness – comes to life.

For instance, the firstfruit of a new creation of God is a child of God, a living temple of the living God. The child of God comes into being because of the will of God and prepares himself for the eternity – evolvesΣ6 – by

observing the law–commandment–words of God

living by faithΣ7, by the words of the Word–God, and by love:

by love to God, and by love to all creations of God

receiving wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit sent by God the Father

according to the promise of the Word–God

given to those who love Lord Jesus Christ by observing His commandments–words

Hence, the one might infer that the child of God comes into being by the Unity of the Divine will/law–power–energy: according to the will of God the Father, he is born by the Word of Truth, receives from the fullness of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and lives by the Holy Spirit {John 1:1–18; 3:3–21, 35–36;  6:63; 14; 15; 16; 17;  James 1:17–18; 1 Peter 1:22–25; 1 John; Ephesians, esp. 2:10; Galatians; Colossians, esp. 1:11–22}.

Thus, the Old and New Testament images of the living water and the river of the water of life refer to the omnipotent Divine energy that proceeds from God the Almighty and that, according to the will/Law of God and by the Almighty Power of God,

creates life

sustains existence of all the living ones and the entire reality–universe that accommodates their existence

gives immortalityΣ8,

by empowering the one to evolve for the eternal life and to enter the presence of God

The one who desires to receive the Omnipotent Divine energy that the mind temporarily accommodated within the temporal material world perceives as life, wisdom, complete understanding, and complete knowledge of God, has to become the likeness of the Word–God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια – the embodiment of the law of God. There is no other way to God besides the Way of the Word–God {John 6:44–46; 14:6}, because He is the Image of God the Spirit and the Eternal Doer of the will and works of God Who has been revealed to the living ones as the embodiment of the will/law of God acting with the power–energy of God, as the Image of God, as Wisdom and Glory of God, and as the example for imitation {Matthew 5:17–18; John 1:1–3; 4:34; 5:17, 19–23, 30, 36; 6:38; 8:26–29; 11:25–26, 40; 12:4–50; 13:15–16, 34–35; 14:6–27; 15:12; 16:7–16; 1 John 3; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:1–10; Colossians 1:10–22; Psalm 106(107):19–20; 147:16–20; Wisdom}.

Hence, the words of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, are the Absolute law for the Christians: they compose the universal pattern/code that defines life of the living ones that will enter the eternity in presence of God the Spirit, because they are empowered to live by the Holy Spirit.

If the one does not live in compliance with the law of God, he is not capable of receiving the Holy Spirit, because his soul–heart–mindΣ9 has no Word–Image–Seal of God [[receiver {cf. in: John 5:38, 42; 8:37–51}]] upon which the Divine Power might descend.

Consequently, he is not able to come to complete understanding and complete knowledgeΣ10, through which the one

a/ receives all needed for survival at the earth

b/ obtains godliness and wisdom for understanding of the purposes of life and accomplishment of them

c/ is empowered to accomplish evolution and to be prepared for the eternity with God

Consequently, he is not able of the eternal life in the presence of God the Spirit [[because there is no Spirit of God within him]]. Therefore, his destiny is the darkness of eternal alienation from God {John 3:16–21, 36; Revelation 21:7–8; 22:15}.

The promise of Lord Jesus Christ to resurrect the ones who believe in Him and who live by His words is the promise of the Holy Spirit Whom God the Father sends to those who live by His Son, by the Word–God {John 3:16–21, 36; 6:37–40, 44–47; 11:25–26; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11; Galatians; Ephesians}. Although at moment of physical deathΣ11 – separation of the spirit and body, the Christians–followers of Lord Jesus Christ have to die–pass through the threshold between the temporal world and the eternity, they live forever {John 11:25–26}, because the Spirit of God within them is the immortality.

And I think that if to accept that, at the level of human mind, the presence of the Holy Spirit [[and therefore, the state of being empowered to accept the Divine Energy that opens up the eternity]] might be identified through knowledge and wisdom, which the one has, could then, the one find even the smallest trace of the Divine wisdom in the current knowledgeΣ12 that feeds the mind of the many, reflects the life of societies, nations, states, and establishments, and [[in theory]] should unify and direct them toward achievement of the common purposes of survival and development?

The mind operates–lives–exists by knowledge; it lives within the reality of knowledge [[or operates within the knowledge framework]] similarly to as a fish lives in the water: it perceives, absorbs, creates, and disseminates knowledge, which is its food and its fruit. Hence, the daily knowledge, with which the mind feeds itself, defines its life and health similarly to as bread and water define health and life of a body: clean pure water and bread give life {John 4:7–14; 6:32–69; 17:3; Revelation 22:1}; polluted and poisoned water and bread debilitate and lead to death.

For instance, if to analyze the contents of the currents of knowledge that composes the cohesive powerΣ13 of families, societies, establishments, states, nations, which is expected to unify all of them into the evolving wholenesses, would the one with unbiased mind find any wisdom, and therefore the power to survive evolve in them?

In particular, daily news, speeches of politicians, and information–communications carried by the mainstream and social media became the flood of lies, politically correct misery of degenerated reasoning, and desperation. The flow of information–knowledge [[contents of the cohesive power]] carries the products of the degenerated, collapsing, and decomposing human minds, in which

–– there are no love to the others, human kindness, understanding of the meaning of life,

understanding of the past and the present and the vision of the future

–– there are no information and knowledge that would inspire natural thirst for dignity, perfection, and freedom

–– there are no information and knowledge that would sustain development and secure the better tomorrow

–– there is no power that makes possible survival and secures development of people, societies, and nations, –

All that because there is no Truth and therefore, there is no adequate knowledge of the actuality

The streams of communications in the social and other channels of media opened to public comments are full of mutual insults, scolding, name calling, and lack even the lightest civility; bad language and rudeness, which are the unambiguous signs of mental degenerationΣ14, have taken place of civility and clear logic of convincing arguments based upon knowledge of the actuality. In general, propaganda and lies, which are disseminated by the trolls of political factions, “occupy”–like movements, and propagandists trained after bolshevist model, already took the place of the free speech; civil exchange of opinions and points of view is no more.

In the same time, any mention of God, any appeal to human dignity and civility, and any attempt to exercise the freedom of religion and freedom of expression trigger the flood of mockery and insults.

In addition, if to take into consideration that even mentioning of God became the worst sin in the current politically correct society, educational and political institutions, there is no foundation for any hope, any justified expectation of any positive change, any confidence that tomorrow life will be better that the present, that children – the next generation – will be born normal or will be born at all, and that they will have human dignity or even complete their life as human beings, not as human–pigs–rodents–viruses–computer chimeras.

Then, could the one have any justified hope of positive changes and normalization of political and social life, if the indispensable components of normal human life – faith in God, knowledge of God, love to God, and love to the creations of God are no more?

What then, could help the people who desire to restore human dignity and ideals of the free society, if they do not understand that for the rejection of God and violation of the law of God human beings and their establishments may expect only one end {Deuteronomy 28; 30}: disgrace, impoverishment, collapse, total ruin, conquest by the internal and outer enemies, and deathΣ15?

Only faith in God and the pure river of the knowledge of God carrying life and salvation can wash away the human corruption, lies, misery and disrespect to each other and all the others that now are the main contents of knowledge, which the mainstream and social media carries, and by which the godless societies poison themselves debilitating the last remnants of the already impotent and degenerated reasoning.

And I think that only the miracle of God can restore the Spirit of Truth and to fill the mind with understanding of the actuality and knowledge of life. Yet, if the one desires such a miracle, he should seek God and ask Him for salvation and giftΣ16 of understanding and knowledge {Luke 11:5–13}.

God promised His salvation and the river of the living water only those who, by their own free will, come to Him, while the destiny of the ones separated from Him by their sins is wretchedness and gloom of collapsed reasoningΣ17, void of understanding, destruction and misery of the crooked ways on which there is no truth nor righteousness nor understanding {Isaiah 59:1–15}. Indeed, the current reality of the mind of many is the desolate parched trackless desert. Without water of life and without any hope to find it, they are lost in wilderness: they have no power to find the way out, they are dying, and there is no one to help.

Hence, could it be any hope, any reasonable justified expectation that the current disgrace of lies, false knowledge and misconceptions, in which social, political, and educational institutions of our country are immersed, would ever be restored into the glory of the great country – the land of the free that live by the law of God and pursues actualization of the human ideals starting with love, mercy, and kindness to each other?

Σημειωσεις  –  Notes:

Σ1 In the phrase τον μονον αληθινον Θεον {John 17:3}, the Greek word μονον usually is translated as “only”: “the only true God”; thus, the entire logic block is interpreted as “the only true God.” However, μονον is also a derivative of two roots: 1/ μονο–  one, alone, and no–one else, only, and 2/ εν/εις primary word for numeral one, only.

Therefore, the complete meaning of τον μονον αληθινον Θεον  is “the only One True God.”

Such translation is confirmed by the words of Lord God Jesus Christ:

Εγω και ο Πατηρ εν εσμεν  –

I and the Father One are

{in: John 10:30; 14:6–10; 17:21, 23–26}

St. John the Apostle writes {1 John 5:7}:

ο Πατηρ, ο Λογος, και το Αγιον Πνευμα: και ουτοι οι τρεις Εν εισι –

the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and These Three One is

Therefore, translation of τον μονον αληθινον Θεον {John 17:3} as “the only One True God” conveys the essence of the monotheistic theology – the Christianity that is the ultimate knowledge of God the Father given and explained by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, Whom He has sent for salvation of the world {John 1:1–18; 3:16–18; 6:39–40; 10:17–18, 30; 12:44–50; 14:6–11; 17}

Σ2 In Genesis 3:18, God speaks of επικαταρατος η γη – cursed/downgraded/destabilized earth.

Within the new setting (cursed/downgraded/destabilized earth) arranged for human cognition of the evil [[see The Point of Entry – in the text of Archive_Selections_2016]],

a/ false knowledge might be produced, offered as the truth, accepted by men, and let to circulate within human establishments – societies, religious, political, research, educational, and other institutions

b/ the establishments, within which the cohesive power – knowledge that should sustain wholeness–life, survival, and development of establishments – carries the false knowledge inadequate to the human nature, nature of the world, and daily reality of societies, states, nations, undergo collapse and disintegrate

c/ the debilitated by false knowledge mind has to pass through the cycle of extermination:

acceptance of false knowledge → collapse of reasoning → perversion → degeneration → death

In theological terms, the cohesive power might be defined as the life–sustaining manifestation/function of the spirit/divine life–creating energy.

In systems terms, the cohesive power is the main system–maintaining force:

– it realizes, directs, and maintains circulation of the intra–system energy–information flow and the information exchange with the environment

– it unifies all system’s components into the purposeful wholeness

– it regulates creation of new knowledge and circulation of accumulated knowledge.

The cohesive power is manifested through the flow of data–information–knowledge, which circulates within the system and supplies the system’s components with data–information–knowledge that sustain and control their existence.

Any interruption of the normal processes of knowledge creation–consuming–transmitting within a system triggers degeneration of the cohesive power. Any degeneration of the cohesive power activates the collapse, firstly, by triggering the processes of disintegration of the wholeness–system/establishment/state/nation, which gradually is transformed into an assembly of different groups/parties/subsystems/organizations with irreconcilable differences and thus, contradictory purposes.

Significance of the cohesive power for survival of human establishments [[societies, states, empires]] is known since the beginning of times. For instance, the Chaldeans created the most elaborated system of social and political protection – the universal model, which determined the longevity of the Chaldean–Babylonian civilization (3000~539 B.C.).  In particular, the law issued by the king was the absolute law even in the religious matter; the king himself has no authority to change his own law after it was enacted {Daniel 6:8, 12, 15}. The traces of this model can be detected in Minoan, Egyptian, Greek, and then, Roman structures of the power.

Following the universal model, the heathen societies of the Past held the religious beliefs to be the most important element of the cohesive power [[although the doctrines and the deities might be different]], which sustains the establishment and defines its strength in the time of peace and prosperity as well as in the time of war and troubles.

In fact, even today, all kinds of establishments without exceptions, tyrannies as well as democracies, follow the ancient Egyptian dogma: the absolute authority to define the beliefs of the subjects and define the meaning of truth –– as well as the meaning of good and evil, virtue and sin –– belongs to of the head of the hierarchy: pharaoh–king–ruler–pope–leader. Anyone who challenges the ruler’s authority must be exterminated, exiled, expelled, proclaimed to be either insane or criminal/heretic, that is by any means must be removed from any position of influence on the others.

Σ4 The Nicean Creed is the Confession of the Christian Faith that defines the essence of Christian religion; it was composed in 325, by The First Ecumenical Council of Nicea:

“The Nicean Creed:

I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages.

Light of light, true God of true God, begotten not created, of one essence with the Father, through Whom all things were made.

For us and for our salvation, He came down from heaven and was incarnated by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.

Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and He suffered and was buried, and on the third day He rose according to the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

And He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father,

Who together with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.

In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.

I expect the resurrection of the dead. And the life of the age to come, Amen.”

Σ5 In the contemporary terms, law might be defined as the main code for creation, maintenance, control, and annihilation of purposeful developing entities–systems–living beings.

The Universe is an embodiment of the creative energy of God. At the levels accessible for the human mind, the divine creative energy is the source of the universal energy: the energy that is available for creation and maintenance of existence of realities and systems within the world perceivable by human senses.

The universal/main pattern–code of energy transformations – the law – defines the nature, time–range of existence, way of disintegration, and other parameters of the universe composed of the energy and its derivative – the matter structured at the different levels of complexity.

The law might be envisioned as the main code according to which, within the chaos/pool of reserves, the purposeful system–reality–universe is arranged/comes into being. The chaos/pool of reserves consists of the derivatives of universal energy: the energy forms, reversible units energy←→matter, reversible and irreversible structured matter – elements, force fields, and other components necessary for creation and sustaining of life.

Life is the purposeful cycles of transformation of the divine energy of creation/universal energy at the different levels of complexity; these cycles of energy transformation are completed with creation of purposeful developing wholenesses/living beings accommodated within time–space–complexity settings.

The unity of three inseparable correlated components is needed for any act of creation [[creation is actualization of the law–code]], including creations of a living being:

1/ law→code

2/ energy→source of all forms of the energy and its derivatives, such as energy fields and energy–information–matter, from which the perceivable visible universe/world consists

3/ power→force→will→ability to apply/transform/use energy according to the law/code:

  LAW

  ⇓

   ENERGY POWER

The law controls the nature of each wholeness/system/reality/living being that exists for a purpose; a purpose is to actualize the set of transformations of the universal energy at particular level(s) of complexity. The essence and meaning of purposes, conditions, and results of energy transformations define the system’s nature.

In general, the law has three main functions:

1/ creation of a purposeful wholeness

2/ maintenance of the compliance–harmony–compatibility of all components of a system → reality ←→ universe ← wholeness to the conditions, which sustain life and make possible

development → evolution of the system → reality ←→ universe ← wholeness

3/ annihilation of the system → reality ←→ universe ← wholeness, which deviated from the law and became incompatible with the (super)system ←→ (super)reality ←→ (super)universe that has accommodated its creation and within which it was intended to accomplish the purposes for the sake of which it was created.

When a being/system deviates from the main pattern/code/law that describes the meaning, conditions, and results of its existence, it perverts own nature and becomes unable to access the energy that otherwise would sustain its existence. Hence, the main pattern/code/law stipulates not only the life–sustaining processes; it carries the program of annihilation, which is activated when the being/system perverts own nature and becomes incompatible with the supersystem that accommodates its existence. Therefore, the universal law defines life and death of each being/system:

existence → evolution/development of optimal potency

and

degeneration annihilation

The universal law also is referred to as the universal law of perfection, because it defines the optimum – e.g., the highest potency of creation of the highest good – of each system/being and directs each system/being toward the optimum; it provides one universal standard – the pattern of perfection as a derivative of the Absolute Good for each level of complexity {for instance, for a human being: to be perfect, as heavenly God the Father is perfect – Matthew 5:48} defined by the Word–God, Λογος/Αγια Σοφια {Matthew 5:17–19; 22:37–40; John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Consequently, the meaning of universality and perfection is compliance with the commandments–words of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God Who is the only Truth, the only Law, and the only Way of reasoning and fulfilling the law for the human mind that aspires to enter the eternity in the presence of God {2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 John; Ephesians 1; 2; Colossians 1; 2; 1 Corinthians 2:16; Revelation 22:1–5}.

Σ6 The processes defining evolution of the human mind include

–– cognition of evil and good

–– development of the potency to distinguish and to choose the good

–– becoming the embodiment of the Absolute Good – the temple of Living God.

To the contrary, outcome of the anti–evolution is cognition of the ultimate evil, perversion–degeneration, and becoming embodiment of the ultimate evil – death.

Concerning evolution and anti–evolution, see Notes 67 and 69 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ7 Faith is the optimal state of human reason/intelligence; otherwise, Lord God would not seek it in His creations. Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God, seeks faith on the earth {Luke 18:8; John 9:35–39; 11:25–26}, because He is της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Hebrews 12:2}. By identifying faith on the earth {man is earth – Genesis 3:20}, the Lord identifies His very Own possession – a human being – that is His from the beginning and that He wants to collect, to heal, to redeem, and to bring home {in: Luke 15:1–10; John 10:1–30; 15:27; 17:6, 16; 1 Peter 1:17–25; Romans 8:28–30; Ephesians 1:3–23; Isaiah 42:16; 43:1–4}.

Σ8 Immortality is presence of God the Spirit within a human being. See Note 33 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ9 During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, of whom St. Peter the Apostle and St. Paul the Apostle write: ο κρυπτος της καρδιας ανθρωπος – the hidden heart of man {in: 1 Peter 3:4}, and the inner man who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται  – day by day, while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed {in: 2 Corinthians 4:16}, is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God.  St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι – 1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη – 1 Corinthians 3:9} – the space prepared for the works of God.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components [[subsystems]] of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels of complexity [[that is with different derivatives of the Divine energy: wisdom, knowledge, information]]: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμα–φρονημα–λογισμος.

The highest level or “the depths of soul” or the core of “the heart” is intellect – νους, through which the mind knows God – Λογος – and receives from the Creator the spiritual knowledge – γνωσις  – and wisdom – σοφια.   Γνωσις and σοφια  both are the gifts of God: the spiritual knowledge is silent contemplation of God and the special state. During this state, the mind accesses the divine energy of creation, which sustains the mind’s life, while wisdom empowers the reason and makes possible cognition of God’s creations.

Hence,

1/ the heart is a definition for the spiritual center, the essence of a human being, the singularity in which the union between the divine and the human is consummated, or in which the divine becomes thoughts, words, and deeds of man

2/ cognition is the state in which the divine energy of creation is transformed into the thoughts and knowledge.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμα–φρονημα–λογισμος [[see Chart 1. The Mind, in Note 48 to this file, Archive_Selections_2016]]

When the theological subtleties are not a subject of consideration, I use a brief contemporary and all–including (because a human being is the wholeness) definition – the mind.

See  The Mind and Creation of Man: Process in The Works of God.

Concerning complexity: in general sense, complexity is the universality of knowledge, which is embodied/actualized into the entirety of processes defining life of the world. See Notes 46 and 92 to Archive_Selections_2016, and Introduction to the Systems Logic

Σ10 See The Understanding and The Law – in text of Archive_Selections_2016.

Complete knowledge –– επιγνωσεως in: 2 Peter 1:3 –– is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition : the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to work according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {2 Peter 1:2–11; conf. in: John; esp. in: John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Thus, the essence of επιγνωσεως – complete knowledge of God, is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness {2 Peter 1:3–4; Colossians 1:10–23}.

Επιγνωσεως reveals itself [[or might be identified]] as possession of the mental power to achieve the purposes, for the sake of which the one has been born:

to survive, that is to preserve life of reasoning–intelligence–mind

by protecting it from the false knowledge, deceit, and enslaving with false religions

to come to the complete knowledge of the Absolute Good

to evolve for the next phase of existence in the eternity with God

Σ11 See Concept of death in Note 28 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ12 Knowledge is the power to think, to speak, to act. Only if the mind comprehends the law that defines and controls the nature (the nature of man, the nature of the world that accommodates existence of man, and the nature of events and things that might be a subject of interest), the mind obtains the actual power to act and to achieve its purposes. Any human knowledge is true if it gives the actual power to act purposefully, efficiently, and successfully.

Concerning knowledge and the knowledge framework, see Notes 39, 82, and 41 to Archive_Selections_2016

Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God. In practical sense, wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

Wisdom might be also defined as comprehension of the Law of God and the subsequent ability to observe the Law: to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law of God into daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

Wisdom is given by the Holy Spirit Who comes because of the Word–God, the Holy Wisdom of God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια – to the one who has faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, who loves God, who accepted the knowledge of God, and who proved his love to God with observance of His commandments and with the deeds of good {John 14:14–26; 15:10–17; 17; 1 John 3; 4}.

See Note 9 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ13 Cohesive power is the flow of information–knowledge that unifies elements into a system focused on survival and achievement of some purposes. See Introduction to the Systems Logic and Note 120 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ14 In general, the meaning of degeneration of the human nature/reasoning includes an inability to perceive the true meaning of everything, an inability to seek God, and an inability to find God in each of His creations; all these inabilities are the consequences of

1/ deprivation of knowledge of God followed with violations of the Law of God – The Ten Commandments

2/ evil inflicted upon the others.

Deprivation of the true knowledge of God leads to insufficiency of a particular, vital, knowledge – the knowledge of own nature and of the world, in which the mind has to survive and to accomplish its mission. In this case, mind is barred from access to the divine energy of creation (which is accessible through the faith). Consequently, the mind has no choice but to revert into the regime of insufficiency: it feeds itself with the surrogate – images of the matter/flesh, which are perceived/processed by the matter/flesh – and creates insufficient thoughts inadequate to the complexity of the considered subject (e.g., the drugs developed through the experiments on animals and then, applied to human beings trigger off the disorders, which are much worse than the diseases they claim to cure).

 Ultimately, the mind becomes unable to ascent to the levels of complexity appropriate to its nature: it becomes insufficient/sick and then, it is transformed into the living dead trapped within the evil time – the reality of death. Lord God refers to such minds as to those who see and hear, yet, do not perceive/comprehend, so, they do not turn to God that He would heal them {Matthew 13:10–15; John 12:38–41; Isaiah 6:9–10}.

Degeneration has many ugly faces, and although it might be accomplished through different processes, there are some general or common stages; for instance,

–– a being begins to experience insufficiency; e.g., lack of proper judgment, inabilities to choose adequate purposes, to act adequately to the purposes, to identify problems and to make the right decisions

–– insufficiency, which develops because of incompliance with the Law, triggers incompatibility with the nature of the surrounding world; this incompatibility is referred to as perversion or degeneration

–– the being with the perverted–degenerated nature becomes either an instant threat to the surrounding (environment, other peoples and their establishments) or a core of latent destructive processes, which might spread over all connected systems

––  poor health: mental and physical disorders, illness

–– the next step is either annihilation through activation of own program of self–destruction (e.g., suicide) or termination by the others, because all systems (e.g., the Earth, the world, empire, state, religion, society) have the common property: they do not sustain existence of any being, which is not consistent with their nature and which by own degeneration threatens their existence or well–being.

A perverted being, which became inadequate to the conditions of continuing existence, has no alternative but to die. However, physical death is not the only consequence of perversion; besides, such a death never is instant and merciful. Spiritual and physical slavery (e.g., inability to sustain own freedom of choice and freedom of thinking), bestialization, loss of clarity of perception and weakening of the power of reasoning, incurable debilitating diseases and prolonged suffering are just some of the symptoms of degeneration triggered by the perversion–insufficiency resulting from the violations of the Law of God.

The Destiny of Nation

…Blessed is the nation (εθνος) of the Lord God…

{Psalm 32(33):12}

The Holy Scriptures facilitate understanding of the meaning and role of nation, and consequently, lead to comprehension of the future – the destiny of nation.

Initially, when people began to populate the post–Flood earth {Genesis 11:1–4}, they all have one common language. Moving from the east, they came to dwell in the plain, in the land of Senaar, where Babylon and Archad were built later {Genesis 10:10}. In this land, they decided to build for themselves the city and the tower, whose head shall be to the heavens, and to make to themselves a name before they are scattered abroad, all over the earth.

The Lord came down to the earth to see the city and the tower built by the sons of men {Genesis 11:5–6}, and He said: there is one race, and one lip of all, and they have begun to do this, and now nothing shall stop them in all that they have undertaken.

So {Genesis 11:7–8}, the Lord has confound their tongue that they may not understand the voice of neighbor, and scattered them all over the face of the earth. Consequently, they abandoned maintenance of their undertaking: as the prophet would say later {Psalm 126(127):1}, if God does not build (οικοδομηση) the house, the builders labor in vain.

So, why actions of the people of one–race–and–one–lip triggered such manifest intervention of God into the human affairs?

The reason of language confusion could not be just a city even with the tower reaching the sky. Since, great quantity of tall structures far from, near, and within cities have been built, starting with pyramids of Egypt and finishing with skyscrapers of Gulf cities, yet none of them triggered another language confusion.

Evidently, the structure itself could not be the reason of the language confusion; the knowledge behind could.

In spite of the very short description of this event {Genesis 11:1–9}, the employed wordsΣ1 allow understanding of the reality of one–race–one–lip people who reached some degree of unification needed for complete accomplishment of some purposes.

At first, they should have mutual similarity–commonality of the minds needed to carry out and materialize some knowledge that would sustain some social–political [[city with tower]] establishment–temple–dwelling–fatherland for magnifying–extolling–worshiping themselves, so their name/glory would reach the heavens and nothing will escape from them in accomplishment of their undertakings/purposes. Such similarity–commonality could not exist without the common knowledge, common outlook, and common way–manner of life.

Furthermore, for some reasons, God did not approve the similarity–commonality of all minds and their unity, mutual consent and understanding in their all–inclusive [[nothing would escape from them {Genesis 11:6}]] undertaking/endeavor. Any similarity–commonality, unity, common undertaking/endeavor is the result of particular knowledge.

In particular, the main law is love, because God is Love {1 John 4:8, 16}: love to God and love to the others is the main Law, on which all the laws and revelations of the prophets hang {Matthew 22:37–40}.

The one’s love to the others is not possible without

1/ understanding that by the very nature, the others are similar to the one, because all human beings are created in image of God and likeness and therefore, they may be the one’s brothers and sisters as all children of God are, even if they still do not come to understanding that they can have the authority to become children of God {John 1:1–13}; thus, love to other creations of God, firstly, is founded on knowledge of God the Creator

2/ knowledge of the others, even if this knowledge is the fruit of understanding of their weaknesses and inner evil that is nested within them, and even if this knowledge prevents the one from formal or apparent association with the others {e.g., in: 1 Corinthians 10:20–23; 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; 2 Timothy 2:19; Titus 1:14–16}.

Hence, love and knowledge do not exclude the mutual similarity – they are the foundation of it: they sustain the ability to consider the others as similar and equal by the inner human essence, in spite of color of their skin, color of their eyes, and other differences invented by men seeking superiority over all the others.

Therefore, knowledge derived of love and understanding of mutual similarity is the main condition of the unity, unions, cooperation, and progress in all human affairs and endeavors.

As the Lord said {Matthew 12:25}, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to ruin.

Similarly, all human establishments collapse without the cohesive powerΣ2 – without the knowledge that sustains unity–wholeness and focuses it on the mutual purposes, for instance, such as survival, prosperity, and life in dignity and abundance of the good.

However, the unity founded upon the false knowledge, which is invented by the mind that a/ has rejected God, b/ incessantly is brooding on the evil, and c/ lives by figments of human imagination, is the advanced weapon of self–annihilation.

 Thus, the main reason of the language confusion should be knowledge. Evidently, materialization–embodiment of this knowledge into the system–establishment [[πολις και πυργος]]Σ1 created by the one–race–one–lip people for their own glorification was not consistent with the will of God.

What, then, was this knowledge?

The only knowledge in possession of one–race–one–lip people before the Babylon confusion would be the remnants of knowledge, for which the first Earth was destroyed plus the knowledge created after the Flood, yet, within the same knowledge frameworkΣ3.

The fact that the knowledge of the first Earth survived in the memory of spared people might be inferred from the story concerning the curse casted by Noah on CanaanΣ4.

Hence, the knowledge, which one–race–one–lip people decided to materialize–embody into their establishment, was not the knowledge of the law of God and the nature of the world: they have no knowledge of God and Truth; otherwise {Genesis 6:6–14}, in the pre–flood Earth

a/ all flesh would not corrupt its way upon the earth

b/ the earth would not be filled with iniquities, corruption, and evil

c/ the καιροςΣ5 of the earth as the necessity of annihilation would not come before God

Consequently, to prevent re–establishment/reincarnation of the pre–Flood earth, the mind of the one–race–one–lip people has to be modified–opened for other languages as the alternative ways of creation and accumulation and dissemination of new knowledge. This new knowledge, which they should find–accept–create, had to differ from the knowledge of evil and iniquities of their predecessors. It had to be the knowledge, with which the people of the post–Flood earth would became able to actualize the second chance given by God {Genesis 6:6–8, 13–19; 7; 8; 9:1–17} and to focus on the good, while the people of the pre–Flood earth, who were the flesh {Genesis 6:4, 6}, were focused on the evil.

In other words, the one–race–one–lip people have to begin the process of civilization, and this process was initiated with division and differentiation among them, which would make possible individualization and consequent claiming different paths of cognition and invention of different patterns of knowledge

creation learning accumulation absorption–learning dissemination embodiment

So, with time, the scattered over the earth people with different languages formed different social and political establishments based upon families that are the foundation of tribes, societies, nations, states. Some of the nations have come into oblivion, some have been destroyed manifestly, as an example to all the living, because of the evil and iniquities they unleashed upon the earth [[e.g., such as Sodom and Gomorrah {Genesis 18:16–33; 19:1–29}]], some exist as neither dead nor alive – frozen in time by impotence of the reasoning and lack of energy–wisdom to perceive the Light, and some evolved into new people {1 Peter 2:9–10; 2 Peter 1:2–11}.

Why nations came into existence and have to choose and to accomplish a life–cycle according to one of the two main patterns:

either

origin growth  development  evolution

[[for instance, development into the leading unit of the conglomerate of nations]]

or

origin  growth  degeneration  collapse  either annihilation or assimilation by other nations?

Why some nations evolve and prosper, while other nations live in poverty, misery, ignorance, and insufficiency, although their lands are full of the treasures of the nature – water, fertile soil, forests, minerals, and other reserves?

The one could find answers in analysis of the contents of the cohesive powerΣ2 – the knowledge, which the nations create, which unifies them into the nation and sustains their unity, and which they contribute to the common knowledge of mankind.

What then, are the purposes of a nation?

St. Paul the Apostle in his address to the people of Athens concerning The Unknown God {Acts 17:22–31}, explains the reason, why nations exist:  God made every nation of man of one blood, to live on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore–appointed periods of completion and boundaries of their dwelling, to seek the Lord, if they only can feel Him and find Him, although He is not far from each of us, for in Him we live and move and are, for we are His offspring.

Therefore, the one might envision each nation as of a group of people set apart of all other population of the earth with the purpose: to find God within those who are unified into the nation, for in God, human beings live and move and are, for all are His offspring:

the nation is a systemΣ6

–– focused on a purpose

–– composed of human beings with some similar material features

[[race, color of skin and other physical traits, hygiene, ways of life – customs,

methods of fostering offspring, and other social–political–other individualities]]

–– situated within the temporal time–space–complexity settings with appointed period of existence – καιροςΣ5

[[with some finishing point – the time of completion as either accomplishment  or failure to accomplish the purpose]]

–– apportioned with some duration of life–cycle and reserves needed for its completion

[[with fixed range and boundaries of time–conditions–terms–reserves needed for accomplishment of specific purpose]]

Isaiah the prophet {Isaiah 5:7} wrote of the house (οικος) of Israel, the chosen nation, as of the vineyard of the Lord, and of the men of Juda as of the Lord’s beloved plant; yet, they do not completed their work: they have not known God {Isaiah 5; Hosea 4:6–13}.

Hence, the nation begins development–evolution by acceptance of the law and knowledge of God; in other words, the knowledge of God and His lawΣ7 initiates development   growth   evolutionΣ8 of the nation.

For instance, as any farmer and gardener knows, to create and to maintain a fertile vineyard, the soil must be cultivated, and the plants must be planted, rooted and maintained in accordance with some agricultural rules, knowledge of climate and other conditions. It means that behind the fertile vineyard is the synergy of knowledge of law of the nature and the environment, possession of reserves–energy, and power to use–apply them for accomplishment of the purposes; for instance, to harvest the best fruits desirable for the vineyard’s keeper.

Thus, the same fundamental code of life [[unity of the law, the energy, and the power]] defines existence and destiny of the vineyard as well as any other system –– nation, state, any human establishment –– created to sustain life of the living beings:

  LAW

  ⇓

   ENERGY POWER

Consequently, the blessings of the nation of the Lord God {Psalm 32(33):12}, are similar to the blessingsΣ9, of which Moses told his tribesmen in the time of the law–giving: life under protection of God in peace and prosperity, good climate (e.g., rain in its seasons), abundance of the fruits of the land, justice and order in human affairs, health, prosperity and well–being of the people {Deuteronomy 6:4–25; 7:11–16; 28:1–14; 30:10–20; Psalm 32(33); 143(144)}.

Furthermore, all these conditions, of which the prophets wrote, facilitate inner evolution of a human being whose thirst for God – the desire of knowledge and presence of God – is much more than the thirst of the arid athirst earth for life–giving rainΣ10.

The Christians know that the original meaning of the chosen nationΣ11 is the settings for cultivation and growth of the plants of the eternity – the children of God who are born by the Word of Truth.  The children of God

–– have faith and love to God

–– prove their faith and love by their deeds

–– live by the Word–God and by words–commandments–law of God

–– imitate perfection, mercy and love of God

–– become the dwelling–temple of the Living God

–– obtain immortalityΣ12 and enter the eternity in the presence of God

{Matthew 5:43–48; 11:28–30; Luke 6:27–49; John 14; 15; 16; 17;

James 2:14–26; 1 Peter 1; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 John 3; 4; 5; Revelation 21; 22}

However, even the chosen nation had failed and was dismantled and dispersed all over the earth after destruction of the Jerusalem and the Temple (AD 70)Σ13 as the Lord said to His disciples {Matthew 24}.

The reason of failure is foretold and explained by the prophets {Deuteronomy 28; 30; Hosea 4; 5:4}: rejection of the knowledge of God, violation of His law, and acceptance of false gods–idols. As the history of the ancient Israel reveals, in spite of revelation of the law and knowledge of the will of God given through the prophets, the people of the chosen nation have committed apostasy by accepting idols and knowledge of the surrounding heathen nationsΣ14, and even those who apparently followed the customs and had appearance of righteousness {Matthew 12:1–14; 15; 23} have transformed themselves into the offspring of serpents: by accepting the heathen philosophy [[based on the OrphismΣ14]] and customs of the heathens {e.g., in: Isaiah 2:6–8; 57:3–6; Hosea 4:1–19; 5:1–4; Sophonias 1:4–6; in spite of warning given by God to Moses, in: Exodus 34:10–17; Deuteronomy 7:1–6}, they have chosen to serve the arch–evil instead of God.

It means that with all material terms, conditions, and settings [[e.g., with all riches and powers given to Solomon the son of David and king in JerusalemΣ15]], the mind even within the most favorable settings, such as the ancient Promised Land – the land of milk and honey, is not empowered to find God, to understand the source of life, and to live according to its nature, if it is not

1/ empowered by God to learn the knowledge of Him and to understand His law

2/ fashioned, trained, and purified by the knowledge of God and His law.

After the complete human failure to achieve the main purpose of existence of the nation as a system defined by the material features and situated within the temporal time–space–complexity settings–realities, the creation of a new race, a holy nation –– the slaves–servants–priests–children of the Almighty God {1 Peter 1; 2:1–10; Revelation 22:1–5} –– is accomplished without the material boundaries and settings:

–– by the Word and Spirit of God

–– through faith, love, and knowledge of God

–– observance of the law–commandments–words of God

–– imitation of the perfection, love, and mercy of God

{Zacharias 4:6; Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:35–36; John 13; 14; 15; 16; 17}

The main purpose of the Apostles, for the sake of which they are sent to spread the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ and to disseminate the knowledge of the only One True God as the way of establishing the new nation of children of God, is explained by the following words of the Lord said to Saul the Pharisee who had to become St. Paul the Apostle:

I will appear to delivering you from the people and the nations,

to whom now I send you, to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light,

and from authority of satan to God,

to receive them forgiveness of sins and a lot among those sanctified by faith in Me

{Acts 26:16–18}

Hence, within any nation, in any land, in spite of all differences that identify a particular nation and set it apart from the rest of mankind, the chosen ones hear the voice of God and follow Him into His kingdom {John 10:27–30}.

In Conclusion,

The one could infer that

1 the purposes of a nation are

finding the Way to God

acceptance of knowledge of God and His law

arrangement of settings and conditions necessary for development of the people

who must evolve into the children of God prepared for the next phase of existence –

the eternity with God

2 a nation can evolve into the perfect establishment only with knowledge of God and observance of the law of God; then, it may be the vineyard of the Lord, in which the people–fruits of the True Vine grow up and become the perfect harvest for their Creator: His children–friends–servants–slaves destined to reign in the eternity {John 15; 17; Isaiah 5:1–7; Malachi 3:17–18; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5, 13–14}.

In other words, from the practical point of view, an ideal nation [[an ideal nation is the nation existing and evolving in full compliance with the law of God]] should be the efficient and effective/optimal social–political arrangement–settings, within which a law–abiding person would have

a/ individual physical safety and protection of the personal dignity

b/ unrestricted access to knowledge and information needed for personal development, education, and safety

c/ possibilities to exercise the fundamental freedoms and rights of a human being created by God in His image and likeness and living according to the lawΣ7; such freedoms include freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, freedom of thinking, freedom of expression, freedom of choice

d/ the complete freedom of optimal development of the natural potential – the natural abilities and freedoms given by God, the first of which is the freedom to live according to the law of God and second, is the ability to create the good for the others

3 the natural path of evolution, which a human being accommodated within an ideal nation should accomplish,

begins with observance of the law of God

{Matthew 5:17–18; 22:36–40; John 14; 17}

proceeds through increase in cognition of God

and achievement of επιγνωσεωςΣ16 complete knowledge of God,

through which all pertaining to life and godliness is bestowed upon a human being

{2 Peter 1:2–3}

leads to embodiment of the law of God into own life, which makes possible

a/ comprehension of the Absolute GoodΣ17 of God

b/ imitation of perfection, mercy, and love of God

{Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:35–36; John 14; 15; 16; 17}

c/ achievement of the full potency of creation of the good – accomplishment of the will of God

is completed with preparedness for the next phase of existence:

the everlasting life in the presence of God

{John 14; 15; 16; 17; Revelation 21; 22}

Since nations were spread all over the face of the earth to seek God {Genesis 11:1–9; Acts 17:16–31}, the significance of nations and power and glory of their rulers are defined by their knowledge of God; the destiny of nations is determined by their compliance with the law of God {in: Isaiah 34:1–2; Zacharias 13:8–9; Wisdom 6:1–8}. The nation that is not able to accomplish the purpose, for the sake of which it came into being, collapses: it has no meaning nor any significance nor abilities of survival nor any justification for preservation of its national identity nor any justification for continuation of existence, and therefore, is not worthy of protection from conquest and assimilation of enemies.

The nation, which rejects the law of God, becomes the godless nation. Some nations, in which the Christians have become insignificant minority or are no more, proudly proclaimed themselves to be the godless nations; some nations pretend to live by their religion of peace and some apparently follow “democratic ideals” [[which in theory, include freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and other human rights]], yet, both groups wage the war against ChristianityΣ18.

However, although godless nations seemingly reject the very idea of God, they, as all atheists, pursue another religion. Their “gods” are faceless “common good” and “ideals of humanity” and democracy. The inhumane essence of these ideals, which are rooted in philosophical–social–political–religious utopias of the Orphic slave–owners – Plato and Aristotle, has been convincingly revealed by the crimes against humanity committed by the totalitarian regimes based on Marxist–bolshevist–communist–socialist ideologies.

Therefore, the godless nations are the heathen nations.

The main features of heathen nations and the paths of their annihilation are mentioned in the Holy Scriptures, starting with description of the original heathen nations of the Middle East and the Promised Land {Genesis; Exodus; Leviticus; Deuteronomy; Judges} and then, the heathen nations, which surrounded Israel and waged wars with her {e.g., Kings; Isaiah; Jeremiah; Daniel; and other Books of Prophets}.

For instance {in: Micah 7:13, 16–6}, at all their might, shame, silence and deafened ear are the lot of godless nations; they shall lick the dust as serpents crawling on the earth; the land shall be utterly desolate because of the fruits of their doing.

The prophet’s reference to the serpents crawling of the earth and licking the dust points to the reason behind such desperation: the godless nations share the destiny of the arch–evil {Genesis 3:15–16} because

–– there is no truth nor mercy nor knowledge of God in their land

–– there is no place for the Word–God within the people

–– their rejection of God and consequent corruption, iniquities and crimes against humanity

have transformed them into the slaves and embodiments of the arch–evil,

which was the murderer of man from the beginning

{Hosea 4; John 8:31–47}

Therefore, as all the heathens, the godless nations live under authority of the arch–evil {e.g., in: Acts 26:16–18}.

Furthermore, the godless nations cannot find exit from the inferno that they have established upon the earth, they are not able to set themselves free from slavery to sinΣ19, corruption and evil {John 8:31–36}, and they are unable to root out any problem of mankind, because the people unified into the godless nations are special:

––  they trust in vanities and work iniquities; they live by figments of imagination and unreal expectations

–– their thoughts are thoughts of murder, misery and destruction are their ways – they do not know peace

–– their paths are crooked and turned away from understanding

–– the spirits of depression and fornication are in them: they live in the constant darkness and perplexity

{Isaiah 59:1–15; Hosea 4:1–6; 5:4; Romans 11:8–10}

Although the plague of godlessness is the inseparable feature of the last days before the end of the world, for some of the people within the godless nations still is the hope to obtain salvation by turning to the only One True God. Then, they would see that any godless nations either already has degenerated or is degenerating into the assembly of the lawless ones who live by the strangeΣ20 knowledge of false religions and cults, commit iniquities, corrupt and enslave the others, and deceive each other. Such a nation has the end similar to the end of the vineyard of the Lord: the ancient kingdom of Israel annihilated for apostasyΣ21 – acceptance of the idols of the surrounding heathen nations.

And I think that the current world affairs provide quite convincing illustration of the destiny of the godless nations. The population of all continents and all races and most states of the earth attempt to survive in spite of

1/ constant financial, political, social, and religious crises, conflicts, hostility, disagreements, and wars

2/ the polluted environment and adverse acts of nature, which are the “curses” described by Moses and, in fact, are the means, with which the earth wipes out the corrupted perverted flesh that has rejected the law of God the Creator, forfeited the everlasting life in the presence of God, and is disintegrating without energy of life and without the power to accept and hold it

3/ the constant attacks of plagues and diseases – the exterminators of the mutated beings treated by the drugs and vaccines developed on rodents, pigs, monkeys, and birds

4/ inhumanity, perversion, and corruption elevated in the rank of articles of faith, social and political norms, laws, and customs.

However, none of the nations, as well as none of the human establishments, and none of human beings within them, has any justified expectation of survival, if they do not accomplish the main purposes, for the sake of which they came to exist:

a/ finding God

b/ acceptance of His Law

c/ providing the optimal conditions for development of the people

who seek God and desire to live by the Law of God

If there is no God in men, the destiny of men is death – annihilation {Psalm 72(73):27}.

If a nation rejects knowledge of God, it is rejected by God {Hosea 4:6}: it has no power nor abilities nor any justification of survival:

–– its boundaries are removed

–– its strengths are spoiled

–– dishonor and fire consume its glory

–– its end is collapse under the burden of iniquities and sins of men

deprived of wisdom, power of reasoning, and righteous judgment

–– ultimately, it is no more

{Isaiah 10:12–16}

The one who would like to envision the future of the godless nations, should read the Holy Scriptures. Then the most general inference would be the expectation of progressing degeneration, impoverishment, irreversible collapse, incessant fratricidal and other wars, new plagues and incurable diseases, adverse mutations of human beings, continuous man–made catastrophes [[e.g., such as Fukushima nuclear plant built in earthquake– and tsunami–risk zone and destroyed by the earthquake and tsunami]] and adverse acts of nature, e.g., such as flooding, hurricanes, monstrous storms, changes of climate including those triggered by deforestation, pollution, overpopulation, and destruction of the entire eco–systems –– all these coupled with inability of the contemporary ethics–free sciencesΣ22 to identify the roots of the problems and to develop adequate solutions.

Unless a godless nation accepts the knowledge of God and begins to live by faith and love to God, by the knowledge and law of God, it remains a failed collapsing system incapable to achieve the purposes, for the sake of which it has been created. Thus, it has no justification for continuation of existence nor justified expectation of the future nor actual significance for the destiny of manΣ23 who seeks God {Isaiah 2:3–4; 10:13–23; 13; 24:3–23; 30:1, 8–14; 34; 40:15–17, 23–24; 45:18–22; 60:1–3; Habakkuk 2:8–17; Haggai 2:23; Sophonias 1:2–18; Zacharias 8:13–23}.

Notes:

Σ1 Key words in Genesis 11:4–8:

The first block:

1. οικοδομησωμεν  – compound word that includes roots of the following words:

οικο–ι – house, dwelling, family, fatherland

δομ–ος – house, building, temple; fatherland; family

σωμ–α – body, flesh; life; matter; system; totality (e.g., as Plato’s σωμα τον κοσμον  – totality/arrangement of the universe);

οικοδομησωμεν is interpreted as build, yet the word conveys the more complicating meaning: establishment–materialization–systematization (δομ–σωμ–) of the fundamental basis – family–house–fatherland – for dwelling–life (οικο–)

2. πολιν  (πολις) – city–state as a political–social establishment; interpreted as the city

3. πυργον – derived of πυργοω – to have tower for military operation; to extol, magnify, exalt, worship, praise; interpreted as tower

4. κεφαλη – head, source, essence, result, completion, interpreted as head.

 In general, synergy of these 4 words –– οικοδομησωμεν – πολιν – πυργον – κεφαλη –– identifies establishment of a core/fundamental system that should 1/ accommodate the life of one–race–one–lip people and 2/convey their self–identification, self–worship, glory, potency and essence of their knowledge.

The second block:

1. ηρξαντο  – derived of αρχω – to rule, to manage, to lead, to begin; interpreted as have begun to do; also conveys meanings to manage–create–begin accomplishment of something

2. συγχεωμεν  – derived of συγχεω – to mix, entangle, destroy, break, reduce to nothing, violate; interpreted as has confound.

Hence, the original tongue of one–race–one–lip people was reduced to nothing; so, the instant and complete understanding, self–expression, and communications, which are needed for accomplishment of a purpose by the entire population/group of men, became impossible.

Σ2 In theological terms, the cohesive power might be defined as the life–sustaining manifestation/function of the spirit/divine life–creating energy.

Σ3 Knowledge is the power to think, to speak, to act. Only if the mind comprehends the law that defines and controls the nature (the nature of man, the nature of the world that accommodates existence of man, and the nature of events and things that might be a subject of interest), the mind obtains the actual power to act and to achieve its purposes. Human knowledge is true if it gives the actual power to act purposefully, efficiently, and successfully, in full compliance with the law of God.

Σ4 Noah cursed Canaan for the evil, which his father Cham had done against Noah. The evil committed by Cham reveals the immorality of the pre–Flood society, firstly, as absence of the respect to the father–head of the family [[humiliation and mockery of father by his son]], that is the foundation, which any life–oriented society has to maintain, if it is intended to survive. Cham, the son of Noah, was blessed by God along with other Noah’s sons. Although the blessing of God protected Cham from the wrath of his father, Canaan, his son and Noah’s grandson, paid for his sin. Canaan the son of Cham cursed by Noah became the father of “the cursed nations,” which possessed the land in which Sodom and Gomorrah were situated, and which came to the ultimate evil. For instance, such as the Sidonians/Phoenicians who invented death penalty through crucifixion and worshiped their idols by burning their children (especially, first–born sons) and prostituting their daughters. The descendents of Canaan formed the nations, which later were exterminated to free the land for the descendents of Abraham. Abraham’s ancestor was Noah’s son, Sem who received blessing of Noah {Genesis 6:4, 6–14; 9:1, 18–27; 10:6–20; 11:10–31}.

Σ5 The Greek word καιρος conveys the meaning of the moment of accomplishment, “decisive moment,” when something either actually happens or is fulfilled. Hence, by fore–appointing καιρος and boundaries of each nation, God has set the temporal realities – time–space–complexity settings, which differ by time (age and years of existence), space (different lands), complexity (knowledge, civilization), in which the people unified into a nation should find Him and understand that they live, move, and are in Him as His offspring – γενος {Acts 17:28-29}.

In general, καιρος is the moment–state–condition of actualization of the Law of God – the completeness either of evolution or destruction:

a/ the point at which the system reaches the maximum either of its potency or of its weakness, which both result in impracticality/inability to exist at the present conditions

b/ the moment, when the system achieved all possible results it was capable of achieving within the allotted to it time–space–complexity settings, with the resources it was enabled to access, and through material things it was enabled to create–use–modify–consume–destroy

c/ the moment, when, within the present settings, further existence of the system is inconsistent with the purposes of the Creator.

Thus, καιρος defines

1/ the specific time–space point at which a system realizes its potential to create the most significant knowledge, or achieves its purposes

2/ the final phase, or the time of completion, when time–range of existence, which is controlled by the laws of irreversibility of cognition and complexity, is completed because the system

– either has accumulated knowledge, obtained the level of complexity, and developed the optimal potential according to the creator’s design

– or has corrupted and perverted its nature and became incapable of evolution–development (that is incapable of accumulating–absorbing–creating new knowledge, which is necessary for reaching its  optimum according to the design of the system’s creator).

As soon as the καιρος is reached {e.g., Genesis 6:5, 12–14} the system has either to be modified/transformed for the next stage of existence or to be destroyed, because of its inability to achieve the purposes for the sake of which it has been created.

Therefore, καιρος denotes

a/ the ultimate (closing) act of manifestation of the law, which has been embodied into a particular system that was created to accomplish some purposes

b/ the consequent inability of a system to exist at the settings (time–space–complexity), within which it reached its καιρος.

The law manifests itself either through transformation of a system (that has evolved according to its design) for the next phase of existence or through collapse and disintegration of a system (that has perverted its nature and became unable to evolve).

The καιρος of the Earth will come when all beings created for the eternity will pass through their way into the Kingdom of God, the evil completes the allotted for it measure {Revelation 1:5–8; 3:12, 20–21; 6:9–11; 14:13; 2 Peter 3:3–15; Genesis 6:6, 12–14; 15:13–16}, and the purposes of the earth will be accomplished. Although only God the Creator knows when it happens, His Son, Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, gave warning to all His followers that the end is close {Matthew 24:32–42}.

Σ8 Evolution of mankind is accomplished by cognition of God, because cognition of God opens understanding of the actual meaning and true value of human life [[see The Complete Knowledge in Archive–Selections_2015, and Note 20 to Archive_Selections_2016]]. Σ16 Complete knowledge –– επιγνωσεως in: 2 Peter 1:3 –– is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition: the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to work according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {2 Peter 1:2–11; conf. in: John; esp. in: John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Thus, the essence of επιγνωσεως – complete knowledge of God, is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness {2 Peter 1:3–4; Colossians 1:10–23}.

The Blessing in the Night

Comprehend then, bless the Lord, all the slaves of the Lord,

who are established in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

Stretch out your hands by night to the sanctuary and bless the Lord.

May the Lord Who made the heaven and the earth bless thee out of Zion

{Psalm 133(134)}

It is a very ancient and very short Psalm of a few words. Those who are the slaves in the house of the Lord (δουλοι Κυριου), who are established (εστωτες) in the courts of the dwelling of God, should comprehend the Lord with blessing (ιδου δη ευλογειτε τον Κυριον); they should stretch out their handsΣ1 by night to the sanctuary and bless the Lord. Then, may the Lord Who made heaven and earth give His blessing out of Zion {Psalm 133(134)}.

Apparently, it is not known who are the δουλοι Κυριου, who have to comprehend and bless the Lord, and who are established (are steadfast) in the house of the Lord, where is and what is the sanctuary to which they should stretch out their hands by the night and give blessing to the Lord, so then, they might expect the blessing of God the Creator. It could be any place, any time, any universe, where the night as the darkness in literal or abstract sense [[darkness physical or spiritual or intellectual, the darkness of ignorance, of idol–worship, of inhumanity, of despair, of hopelessness]] exists, and where, still, God and therefore, the meaning of holiness, is known. This holiness might be the greatest sanctuary – Αγια Αγιωνof the temple that Solomon built; it might be any place where the priests beseech blessing of God; it might be the kingdom of God, to which the human soul–heart–mind belongs, because, with the blessing of God, it shall comprehended the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life and become the temple of the Living God {John 14:15–26; 17; Isaiah 8:13–14}.

Who are  δουλοι Κυριου – the slaves of the Lord?

According to the Holy Scriptures, slaves of the Lord are the ones who live by God, act by the power of God and for the sake of accomplishment of the will of God; among them are the Hebrew prophetsΣ2 to whom God refers to as to “My slaves” – τοις δουλοις Μου – to whom He commands by His Spirit {Zacharias 1:6}.

Then, to those whom God will choose to be His own possession, Malachi the prophet refers to as to τον υιον αυτου, τον δουλευοντα αυτω {Malachi 3:17} – as to a son of man, who serves his father unreservedly, as slave (δουλευοντα from δουλευω  – to be a slave; to serve as slave; to be devoted as slave).

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who came to accomplish the will of God the Father, said that His food is to do the will of Who sent Him to finish His work {John 4:34}.

Then, the Lord explained His listeners that, when they accomplish the will of God, they have to say “we are unavailing slaves – δουλοι  αχρεioi – for we have done what we ought to do” {Luke 17:10}.

Those who enter the eternity with God to live in His presence and to reign forever also are referred to as the slaves – οι δουλοι {Revelation 22:1–5}.

Then, Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples that they are His friends, if they do whatever He commands them. He no longer calls them ‘slaves,’ for a slave does not know what his Lord does of him; but He calls them ‘friends’ because He makes known to them all He heard from His Father {John 15:14–15}. Afterward, the Lord says that the everlasting life is that they – His disciples who are given to Him by God the Father – may know the onlyΣ3 One True God and Whom He sent, Jesus Christ {John 17:2–3}.

Therefore the difference between the one as a slave of God and the one as a friend of God is knowledge of the purpose, for instance, knowledge of what the Lord wants or does of him. Consequently, the chosen ones are those who are prepared to act, because they know the future that follows accomplishment of the purpose, and act accordingly to accomplish it {e.g., in: Malachi 3:16–18; 4:1–3}. As the Lord says, they are the ones of God – His sheep whom He knows and who follow Him {John 10:27–30; 17:6}. They –– the ones chosen and known by God, His very Own possession, the blessed ones –– will be in God and with God forever {John 17:1–26; Revelation 21:6–75; 22:1–5, 14}.

For those who have learnt the precious knowledge of God, and came to complete knowledgeΣ4, of which St. Peter the Apostle wrote {2 Peter 1:3}, there is no difference in the worldly definitions, to which the “free” people of democratic societies cling. There is no difference between the status of God’s slave and status of God’s freeman defined by human language for those who live by God and for God, and who, by the precious price, are set free from sin and bonded by the perfection of God {Matthew 5:48; John 8:31–36; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Colossians 3:10–14}. They have been set free from the worldly powers of the world controlled by the evil, and therefore, they are not limited–bound–defined with the classifications and characteristics that define the boundaries of the limited structured world of the material things. Their freedom includes understanding of the world, within which the one, who begins his ascent to God as the slave of sin –– as the many of those who are born into this world do, has

to comprehend the meaning of freedom

in the fierce spiritual war with the evilΣ5 –– the war that is the one’s  entire life,

to win the precious freedom of the mighty immortal son – and a child and a slave – of God

{2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Ephesians 3:14–21; 6:10–18; Revelation 21:6–7; Psalm 17(18)}

to become the blessed one of God – the child–son–slave preparedΣ6 for the eternity with God

{James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1:22–25; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians; Colossians; Revelation 22:1–5, 13–14}.

Consequently, the Apostles {1 Peter 2; 1 John 3; 4; 5; Romans 6; Ephesians; Colossians 3:10–14; Galatians 3:26–29; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; 7:17–23; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Galatians 3:26–29} refer to

a/ the people of God taken into possession and called out of darkness, because they know the purpose of their existence – to keep and to observe and to make known the lawΣ7 of God, and to convey the knowledge of God to those who are willing to accept

b/ freedom and freemen who are free of sinΣ8, yet who became the slaves of the righteousness – the ones unreservedly devoted to accomplishment of the will of God

c/ the children–slaves–disciples–friends of God who live by the Spirit of God

who are set free, because where the Spirit of God is, freedom is

↓         ↑

who are established (εστωτες) and kept

by the Absolute Good, excellenceΣ9, and perfection of God, because they

–– live by faith and love to God

–– comprehend the meaning of human nature and human virtueΣ10

–– imitate righteousness and virtues of Lord Jesus Christ

–– they become the possession – the very Own people of God

{Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:36; John 13:34–35; 14:15–18, 23–26; 15:12–27; 17; 1 Peter 2:1–25; Malachi 3:17}

Hence, for the Christians, the freedom is liberation from the evil and sin. This liberation is possible only if the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, sets the one free. To become free, the one needs to observe the commandments–words of God, so, he would cognize the Truth and receive the authority to become a child of God, because the slave does not remain in the house to the age; the son remains in the house to the age {John 1:1–13; 8:36–36; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Consequently, for the Christians, the meaning of slavery is the spiritual slavery as submission to the evil and sin; the worldly/material division between slavery and freedomΣ11 is irrelevant in the same fashion as the entire world that neither recognizes the Word–God nor knows the Holy Spirit is irrelevant for the one who belongs to God and has the inner peace given by Lord Jesus Christ {in: John 14:15–17, 25–27; 15:15–26; 17; 1 John 5}.

One of the components of the knowledge that transforms a slave into the friend is an explanation: who is a Christian – the disciple and slave and child of the Almighty God, how he should learn the knowledge of God, how he could evolve into a child of God, and how he should live the rest of his life at the Earth after becoming a child of God {in: John 1:12–13; Matthew; Mark; Luke; John; James; 1 John; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; Ephesians; Colossians; 1 Corinthians; 2 Corinthians; and other Epistles of the Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God}.

What does it mean ‘blessing’? Why the one should bless the Almighty God Who has everything?

When a human being blesses God the Creator, he confirms his acceptance of God and his love to God; he opens his soul–heart–mind for the love of God making himself the part of God’s kingdom – the one who is established (εστωτες) in the house of the Lord.

When God the Creator gives His blessing to His creation, He bestows on him His Love and therefore, gives him the Divine Energy and Power accompanied either with the abundance of the good, of which Moses told his tribesmen at the time of law–giving {Deuteronomy 28:1–14; 30:9–20}, or with the greatest giftΣ12 of the wisdom and understanding that comes with the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Scriptures point out, some could receive both of them – the wealth of this world and the wealth of the Wisdom {Proverb 2; 3; 4; 6:20–23; 8; Wisdom 6:12–24; 7; 8} that prepares the human soul–heart–mind for the new world of God {John 14; 15; 16:7–16; 17; Revelation 21:1–8, 23; 22:1–5, 10–15}.

For a Christian, the highest blessing – the assurance of the life everlasting – is the presence of the Holy Spirit Who comes from the Father in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ, because of love of God the Father to those who believe in His son – Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and love Him {John 14:15–17, 23–26; 16:23–24; Matthew 7:7–11; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9–13}.

Then, why the slaves of God should stretch out their hands to the sanctuary? What happens when the one stretches out (or lift up in other texts of the Holy Scriptures) his hands to God Who is Αγιος Αγιος Αγιος Κυριος Σαβαωθ and the Sanctuary {Isaiah 6:3; 8:13–14}: the Αγια Αγιωνthe Holy of Holies – of each soul that lives by God?

When Moses led his tribesmen to the Promised Land and the Israelites departed from the wilderness of Sin, they encountered one of the native nations – the Amalec people; they were the first of the nations of the Promised Land, yet they perished {Exodus 17:1, 8–16; Numbers 24:20; 1 Kings 15; Psalm 33(34):21}. The idol–worshiping Amalec nation had to be annihilated, because their great corruption and sins against the Lord have overwhelmed the measures of the evil, and its καιροςΣ13 came before the Lord as all that ever existed shall {in: Genesis 6:6–7, 12–14; Matthew 24:35–44; Acts 17:24–28; Revelation 20:11–15; 21:1–5, 24–27}.

So {in: Exodus 17:8–16}, Moses went up to the top of the hill over the place where the Israelites had to attack the Amalec, and he lifted his hands. While Moses’ hands were lifted (επηρε; from επαιρω), the Israelites prevailed; when Moses let his hands down (because they were heavy), the Amalec prevailed. Hence, Moses set upon stone, and Aaron and another man supported Moses’ hands until the end of the day: until the warriors of the Amalec nation were annihilated. With the secret hand, the Lord waged war against the corrupted nationΣ14 for all generations and accomplished it through the stretched hands of Moses, revealing therefore His power to His chosen ones. Eventually, even the name of the Amalec nation was blotted out from under the heaven {Deuteronomy 25:17–19; 1 Kings 15}.

Hence, the one could infer that, according to the will of God, a particular temporal realityΣ15 was set for accomplishment of a particular purpose: in this reality, the Israelites waged war with the evil ones and exterminated them. Creation and maintenance of this reality, in which the destructive power of the law was revealed through annihilation of the lawless ones, was accomplished with the Divine Power of God. This Power descended into the reality of annihilation through the lifted hands of Moses. Only because of this Power received through Moses’ hands, the Israelites won their battle – defeated and annihilated the evil ones {cf.: Exodus 17:8; Deuteronomy 25:17–19}.

In another text, the prophet says that he lifted up (διεπετασα from διαπεταννυω – to lift up sail, to open up wings) his hands to God; his soul for God as the waterless land: he is a slave of God, and he expects that the Spirit of God will guide him, that God will make him alive and bring his soul out of affliction {Psalm 142(143):6–12}. He expresses his expectations by lifting up/opening his hands to the Lord.

So, through the hands of man, the life–sustaining power of God enters the world of man for defeating the evil, healing the diseases of the mind and body, building the οικον – dwelling of man {Psalm 126(127); 146(147)}, and transforming the world, within which the οικον – dwelling of man of God is accommodated, into the better place.

The referred above texts point to the particular phenomenon, which manifests the connection with God of those who are His slaves – δουλοι Κυριου; for instance, those in Psalm 133(134) and the prophet who spoke by the power given by the Holy Spirit, and who envisioned the soul without the Holy Spirit as the waterless parched arid desertΣ16 waiting for rain {Psalm 142(143):6–12}:

they are vigilant in the time (night),

when the others have no awareness of the actuality

and their reasoning collapsedΣ17 because of their lawlessness and corruption

they stretch out (or lift up) their hands to accept the power

that comes with the blessing of God and from the dwelling of God

God the Creator responds to them with His blessing

that includes giving of the life–sustaining energy

along the power to hold and to apply it for accomplishment of the will of God

the power that one receives through the blessing of God the Creator heals the wounds of his soul,

leads him out of affliction, ensures his victory in the war with the evil ones,

and therefore, through him, sustains the world of the living

Hence, the one could comprehend the pattern describing maintenance of the existing world and perhaps, of the world to come.

At any time, the blessing given by God the Creator to the creation who – with faithΣ18 – loves and blesses his Creator and other creations of God, is accompanied with well–being of His creation: blessing by God is the act of bestowing the divine life–creating and life–sustaining power that renews the face of the earth (man is the earth) and that is carried by the Holy Spirit and accomplished by the Word–God {Mark 11:22–26; Luke 11:9–13; John 4:34; 10:25, 30; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17; Psalm 103(104):30; 127(128); 144(145); 146:3–6; Deuteronomy 28:1–14; 30:9–20}. It always is the evidence of forgivenessΣ19 and reconciliation with God in the present; it also is the foresight of the Future, when night and darkness will be no more {Revelation 21:23; 22:5}.

For instance, the blessing of God has come unto the one

who was saved from the total ruinΣ20,

delivered from the power of darkness, pitied, forgiven, and illuminated by the Light and Wisdom of God

{John 1:1–18; 9:15; 15:3–12; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2:9–10, 25; 2 Peter 1:2–11, 19–21; 1 John 1; Colossians 1:13;

Psalm 102(103); 103(104); 106(107)}

who was purified by the Word–God from his sins and imperfections

and set free from the slavery to the arch–evil

{John 8:31–32, 34–36; 13:10; 15:1–8; 17:17}

who is prepared for acceptance of the power that will sustain his life,

and with him,

life of the world given into his dominion

{John 14:1–26; 15; 17; Revelation 22:3–5}

who, with his steadfastness of faith and righteousness of a child of God –

the one who imitates His God and Savior as a son imitates his father,

is renewed in cognition of God,

and established on the Precious Indestructible Corner–Stone, the Word–God

{Matthew 5:17–48; Luke 6:27–49; John 13:34–35; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 1 John;

Ephesians 2:18–22; Colossians 1:9–23; 3:10–11; Isaiah 28:16}.

The evil ones do not seek blessings of God: in the presence of God, the evil is not able to exist, and for the evil ones, presence of God is torture and then, the end–annihilation {Matthew 8:28–29; Mark 5:1–7; Luke 8:27–31; John 3:16–21, 36; 8:34–47; 1 John 3:8–15; Revelation 20:11–15}. Hence, the self–chosen path of the evil ones

begins in darkness within this world

culminates in the total ruinΣ20,

from which nothing and nobody is able to save the evil ones –

those who have set themselves against the law/will of God

leads into the darkness of eternal separation from God

{Matthew 22:11–14; John 3:16–21, 35–36; 8:37–47;

Isaiah 1:28; 43:11–13; Malachi 3:17; 4:2; Psalm 144(145):20}

While living in the darkness, or in the shadow of deathΣ21 – and especially, in the gloom of human reason, in the spiritual darkness inseparable from the evil, the slaves of the evil and sin invented different methods of illumination and persuasion of the others: burning wood, candles, lamps, street lights, bonfire, arson, burnt–offering of animals and humans, stakes of the Inquisition, pyres on which the books written by the different–minded are burnt, nuclear bombs, suicide–bombers, public flogging, torture, mutilation, and inhumane executionsΣ22 of human beings created after image and likeness of God {Genesis 1:27; 9:6}, and so on…

Does not, with each passing moment, when a new crime of inhumanity is committed, the present world look more and more as the night without the Light, because the Word–God, the Light of the world, has left the world,

which has rejected His love

which serves the evil

in which only the expectations of evil are fulfilled

{John 9:4–5; 14:19, 30; 15:18–25; 16:1–11, 16, 28; Isaiah 28:15–22}?

And I think that now, when the night of idol–worship, darkness of false religions, human misery and suffering fueled with incessant conflicts and wars, ignorance, inhumanity, and ungodliness crawl over the entire planet, when the Christian churches set on fire took place of street–lighting and when Christians and people of other faiths and walks of life are burned alive, beheaded, and slaughtered as animals because of their beliefs and desire to live according to their beliefs, would the δουλοι Κυριου ask the blessing of the Lord God for the world of the evil?

And if they still do, would not the power that comes from God with His blessing speed up διαφθορων – the total ruinΣ20 – of the evil ones?

Would not this power accelerate collapse and disintegration of the evil establishments, as well as coming of the long–awaited end promised in the beginning of this age {Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 12:35–40; 2 Peter 3}?

Σ1 Επαρατε  τας  χειρας – have stretched out hands;  ε-παρα-τε  from  παρα-τε-ινω - stretch; as in νυξ  τε–ταται - night outstretched/prostrated

Σ2 Through the Hebrew Prophets, God granted the knowledge, which sustains life and death of men, controls existence or disintegration of their establishments, and set up the foundation for evolution of a human being as optimization–perfection–development of the highest potential according to the original design (in 1500–1000 B.C. – fifth century B.C.). The Hebrew Prophets prepared the foundation for the teachings of Lord God Jesus Christ.

See Hebrew Prophets and other excerpts in Note 91 to Archive_Selections_2016

Σ3 In the phrase τον μονον αληθινον Θεον {John 17:3}, the Greek word μονον usually is translated as “only”: “the only true God”; thus, the entire logic block is interpreted as “the only true God.” However, μονον is also a derivative of two roots: 1/ μονο–  one, alone, and no–one else, only, and 2/ εν/εις primary word for numeral one, only.

Therefore, the complete meaning of τον μονον αληθινον Θεον  is “the only One True God.”

Such translation is confirmed by the words of Lord God Jesus Christ:

Εγω και ο Πατηρ εν εσμεν  –

I and the Father One are

{in: John 10:30; 14:6–10; 17:21, 23–26}

St. John the Apostle writes {1 John 5:7}:

ο Πατηρ, ο Λογος, και το Αγιον Πνευμα: και ουτοι οι τρεις Εν εισι –

the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and These Three One is

Therefore, translation of τον μονον αληθινον Θεον {John 17:3} as “the only One True God” conveys the essence of the monotheistic theology – the Christianity that is the ultimate knowledge of God the Father given and explained by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, Whom He has sent for salvation of the world {John 1:1–18; 3:16–18; 6:39–40; 10:17–18, 30; 12:44–50; 14:6–11; 17}.

The words of God are the essence of The Nicean Creed – the Confession of the Christian Faith that defines the essence of Christian religion as the monotheistic religion; it was composed in 325, by The First Ecumenical Council of Nicea:

Σ4 Knowledge is the power to think, to speak, to act.

Complete knowledge –– επιγνωσεως in: 2 Peter 1:3 –– is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition: the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to work according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {2 Peter 1:2–11; conf. in: John; esp. in: John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Thus, the essence of επιγνωσεως – complete knowledge of God, is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness {2 Peter 1:3–4; Colossians 1:10–23}.

The mind that has obtained επιγνωσεως or, in other words, entered the state of complete knowledge of God, receives from the Word–God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια and from the Holy Spirit the special power: wisdom {John 14:1–27; 15:1–17, 26; 16:7–16; 17; Colossians 1; 2; Proverbs 2:3–12; Wisdom 1; 3; 6; 7; 8; 9}.

This wisdom–power sustains new life of the mind – the life in God. This wisdom it is not “wisdom” of this world, such as philosophy of the heathens, on which the current civilizations are built, by which the people pride themselves, and upon which they build their establishments that collapse easily because of any problem, similarly to buildings, which collapse during flood because they are set upon sand or liquefied soil, without the solid stone foundation {in: Matthew 7:21–27; Luke 6:46–49; 1 Corinthians 3:18–23; 2 Corinthians 4; Colossians 2:8–9, 18–23}.

Concerning wisdom, see Note 9 to Archive_Selections_2016.

The companions of the wisdom given by God are comprehension of the words of the Creator, understanding of the meaning of virtues, righteousness, nature of man, nature of the world that accommodates life and evolution of men, and ultimately, the ability to comprehend the perfection of God, which the wise one is empowered to accept as the Absolute Good and then, imitate, so it would become his very own manner of life {John; 2 Peter 1:2–3; 1 John; Ephesians 5:1; Wisdom 7}.

In other words, the wise one becomes the dwelling of God, a new being in whom the words of God – the knowledge of Him – establish and maintain

– righteous life of the mind by giving it wisdom to know God and to imitate Him according to His commandments

– virtuous life of the one’s body that lives according to the human nature created by God: by the spirit, not by the lusts of flesh and figments of imagination {Matthew 5; 6; 7; 22:36–40; Luke 6:17–49; 12; 16; 17; 18; John 14; 15; 17; 1 Peter 1:13–25; 2:11–25; 2 Peter 1:2–4; 2; 3; 1 John; Jude 8, 12–13, 16–21; 1 Corinthians 6:9–20; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5; Galatians 4:6–10; 5:13–26; 6:3–10; Ephesians, esp. Ephesians 5:1–21; Colossians 1:10–23; 2:2–23; 3:1–25; 1 Thessalonians 4:1–12; 5:3–24; Wisdom 2:21–24; 3:1–4; 7}.

Concerning knowledge, the knowledge frameworks, and the complete knowledge, see Notes 39, 82, and 41 to Archive_Selections_2016.

Concerning evolution, see Note 67 to Archive_Selections_2016.

With knowledge of the perfection and righteousness of God the Creator and the Father comes freedom from sin. Sin is the failure to create the good through accomplishment of the purposes, with which the one, by own life, has to actualize the will of God. See Note 27 to Archive_Selections_2016.

Σ5 The Christians live within the two–dimensional reality: the reality of the inner peace given by God and the reality of the outward world of the matter. Life in the world of the matter is the inner incessant war against the enemies of God. This war is not against the human beings – who are flesh; this war is against the invisible unperceivable spiritual evils {2 Corinthians 10:3–5; Ephesians 6:12–18} that originate the evil thoughts, which their carriers–men embody into the visible perceivable material things: words, actions, establishments, systems.

Although this war is invisible and unperceivable by those who live by the values of the material world, it has definite consequences for those

– who became victims of the Inquisition and the martyrs of the oppressive structures devised to deprive human beings of freedom of conscience, freedom of knowledge, freedom of thinking, freedom of choice, freedom to pursue life of happiness in dignity and peace

– who because of ignorance and deceit commit violations of the law of God, pervert own nature, suffer the consequent illnesses, mental and physical disorders, lose their chance for the everlasting life in the presence of God, and meet the premature physical death.

The only weapon, which the Christians have to win this war, is faith, love, and knowledge: through faith in God, love to God, knowledge of the words of God and the truth revealed by God, a human being learns how to observe the commandments of God and to embody them into own thoughts, words, and deeds making the evil irrelevant. Then, righteousness, dignity, and virtue become the way of life. God is the only hope, because in this war, the human strength and human wisdom cannot prevail: by the Spirit of God the victory comes, not by the mighty powers {1 Kings 2:2–10; Zacharias 4:6; 1 John 5:1–5; 2 Corinthians 6:17–18; Ephesians 6:10–13}.

Unsurprisingly, the main attack is against God: against the law of God, against the words of God and against knowledge of truth revealed by God {in: 2 Peter 2:1–22; Jude 7–8; 1 John 3:10–15; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10; Revelation 21:7–8}. The main weapons of those who attempt to transform the children of God into the servants of the arch–evil destined to perish include (but are not limited to)

– deceit and propagation of the false knowledge and heresies, ecumenism and creation of the “universal religion,” which are intended to take the place of Christian teachings and transform the people into the easily manipulated and controlled flock of political animals – property of political and world–oriented and heretical religious establishments

– institutionalization of violations of the Law of God

– perverted education, which under the slogan of separation of the church and the state propagates false knowledge – atheism and materialism leading to corruption, perversion, crimes against God, men, and the nature, and epidemic mental and physical disorders

– hypocrisy, political correctness, and propaganda, which associates human rights, freedoms, and liberties with intolerance to the Christian teachings and with freedom to persecute and to silence those who have faith, to corrupt and to pervert other human beings, especially children

– intimidation, inciting of hatred and violence, coercion and persecution, especially toward the Christians who attempt to proclaim the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ.

God told His disciples that from within the human heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies – all things that defile man {Matthew 15:18–20}; these things are the features of the sons of the arch–evil who are not able to perceive the words of God, who hate God and reject His words {John 8:42–47}, and who, therefore, are incapable of doing the good to the others.

Therefore, the Christian’s war, firstly, is the war with the evil within own heart–mind, so the evil is annihilated as inappropriate and irrelevant to the spiritual and physical life. Then, the Word–God becomes the only essence of the heart–mind, and the inner peace granted by God is the reality of existence.

In the war with the evil, the Christians fight for own everlasting life: they, by their thoughts, words, and actions, have to prove faith and love to God, without which the eternity with God is not possible.

Love to God, steadfast faith in God, focusing on the will of God, and observance of the commandments of God sustain the inner peace through which the children of God begin to partake in the eternal world of God during the earthly existence: this is the victory over the temporal world of the matter the world in which the evil reigns.

God spoke of this victory {John 16:33}, and His beloved disciple – St. John the Apostle – explained {1 John 5:1–5} that the victory over the world is faith in Lord God Jesus Christ. This victory is confirmed with love to God and accomplishment of His commandments.

The way to this victory leads through understanding of the methods, with which the slaves of the arch–evil attempt

–– to destroy the Christian peace

–– through ecumenism and propagation of the one/universal religion, to establish heresies, heathen idol–worship, and cults of the arch–evil at the place of Christian teachings

–– exterminate Christianity, esp. through persecutions, exile, and murder of Christians who reject conversion and submission to the arch–evil, which advances under the mask of the ecumenical movement and propagation of the unity of mankind through one “universal” religion similar to the Manichaeism.

The understanding invokes the consequent ability to discern the evil in words and deeds of the others, especially, in those who cover their true intentions with

a/ the slogans of brotherly love, unity, liberties, human rights, and peace

b/ the myths of democracy and abstract “common good” of men and their establishments

c/ propaganda and dissemination of false knowledge through all kinds of media, social norms, laws, politics of the states, policies of establishments

d/ design and support of godless establishments/systems [[which although intended to sustain survival and development of societies and states accelerate their collapse and ruin]].

Σ10 Virtue is the way of life according to the nature of man created in image and after likeness of God. For the Christians, the Word–God is the source of the virtues, and the earthly life of Lord Jesus Christ is the complete manifestation of all human virtues: the full knowledge of the Word–God, acknowledgement of His excellence, and observance of His commandments originate virtues of man {2 Peter 1:1–11; 1 John 3:2–12; 5:1–3}.

Σ13 The Greek word καιρος conveys the meaning of the moment of accomplishment, “decisive moment,” when something either actually happens or is fulfilled.

Σ15 A reality is a complex system set for particular purposes.

A system (for instance, a society, state, empire, civilization) is the means to achieve some purpose(s): identification of a purpose allows identification of a system.

The difference between a system and a reality is defined by complexity of the purposes, which they have been created to accomplish, and complexity of knowledge, which they produce by their existence and during accomplishment of their purposes.

Σ18 According to the Christian teachings, faith is life: the life–bearing knowledge of God and the unity of the acquired knowledge with the manner of life; the just one lives by faith {Habakkuk 2:4; Luke 7:50; 1 Peter 1:9; James 2:14–26}.

St. Paul the Apostle defines faith as the substance of all expectations and the evidence of the unseen {Hebrews 11:1}; those who have faith see the unseen and eternal {2 Corinthians 4:13–18}.

Faith is the optimal state of reason; otherwise Lord God would not seek it in His creations {in: Luke 18:8; John 9:35–39; 11:25–26}. The Holy Scriptures provide the comprehensive definition of faith: all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority are in Lord God Jesus Christ – He is  της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; 12:2; Romans 14:23}.

Through faith, the mind learns love and knowledge of God – the knowledge that is the eternal life {John 17:3}.

In other words, faith is the state of cognizance/knowing God, love to God, living by God, and unity with God. Faith gives comprehension of the essence of all events that compose life of the soul–heart–mind. The Holy Scriptures provide the simple and detail instructions for all who have faith in God. It might be also said that faith defines process of human evolution, because faith allows obtaining completeness of knowledge of the Word–God and prepares for the eternity with God {in: John 6:27–29, 44–48; 8:31–32,34–36; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:1–11}.

Σ20 The common pattern of culmination of the evil death is known as διαφθορων pattern – total–complete ruin of man and collapse–ruin–disintegrating of his creations–establishments, with which he expected to sustain life, to secure survival, and to evolve.

The διαφθορων pattern describes the utter collapse–ruin of any system, in which alien knowledge takes the place of the original meanings of truth that initially, in the time of the system’s creation/construction, was embodied into

religious, social, political, moral, and other laws, norms, and values

religious, social, political, educational, and other establishments created to maintain and to protect the system

behavior, interrelations, and other aspects of the daily life of the people

whose existence, prosperity, development, and survival the system is intended to sustain and to secure

The διαφθορων pattern can be always discerned within the chaotic totality of the events identified as revolution, war, defeat, impoverishment, assimilation by enemies {e.g., as it is in: Deuteronomy 28:47–48}, and overall processes of disintegration of empires, states, and other establishments/systems.

Σ21 Σκοτος usually translated as darkness also has the meaning of death and shadow of death; in the contemporary Greek, derivatives of σκοτ−ος (σκοτ−ωμα ← σκοτ−ωμος ← σκοτ−ωνω) convey meanings of killing, slaughtering, massacre.

The Power of Coercion

…Not by mighty power, nor by strength, but My Spirit, said the Lord Almighty…

{Zacharias 4:6}

The meaning of the power within the hierarchical systems (civilization–state–society–establishment) always is correlated with the power of coercion intended to subdue and to manipulate the material subjects (e.g., to enslave men, to accumulate wealth, to build fortresses) at the lower levels of the hierarchyΣ1.

At the lowest levels of social and political development, the highest point of coercive power is associated with the control over human body and resources, which sustain life: a human being might be executed, tortured, starved to death, chained, abused, sold as a slave, subjected to corporal or other punishment, forced to perform bodily (according to Aristotle’s definition) services, and so on – up to the full potency of evil imagination of the owner.

At the highest levels of social and political development, the coercive power encircles the free will, conscience, and freedom of choice; those who are more skilled in the art of deceit generate the greatest impact. In the most advanced establishments, the human mind is subjected to the scientifically proved brain–washing techniques since the very moment a child begins to discern the connection between his action/word and the consequences of his action/word for his body.

The main battle with the innate nature of human mind – that is with freedom of thinking, free will, and other inseparable components of intelligence–reasoning–faculty of deliberation – begins with the entrance into educational institutions. This battle lasts until the subject’s mind is transformed into a typical easily replaceable part of the society–community–establishment that is into the typical receptacle of ready–to–be–consumed opinions and portions of “knowledge,” which define the behavior of a perfect citizen–member–property of the establishment, or until a particular person is judged to be unmanageable, therefore, destined to

separation from the perfect community–establishment of the obedient ones annihilation

Physical death of a body sets a limit of any kind of coercive power: coercion at any level is actualized with the material objects (e.g., weapons, armies, newspapers), and any type of coercion comes to the end with destruction of the material target. At the same time, if a slave chooses death as the method to obtain freedom, his choice inflicts a detriment to the slave–owner’s interests, so, the power over body definitely, is not enough to sustain the mighty hierarchies.

Consequently, when the people began to worship gods, the first attribute, which all idolsΣ2 received from their inventors/creators/makers, was the absolute power of coercion: over life of a body and over post–mortem destiny of the soul. Since, as the result, a human being is expected to spend the earthly life in the prison of slaveryΣ3, ignorance, and fear, without any expectations of freedom in the after–life, because the pharaohs, emperors, kings, popes, and other rulers claim the power over the realm of dead souls in the same fashion they rule the realm of the living bodies.

The Christianity began with a proclamation of the absolute freedom of man {John 8:31–36; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Galatians 5:13–14}: any coercion is not compatible with the will/law of God. The meaning of the Christian freedom is the knowledge of the divine nature of man – the nature of a free being created in image and after likeness of God. Even within the most inhumane societies, by the mercy of God, any mind is empowered to obtain

– freedom from evil and sin {John 8:31–36; 1 John 3:6–10}

– love and knowledge of God – the perfect Love without fear and suffering {John 15:9–10; 17; 1 John 4:16–19}

– love to the others – by actions and in truth {John 13:34–35; 14; 15:12–17; 1 John 2:9–11; 3:14–18; 4:20–21}

– life everlasting in the kingdom of God {John 3:35–36; 10:27–30; 11:25–26; 14; 17; Revelation 21:1–4; 22:1–5}.

The people who cognized the Christian freedom and learned to love God and His creations live–think–act according to the lawΣ4–commandments–words of God, in the love of God, and without fear. They are given the peace of God, and they are enlightened and comforted by the Spirit of God Who dwells in them {John 14:15–28; 1 John 2:3–6, 17; 4:13, 18; 5:3; Romans 8:14–17; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18}.

The Christian teachings unfolded within the heathen Roman Empire, which absorbed worst kinds of evil created by philosophers and diviners of the Past. The heathen Roman Empire was founded on the Aristotle’s universal pattern (master––slave), and it instituted the elaborated hierarchy of slaves – all were slaves and in all spheres of life: state, politics, religion, society. No actual difference existed between the senator and his slave: the senator was slave of the “divine emperor” who could execute any of his senators as any of his senators could kill his slaves. However, the “divine emperor” was the first among all slaves: although he possessed the highest power of coercion and “divinity,” he had to think and act as the slave of his idols (including political, philosophical, and theological assumptions, which sustained the imperial hierarchy) and of his own power over the others.

It seems to be an irrational assumption: how the highest authority in a possession of the highest power of coercion might be a slave? Yet, this is the law: there is no freedom for those who deprive the others of their freedom. Those who act by coercion, firstly, exterminate own free will and live in the constant fear to be overthrown, murdered, exiled, or betrayed/sold.

So, which kind of power besides the power of coercion could exist in the world? The Holy Scriptures provide some insights into the sphere of this transcendent power – it is absolute omnipotence revealed as much as the human mind is able to comprehend the meaning of the omnipotence of God:

– this power is the source of life {John 5:26}

– before this power, death is impotent {John 11:25–26, 32–44}

– the mind in a possession of the power, which Lord God Jesus Christ promised to bestow on His disciples, is omnipotent as much as the creation of God must be omnipotent within the world given into the dominion of man; such a mind carries the Kingdom of God within, it is the temple–dwelling of the Living God, it has the power over life and death, it has the peace of God, and it conquers the world {John 14; 15; 16; 17; Luke 9:51–56; 10:9, 16–20; 17:20–21; Acts 5:1–10, 14–15; 8:6–7; 9:37–42; 28:3–6, 8–9; 1 John 5:4–7; 1 Corinthians 2:11–13; 3:16–17}.

At the same time, no one of those who possessed this power ever applied it toward the world of material subjects, which are the sphere of the power of coercion. Beginning with the answer of God to the most powerful man in Judea {John 18:36; 19:9–11}, continuing with the writings of His Apostles {James; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; 1 Corinthians; 2 Corinthians; Ephesians; Galatians}, and completing with the multitudes of those who preferred death for their beliefs to the ugly servitude and submission to the heretics and idol–worshipers, it is the same simple, yet undisputable message:

the power and wisdom and glory of the world of men is nothing before God

Who sees the human heart and judges intentions

Not by the power nor through philosophy and deceit according to the traditions of men and nor by the physical strength and military force lives a soul–heart–mind of man. A human being lives by the Holy Spirit of God, by each word from the mouth of God–Creator and Redeemer. The history of collapsed civilizations and ruined empires, which in their times, were the mightiest establishments in a possession of all the resources they needed to survive and prosper, conveys the simple lesson: all the power of men is nothing if it is not sustained by God. At the same time, the weakest and the humblest ones are omnipotent if the Holy Spirit of God dwells in them and if, for His purposes, God protects them until they accomplish His will.

And I think: the conflict of the powers of this world with God seems to be inexhaustible.

Indeed, the Omnipotent Creator came into His Own house, and His creations did not accept Him: they crucified Him.

Then, during the last two thousand years, the heathens, heretics, idol–worshippers of all kinds and fashions constantly strive to erase the very memory of God, to pervert each word He spoke, to exterminate those who follow Him in faith, with love and dignity, to deceive and to corrupt those who are weak, and to enslave those who have no wisdom to remain loyal to the faith of their ancestors.

So, is any hope left for us, the Christians, to live in peace and to worship our God without danger to be enslaved, manipulated, used for the service to those who have no faith and love, therefore, no life in them, and exterminated?

When I attempt to understand how we, the people, came to the end of the road with nothing accomplished but the war, deceit, and coercion, and why we reaped such a plentiful harvest of death, the only explanation I can find is that this limited and insufficient world, into which man transformed the perfect Earth created by God, is alienated from the Creator {John 15:18–21; 18:36–37}. We have to pass through it because we wanted the knowledge of evil, so, we are learning the ultimate evil as much as we are able to comprehend deathΣ5. Moreover, the many have chosen death to be their inseparable companion {Wisdom 1:12–16}, and death probes, poisons, and ruins everything they have or create. Yet, all the tests and trials are over, and all the powers of coercion dissipate when the one comes to understanding that the evil and death and the entire world of the material things and the absolute rulers–servants of the arch–evil have no authority over the children of God {Matthew 10:28–31; John 1:12–13}…
