The Law of Love and the Ultimate Justice

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word

The all through Him came into being

{John 1:1, 3}

And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us

{John 1:14}

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only–begotten Son,

that everyone believing in Him may not perish but have everlasting life

{John 3:16}

Do not think that I came to annul the law and the prophets.

I came not to annul but to fulfill

{Matthew 5:17}

I in them and You in Me that they may be perfected into one,

and that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me

{John 17:23}

You loved Me before the foundation of the world

{John 17:24}

God is Love, and the one remaining*1* in love remains in God and God in him

{1 John 4:16}

Love does not work evil to the neighbor; then love is the fulfillment of the law

{Romans 13:8}

The words of God concerning two greatest commandments of love – love to God and love to the neighbor {Matthew 22:37–40} reveal love*2* as the source of the law and the prophets [[“the prophets” points to revelations – transfer of knowledge of God – conveyed through the prophets]].

The one could infer summary of the referred above texts of the Holy Scriptures as the following:

God the Creator is Love

the world created and loved by God exists

because of the life–creating love of God

and by the life–maintaining love of God

therefore, love is the main law, by which life is actualized,

and which must be observed by the one who wants to survive here, at the earth,

until the purposes of his earthly life are completed,

and then, to enter the next phase of life – the eternity in the presence of God

From the practical point of view, the one might infer that if he contemplates the foundation of daily life, which he perceives as survival–development–evolution–preparation for the next phase existence – the eternity, he contemplates the unity of the love*2* and the law*3*:

God is Love

Love was sent to save the world by giving it the everlasting life

Love is fulfillment of the law and the assurance of the everlasting life

In daily life, the broad term law*3* is applied at many levels, although only the law of love given by God – the law that regulates the spiritual life and therefore defines the preparation to the eternity – is the absolute law that stays above all laws either comprehended or invented by men: this law – the law of God – should never be violated.

The one could see the differences among the different kinds of law by reading the Gospels, in particular, the texts which convey the words of God concerning His law, on which the universe is built and exists, and the human laws, observance of which does not make a human being a true worshipers of the only One True God {e.g., Isaiah 29:13–15; Matthew 15:1–20; 22:36–40; 23; Mark 7:1–23;  John 4:23–24; Psalm 118(119)}.

The one also might perceive the progression of the perception of the law and, consequently, the stages of development of human mind by studying the Holy Scriptures, which

a/ portray the history of the nation that was chosen to become the keeper and carrier of the law of God, so the chosen ones would be prepared for the meeting with God {the Books of the Old Testament}

b/ convey the revelation of the Word–God Who explained God to His creations and came to collect the prepared ones – His Own ones whom He knew from the beginning, who are the sheep of His pasture, His children and slaves destined to live in His presence and to reign before Him through the eternity {the Books of the New Testament, esp., John 6:37–69; 10; 13; 14; 15; 16 ; 17; Matthew 18:1–14; 22:23–32; 23; Luke 15; 1 Peter ; 1 John; Revelation 21; 22:1–17}.

Such progression is the ascent from identification of the laws, which govern the simplest [[material–perceptible–visible]] to the comprehension of the laws which govern the most complex [[immaterial–spiritual–invisible]]:

FROM body–matter →→  TO mind–intelligence →→  TO spirit–soul

Thus, the preparation for the eternity

a/ begins with development of the ability to control own body and the material objects in its possession for the sake of compliance with the law of God {e.g., do to the others whatever you want to be done to you – Matthew 5; 6; 7:12; Luke 6:19–49}

b/ proceeds through development of the ability to control own thinking for the sake of compliance with the law of God  {in: Matthew 5:21–28; 15:18–20}

c/ is completed with perfection of the soul–heart–mind – the inner man*4*; who becomes the embodiment of the Law: the likeness of the Word–God, the firstfruit of new creations of God – His children and His slaves who will see His face, carry His Name, live in His Light, and reign in the eternity {Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:19–49; John 1:1–18; 3; 10:30; 13; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2:9–10; 1 John 3; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians; Ephesians 1; 2; Revelation 21:1–5}, for whom

God is the Perfect All–forgiving All–embracing Omnipotent Love without fear and suffering

God reveals Himself as the Absolute Good, Perfect Virtue and Righteousness,

and the Highest Standard of Perfection and Excellence to Whom a human being follows unwaveringly,

Whom he strives to imitate according to the commandments of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God,

and Whom he loves with all his soul, all his heart, all his mind, and all his strengths –

with all his thoughts, intentions, words, creations, and deeds

the law of God is the Absolute Law

the knowledge of God is the everlasting life*5*

Hence, the comprehension and observance of the law proceeds

FROM

A. the lowest level – the laws that regulate daily life of a mind and body within the particular time–space–complexity settings; some of them were defined as the Laws of Moses, and some of them, following the words of God, might be referred to with the collective term – the laws of the Caesar {in: Matthew 22:15–21}. These laws

1/ must be observed with particular kinds of behavior and rituals, by following [[manifested through speech, behavior, and actions]] norms, rules, and other ordinances established and enforced by the particular establishments for regulation of their operations and consequently, for control and surveillance of those who are the parts–members of the establishments

2/ are modified according to the changing time–space–complexity settings or even annulled because of modification, collapse, and destruction [[e.g., as a result of revolution, war]] of the establishments.

For instance, majority of the laws of Moses, which defined rules of hygiene, food, family life, were given to sustain the healthy life according to the human nature within particular time–space–complexity settings {e.g., Leviticus}. The laws have been tied to the local climate, surrounding idol–worshiping nations, and other conditions of the Promised Land: they were intended to secure survival of the ancient Israelites within the conditions of their life upon settlement in the Promised Land, and they have lost their significance with translation of the human civilization to the higher level of development.

However, the laws that established the meaning of the norm [[e.g., reverence to the parents, mercy to strangers, widows, and orphans, prohibition of speaking against God (giving names, expressing, cursing – blasphemy), deceit/lies, kidnapping, enslaving, sorcery, apostasy, incest, fornication, perversion, homosexuality, sodomy, bestiality, mixing of different beings/flesh]] cannot be changed, because they define the normal human nature {e.g., in: Exodus 21:15–17; 22:18–24; Leviticus 18:4–30; 19:11–19, 29–31; 20; 24:10–17; Deuteronomy 30:10–20; Matthew 15:1–20; 19:16–21; 22:36–40; 23; 24:35; Mark 7:1–29; John 8:37–47, 51; Romans 1; 2; 3; Revelation 22:12–15}. Although the acceptable by the family–society–state way of retribution for violations of these law has been changed in some countries [[e.g., in the US and in European countries, apostasy and other perversions became the personal choice, for which a human being is not executed as it was stipulated, for instance, by the Laws of Moses, and which is protected by the laws of these countries]], the original set of the consequences for the violation of the laws that define the human nature – degeneration, mental and physical disorders transferred to the offspring, diseases and plagues, suffering, and death – has not been changed: it remains the personal consequence of the personal choice

TO

B. the level of daily life of a human being – The Ten Commandments, the essence of which is unconditional love to God and love to the others; these are the absolute law

1/ upon which the social–political–financial–etc. activities and interconnections of citizens–members of the families–societies–states–nations should be arranged

2/ which can be neither modified according to the changing time–space–complexity settings nor annulled {Exodus 20:1–17; 32:15–16; 34:6–17; Leviticus 26; Deuteronomy 28; 30:11–20; Matthew 22:37–40; John 6:63–69; 14; 15; 16; 17; Revelation 22:12–15}

↓         ↓         ↓

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

TO

C. the highest level of the spiritual life of a human being for whose evolution [[through cognition of the evil and the good →→ choice of the good →→ working the works of the good]] this world has been arranged, and who

has cognized the Truth and fulfilled the law of love

became the embodiment of the Law of God – a new being created in Christ and by Christ

is born of God as the likeness of the Eternal Law – Λογος, the Word–God

strictly follows the way of reasoning [[thinking, discernment, and judgment]] set by the Word–God

lives by the Holy Spirit Who came in the name of Lord Jesus Christ

has obtained the highest freedom of a child of God,

because he dwells in love of God, as God dwells in him

{John 1:1–18; 14; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2:9–10; 1 John; 2 Corinthians 3:17}.

Consequently, in all kinds of the human affairs, the main law for a Christian is the law of love, and the highest justice is mercy: as St. James the Apostle writes {James 2:13}, mercy exults over judgment. Hence, for a Christian, mercy is above all human laws, firstly, because {Luke 6:27–38;  11:1–4; Matthew 6:9–13;  John 14:15–18, 26; 15:26; 2 Corinthians 1:3}

a/ God Whom a human being calls Father is the Father of all mercies and God of all comfort

b/ in the prayer given by the Word–God a human being asks forgiveness of God as he forgives the others*6*

c/ a human being has the special commandment of God: be merciful as the Most High, God the Father, is merciful {Luke 6:35–36}.

In other words, it might be said that the mercy is the ultimate justice*7*, which is appropriate to human beings and which should be the foundation of the establishments intended to survive and to maintain survival and development of human societies until their purposes are fulfilled.

However, neither love nor mercy defines the actuality of the current world, especially in relation to the Christians*8*.

Lord God Jesus Christ said {Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; John 15:20–25; 16:2–3} that His followers will be persecuted and expelled from the synagogues, that all the nations will hate them because of His name, and the hour comes when everyone killing His followers will think to bear service to God. These things they will do to His followers because

–– they do not know the Father nor Him

–– the one who hates Him also hates God the Father Who sent Him

–– they hate Him as offering*9*; obviously, as the offering to the “ο  του κοσμου τουτου  αρχων” – “the ruler of this world,” that has nothing in the Word–God {John 14:30}.

At present, coming of this hour is revealed by persecutions and murders of the Christians in all corners of the world, especially in the lands of Africa, Middle East, and Asia, where the executioners kill the Christians in the name of their god and celebrate their feasts by killing and punishing the different–minded ones.

Moreover, the plague of violence and terror is spreading onto the Western and other countries, especially European nations whose religious and political leaders, through the centuries, have fed their subjects with the Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology, which is the Aristotelian – heathen – doctrine mixed with the wordings from the Holy Scriptures, and which is misinterpretation of the Christian teachings, therefore, the false knowledge. The papal establishment blasphemously asserted the Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology as “Christianity”*10* and accepted it as the official doctrine, probably, because it justifies the papal quest for the world–wide domination, which started with Crusades for “the Holy Land.”

As the history reveals, the papal establishment initiated wars against many nations,  including Christian countries; the papacy waged crusades against Christians of Constantinople, against Orthodox Christians of Russia, and eventually, against Christians of Bohemia*11*.

Deprivation of the knowledge of God [[since 1214, the Inquisition made the Bible forbidden book for the Catholic laity*12*]] and feeding the papal faithful with images created by the papal theologians instead of the word of God, have led to the inability to differentiate the good and the evil, to the loss of the right discernment*13*. The consequent inabilities to identify the true essence of things and events and to foresee their consequences facilitated the transformation of the history of European nations into the uninterrupted chain of catastrophes, collapses, crises, and disasters.

In fact, all these catastrophes, collapses, crises, and disasters are the fruits of one deadly root: the false assumptions that

1/ the law of God is not the absolute law for a human being and for human establishments

2/ the law of God –– The Ten Commandments revealed through Moses –– can be violated without occurrence of the inevitable consequences, of which Moses warned at the beginning of the human civilization {Deuteronomy 26:16–19; 27; 28; 29; 30}.

As the result of these false assumptions, violations of the law of God became the institutionalized practices of daily family–social–religious–political life of the most part of the world; the violations of the law of God, not the observance of the law of God, define the behavior of the majority starting from the ordinary citizens, and finishing with leaders of all hierarchical levels of all social, political, and religious establishments.

In general, the one might assume that, for a Christian*14*, the world consists of two kinds of human beings:

1/ those who accept the law of God and follow it – the Christians, precisely, the Orthodox Christians who follow the teachings of Lord God Jesus Christ and keep traditions of the Christian Church arranged by the Apostles – disciples of Lord Jesus Christ

2/ the followers of other religions [[including the Catholics]], the ones who reject The Ten Commandments, the ones who worship multiple deities, and the intolerant ones who follow the laws of revenge and retribution, and who assume the right to discriminate, to persecute, and to murder the followers of other religions, including the Christians.

Conditionally [[by their attitude and their deeds, including those done to the Christians]], some of the followers of other religions might be grouped into three sets, or three acting forces (1 through 3).

1. The ones who by their words identify themselves as the followers of Christ, while they are the papal subjects and official doctrine of their – papal – church is the Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology and their words and deeds*10*

–– reveal that they, indeed, follow the Aristotle–Aquinas political theology – the heathen*15* idol–worshipping doctrine rooted in the Orphism, which substituted heathen philosophy for the teachings of Christ, and which deifies the pope – Prefect of the Inquisition

–– constitute the crimes against humanity [[the Crusades, the Inquisition, religious wars, forceful conversion, persecution and robbery of the different–minded, tortures and execution of the heretics, schismatics, and those who refused to recognize the pope as the substitute of God, cooperation with Fascism and Nazism, currently even growing adaptation of Marxism and socialism, abuse of children in the places of their worship, which they call “churches,” and in their charitable and educational institutions]]

–– reveal that, through the ecumenism, they pursue eradication of Christianity and assimilation of the Christians into the papal establishment for the sake of submission of the Christians to the deified man – the pope [[that is, for the Christians, is transformation into idol–worshipers, therefore, apostasy forbidden by the first and the second of The Ten Commandments]].

Furthermore, Thomas Aquinas – the main theologian and canonized saint of the papal church

a/ asserted that the sovereign who promulgates the law, “is above the law” because he can change the law. Consequently, the man whom God granted the “special power” [[that is the “divine person” or “divinely appointed functionary” – the pope]] can dispense from the divine law, even may allow the law not to be observed, and such dispensation benefits the common good [Summa Theologica I–II Q.90 a2, 3, 4; Q.96 a5; Q.97 a4]. With this assertion, Aquinas

            1/ elevates his sovereign – the pope – above the law of God; obviously, Aquinas shares the Thrasymachus’ point of view:  justice is the privilege of the strongest imposed on the weakest “moral simpletons” who must act for the advantage of their ruler [Plato Republic 343c]

            2/ exposes the actual framework of his reasoning – the heathenism*15*

b/ justified mandatory execution of the relapsed heretics, because the papal church cannot imitate God in His mercy to the relapsed sinners [Summa Theologica II–II Q.11 a4 ro2], and suggested war as the means to protect faith by extermination of non–Catholics: according to Aquinas, the “Christ’s faithful” wage wars not to convert the unbelievers [Summa Theologica II–II Q.10 a8 a], and so they established their faith by sword and fire – waging wars, killing, burning alive, plundering the creations of God

c/ asserted that heretics ought to be separated from the Church and handed over to the secular authorities for extermination “from the world by death” [Summa Theologica II–II Q.11 a3]; moreover, Aquinas defended the barbaric punishments and executions; he postulated that to maim a human being is consistent “with natural reason in relation to the common good” [Summa Theologica II–II Q.65 a1 ro1].

Thus, along with the doctrine of Aristotle the pagan philosopher who perceived man as a social animal–property–part of his owner–community–Polis*16*, the main papal theologian and canonized papal saint had introduced the heathen customs of inhumane punishment to the life of the papal community, which, nevertheless continued to cover itself with the name of Christ and to use the wordings from the Christian terminology!

As it could be inferred from their words and deeds {that is by evaluation of their words and deeds by the criteria given by the Lord and applied by His Apostles {in: Matthew 7:15–27; 12:33–37; 23; 24:4–5; 25:31–45; Luke 6:43–49; John 7:24; Acts 20:29–30; James 2:17–26; 1 John2; 3; 4}, this group, the Catholics – the papal subjects, disregard the teachings of Christ and defy the law of God, especially, the law of love and mercy.

2. The followers of other religions who do not accept Lord Jesus Christ as the Word–God – the Giver of the everlasting life [[Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, neo–heathen religions, and the others]], the majority of which identify Christianity with Catholicism and therefore, ascribe to the Christians crimes against humanity committed by the papal subjects as well as corruption of the papal clergy and abuse of children exposed with the current world–wide scandals

3. The atheists who deny existence of God and disregard His law; some of the atheists are indifferent to the Christians, while some of them ridicule the Christian faith and join enemies of the Christianity.

In summary, the world is the arena for three interacting and interconnected forces, which sprang from the same root – rejection of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and which impact physical survival and well–being of the Christians: the people, through whom they act, might

a/ be openly hostile to the Christians: to discriminate against, to persecute, to exile, and to murder them

b/ conceal their animosity and hatred to Christianity under the slogans of brotherly love, tolerance, and proclamations that the Christians are the people of the Book and therefore, are not the enemies of the followers of other monotheistic religions

c/ be indifferent to suffering, persecution, and slaughter of the Christians.

Whatever the words – cover–up slogans, proclamations, and propaganda –– might be, the deeds of the people of these groups [[e.g., wars, conflicts, plunder and impoverishment of the people of other religions, other races, and other nations, the body–mutilating laws and practices (e.g., such as female genital mutilation) elevated at the rank of the articles of faith, institutionalized capital and corporal punishment, restrictions of personal liberties and freedoms (e.g., the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, freedom of worship, freedom of access to information) persecution of the different minded, discrimination, persecution, and murder of the Christians, imprisonment and executions of the converts into Christianity]] expose the meaning of the world without Christ: inhumanity, injustice, slavery, cruelty, atrocities –– all of them indicate the collapse of human civilization and reversal into [[or continuing dwelling in]] the barbarism and medieval brutality.

Thus, the history of the Past and the actuality of the Present should provide the one who seeks the meaning of the good and the evil and understanding of humanity and inhumanness, with the convincing illustration: what are the consequences of

a/ rejection of the main law of the Christians – the law of love and mercy

b/ intolerance to the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God of the Christians.

The one could infer that there are three main groups of consequences of rejection and violation of the law of God:

1/ crimes against God and against His creations, crises, inhumanity, riots, revolutions, conflicts, and wars –– all of them provoked, committed, and waged/actualized by those who assume the right to disregard the law of God and well–being of the creations of God

2/ collapses of human establishments and institutions

3/ personal corruption, degeneration, and perversion resulting in inhumanity, cruelty to human beings and animals, incurable (and transferrable to the offspring) mental and physical disorders, suicides, disorders of the procreation, admissibility of abortions and artificial insemination, and the others.

All these initiate/cause immeasurable suffering of the majority of world population, especially those inflicted by incessant wars and conflicts in the lands of Africa, Middle East, and Asia inflicted by those who violate the law of God onto those who have no knowledge of the law of God nor power nor desire to live according to the law of God.

It seems that all the generations of thinkers of the Past and the Present who were and who are behind the policies and actions of nations, states, establishments, and societies, which have made violations of the law of God their daily routine, were and are not capable of simple logical operation: understanding of the connection between the root and the fruits. They cannot comprehend the inseparability of the violations of the law of God, on which the world that accommodates their existence is built, and consequences:

the root –– violation of the law of God

the fruits – the consequences of violations of the law of God

These consequences include destruction of their part of the world, extermination of the population through the incessant wars, by the fruits of atheistic–materialistic and ethics–free sciences*17*, impoverishments, incessant crises, epidemic crimes, terrorism, spreading of diseases and plagues, and collapse of the establishments they arrange for the sake of survival. Moreover, even if to accept that the mind of these three groups of people is not bound by the necessity to observe the Law of the Only One True God in Whom they do not believe, the warning given by God after the Flood – {Genesis 9:1–7} – has found its understanding and reflection in all codices of law instituted by different civilizations, empires, states, and other establishments: the link between murder of man [[and any violation of the law]] and the consequent retribution has been established. Thus, it is their own mind that has chosen to follow the way into the darkness {John 3:16–21; Acts 17:16–33; Isaiah 40:13–26; 44:6–20} and so, inflicted on them their own ultimate judgment and subsequently, became their own executor who leads them to suffering and death.

For the unbiased observer, as well as for the one who knows the nature of the world, the human nature, and the nature of things, this link is simple and unbreakable – today, as it was in the time of Moses who forewarned his tribesmen concerning the inevitable consequences of the violations of the law of God and put before them the inevitable choice between life because of observance of the law of God and death because of violations of the law of God {Deuteronomy 30:12–20}:

EITHER

observance of the law of God

well–being, abundance, and prosperity

OR

violation of the law of God

Insufficiency, collapse, destruction

The inevitable destruction

–– begins with the collapse of human reasoning that makes impossible

adequate evaluation of the actuality

proper judgment and foreknowledge of the consequences of possible actions

making the right choice of actions and acceptance of the comprehensive decisions

survival and development

–– proceeds according to the διαφθορον pattern – the pattern of total ruin*18*, through sometimes gradual and sometimes instant, yet always complete disintegration of all life–protecting and life–maintaining systems, which secure existence and survival of the wholeness/system [[establishment, society, state, nation, etc.]]

–– is finished with complete disintegration of the original wholeness/system, which has made violations of the law of God the actuality/daily life, and assimilation of its remnants by the enemies or the conquerors.

Then the infernal cycle of διαφθορον begins again; this time for the enemies or the conquerors who assimilated/consumed the remnants of establishments, which violated the law of God, if they also adopted the way to live by violations of the law, as those whom they subdued/destroyed/annihilated have passed through.

It seems that the greatest tragedy of the mind is the inability to comprehend the reason of all disasters, wars, and crises, which are the daily reality, because the mind is separated from the Source of Life – God; it became as the blind against the wall, as the ones who turned their mind aside from understanding {Isaiah 59:1–15} and who, then, similarly to the Phoenicians in their post–mortem inferno*19*, wander in the poisonous debilitating fog of the false knowledge incapable of perception, understanding, finding the road to the light and life.

So, what the one who understands the reason of the insufficiencies, impoverishment, and other evils, through which the establishment has to end its existence because it has violated the law of God, can do, if he is trapped within the establishment–violator of the law of God?

In the hour of darkness and terror, where the one can find hope and comfort?

For the Christians, such hope and comfort are in knowledge of the only One True God Who they serve by their thoughts, words, and deeds of the good, so their faith*20*, the essence of which is love, can shine even within the world of darkness, terror, and suffering {Matthew 5:14–16, 43–48; John; James 2:14–26; 1 John 2:8–11; 3; 4; Psalm 17(18):28}.

The knowledge of the only One True God differentiates

the one who persecutes, and expels, and kills the others in the name of his god

and

the one who does not inflict harm and suffering upon the others,

because he lives by knowledge of God Who is Love

Any one who is born into this world has two options, two realities, and to ends: life or death. He is empowered to choose only one of them ––

either the good or the evil

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

either the eternal life with God or the eternal death–separation from God

The one makes his choice by accepting one of two frameworks of knowledge ––

EITHER

the framework defined by the Absolute Law of God –

the true and eternal knowledge of the only One True God, God the Father Who is in heaven {Luke 11:2; John 17},

revealed by His Son – Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, Who is the One with the Father

{John 1:1–5, 18; 3:16–21, 31–36; 4:23–24; 10:30; 12:44–50;  14; 15; 16:7–15; 27–28; 17; 1 John; Psalm 147:15}

OR

the framework defined by the imagination*21* of man, which rejected the Absolute Law of God and with it, own life –

the false and temporal knowledge of the evil one: the arch–enemy of man,

which will face its end along with its offspring incapable of comprehension the Truth –

the children of the arch–evil who do the works of their father,

which is the father of lies and murderer of man from the first, in which there is no truth

{Matthew 3:7–12; 15:1–20; 23:1–35; Mark 7:5–13; Luke 7:29–35; 16:13–17; John 8:37–47; Revelation 20:2;

Genesis 3:1–6, 14–16; Deuteronomy 30:15–20; 32:16–18, 31–33}.

In other words, the one may infer that the choice of either to live according to the law of God or to suffer and to die because of violations of the law of God is the meaning of the ultimate judgment and the ultimate justice. The one himself either takes the road to the Light Who leads him into the eternity with God or the road into the darkness of the eternal separation from God {John 3:16–21}. As always, the one has freedom either to live or to die…

The one who desires to comprehend own nature and therefore, his origin, place within the universe, purposes, the Past, the Present, and the Future, the way of life and the path of evolution [[own and of those who depend on him]] – all that is the essence of man, the meaning of humanity and humankind, should begin with reading*22* of the Holy Scriptures: the Books of the Old Testament and the Gospels and other Books of the New Testament. If he has the desire to live and to find the understanding law of God and therefore, obtain the eternity with God, he should ask God for knowledge, understanding and wisdom. If he sincerely wants it, he might receive from God the Father of all mercies and all comfort, Who gives freely [[απλως – simply, unconditionally, just]] and without reproaching, the precious gifts*23* of reason and wisdom: all that is the highest good for him {Luke 11:1–13; James 1:5–8; 2 Corinthians 1:3–4; Proverbs 2:6–12}…

*1* In 1 John 4:16, Ο Θεος αγαπη εστι, και ο μενων εν  τη αγαπη, εν τω Θεω μενει, και ο Θεος εν αυτω –– God is Love, and [the one] remaining in love, remains in God, and God in him,  μενων and  μενει  are derivatives of μενω – to be stanch/determined, to remain, to be steadfast, to be firmly established in.

In John 15:4–7, when the Lord speaks of μεηνι/μεινατε/μεινητε/μενων εν Εμοι – the state of being firmly established/remain/dwell in Him, the words μεηνι/μεινατε/μεινητε also are derivatives of μενω.

*2* In general, love – αγαπη  – might be defined as the unity of

a/ desire of the highest good for the object of love

b/ knowledge: what is this highest good for the object of love and how to provide it

c/ actions intended to provide the object of love with the highest good.

Love αγαπη should not be confused with other feelings [[which, in English, also might be referred to as love]]: ερως – passion, carnal desire of possession, sex, and φιλια – friendship, amity, brotherly love.

For instance, when the one speaks of his love to God or of the love of God, he speaks of αγαπη; when the one speaks of bodily desires/lust and sex, he speaks of ερως; when the one speaks of love to brother or love to wisdom, he speaks of φιλαδελφια  or φιλοσοφια.

When the one speaks of

–– the love of God, he speaks of the laws–commandments of God given for the sake of the best good of all God’s creations: for their physical well–being and survival, and spiritual preparation for the everlasting life; e.g.,

a/ do not kill, do not steal, love the others as you love yourself  – that is do not deprive the others of their possessions and well–being

b/ do to the others whatever you want to be done to you

c/ love each other as God loves you – that is imitate God’s love in your dealings with the others {Matthew 5; 7:12; 22:37–40; Luke 6:19–38; John 13:34–35; 15:12, 17}

–– the one’s love as of the fulfillment of the law {e.g., in: 1 John 5:1–4; Romans 13:8}, he speaks of the one’s thoughts, words, and actions originated, planned, spoken, and accomplished in compliance with the commandments–law–words of God:

a/ because of the desire of the best good of the others

b/ for the sake of the best good of the others

c/ for actualization of the own nature, which became the embodiment of the Law of God – love.

*3* In the contemporary terms, law might be defined as the main code for creation, maintenance, and annihilation of purposeful developing entities–systems–living beings.

The Universe is an embodiment of the creative energy of God. At the levels accessible for the human mind, the divine creative energy might be defined as the source of the universal energy: the energy that is available for creation and maintenance of existence of realities and systems within the world perceivable by human senses.

The universal/main pattern–code of energy transformations – the law – defines the nature, time–range of existence, way of disintegration, and other parameters of the universe composed of the energy–matter structured at the different levels of complexity. This law might be envisioned as the main code according to which, within the chaos/pool of reserves, the purposeful system–reality–universe is arranged/comes into being. The chaos/pool of reserves consists of the derivatives of universal energy: the energy forms, reversible units energy←→matter, reversible and irreversible structured matter – elements, force fields, and other components necessary for creation and sustaining of life.

Life might be defined as the purposeful cycles of transformation of the divine energy of creation/universal energy at the different levels of complexity completed with creation of purposeful developing wholenesses/living beings and maintaining their existence at different time–space–complexity settings.

The unity of three inseparable correlated components is needed for any act of creation [[creation is actualization of the code]], including creations of a living being:

 1/ law→code

2/ energy→source of all forms of the energy and its derivatives, such as energy fields and energy–information–matter, from which the perceivable visible universe/world consists

3/ power→force→will→ability to apply/transform/use energy according to the law/code:

  LAW

  ⇕   ⇕

   ENERGY POWER

The law controls the nature of each wholeness/system/reality/living being that exists for a purpose: to actualize the set of transformations of the universal energy at its level of complexity. The essence and meaning of purposes, conditions, and results of energy transformations define the system’s nature.

In general, the law has three main functions:

1/ creation of a purposeful wholeness

2/ maintenance of the compliance–harmony–compatibility of all components of a system reality ←→ universe wholeness to the conditions, which sustain life and make possible development evolution of the system reality ←→ universe wholeness

3/ annihilation of the system reality ←→ universe wholeness, which deviated from the law and became incompatible with the (super)system ←→ (super)reality ←→ (super)universe that accommodated its creation and within which it was intended to accomplish the purposes it was created to accomplish.

When a being/system deviates from the main pattern/code/law that describes the meaning, conditions, and results of its existence, it perverts own nature and becomes unable to access the energy that otherwise would sustain its existence. Hence, the main pattern/code/law stipulates not only the life–sustaining processes; it carries the program of annihilation, which is activated when the being/system perverts own nature and becomes incompatible with the supersystem that accommodates its existence. Therefore, the universal law defines life and death: existence evolution/development of optimal potency and degeneration annihilation of each being/system.

The universal law also is referred to as the universal law of perfection, because it defines the optimum – e.g., the highest potency of creation of the highest good – of each system/being and directs each system/being toward the optimum; it provides one universal standard – the pattern of perfection as a derivative of the Absolute Good for each level of complexity {for instance, for a human being, to be perfect, as heavenly God the Father is perfect – Matthew 5:48} defined by the Word–God, Λογος/Αγια Σοφια {Matthew 5:17–19; 22:37–40; John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Consequently, the meaning of universality and perfection is compliance with the Word–God Who is the only Truth, the only Law, and the only Way to fulfill the law for the human mind that aspires to enter the eternity in the presence of God {Revelation 22:1–5}.

*4*  During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–information–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, of whom St. Peter the Apostle and St. Paul the Apostle write: ο κρυπτος της καρδιας ανθρωπος – the hidden heart of man {in: 1 Peter 3:4}, and the inner man who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται  – day by day, while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed {in: 2 Corinthians 4:16}, is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God.

St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9} – the space prepared for the works of God.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components [[subsystems]] of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος.

When the theological subtleties are not a subject of consideration, I use a brief contemporary and all–including (because a human being is the wholeness) definition – the mind.

*9* In John 15:25, the Lord says Eμισησαν  Με  δωρεαν  – where δωρ–εαν is a derivative of δωρ–εα – to bring cult gift/offering as sacrifice; for instance as δωρ–ις – the knife for sacrifices in Dorian cults. Δωρεα comes from διδωμι  in meaning of cult offerings. Therefore, the Lord tells that they who hate Him do it as the offering to their deity, which, as it follows from John 15:7–11, has been judged. Furthermore, sin/wrath of God remains upon the one who does not believe in the Word–God {John 3:36; 9:35–41; 15:7–11; Genesis 3:23–25}.

The referred above words of the Lord deepen the understanding of His followers, because they point to the connection between

apostasy of the “offspring of vipers,”

the sons of the arch–evil – the ancient serpent of Genesis,

the ones who, within them, do not have place for the Word of God

{Matthew 3:7–12; 15:1–20; 23:1–35; Mark 7:5–13; Luke 7:29–35; 16:13–17; John 8:37–47; Genesis 3:1–6, 14–16}

and

their hatred of the Word–God.

This hatred is their offering to their idols, for the sake of which they wish to murder True God

{John 8:37–47}

In Revelation 22:17, the same word δωρεαν accompanies the reference to the act of taking the Water of Life that is acceptance–receiving of the Holy Spirit, which [acceptance–receiving] is possible only for the one who believes in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and worships God in Spirit and Truth: in the Holy Spirit Who comes in the Name of the Word–God, and in Lord Jesus Christ Who is the Truth {cf. in: John 1:1–18; 4:10–14, 23–24; 7:37–39; 10:30; 14:6–17, 26; 15:26; 16:7–15; 17}.

English and Russian translations[*x*] are “freely,” “without a cause,” “without a reason,” and “напрасно” – unfoundedly, in vain.

*10* When the popes, who asserted that they are the “substitutes of God at the earth/vicars of Christ,” “universal fathers and shepherds,” substituted the heathenism, Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology, for the teachings of Christ, they created the void of truth, in which there is no place for the words of God. Gradually, this void of truth was filled with the figments of imagination and became the dream world similar to other heathen religions: it had been

a/ arranged

then

b/ by coercion, deceit, and corruption forcefully imposed on the multitudes of human being in sphere of their influence or reach

c/ was and is maintained by

                                    1/ deified popes who ascribed to themselves “absolute power” over life, death, and after–life of their subjects

                                    2/ in the past – by the acting inquisition with chambers of torture and stakes for burning people alive; currently, by the authority of canonized inquisitors, by the “special grace” [[invented by Thomas Aquinas]] of the papal office, and by the papal hierarchy of the superiors to whose voice the papal subjects must obey as to the “voice of God”

                                    3/ philosophizing theologians that justified the stakes of inquisition and execution of heretics, false prophets, and other wolves covered with the sheep skin – wordings from the Holy Scriptures.

The most revealing fact is that the Catholics themselves identify the Aquinas doctrine as “neo–Aristotelian system” [Holmes 7] and “Christian Aristotelianism” [McKeon 149], and according to Cardinal Léger, Aquinas “wonderfully expressed the Christian faith using the categories of Aristotle” and renewed theology with the “boldness” Catholicism needs today [Léger 23]: they do not differentiate between the heathen philosophy and the Christian theology.

In particular,

–– the pope John XXII canonized Thomas Aquinas in 1323. Other  popes referred to Aquinas as to “angelic interpreter of divine will” without any error in his work (Clement VII) and as to “the conqueror of heretics” and “defender” of the Catholic Church (Paul V) [Clement VII and Paul V qtd. and ref. in: New Catholic Encyclopedia 14:109–110]

–– in the sixteenth century, the Council of Trent (1545–1563) placed the Aquinas’ book Summa Theologica “on the high altar in second place only to the Bible” [Kreeft 11–12]

–– the pope Pius VI’s (1777) defined the Aquinas’ doctrine as the “most consistent with Sacred Scriptures and the Fathers”; then, Thomism was recognized as the “official teaching” of the Dominican order [the Dominicans carried out the duties of the inquisitorsNew Catholic Encyclopedia 14:110, 130]; so, the Dominican Order defended the Aquinas’ doctrine with the same diligence, with which the Dominicans–inquisitors exterminated heresies

–– in the twenty–first century, the Roman Pope Benedict XVI referred to the Summa Theologica as to St. Thomas' masterpiece, in which Aquinas "precisely, clearly and pertinently" outlines the truths of faith as they emerge from "the teachings of Holy Scripture and of the Fathers of the Church, especially St. Augustine" [Vatican Information Service; Twentieth Year – Num. 120; 06.23.2010]

–– the papal Code of Canon Law prescribes the studies of Aquinas’ doctrine, principles, and methods as the mandatory training for all Catholic priests

–– the official opinion of the papal hierarchy holds: “the inner harmony, the essential compatibility” exists between the Aquinas’ thought and the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church; Thomism is the Church’s answer to “the most pressing problems” [New Catholic Encyclopedia 14:109–110]

–– in the beginning of the twentieth century, during pontificate of Pius X, Aquinas’ Summa Theologica became the textbook for all papal institutions.

Contemporary papal theologians acknowledge that Augustine and Thomas Aquinas produced the “new metaphysics” out of the “Greek materials,” and opened the possibility “to ‘place’ God philosophically” – theology and philosophy became “largely identical.” Following the example of Augustine and Thomas Aquinas, the theologians must be philosophers; they must apprehend the Gospel through the deepened understanding of the world and man [Fairweather 364, 368–369, 375].

The very wording reveals the peculiar approach to the theology: equation of papal theology with heathen philosophy, therefore, transformation of the papal priests and “scribes” – papal theologians into the philosophizing heathens.

The Christian theology considers such approach as profane: any attribution to God of any knowledge created by human imagination/philosophizing, especially through finding analogies/similarities/”similitudes” to God the Spirit within the material world and by creating the images or “phantasms,” is blasphemy. The human mind is not capable of finding the “place” for Eternal God the Spirit among the temporal dissipating material things, and human mind is not capable of understanding of the Gospels – the Law and the perfection of God – with the images of the world, which is obliterating because of violations of the Law of God.

St. Paul the Apostle forewarned concerning seduction with philosophy and empty deceit {Colossians 2:8–9}, and St. Peter the Apostle wrote of those who speak because of over–swollen vanity, who turned from the knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ and from the holy commandment {2 Peter 2:12–22}.

Yet, Aquinas utilizes heathen philosophy for philosophical proof of the “truths about God” and better understanding by employing “certain similitudes” [The Trinity Q.2 a2 r3]; he also asserted that the “natural” knowledge of God is obtained through “the phantasms” of God’s effect because “imagination produces some form representing God according to some mode of likeness” [Summa Theologica I Q.12, a3 ro3, a13 ro2].

Only the heathens use imagination to produce images – “phantasms” of their deities. Yet, for the papal church, the heathen philosophy became the source of the official theological doctrine. The basis of Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology is heathen Orphic philosophy of the snake–worshipers, mostly Aristotle’s doctrine, which is incompatible with love, good, virtue, human dignity and freedom conveyed by the Christian teachings.

However, for a Christian, application of the false knowledge produced by the heathens to the only One True God is blasphemy; therefore, any identification of the heathen Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology as Christianity is also blasphemy.

*11* Christians of Bohemia, following Jun Hus the priest, demanded observance of the most sacred Christian tradition of the Christians – the Chalice of Salvation given by Lord Jesus Christ for all {Matthew 26:26–29; Mark 14:22–24; Luke 22:19–20; John 6:51–58; 15:1}. The Bohemian revolt began after the papacy condemned to death and burned alive, at the stake, Jan Hus the priest, for his loyalty to Christian teachings and for his criticism of the papal heresy and corruption.

The “crime” of Jan Hus was his protest against

1/ the substitution of the communion with only one element – bread (as it was established by Mani for his followers) for the Chalice of Salvation given by Lord Jesus Christ; the papacy invented this substitution following the Aquinas’ modification of the doctrine of transubstantiation with the Aristotle’s concept of accidents and therefore, elevated the heathen philosophical doctrine above the words of God

2/ against heresy and corruption spread by the papal establishment.

However, the execution of Jun Hus, in 1414, and the consequent unsuccessful crusade against Bohemia initiated by the pope Martin V initiated the manifested destruction of the Holy Roman Empire [in: Trager 141–142] and revealed the latent, yet, irreversible processes of decay, which ended the spiritual dominance of the papacy over Europe. The perjury committed against Jun Hus and his execution for the attempt to profess the true Christian faith had provided Dr. Martin Luther with the solid arguments, which facilitated acceptance and expansion of the Reformation [e.g., Luther Address to the Nobility].

New Catholic Encyclopedia ascribes to Martin Luther a remark: “it was Thomas Aquinas who prevailed over” Jun (John) Hus at the Council of Constance in 1414 [in: New Catholic Encyclopedia 14:110]; – did he? The papal hierarchy terminated earthly life of Jun Hus; the legacy of the Christian martyr initiated disintegration of the papal establishment sustained with the heresy of Thomas Aquinas.

This disintegration proceeded

1/ with humiliation and confinement of Pius VI and Pius VII (at the time of the French Revolution in 1789 and the Napoleon’s Empire in 1804–1815) and complete annihilation of the papal secular power in 1870 brought to the end the papal power and supremacy over the secular authorities

2/ with the eventual transformation of that what was the vast papal empire into the Vatican – the smallest state in the world (108.7 acres) [in: New Catholic Encyclopedia 10:964–965; 14:555]; besides, this autonomy the papacy had bought with the price of cooperation with Fascism [[trough the Concordat of 1929 with the Fascist Italy]].

However, even after the humiliation and apparent deprivation of the papacy of the secular power, its grip over mind and conscience remains unchallenged for the many; it fuels the ecumenical movement and sustains political and other decisions made by the papal subjects who occupy places at the different secularsocial, political, educational, government  hierarchies.

“Note *e10*

Many centuries the human mind chained to the Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology and similar heathen and heretical doctrines was intentionally kept in ignorance, because ignorance is a necessary condition for enslaving of the mind and for maintenance of slavery of the mind and body as the foundation of particular social, political, religious establishments, which operate on the basis of Aristotle’s universal master →→ slave pattern [[see Concept of Slavery – Supplement_2 to Archive_Selections_2015 file for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_3]].

For instance, after the Inquisition in Toulouse, in 1229, made the Bible prohibited book for the papal subjects, for the laity, the right to read the words of God has to be given by the special permission of the superiors. During many centuries, the knowledge of the original word of God was forbidden for the vast majority of the Catholics who had to be fed with the images produced by the papal theologians – “guardians” of their souls, and to accept as the “divine truth” any assertion, which the papal hierarchy considered beneficial for its own purposes. The Inquisition’s decision was supported with the drastic measures; for example, in 1536, William Tyndale was burned at the stake for translation of the Bible into English (published in 1526) [in: “Preface”. The Bible. New York: American Bible Society, 1970, pg. iii;  Trager, James. The People’s Chronology: A Year–by–Year Record of Human Events from Prehistory to the Present. Rev. ed. A Henry Holt Reference Book. New York: Henry Holt, 1992, pgs. 174, 179; Baybrook, Gar.  Heresies of the Christian Church.  Payson, Arizona:  Leaves of Autumn Books, 1998, pg. 603].

After prohibition of the Bible for the laity, the papal education began to impose (and still continues to impose) on the human mind the peculiar set of assertions (or “articles of faith”), which accentuate the necessity of unreserved obedience to the pope (who pretends to be the earthly substitute of God) as a mandatory condition of the eternal salvation of man, and similar fraud blasphemously covered with the name of Lord Jesus Christ.

These assertions compose the matrix of impotency and humiliating inferiority for every papal subject (esp. the laity) who does not belong to the high levels of the papal hierarchy.

In particular, this matrix includes such insinuations as

• faith is above reason

• God is the source of evil

• human reason of a simple man is impotent, because only the members of the papal hierarchy have all necessary knowledge by the “grace” of the papal office

• the soul of the papal prelate has the higher value than the soul of a simple man – papal subject

• the highest virtue and the main duty of man is unreserved obedience to the superior who stands on the place of God

• the papal hierarchy is enabled to change the meanings of sin and virtue

• the papal subjects must put aside own judgment and see black as white and the mortal sin as the virtue if the superior wishes so

• the papal laws must be observed even if they contradict The Ten Commandments

• for the sake of the papal good, a man can be tortured, maimed, and executed

• the papal church cannot imitate the mercy of God and must put the relapsed heretics to death so the papal subjects will be protected from the heretic’s influence

• the papal subject must unreservedly obey even the evil and wicked papal superior as if he stays at the place of God

• justification of the inquisition (the pope is the prefect of the inquisition)

• and so on and so forth.

Heresy, fear, fraud, and artificially created ignorance in the matters of Christian teachings are the elements planted by this matrix, which includes all that might transform man into a complete papal slave – by body, mind, and spirit – with easily modifiable conscience. One of the consequences of the education and culture founded on Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology and developed by the papal Magisterium is illustrated with the current world–wide scandals, which reveal moral and physical corruption of the papal officials and centuries–old abuse of the children by the papal “priests” in the places they call “churches.” Such utter corruption became possible because of the papal

1/ conversion into the heathenism (the basis of Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology is heathen Orphic philosophy of the snake–worshipers, mostly Aristotle’s doctrine), which is incompatible with love, good, virtue, human dignity and freedom conveyed by the Christian teachings

2/ invention of such sacrilege as “priest in the state of mortal sin” and Aquinas’ interpretation of the meaning of mortal sin as disobedience to the papal superior, while any violation of the commandments of God (e.g., murder, betrayal) is justified, if it serves the papal purposes

3/ culture of all–permissibility for the superiors equated to the papal god

4/ suppression and forceful silencing of the victims and (if the victims are not helpless orphans in papal “charitable” institutions) their parents.”

*14* When in my works I refer to Christians, I refer to the small group of the ones who know the only One True God and live, or at least attempt to live, by His commandments – by love and mercy to the others. These Christians are the Orthodox Christians who have accepted the original Christian Teachings given by the Word–God – Lord God Jesus Christ, and who keep the traditions established by the Apostles of Lord God Jesus Christ.

The Christians should not be mistakenly identified as the Catholics, and the Catholics, who also verbally identify themselves as the followers of Christ and claim to propagate the Gospels, should not be identified as and unified with the Christians.

The Catholics are the subjects of the deified leaders/popes who asserted themselves as the “substitute of God at the earth” and as the “head” of their church. Their church – the papal church of Rome, or the quasi–religious establishment – state: the Vatican – has accepted Aristotle–Aquinas political theology as its the official doctrine and follows the doctrine of unreserved obedience to the pope, whom they keep as the main condition of salvation and whom they accept as unavoidable supplement to the Holy Spirit [[see Ecumenism in The World & The War. Part I. Introduction. Ecumenism. Materialism. – file for download @ website Systems Logic by Alice–Sofia [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_2]].

Some generators of statistics assert that those who identify themselves as the Orthodox Christians compose less than 3% of the world population.

*15* Heathenism is a collective name for a special body of knowledge that is based upon multi–deity theology, with such objects of worship as idols – deified beasts, snakes, insects, humans, astronomical objects, forces of nature, objects of nature – ocean, sea, rivers, trees, mountains, rocks, man–made stone, wooden, and clay statues, “graven images,” human establishments – states, political parties, ideas, doctrines, and other images and hand–made material things – idols.

The core of the heathenism is death – idolatry; the essence of idolatry is worship to the arch–evil in the image of the serpent; however it might be covered with different images: different idols.

The most distinctively formed doctrine that unambiguously conveys the essence of the heathenism is the Orphism, which sustains theological–philosophical–political doctrines of Plato, Aristotle, and their followers.

The Orphism became the root of many heathen religions and cults, especially, the cults of serpents/reptiles – the cults of death, in which the attributes of deities include horns, paws with claws, tails, snakes, and horned animals (e.g., the ancient Minoan goddess coiled with snakes and holding snakes).

The Orphism, firstly, is mythical serpentine theology; that is why, in the Gospels, the followers of Orphism and its derivatives (cults of different idols of the Israel’s neighbors – idol–worshiping nations) are referred to as “offspring of vipers,” as the sons of the arch–evil [[the ancient serpent of Genesis]], as the ones who, within them, do not have place for the Word of God {Matthew 3:7–12; 15:1–20; 23:1–35; Mark 7:5–13; Luke 7:29–35; 16:13–17; John 8:37–47; Genesis 3:1–6, 14–16}.

Excerpt

“Heresy

…The Chaldeans created the most elaborated system of social and political protection – the universal model, which determined the longevity of the Chaldean–Babylonian civilization (3000~539 B.C.).  The traces of this model can be detected in Egyptian, Minoan, Greek, and then, Roman structures of the power. In particular, the law issued by the king was the absolute law even in the religious matter; the king himself has no authority to change his own law after it was enacted {Daniel 6:8, 12, 15}.

Following the universal model, the heathen societies of the Past held the religious beliefs to be the most significant element of the cohesive power (although the doctrines and the deities might be different), which sustains the establishment and defines its strength in the time of peace and prosperity as well as in the time of war and troubles, In fact, even today, all kinds of establishments (without exceptions, tyrannies as well as democracies)  follow the ancient Egyptian dogma: the absolute authority to define the beliefs of the subjects and define the meaning of truth (as well as the meaning of good and evil, virtue and sin) belongs to of the head of the hierarchy – pharaoh–king–ruler–pope–leader; anyone who challenges this authority must be exterminated, exiled, expelled, proclaimed to be insane, that is by any means must be removed from any position of influence on the others.

In ancient Greece, Plato invented the special Nocturnal Council, which controlled the people’s beliefs and the manner of life; the Council had the peculiar rights:

– for the sake of salvation of person’s soul to imprison a person whose openly expressed beliefs or behavior are inconsistent with those accepted by the state

– to impose the penalty of death (without proper burial) on those who have not returned to the “right mind” after imprisonment and persuasion

– to determine, who “deserve more than one death” [Laws 908a–e, 909a–910d, 951c–e, 961a–b] that is to condemn the soul of heretic to the eternal death after execution.

For a free thinker, the only problem in such situations would be determination whose mind is more insane – one who risks his life by preaching new fantasies or one who protects the old fantasies by ascribing to himself the power to rule the after–life and to condemn the soul of “heretic” to spiritual death. Yet, even if the truth is known, the very nature of man makes him to rebel against false and lies; the problem is that without knowledge of truth, the rebels, at least temporarily, accept other lies and follow other deceivers…”

my book The Invincible Empire, Chapter 8

*18* Greek compound word διαφθορον, which usually is interpreted as corruption, perversion, or complete moral collapse/ruin, also denotes the totality of physical, moral, and religious ruin {as in Psalm 106(107):20}.

Primarily, apostasy – as violation of the first two of The Ten Commandments, as rejection of faith in God and intentional disregard and violations of the Law of God, initiates processes of collapse according to the διαφθορον pattern.

The διαφθορον pattern describes also the utter collapse–ruin of any system, in which alien knowledge takes the place of the original meanings of truth; it can be always discerned within the chaotic totality of the events identified as revolution, war, defeat, impoverishment, assimilation by enemies {e.g., as it is in: Deuteronomy 28:47–48}, and overall processes of disintegration of empires, states, and other establishments/systems.

Personal διαφθορον reveals itself through completed – total – corruption, apostasy, or crimes against God and His creations, when a human being is not able to achieve any of good purposes, is unsuccessful in his endeavors aimed to prosperity and increase of overall quality of life, lives in ignorance, bewilderment, injustice, unrighteousness, hardship, and dissatisfaction with the fruits of his labor, even if he possesses riches, fame, and has access to the power of coercion.

The Old Testament prophets described conditions of spiritual and material neediness, which are the consequences of the collapse described by the διαφθορον pattern {e.g. in: Isaiah 59:1–15; Micah 6:11–15; Habakkuk 1:1–17; 2:15–17; Haggai 1:6}. In the New Testament, such self–ruined people of incurable devastation are referred to as to

a/ the ones who already have been judged {ηδη κεκριταιJohn 3:18–20}, because they love darkness more than the Light, their works were evil, and they go into the darkness so their works may not be exposed

b/ the ones who are not of God, who are children of the arch–evil {in: John 8:42–47; 1 John 3:4, 8–10, 15}

c/ false prophets and false teachers, clouds driven by tempest, for whom the eternal darkness is kept {2 Peter 2:1–22}.

*19* The Phoenicians imagined that after death of a body, the soul enters the realm of blinding fog ruled by the cruel goddess indifferent to the prayers of the doomed. In the infernal fog, the soul has to wander helplessly and lonely, without any purpose, isolated, forgotten by God and by men, unable to see, to hear, to discern, to feel anything, and deprived of any expectation of mercy, of any chance to find the way to the light and life.

*20* St. Paul the Apostle defines faith as the substance of all expectations and the evidence of the unseen {Hebrews 11:1}; those who have faith see the unseen and eternal {2 Corinthians 4:13–18}.

Faith is the optimal state of reason; otherwise Lord God would not seek it in His creations {in: Luke 18:8; John 9:35–39; 11:25–26}. The Holy Scriptures provide the comprehensive definition of faith: all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority are in Lord God Jesus Christ – He is  της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; 12:2; Romans 14:23}.

Through faith, the mind learns love and knowledge of God – the knowledge that is the eternal life {John 17:3}.

According to the Christian teachings, faith is life: the life–bearing knowledge of God and the unity of the acquired knowledge with the manner of life; the just one lives by faith {Habakkuk 2:4; Luke 7:50; 1 Peter 1:9; James 2:14–26}.

In other words, faith is the state of cognizance/knowing God, love to God, living by God, and unity with God. Faith gives comprehension of the essence of all events that compose life of the soul–heart–mind. The Holy Scriptures provide the simple and detail instructions for all who have faith in God. It might be also said that faith defines process of human evolution, because faith allows obtaining completeness of knowledge of the Word–God and prepares for the eternity with God {in: John 6:27–29, 44–48; 8:31–32,34–36; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:1–11}.

The Kingdom for a Child

As many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God,

to the ones believing in His Name.

who not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God were born

{John 1:12–13}

If one does not receive birth from above, he is not empowered to comprehend the kingdom of God

That, receiving birth from the flesh, is flesh; and that, receiving birth from the Spirit, is spirit

{John 3:3, 6}

the kingdom of God is within you

{Luke 17:21}

The Gospel According to John begins with revelation of God Who is the Word {και Θεος  ην ο ΛογοςJohn 1:1}, through Whom all came into being, in Whom was life that was the light of man, and Who is the One with Him Who sent Him  {John 1:1–5; 10:30; 12:44–50; 14:6–11; 17:21, 23}.

Then, Chapter 3 describes the meeting of the Lord with Nicodemus, one of the leaders of Judea, who came to the Lord by night {John 3:1–21}. The Lord explains to Nicodemus, that

– only one who is born from above*1* – from the Spirit – is empowered to comprehend the Kingdom of God

– no one has gone up to the Heaven, except Him, Who having come down from the Heaven is in the Heaven.

The Chapter 3 is completed with an explanation, which John the Baptist gave to his disciples and those who asked him concerning the Lord of Whom he [John the Baptist] already witnessed that He is the Son of God Who is taking the sin of the world {John 1:29; 3:25–36}, and the meaning of the Kingdom of God and life of man is elaborated in the consequent Chapters {John 4; 6; 10; 14; 15; 16; 17}:

– a man is empowered to receive nothing unless it is given to him from the Heaven

– the one who is being of the earth [man of flesh – the one who disregards spiritual life and lives by the vales of the material world] is the earth and of the earth speaks

– the One coming out of the Heaven is above all: the One Whom God sent speaks the words of God, for not by measure God the Spirit gives

– God loves His Son and has given all in His hand

– the one believing into the Son has the everlasting life*2*; the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him

– it is the Spirit Who makes alive; the flesh does not benefit/assist – nothing!

– the words that the Lord speaks to His followers are Spirit and life {John 6:63}

– authority over all flesh is given to the Word–God, so He may give the everlasting life to all that God the Father gave to Him {John 17:2}

– this everlasting life is that they may know the One Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He sent  {John 17:3}

– the Lord gave to His followers the words given to Him by God the Father, so the Son is in them, and the Father is in the Son, thus, they may be sanctified in the Truth – in the Word of God, perfected/completed into one and loved by God the Father even as He loves the Son {John 17:17–26}

– they who believe in Him may be one in God: as God the Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father, so they also may be one as God the Father and God the Son are  One {John 17:21, 23}.

The summary:

God is the Spirit, and He seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth:

the Truth, the knowledge of the everlasting life, is the Word–God

the Holy Spirit comes in the Name of the Word–God

because of the Word–God and by the Holy Spirit, man of the earth is transformed into the living eternal spirit:

a child of God the Spirit and inhabitant of the Kingdom of God

{John 4:23–24; 14; 15; 16; 17}

Thus, from the very beginning, the kingdom of Heaven*3* is presented as the highest sphere/universe – the realm of God the Spirit. Man of the earth/flesh is not empowered to comprehend this Kingdom, and he has no access to it –– until he is born of the Spirit of God and becomes a child of God the Spirit, the vessel for the words that are the spirit and life,

the one who has learned to live by the commandments of the Word–God:

who has accepted the words of God that are spirit and fire

and learned to differentiate between life of the flesh and life of the spirit

the one who is taught, illuminated and guided by the Holy Spirit

the one who has received the complete*4* knowledge of God that is the everlasting life

the one with whom God establishes His dwelling

{John 6:63; 14:15–26; 15:26; 16:7–15; 17}.

Furthermore, in The Gospel According to Luke {Luke 17:20–21}, the Lord says:

The Kingdom of God does not rise noticeably; nor it can be inferred that it is here or it is there*5*. For behold: the Kingdom of God is within you.

Establishment of the Kingdom within the human essence – soul–heart–man – is accomplished by the power of God the Spirit, unnoticeably for the outer world – the world of the material things, as well as for those who are the outsiders.

It means that the one, who lives by flesh – by the material world, by the values measured by the material things, and by the figments of imagination – by images produced upon perception of the material things [[that is, for instance, a heathen, an atheist, the one who worships the deified matter]]*6* has neither an ability to perceive nor capacity to comprehend the kingdom of God. Although he could have the greatest possessions of lands, wealth, armies, earthly forces, etc.,

–– his power is the power over the temporarily structured matter arranged to accomplish a purpose and to dissipate, when the allotted time is completed

–– his thoughts will come to end and depart at the moment of his death – separation of his spirit from his body/flesh/temporarily arranged material structure*7*.

Hence, if the Kingdom of God is the Future of children of God {John 14:1–3; 17:24; Revelation 20; 21}, it means that

a/ the one can perceive the kingdom of God only if he has been born of God

b/ only the one who became the child of God, who lives by the Holy Spirit, receives the power to enter this future

c/ life of the spirit is not life of the flesh: the kingdom of God is not in the earthly possessions, and it cannot be acquired with the values of the material world {1 Peter 1; 2; 1 John 2:15–17; 5:4–5, 17–21; Romans 8; 14:17; 1 Corinthians 3:16–20, 23; 6:9–20; 15:37–58; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; 4:6–11, 16; 6:14–18; Galatians 5; 6:4–7}.

The end – death–disintegration is the way of all flesh, of all creations of man–earth, and of all earth: all earthly kingdoms and establishments of men who are the earth, as well as the earth itself, will be annihilated as it is predicted in the Holy Scriptures {Daniel 2; 2 Peter 3}.

The Book of Daniel {Daniel 2} has a story: the Babylonian king saw in his dream*8*

–– an image (εικων – image, icon, idol, likeness) – the structure/idol of terrifying vision and tremendous appearance; the idol was composed of the materials that symbolize interconnected chain of the different kingdoms – the entirety of establishments of men

–– the stone, which was not cut by the hands of men

–– the destruction of the idol: the stone cut out of the mountain destroyed the idol, became the great mountain, and filled all the Earth.

Daniel interpreted the dream as a prophecy of the eternal kingdom established by God: this Kingdom will overwhelm and destroy all kingdoms of men, yet, it will fill the entire earth and it will last forever. If to admit that any creation of man is the act of embodiment of some knowledge into some material structures – the arrangement of material things, then, the dream foretells that the knowledge with which men created their material establishments will be annihilated, and the knowledge of the Kingdom of God shall become the entirety of knowledge–contents of human reason/mind.

The story of Nabuchodonosor the king in Babylon {Daniel 2} teaches that all the might, all glory, all wisdom of mortal rulers is nothing before God. God is the Giver of wisdom and understanding {Daniel 2:20–23}; God is the only One giving security in the times of troubles, prosperity in the time of needs, wisdom to the low and afflicted ones, and invincibility to fragile structures of the matter (kingdoms, states, empires, societies, other establishments) that man creates for accomplishment of his purposes – if they are consistent with the will of God. The Daniel’s prophecy reveals anticipation of the time, when ultimately, the knowledge of the Word–God, the Glory of God, will annihilate the false knowledge and fill the entire earth [[man]]; then, the children of God will be with God forever {in: Exodus 33:19, 22; Habakkuk 2:14; Zacharias 4:6; John 17:3, 5, 22–24; Revelation 19:11–21; 21:1–7; 22:1–5}.

When knowledge of God is given to the mind and accepted by the mind, it gives the strength*9* to the human spirit; it establishes God as the Absolute, as the focus of human universe [[soul–heart–mind]], opens the mind for comprehension that the law is the Perfect Love of God, the Absolute Good for man, and therefore, destroys the futile assumptions of men. This knowledge also is the dividing sword {Matthew 10:34–36; Luke 12:51–53; Ephesians 6:17–18; Hebrews 4:12–13; Revelation 1:10–20; 19:11–21} – the absolute weapon*10*: it separates two realms allotted to comprehension of man – life and death. So, by accepting this knowledge or by rejecting it, the one makes his choice: life or death

that is born of flesh is flesh, and that is born of Spirit is spirit

↓                                      ↓

the thoughts of flesh lead to death; the thoughts of the Spirit lead to life and peace

↓                                                                          ↓

the wisdom of this world is insanity before God; the knowledge of the Spirit is life

those who learned knowledge of the Word–God should disregard the earthly “wisdom”

[[that is, firstly, to avoid sin, pollution and corruption with idols –

figments of human imagination, which is inclined to the evil]]

because their power is in the knowledge of God given by the Holy Spirit in the Name of the Word–God

{John 3:6; 6:63; 14:15–17, 23–26; 15:26; 16:13–15; 1 John;

Romans 8:5–17; Galatians 5:19–26; 6:8; Philippians 3:18–21; Colossians 2:6–9, 18–23; 1 Corinthians 2:5–7; 3:19–20}

If the knowledge of God fills the entire heart–mind, as in the dream of the ancient Babylonian king the stone fills the entire earth, this knowledge, which has the beginning and end in the Word–God,

a/ establishes the Absolute Good of God, Who is everything of His creation – Α και Ω, the Beginning and the End, as the Absolute Good for man and of man*11*

b/ destroys the matrixes that the establishments of men build and impose onto the mind with the intention to enslave human beings with the false knowledge, through control of thinking and silencing the conscience*12*

c/ opens the boundless freedom of cognition, which begins with the right discernment*13* established upon the Word–God and culminates in the knowledge that is the everlasting life obtainable only through the Word–God and given by the Holy Spirit

d/ accomplishes destruction of the covenant with death – redemption and deliverance from the slavery of sin and shadow of death {Psalm 106(107):10–11, 13–20; Isaiah 28:17–18} and then, completes the destruction, which is set for the earth [[man without God is the earth – χουν απο της  γης – the pouring dust of the earth {Genesis 2:7}]], that is those who, according to own self–judgment, come into the darkness to face the eternal separation from God {John 3:18–21; Matthew 8:11–12}.

Again, this destruction is accomplished by knowledge – by the absolute weapon*10* of the Word of God {Revelation 1:16; 19:21; Ephesians 6:17}. This knowledge as the sword dissects the cover of flesh –– deceit and false assumptions, reveals the actual essence of man*14*, for instance, either a child and servant of God or offspring and servant of the arch–enemy, and destroys the false knowledge/lies of the enemies of God {Psalm 67(68):1–2; Mark 2:8–12; John 1:12–13; 2:23–25; 8:37–47}.

Another story from the Book of Daniel {Daniel 4} illustrates the essence of the mind that builds its life without knowledge of the only One True God. The one could infer that such a mind that either has no knowledge of God or has rejected God, and then, focused itself on the world of the material things –– even embodied into the mightiest empire reaching the limits of the inhabited world [[for instance, such as it was Babylon in the time of Daniel]] and giving its owner all the heights of human glory and power –– might be equated with a trunk of a tree cut off the root and of branches: it has no actual foundation and it fruitless. It is not able to prevent collapse of the human creations/establishments, and its natural end is disintegration, for instance, such as becoming the food of fire – as either mutilated tree {in: Daniel 4:1–34} or stalk without root and grain {in: Malachi 4:1} is.

Although the greatness of human creations might increases greatly hurrying up even to the heaven and its power might reach the limits of the earth [[such limits could be, for instance, inhabited lands, physical strength, potency of the mind of man of the earth]], it all – human greatness, power, wisdom, whatever – is nothing before God.

Ultimately, all the knowledge of men, which was created by their imagination fed by the images of the material world*15*, and which they embodied into their kingdoms, empires, establishments, will be exposed as the dissipating dust and annihilated, so nothing will be left. The Kingdom of God will fill the entire earth:  man will come to the knowledge of Truth and will live by the Light of God forever.

And I think, if such is the end of all creations of human mind that lives by the images of the temporal material world, could it be any sense in creating knowledge that does not have place in the kingdom of God?

Do not, then, the human sciences, which deny existence of God and disregard His law, look like the ones described by Isaiah the prophet {Isaiah 59:1–15}: they trust in vanities and bring forth iniquities, their creations have no actual worth, their discoveries are discoveries of lethal poison that kills; while they expect illumination, they have perplexity; their mind is turned away from understanding: they became the false prophets spreading false knowledge, and there is no salvation in them*16*?

So, is not the Isaiah’s text {Isaiah 59:1–15} the exact description of the contemporary reality?

How then, the one could come to the knowledge of truth without which the mind is empowered of nothing?

The answer is already given to those who long for the knowledge of truth

– as Daniel the prophet writes {Daniel 2:20–22}, may the name of God be blessed for ever: for wisdom*17* and comprehension are His, and He gives wisdom to the wise ones and prudence to those with the ability to comprehend [[the ability to comprehend and to obtain wisdom – the right discernment*13* – comes through observance of the commandments of God]]; for He reveals deep and secret knowing that is in the darkness, and the Light is with Him

– as the Lord says, those who observe His commandments – who love God and worship Him in Spirit and Truth – will receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit – they shall be taught by God Himself; they shall dwell in the Love of God, with Him, and in Him {John 4:23–24; 6:44–69; 10:1–30; 12:44–50; 14; 15; 16; 17}

– as St. Peter the Apostle writes, by the Divine power of God, all is given to us through επιγνωσεως*18*  – the complete knowledge of the One Who is calling us by His glory and virtue and opens to us the Future in His kingdom {2 Peter 1:2–11}.

There is one detail in Daniel’s prophecy, which makes me think that whatever the mind can see and learn now, is just a beginning of the great feast of knowledge prepared by God to His children: the stone that destroyed the idol–entirety of human knowledge embodied into earthly establishments was just a part of the mountain, and this stone became the great mountain that filled entire earth {Daniel 2:34–35}. What is then, the mountain from which the stone was cut? Could the one assume that the knowledge, which the mind is empowered to receive here, at the earth, is just a first letter of the alphabet of the eternity and the path of knowledge is to continue after the mind enters its future in the kingdom of God {Revelation 22:1–5}?

*2* The everlasting (or eternal) life in the kingdom of God Who is the Spirit {John 4:24} – immortality – is presence of God the Spirit within His creation. Everlasting life/immortality becomes the actuality of a human being only if the Word–God becomes the στερεωμα, within which, by the power of God and because of the will of God, the human being is transformed/re–created into the immortal child of God: the certain firstfruit of creations made in likeness of the Word–God – the Word of Truth {James 1:18; 1 John 3:1–2; Romans 8:28–30; Colossians 1:9–22; 3:10–11}, the one who lives by the Holy Spirit and who is enabled to withstand the eternity in the presence of God the Spirit {while the Old Testament’s human being is not able to see God and live – Exodus 33:18–20}.

The Word–God creates the foundation – στερεωμα {as the firmament of the new world – Genesis 1:6; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23–25; Ephesians 2:10} within the human essence and gives the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life: on the στερεωμα, by the Holy Spirit, the immortal child of God is created–built–established with knowledge of God, by the Power of God, and with the Energy issuing from God {in: Psalm 103(104):30Εξαποστελεις το Πνευμα Σου και κτισθησονται – Thou shall send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created( established/made); Psalm 17(18):1–2: Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μουI love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament; John 1:1–4, 12–13; 3:5–6; 7:37–39; 16:13–15; Ephesians 2:1–22}.

The knowledge of God, which is the eternal life is the knowledge given by the Word–God: His Law, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good, that is the everlasting life {John 17:3, 6} – this knowledge makes possible life by the Holy Spirit, because this knowledge became the inner foundation and structure of the new creation of God in Christ and by Christ destined from the beginning of times for the eternity with God.

When the one accepts the Word–God, the knowledge that He gives – the knowledge of God (knowledge of the law of God: His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good), becomes the Firmament: the foundation of the one’s intelligence/reasoning and the framework–space, in which a human being

evolves into the dwelling of God

is enabled to accept the Holy Spirit of God – the Divine Fire

Who ignites the eternal life within the creature of dust

is prepared for the eternity in the presence of God

By Christ and in Christ – by the Word–God and in the Word–God – an immortal human child of God comes into being and will be resurrected/transformed for the eternity with God {John 1:12–13; 3:16–17; 11:25–26; 17; 1 Peter 1; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians 2; 1 Corinthians 15; Galatians 3:26–29; 4:6–7; Colossians 1; 2; 3}.

Therefore, when the Old Testament’s texts tell that God is the prophet’s στερεωμα {Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μου, και καταφυγη μου, και Ρυστης μου – I love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament, and my refuge, and my Deliverer – Psalm 17(18):1–2} and the human heart is firmly established (εστερεωθη) in Lord {1 Kings 2:1}, they convey knowledge revealed by the Holy Spirit {John 5:39; 2 Peter 1:19–21}:  man shall live by God, because of God, and in God {John 5:39–47; 6:45–58; 10:11–18, 27–30; 17:21–26}.

Ουκ ερχεταιουκ – no, not; ερχεται – rising, as a derivative of ερχομαι – to come, to rise, to arise, to pass, to begin   [[as in αστηρ  ερχεται  αγγελλων φαος ηους  – star is rising announcing light of the dawn [as it is told by Minoan–Ionian language of Homer, which became Koine, on which the New Testament is written]]]

μετα περατηρησεως – by noticeable manner, through observation

ουδε ερουσιν: ουδε – also not, ερουσιν – flowed out–inferred; ε−ρο−υ−σιν is a derivative of ρο−ηρο−υ−ς – flow, torrent, stream

η βασιλεια του Θεου – kingdom of God

εντος υμων εστιν  -  in, inside, within; within something/someone.

Thus, the exact translation:

The Kingdom of God does not rise noticeably; nor it can be inferred that it is here or that it is there. For that, the kingdom of God is within you.

*9*  A human being is the wholeness, the unity of heart–soul–mind and the core strength – ισχυος – of this wholeness is love to God. A human being lives by the Holy Spirit of God, by each word from the mouth of God–Creator and Redeemer.

The meaning of strength (ισχυος) includes not only an ability to contemplate the use of physical power (the power to manipulate the material things and the power of coercion) and to use it wisely; strength refers to the power of human spirit. In fact, the only actual power that a human body – the fragile piece of the temporary structured matter – has is the power of the spirit, which the body carries through the world of the material things.

Δυναμεως – physical power to accomplish actions – is the property of a human body within the material world, and the main property of man in the Septuagint. With the coming of the New Testament, ισχυος –  strength – identifies the human mind prepared to see beyond limits of the world of the matter. Although meaning of strength includes the ability to contemplate the use of physical power and to use it wisely, strength refers also to the power of human spirit.

God Himself is the strength of the Christians, the refuge, hope, and salvation; the Christian faith is the victory over the world; the Christian strength is not in the power of weapon or armies, but in the Spirit of Almighty God. Only in God are salvation and healing and the hope for the better Future: by the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God, life and salvation, wisdom and victory come {Psalm 110(111):10; Proverbs 2:6–12; 1 Kings 2:3–9; Zacharias 4:6}.

God is the protector, and wisdom, and light, and life everlasting; before Him, all empires and powers of the world are as dust dissipating under the wind. At the same time, the weakest and the humblest ones are omnipotent if the Holy Spirit of God dwells in them and if, for His purposes, God protects them until they accomplish His will {Psalm 26:1–3, 14; 30:25; Zacharias 4:1; Daniel 2:31–45; Habakkuk 3:18–19; 1 John 5:4–5; Ephesians 6:10–17}.

The history of collapsed heathen civilizations and ruined godless empires, which in their times, were the mightiest establishments/systems in a possession of all the resources they needed to survive and prosper, conveys the simple lesson: all the human power is nothing, if it is not sustained by God.

*17* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God. This power is given by the Holy Spirit Who comes because of the Word–God, the Holy Wisdom of God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια – to the one who has faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, who loves God, who accepted the knowledge of God, and who proved his love to God with observance of His commandments and with the deeds of good {John 14:14–26; 15:10–17; 17; 1 John 3; 4}.

*18* Επιγνωσεως is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition: the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to work according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11}. Επιγνωσεως is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness – that is firstly,

the power to know the Truth

the freedom from the evil and liberation from sin

the power to accomplish the words of Truth making them the essence–fabric of own entire life

Wisdom and Fear

But whence has wisdom been discovered? And what is the place of knowledge?

A mortal has not known its way, neither indeed it has been discovered among men...

{Job 28:12–13}

Job the Righteous {Job 28:12–28} did not discover wisdom in the realm, which accommodates physical existence of man. There is no wisdom in the depth, in the sea, in the sky; wisdom cannot be acquired for the price of pure gold and precious stones. Although destruction and death have heard of it, it cannot be found among men. Ultimately, Job recites the words of God, which He said to man: godliness is wisdom, and to abstain from evil is knowledge {η Θεοσεβεια εστι σοφια, το δε  απεχεσθαι  απο  κακων, εστιν  επιστημηJob 28:28}.

Everything that does not comply with the will/law of God is evil. Thus, abstinence from evil, which is violation of the law of God, signifies possession of knowledge that

a/ the root of any and all evils is non–compliance with the law of God

b/ non–compliance with the law of God indicates perversion of the nature

c/ any perversion of the nature leads to degeneration following with collapse and ultimately, premature death.

For instance, according to Moses’ warning concerning “curses,” which would fall upon the lawless ones {Deuteronomy 28:15–68; 29; 30}, retribution for evil–violation of the law of God includes insufficiency of all kinds, famine, drought, suffering, submission to enemies, humiliation, dishonor, slavery, insanity, inadequate perception, perversions of mind and body, incurable diseases, plagues, and death.

Thus, before the one makes his choice – either to accept the law of God and to live according to the law*1*  or to reject the law of God and to live according to human illusions and dreams [[e.g., worship hand–made idols and figments of sick imagination*2*]] – he should know the consequences of his choice: it was presumed that fear of suffering and misery would prevent violations of the law.

Since, many generations have been held in fear before inevitable retribution; they were fed with images of angry and revengeful God. These images were created by the false prophets, priest–diviners, and theologians philosophizing at the steps of thrones of self–deified rulers who, through fear, laws of revenge, and deceit, attempted to establish absolute power over their subjects*3*. That is how godliness became the equivalent of fear: fear [[especially embodied into, for instance, such institution of terror as the papal Inquisition]] was asserted as the main cause of prevention of violations of the law of God. Then, because of lawlessness, ignorance of the Law, and corruption of men {as it is written in the Holy Scriptures, e.g., in: Isaiah 29:13–16; Jeremiah 8:8–10; Matthew 15:3–9; Mark 7:6–13;  Romans 1:16–32; 2 Peter 2; 2 Thessalonians 2:3–12; Titus 1:10–16}, fear was made

a/ the foundation for institution and enforcement the laws of those who assumed the place of God in His temple, presented own doctrines, ordinances, and policies, which reflect their last for earthly power, purposes, pride, and interests, as the law of God, and ultimately, substituted own laws for the law of God

b/ the weapon, with which the godless establishments and their leaders usurped the place of God in His temple – in the mind of human beings*4*

c/ the means of enslaving the people deprived of true knowledge of God Who is the Perfect Love.

Indeed, the first feeling of the people who were chosen to become the carriers of the law {in: Exodus 20:1–21} was fear, so they stood afar off and asked Moses to speak to them instead of God – let not God speak to them lest they die. Moses answered them: let the fear (ο φοβος) of God be in them, so they do not sin {in: Exodus 20:1–21}. Probably, this episode of human history became the ground for assertion of the necessity of special mediators between God and His creations – man.

However,

–– is fear all that man needs, so he would observe the law and do not sin before God?

–– does the one needs other mediators between God and man besides Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God, Savior and Redeemer?

The Law/Word of God is not hidden behind the sea, it is not in the sky, and it is not in the power of someone to bring it and to make it work for all the others; the Law/Word of God is within the heart of man to fulfill it: the Law of God defines the nature of man. Consequently, only the choice of man {either to observe the Law of God or to violate it –– Deuteronomy 29:10–29; 30:1–20} determines the human destiny – either life in dignity according to the human nature or degeneration and ruin because of perversion of the human nature:

either blessing or curse

↓             ↓

either wisdom*5* or death of reason

↓             ↓

either freedom or slavery*6*

↓             ↓

either prosperity or scarcity and poverty

↓             ↓

either abundance or insufficiency

↓             ↓

either health and strength  or  abnormal mutation and

incurable diseases of mind and body

↓             ↓

either life or death

Thus, fear was just one initial step at the long way of ascent to God; ultimately, fear does not work.

For instance, although Solomon the king in Jerusalem and the preacher asserted that fear of God and the observance of His commandments is everything for man {Ecclesiastes 12:13}, his fear, as well as all his knowledge and wealth, did not protect him from utter failure {Exodus 20:1–6; Deuteronomy 17:14–20; 29; 3 Kings, esp. 3:5–9; 4; 9; 10; 11; 12; 2 Chronicles 1:13–17; 9:13–28}: Solomon began with violations of the ordinances and instructions given through Moses [[including those established for kings – Deuteronomy 17:14–20]], and finished with violations of the first two of The Ten Commandments – with apostasy, which initiated division completed with the total ruin of Solomon’s kingdom*7*.

Another Book of the Old Testament {Job} elaborated the duty of man before God and put the proper emphasis onto the connection between God and His creation: observance of the commandments of God, not fear, was the main meaning of Θεοσεβεια*8* – godliness. Godliness as the piety, devotion, worship, and reverence to God, is a natural human condition, the habitual manifestation of human essence/nature. Godliness was the greatest wisdom of man of the Old Testament, and it opened the path to understanding of Αγαπη of the New Testament – the Absolute Perfect Love*9*, which unified a human being–creation of God with God the Creator revealed and explained by Lord Jesus Christ {John 1:18; 3:16; 10:10–18; 13:34–35; 14:23–26; 15:9–17; 16:26–28; 17; Matthew 22:37–40; 26:26–28; Mark 14:22–24; Luke 22:17–20; 1 John 3; 4:7–21; 5:1–4; 2 John 6}.

If to accept that cognition–reaching–obtaining of the state of knowing–understanding–comprehension is the meaning of life of the mind, the story of Job the Righteous*10* prompts some practical questions; for instance,

–– what is the wisdom, which Job evaluates as the most precious treasure, yet, which he did not find among men?

–– where is the place of knowledge and wisdom, and how this place and the knowledge and the wisdom can be found?

Many centuries after Job the Righteous, another man received from God unsurpassed knowledge {Wisdom}, which supplemented the revelations given through Moses and later was confirmed by revelation of the Word–God – ΛογοςΑγια Σοφια conveyed through the Gospels: wisdom dwells with God. Wisdom is the breath of the power of God, the faithful reflection of His power, the image of His Absolute Good, the omnipotent all–creating, all–penetrating, and all–sustaining Spirit. The place of wisdom is with God; God grants wisdom –– the most precious treasure, which the wise one values more than life –– to those who love Him and seek Him with all heart, soul, and mind. The living soul of man is the breath of God; it was created as the vessel for the breath of God, therefore, it should be the natural carrier of wisdom of God within the world given into the dominion of man. Ultimately, the New Testament revealed the destiny of a human being: to perceive the voice of God Who is calling His very Own ones through His glory and virtue, to accept His love, to be freed of slavery of the evil and sin, to be sanctified with the Truth to become the likeness of the Word–God, to be born of God, to become the temple of the Living God, and to be taught, guided, and led into the eternity by the Holy Spirit {Genesis 2:7; Deuteronomy 6:4–9, 13–17; Wisdom 6:15–20; 7:7–30; Luke 12:49; John 1:1–18; 2:19–22; 3:1–21; 4:23–24; 6:28–69; 7:37–39; 8:12, 31–35; 10:1–30; 11:25–26; 12:44–50; 14; 15; 16:7–16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; 3:4; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 3:13–14; 1 John; Romans 8; 1 Corinthians 2:6–16; 3:16–23; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; 6:14–18; Ephesians; Galatians; Colossians}.

Hence,

the normal human nature was created to carry the Word–Wisdom – ΛογοςΑγια Σοφια – of God

within the world created and loved by God

Wisdom–Word–Spirit of God is the human natural birthright

according to the words of Lord God Jesus Christ, the Word–God is the Blood and Flesh of a human child of God:

[[similar to blood and flesh that make life of the human body]]

In His Name, the Spirit of God comes to dwell in the inner man*4*,

the essence of whom is the spirit born of God

the Wisdom dwells within the one living by the Word–God,

opening for him the abundant world of the spiritual power accompanied with peace, happiness, and freedom ––

the world that only the one with σοφια and επιγνωσεως –– wisdom and complete knowledge*11* of God

might be empowered to perceive, to obtain, and to enter

With acceptance of the Word–God – the Holy Wisdom, the one receives knowledge of everything; he learns that he might obtain immortality*12*, comfort, happiness, and fulfill the destiny of man {Wisdom 8:13–16; John; 1 John}.

Through observance of the words of God followed with cognition of the Absolute Good*13* – the attribute of God revealed to human beings for comprehension and imitation, the one might be set free from fear, because he knows that God is the Perfect Love without fear and suffering, and because he learned to love the others as God loves {Matthew 5:43–48; 11:27–30; Luke 6:35–36 in 6:27–49; John 8:12, 31–35; 13:12–14, 34; 1 John 4:11–21}.

Hence, in the time of the New Testament, the human quest for the knowledge and search for wisdom are completed:

–– if the one desires to find the place of knowledge within the world of man,

he has to cognize and to observe the Law – words and commandments – of God,

and the commandments of God are not heavy: they are the nature of man

then, he might be empowered to discover that his own mind should be the fulfillment of the Law

then, he might be empowered to understand the words of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God and Savior:

the kingdom of God is within you

{Luke 17:20–21; 1 John 5:1–4; Deuteronomy 30:9–20}

–– If the one desires to comprehend the actual value of the events, phenomena, possessions, laws, cultures, ways of life:

to infer/identify their nature

[[that is to understand their purposes, place and significance–consequences

within the considered actuality–reality–system–establishment]]

to evaluate their completed (already irreversible) and potential (that still can be prevented) consequences –

to understand the past and the present, as well as to foresee the future

he needs to judge by the results: what they have brought/will bring to those who accomplished or created them

[[for instance, to determine, do/will their creators live in peace and prosperity,

and if not, what the actual meaning of their existence, therefore, justifiable expectations, would be]]

{Deuteronomy 7:11–15; 28:1–68; 30:8–20}

In summary, the one has to discern*14* the core–essence by comprehension the nature → potency to bring forth either the good or the evil. Then, he would see how the completion–actualization of the nature of the considered events, phenomena, possessions, laws, cultures, ways of life, etc.,  would impact the actuality: what would be the end

either

insufficiencies of all kinds, degeneration and ultimately, death of reason

or

optimization and evolution as the unfolding and actualization of

the highest creative potential granted to the human mind by the Creator

The words of Lord God Jesus Christ {John 8:31–32; 10:1–18, 37–30; 12:26; 14; 15; 16; 17} concerning observance of His commandments, redemption of His Own ones, and consequent coming of the Holy Spirit Who will teach and guide those who believe in Him, and who love Him by keeping His words and fulfilling them, teach the one who seeks knowledge and wisdom that

a/ knowledge [[as well as the power to use it, for instance, to do the works of God]] comes to those who live according to the commandments of God

b/ if the mind rejected the evil, received purification through the words of God, and lives by keeping His words, it comes to dwell in the Word–God as the branch dwells on the vine*15*; then, it is empowered to bring forth its “fruits”: to create the good, to accomplish the purposes of existence

c/ with the knowledge of God given by Lord Jesus Christ Whom He sent, the mind overcomes the limitations of the material world {the power of the ruler of this world – John 14:30; 1 John 2:15–17; 5:1–5}:

it becomes free from fear and other deficiencies of the mind,

which has not yet reached its optimum of completion–readiness for the life by God

it perceives the Perfect Love that opens for him the eternity with God

it becomes the temple–dwelling of God –

the being prepared for the everlasting life in the kingdom of God

{John 14; 17; 1 John; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}

The state of knowing [[state of possession of knowledge]] and the state of having the power to use knowledge for achievement of a purpose are the immaterial features of the mind – the strengths/powers of the human essence, the inner man. These immaterial powers cannot be touched or perceived similarly to the material things, yet they form the inner foundation for self–preservation/survival of man within the world of the structured matter–material things and for his evolution–preparation for the eternity within the kingdom of God the Spirit.

So, wisdom and knowledge are the immaterial conditions, states of existence, or dimensions, which the mind

cannot access with the common means of the world of the matter

[[for instance, such as money]]

might or might not

perceive discover  enter  absorb  create   have   use for own survival and development

This inference immediately prompts some questions; for example,

–– what is the meaning and necessity of education and sciences if the most desired knowledge and to power to embody it into the surrounding actuality –wisdom leading to prosperity and immortality, have no place within the world of the matter, which Job defines with the words “among men”?

For instance, it is not possible to reconcile two kinds of vision:

–– the vision of Moses, Job, and the others who received knowledge from God

and

–– the vision of men who live by the perceivable world of the matter,

and whose perception of the world and reasoning are based on the Aristotelian materialistic logic*16*,

which does not recognize existence of the Absolute Good,

and which consequently, became the foundation for the ethics–free sciences

And I think that if to look at the contemporary world through the eyes of Moses, Job, Ecclesiastes, the author of the Book of Wisdom, Isaiah, and other prophets who received the gift of knowledge of God {e.g., Deuteronomy 29:10–29; 30:1–20; Job 28:23–28; Proverbs; Ecclesiastes 6:7; 12:13–14; Isaiah; Wisdom}, the contemporary life driven by hatred to God and by political correctness might be seen as the confinement of plundered unsatisfied souls walking in perplexity, hungry for true knowledge, yet deprived of vital abilities to perceive the Truth, to comprehend the meaning of existence, and to accomplish the purposes for the sake of which they have been born. In their hunger and destitution, they attempt to feel the emptiness with the figments of imagination – false knowledge, behind which is death.

In some sense, the contemporary life might be envisioned as a continuation of the story of a hungry man – Esau, who sold his birthright for the dish of pottage lentils {Genesis 25:29–34}. For instance, if to judge by the amassed evil, injustice, crimes, and suffering, the many

–– slighted and rejected the birthright to possess the Wisdom that dwells with God and creates the children of God {Deuteronomy 8:5; Wisdom; John 1:1–13; 5:37–47; 8:34–55; 14:15–17}

–– substituted the dissipating matter and needs of the mortal flesh for the life–creating Spirit of God

–– rejected the reality of the Eternity for the sake of the dreaming worlds designed by the perverted imagination, which is based on ignorance, emptiness, and deceit

–– forfeited life of the immortal mind–soul, which lives by God, and accepted temporal existence of the dissipating matter as the only life/destiny of a human being.

If so, in the time of hardship and insufficiency, where the hungry soul would find daily bread and the means to sustain own sanity and to accomplish own destiny, if even the place of knowledge is not known and the very knowledge has been rejected?

*4* During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, the soul–heart–mind, carries the image and likeness of God, lives by the Word–God and the Holy Spirit [[by the Unity of Law–Power–Energy of God]] as a human body lives by bread and water. God ignites His Light within the inner man and God watches over him more than a father watches over a child {Deuteronomy 4; 8:5–12; 1 Kings 16:7; Psalm 15(16):5–11; 17(18); 26(27):10–11; 31(32):7–8; 32(33):12–22; 33(34); 102(103); 120(121); 138(139); Malachi 3:17; Matthew 10:29–30; Luke 11:9–13; John 3:16; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 3:3–4; 2 Peter; 1 John; Romans 8:14–39; Galatians 3:26–29; Ephesians; Colossians}.

St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

See Notes *8*, *69*, *70*, *202*, *58* to Archive_Selections_2015 file for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_3.

Concerning complexity, it should be noticed that, in general sense, complexity is the universality of knowledge, which sustains the entirety of processes defining life of the world, when life is seen as the totality of cycles of transformations of the divine/universal energy of creation.  For instance, one of such cycles includes development of the mighty tree from the smallest seed {Matthew 13:31–32}.

The ancient philosophers came to the conclusion that the world of living beings should be described in the terms of time–space–complexity–bound singularity: positions within dimensions of time and space and possession of the knowledge of life stipulate the Past, Present, and Future of any purposeful system.

In a context of evolving systems, complexity might be envisioned as the unity of three co–related and mutually enhancing phenomena, which (the unity) sustains the abilities to will and to accomplish a particular purpose:

a/ the possession of knowledge

b/ the abilities to perceive–absorb/learn–create new knowledge

c/ the power to apply knowledge – to embody it into the structures of the matter needed for achievement of some purposes within the world composed of the structures of the matter.

Concerning complexity and other systems terms and definitions, see Introduction to Systems Logic – file for download @ my website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], page Library_1

*5* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God.

In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, St. Paul the Apostle writes of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind of those who just/exactly follow the reasoning of Christ {δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν  – 1 Corinthians 2:15–16}.

Hence, wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

Wisdom might be also defined as comprehension of the Law of God and the subsequent ability/state of being empowered to observe the Law: to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law of God into the daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

*8* Θεο–σεβεια is a derivative of

Θεος – God → Θεο– –  everything related to God

and

σεβω  – verb with primary meaning to be conscientious, have feeling of shame, to revere, to render glory, to honor, to regard with respect and admiration, to worship, to be pious.

Thus, Θεοσεβεια means, mainly, admiration, veneration of God, piety, devotion, faithfulness, and worship of God, especially, because the one is conscientious [[has conscience]] and has feeling of shame for own imperfections; interpretation of Θεοσεβεια as fear stems from identification of piety as the state of having anxiety because one’s conscience recognizes his own imperfections before excellence, virtues, righteousness, majesty, and omnipotence of God.

*9* In 1 John 4:16, Ο Θεος αγαπη εστι, και ο μενων εν  τη αγαπη, εν τω Θεω μενει, και ο Θεος εν αυτω –– God is Love, and [the one] remaining in love, remains in God, and God in him [[μενων and  μενει  are derivatives of μενω – to be stanch/determined, to remain, to be steadfast, to be firmly established in]].

In general, love – αγαπη  – might be defined as the unity of

a/ desire of the highest good for the object of love

b/ knowledge: what is this highest good for the object of love and how to provide it

c/ actions intended to provide the object of love with the highest good.

–– the love of God, he speaks of the laws–commandments of God given for the sake of the best good of all God’s creations: for their physical well–being and survival, and spiritual preparation for the everlasting life; e.g.,

a/ do not kill, do not steal, love the others as you love yourself  – that is do not deprive the others of their possessions and well–being

b/ do to the others whatever you want to be done to you

c/ love each other as God loves you – that is imitate God’s love in your dealings with the others {Matthew 5; 7:12; 22:37–40; Luke 6:19–38; John 13:34–35; 15:12, 17}

*11* Complete knowledge –– επιγνωσεως –– is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition: the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to work according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11}.

Επιγνωσεως is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness – that is firstly,

the power to know the Truth

the freedom from the evil and liberation from sin

the power to accomplish the words of Truth making them the essence–fabric of own entire life

*16* According to Aristotle,

–– in the process of investigation, the “Ideal Good” must be discarded, and the objects of intellect must be clarified by the objects of senses: the “Ideal Good” is separate and independent from the “common good,” which is inherent for all things. Things are good when they are “eligible or desirable.” All is measured by availability for practical use: goodness itself is “the sort of disposition.” Actions are a greater good than the attitude and disposition: “activity is a more desirable thing than goodness.” The good of the unchangeable things is not practicable; the Absolute Good that is not practicable should not be sought after. The Absolute Good is good when it is the End [result] “practicable for man”: the good in things must be considered without the reference to the Ideal (Absolute) Good, only significance for men is the measure of the good. Such practicable good “comes under the supreme of all the practical sciences, which is Politics and Economics and Wisdom”: the morality is the subject of social or political science because social life and action are the best amenities, and the society is the best of men [Eudemian Ethics I.viii.19–20; II.i.4, 24; II.xi.11; VIII.i.7;  Magna Moralia I.i.1–3, 10–13, 26]

–– consequently, wisdom is not a scientific knowledge; it is “another kind of cognition.” The assumptions, which cannot be proved with certainty, should not be made: the observed facts must serve as evidence for the rational argument, and the plain objects of senses must illustrate the obscure objects of the intellect [Eudemian Ethics I. vi.1, 6; I.viii.15; VIII.i.7; Magna Moralia I.i.21–26].

All the referred above Aristotle’s assertions disclose that the Aristotelian “logic” has the limited capability suitable to deal only with the perceivable material objects; the so–called Aristotelian philosophy, logic, and ethics belong to the same level of complexity as, for instance, a hammer and axe do.

The core of the Aristotle’s doctrine is materialism or the concept of the deified matter [Aristotle Heavens II.i; On Melissus 975b] that transforms his “practicable knowledge” of the heathen dreamer into the means of destruction for any system, which accepts it as the guidance for actions and arrangement of the life–supporting processes.

“Human chattel” is a G. Cyril Armstrong’s translation of Aristotle’s definition of home slaves – the indispensable and most valuable property in Housecraft. Definition of “human chattel” – slaves – with the recommendations how to deal with it might be found in: Oeconomica I.v. 3, 5, 6; Politics I.2. 1252b, I.4. 1253b, I.5. 1254b; I.6.1255b; I.8. 1256b; I.13.1260a.

Perception of Wisdom

the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give you the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation of Him

{Galatians 1:17}

Christ is the Power of God and the Wisdom of God

{1 Corinthians 1:24}

I prayed and understanding was given to me;

I called upon God, and the Spirit of Wisdom came to me

{Wisdom 7:7}

to the One Most Wise God, through Jesus Christ, glory be forever. Amen.

{Romans 14:26}

The Book of Wisdom*1* defines wisdom*2* as the breath of the power of God, the brightness of the light, the essence of everything – the almighty creative power that sustains and makes everything anew, mightily reaches all to the ends, and governs everything benevolently; as the flow of the absolute Glory of the Almighty; as the image of the Absolute Good*3* of God; as the pure mirror of the energy*4* of God {Wisdom 7:25–27}.

Then, St. Paul the Apostle writes {2 Corinthians 3:3–18} of the ones who have the letter of Christ inscribed by the Spirit of the Living God upon their heart [[the ones who carry Λογος/Αγια Σοφια –– the Word–God/Holy Wisdom – within their heart–mind]], who are serving in spirit to God the Spirit: they are beholding the Glory of God as in a mirror, and they are being changed into the same image by the Lord [God] Who is the Spirit { also see: John 4:3–24; James 1:17–25; 1 John 3:1–3}.

Hence, the definition of Wisdom as the pure mirror of the energy/power of God underlies specific perception of Wisdom by the one who is called to God through His glory, excellence, righteousness and virtue – through the Absolute Good, the Perfect Love revealed by Lord Jesus Christ {John 3:16–21; 2 Peter 1:3–4; 1 John}: Wisdom

 a/ empowers the one to do the works*5* of God as Lord Jesus Christ said, and the first one of them is to believe in the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God

b/ prepares the one for acceptance of the divine energy of eternal life given by the Holy Spirit: to be taught by God, to be loved by God, and to dwell with God

c/ transforms the one into the likeness of the Word–God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια, Who is the Glory and Power and Wisdom of God {John 5:37–47; 6:28–29; 12:36–43; 14:11–12, 15–17, 23–26; 16:13–15; 17:4–5, 24; James 1:18, 21; 1 Corinthians 1:24; Ephesians 2; 5:1–2; Galatians 1:17; Isaiah 6:1–3; Exodus 33:19–22}.

How then, the human mind could ever perceive and comprehend Wisdom?

The words and actions of Lord Jesus Christ {in: John 3:3–21; 4:23–24; 6:32–63; 9:1–7; 10:1–30; 14; 15; 16; 17; Luke 6:19–49; 7:21–22} explain the meaning and the operation of Wisdom at the levels accessible to the mind. These words of the Lord have defined

– perception of the gifts of the Holy Spirit by the Apostles – St. James, St. Peter, St. John, and St. Paul {in: James 1:17–18; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; Romans 8:14–39; 14:17; 1 Corinthians 1:24, 30–31; 2:4–16; 12; Galatians 5:5, 13–25; 6:8; Ephesians; Colossians; and the others}, and by the others, who just follow the reasoning of Christ {1 Corinthians 2:15–16}*6*

– such inference, for instance, as the concept of the divine energies, which was asserted by St. Gregory Palamas*7*.

Firstly, within the realm that accommodates life of the human mind, there is a difference between wisdom and knowledge, although some use these words as synonyms, interchangeably: wisdom and knowledge*8* belong to different levels of complexity.

For instance, if to consider the concepts of man and human reasoning created by the Christian theologians, the one could discern three levels of complexity at which the inner man, human essence – soul–heart–mind*9*, operates. At each level of complexity, the human essence/mind is sustained by a specific derivative of the divine life–creative energy; also, it might be said that the derivatives of the divine life–creative energy compose different levels of complexity, which arrange the world accommodating the harmony and beauty of the wholeness that the mind perceives as life.

The summary of these concepts*10* in the contemporary terms (from 1 to 5):

1. A human being is a function of the divine creative energy of God, the wholeness that exists at three levels or dimensions: the unity of the spirit–soul, the mind–reason–creator of thoughts, and the flesh–body–matter that carries the soul–mind–heart and embodies creations of the mind into the structured matter –material things. The breath–spirit–energy of God creates the spirit–soul–mind of man. The soul of man obtains the eternal life in the presence of God, if it is born of the Spirit of God by the great mercy of God and through the faith in Lord God Jesus Christ {Genesis 2:7; Ecclesiastes 12:7; John 1:12–13; 3:3–7; 6:37–40, 44–69; 10:1–18, 27–30; 17; James 1:18, 21; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 1 John 4:7–17; 5:1–13; Ephesians 2:10}.

2. The essence of man is soul–heart–mind [[further, the mind]], which carries the image and likeness of God. The highest level or “the depths of soul” or the core of “the heart” is intellect – νους, through which the mind may be empowered to know God – Λογος, Αγια Σοφια, and to receive from the Creator the spiritual knowledge – γνωσις, and wisdom – σοφια.  Γνωσις and σοφια both are the gifts of God: the spiritual knowledge is silent contemplation of God Who reveals Himself to His creation, and therefore, the state of possession of the spiritual power.

During the state of receiving the divine energy, the mind obtains wisdom that empowers perception–understanding of knowledge, which would be crowned with complete knowledge of God {επιγνωσεως*11* of which St. Peter the Apostle writes in: 2 Peter 1:2–11}. The divine energy of creation sustains the mind’s life; wisdom empowers the reason and makes possible cognition of God’s creations. Hence, cognition is the state, in which the divine energy of creation is transformed into the human thoughts and knowledge.

The reason – διανοια – is the lower level: the conceptual, logical, reasoning faculty (or the faculty of deliberation –– γνωμα–φρονημα–λογισμος) through which the mind

a/ creates knowledge of the world that accommodates its existence

b/ enables transmission–sharing–communication of created knowledge

c/ perceives, evaluates, and either accepts/absorbs or rejects knowledge created by the others.

The next – lowest – level is the sensory faculty – αισθητηρια οργανα; it works with the information created by the functions of the flesh and received through the senses: the senses supply the mind with information, which is necessary for existence, orientation, evaluation, achievement of the purposes, and survival within the world of the matter.

Thus, the theologians

–– include into the essence of a human being

1/ the soul

2/ the deep cognitive structures; these structures form the body of knowledge, on which a particular mind builds the foundation for own reasoning

3/ the intellect, intelligence, and reason responsible for adequate behavior – words and actions, which should be the Law and purposes of God compliant and based on the true knowledge of the actuality; therefore, ultimately, for physical survival of man and his creations – establishments/systems, for instance, such as society, empire, business enterprise

4/ the other components, consideration of which is beyond this observation

–– assert that the human essence/mind operates at three levels:

intellect – νους

reason/intelligence – διανοια

↓            ↑

the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμα–φρονημα–λογισμος

3. The mind has the special purpose: with the power of thoughts, to arrange fulfillment of the will/law of God – the universal law of perfection. The mind has been designed to create the good: to create new systems, which would facilitate accomplishment of development–evolution, and to perform maintaining functions, for instance, to optimize the existing systems, realities, and establishments.

4. If to follow the general theological–philosophical–epistemological classification, the process of creation of thoughts might be defined as the following chain of the consequent inter–related operations:

The soul/spirit is the energy entity, which absorbs the divine energy of creation and ultimately, transforms it into the core, or seed, or code, or pattern of thought

The created core–code–pattern is examined by another component of the soul – by the conscience, also known as “the voice of God within the heart.” Conscience [[in: 1 Peter 3:16 – συνειδησιν*12* εχοντες αγαθην – having good conscience]] is responsible a/ for the distinction between the good and the evil and b/ the choice of the good. From another angle of consideration, it might be said that conscience identifies the presence/absence of the good–wholeness–life and determines, to which realm the subject of consideration belongs to: either to the realm of life controlled by the law of God or to the zone of death, within which everything inconsistent with the law of God comes through the set of processes completed with annihilation:

degeneration collapse  disintegration annihilation

The conscience defines

a/ the nature of knowledge, which a human being accepts–learns–creates–conveys; the normally functioning conscience prevents creation of the false knowledge

b/ the general attitude toward the others and the world

c/ many other things, which constitute the meaning of life.

In brief and conditionally, the one might assume that some functions of conscience are similar to the functions of a creator, censor and editor. In particular, conscience

identifies the wholeness [[or its absence]] behind the subject of consideration, and its core–nature

evaluates compliance of the subject of consideration [[its core–nature, manifestations–consequences]]

with the law of God, which defines the one’s inner core–values

determines, if it would (or would not) admit a particular thought into the executive part of the mind – the consciousness,

where it becomes ready to be conveyed to the others or to be embodied into establishments and other creations of man

evaluates the one’s own thoughts, words, and actions:

their compliance with his core–values, their impact onto the others, and their consequences for the one and for the others

Thus, the conscience might be seen as the center that identifies presence of life that is compliance with the law of God.

The one who violated the Law of God, destroys or “makes silent” own conscience; consequently, he becomes

a/ unable of discerning*13* the good and the evil

b/ unable of perception–understanding of the complete knowledge*11* and creation of adequate – true – knowledge of the actuality

c/ capable of creation of false knowledge*14*

Silencing or destruction of conscience*15* makes possible further sins–violations of the commandments of God; ultimately, the people become capable of committing even limitless and most inhumane crimes against God, against members of their family and neighbors, and against other living beings: they are transformed into the slaves that gather the harvest of death for their master – the arch–evil

The mind applies the evaluation given by the conscience – or created knowledge of the good and the evil – toward achievement of the purposes at the levels of human establishments/systems.

5. The mind, which has rejected God, loses the access to the spiritual knowledge and wisdom; such a mind exists at the lower levels – the faculty of deliberation, which maintain physical survival.

Gradually, existence of the mind that has lost access to the spiritual knowledge and wisdom becomes irreversibly restricted with the functions, which maintain only physical survival or life of flesh: sensory faculty and the lower levels of the reasoning, including compensatory functions, for instance, such as imagination*16*.

The mind, which is deprived of the access to the life–creating divine energy, feeds itself with self–produced knowledge assembled from the images created with the information received through the sensory faculty – the images of the material world and phantasms: that is some kind of spiritual self–eating, the essence of which might be understood as similar to eating own flesh, and spiritual cannibalism (when the mind consumes figments of imagination created by the others, for instance, becomes the worshiper of a particular idol).

The process of transformation of the mind sustained by the divine energy–knowledge of immortal perfect God into the mind sustained by the knowledge of mortal dissipating flesh is completed, when the knowledge of destruction–death takes the place of the knowledge of the actuality–life. The ancient theologians referred to this process as to spiritual death, or transformation into the living dead. The living dead or the human beast lives by the false knowledge and is capable of comprehension of knowledge of the evil only:  knowledge how to corrupt, pervert, destroy, deceive, abuse, torture, murder.

Such beasts become the human weapon of destruction that corrupt and deceive the others, persecute those who remain devoted and loyal to God, and accomplish the task of annihilation: the ones destined to become the food of death because of their violations of the law of God, and the ones destined to complete existence as the martyrs for faith in God {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 28:15–53; Revelation 6:8–11; 7:14–17; 20:4–6; 22:11–15}.

The first symptom of the spiritual death is fruitlessness of endeavors, research, and labors intended to accomplish purposes of survival and evolution: the mind of the living dead is unable to create the adequate knowledge, because it does not have wisdom – the energy/power that only God gives. Consequently, the mind of the living dead has no source for three sets of abilities, without which survival and evolution are inaccessible:

abilities to perceive–understand–comprehend the nature of creations of God

abilities to identify–infer–comprehend the laws controlling the world of the matter,

which determine and control the manner and outcome of life and the time of death/destruction of

beings/establishments/systems within the world of the matter

abilities to apply the knowledge of these laws for optimal functioning, survival,

and development of human establishments/systems

The daily reality of societies and other establishments, in which the spiritual death became the manner of existence, might be described as the incessant violations of the law of God and their consequences: suffering → degeneration → collapse → disintegration → death. Each violation of the law of God initiates the set of processes, which are completed with collapse and destruction. However, violations of the law of God become the daily routine of the establishments and institutions, especially those which are responsible for maintenance of normal life and survival: lawlessness is spread by education, entertainment, social, political, religious, and other norm, practices, customs, habits. For instance, many movies and games have lawlessness, cruelty, violence, and perversion as the main contents: under the cover of entertainment, they disseminate the patterns of corruption and instruct children and adults how to commit crimes, acts of terror, and sins.

On the other hand, the pattern of collapse – total ruin, διαφθορον*17*, inseparable from violation of the law of God – is inevitably initiated within the establishments, in which violations of the law of God – firstly, all of The Ten Commandments that define the normal human nature – became the institutionalized practice of social, political, and religious institutions. The process of disintegration of such establishments provides the additional illustrations of specifics–details of the general pattern of the total ruin.

The main contents of knowledge, by which the establishments/systems sustain the cohesive power*18* in delusion that they are maintaining their wholeness–life, became the knowledge of the evil: the knowledge of perversion, corruption, degeneration, destruction, and death. The prophets likened knowledge of the evil*19* to the lethal poison and incurable rage of asps. If the mind accepts, embodies into own life and own creations, and propagates the knowledge of the evil as truth, this knowledge ultimately, debilitates the mind making it “blind and deaf” –– turned away from understanding {in: Isaiah 6:10; 59:1–15}, and transforms it into the weapon of destruction. Currently, such condition of the mind might be easily detected in the actions of politicians and leaders of the social, political, religious, and other establishments, if to judge by the overall state of the world affairs and incessant crises, conflicts, and wars, which have transformed life of the many into misery, suffering, and slow agonizing death of the mind and body.

It seems that the process of self–deprivation of wisdom has three main steps–phases: a shift of the focus*20* of reasoning, loss of adequacy of consideration, and transformation [[degeneration]] of the mind, which ultimately, becomes capable of destruction only.

Conclusion

The one could infer that

A. Wisdom corresponds to the level of intellect – νους, where the divine energy creates a human child of God

Creation of knowledge is accomplished at the level of reason/intelligence – διανοια

The working functions – search for knowledge, collection of data, classifying, and other preparatory functions

for creation of knowledge are accomplished with the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμα–φρονημα–λογισμος

B. Wisdom is the synergy of

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

1/ the power to perceive identify understand the wholeness of the human universe:

the heavens – kingdom of God the earth that accommodates existence of human being  human being who, at the earth,

has to accomplish the will of God revealed as the law of God, and therefore, is empowered to carry the kingdom of God within ––

2/ the power to apply understanding of the wholeness of the human universe for

of human beings and of human establishments

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

3/ the power to create wholenesses–systems/establishments for achievement of the purposes,

through which a human being accomplishes the will of God

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

C. Possession of wisdom is necessary for preparation–evolvement for the next phase of existence of a human being –

the eternity with God; therefore, the one could infer that wisdom is the highest level of complexity,

at which the mind might be empowered to operate.

D. Knowledge describes the essence of life of the mind:

the main operations of the mind are search for knowledge, perceiving–absorption–creation–dissemination of knowledge

that would empower the mind to survive, to accomplish the purposes, and to evolve for the next phase of existence.

Thus, knowledge might be seen as the power to think, to speak, to act adequately to the actuality:

adequate knowledge – the knowledge of truth – is the power to comprehend the actuality of the world,

within which a human being has to obtain wisdom, accomplish purposes, and to evolve for the next phase of existence.

However, only if the mind comprehends the law that controls the nature (the human nature, the nature of the world that accommodates human existence, and the nature of events and things that might be a subject of interest), the mind obtains the actual power to act and to achieve its purposes.

From the practical point of view, it means that only if knowledge is true (adequate to the actuality), it gives the actual power to act purposefully, efficiently, and successfully. False knowledge (inadequate to the actuality) leads to inadequate perception–understanding of the actuality, wrong decisions, waste of resources, and other mistakes and failures, which, eventually, are completed with collapse and destruction of the very establishments that the authors and users of the false knowledge intend to maintain, improve, protect, develop.

Therefore, as soon as false knowledge*14* might become the actuality of the mind, the one might infer that false knowledge, or knowledge of the evil, is the property of the lower – basic and temporal – levels of complexity on which the mind operates [[lower, because the evil exists only at the lower levels at which the mind is allowed to comprehend the knowledge of the evil and choose the evil. Consequently, at these levels, disintegration of the wholeness (death) can be initiated, and they will exist as the part of arrangement of the world only until the path of human cognition is completed]].

From these lower levels, the mind

either

ascends to wisdom – the highest level of complexity

or

descends to inability of adequate perception of the actuality

[[that is life by phantasms and figments of imagination]]

the lowest level of complexity, at which the mind degenerates into the perverted being

deprived of the normal faculty of deliberation and sound reasoning

Comprehension of wisdom begins through obtaining επιγνωσεως*11* – the complete knowledge of God bestowed by Wisdom Who is the loving Spirit, the Holy Spirit of education–enlightenment creating all things, the Glory and the Power of God {Wisdom 1:4–7; 7:15–16, 22–26; 9:1–4, 9–11; John 1:1–5; 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 Corinthians 1:24}.

St. Peter the Apostle writes {2 Peter 1:2–11} that the complete knowledge of God and of Lord Jesus Chris [[επιγνωσεως]] is given by the Divine Power of God as of the source of all needed and given to man. With the complete knowledge of God, the one, who has confirmed his devotion and love to God, obtains peace, and receives everything needed for life and preparation for the kingdom of God.

The one could re–construct the path suggested by the Apostle: the path to the achievement of the main purpose of everyone who born for the eternity with God

acknowledgement of the virtues, excellence, and glory – the Absolute Good of God

acceptance of the Absolute Good of God as the Absolute Good*3* of the one,

as the treasure that the one holds as the highest standard of perfection and that must be understood comprehendedimitated

participation in –– becoming a part of ––  the divine nature

that is possible only if the one, in his world, has escaped  εν επιθυμια φθορας

[[that is desire of the evil, passion for destruction, intentions to accomplish deeds resulting in death and suffering of the others]]

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

possession of wisdom that opens the eternity with God

All the referred above factors needed for obtaining eternity in the kingdom of God are the features of the inner man: the mind*9*. All of them are the fruits of the mind that labors for the sake of observance of the main law – the law of love given by the Divine Love to comprehend, to observe, to actualize as the very own daily life. For their development and use, the one does not need wealth, special places within the human hierarchies, possession of extraordinary physical powers, and other material things. For the beginning, the one needs:

a/ desire to find God

b/ faith in God

c/ love to God

If he has learned these first letters of the alphabet of wisdom, he has found his way into the eternity with God.

Although different circumstances of life define details of the one’s way to God, there are some similarities – the starting points, with which many seekers of God begin.

Probably, the starting points could be understanding and acceptance of truth {in: Wisdom 1; 2; 4} that

a/ God created man to be immortal and made him an image of His Own eternity. God created everything to live: to evolve, to fill the world, to evolve to the optimum – the maximal potency of creation of the good. God did not create death, and there is no kingdom of death upon the earth

b/ righteousness is immortal, while the ungodly men carry death within them: with their words and works they called it; they thought to have it as a friend and made the covenant with it; so they were consumed and became the part of it, because they are worthy of it. They strive for death in delusion of life arranged with deceit, blasphemy, unrighteousness, thoughts without understanding and salvation {e.g., in Isaiah 59:1–15 – they turned their mind from understanding (59:15}, foul words, and wicked deeds; they put their strengths as the law and esteem the feeble ones as worthy of nothing

c/ wisdom does not enter the licentious–corrupted soul/mind nor does it inhabit the body perverted by sin

d/ those who despise wisdom are miserable: their expectations are as dust blown away by the wind, their labors are unfruitful, their works unprofitable, their women/wives are senseless [[αφρονες – senseless; irrational; vain; foolish; without feelings; without perception; without reason]], and their children are wicked and cursed

e/ horrible is the end of unrighteous generation.

In summary, the one might perceive wisdom as the life–maintaining power that sustains immortality, makes all endeavors successful and labors fruitful, and bestows onto the wise ones all the good promised by God to those who are His very Own people [[the wise one is the one who understands the law of God, therefore, knows own nature and the nature of the world in which he lives, observes the law*22* embodying it into the actuality, and lives by the Word–God]].

The description of misery of the ungodly and wicked ones [[the ungodly and wicked one has the lawlessness as the law and with his thoughts, words, and deeds violates the law of God]] re–iterates the inference that possession of wisdom is possession of the power that sustains survival, evolution, and accomplishment of the vital purposes: without wisdom, there is neither life nor completion.

Thus, as St. Paul the Apostle writes {Romans 14:26},

*1* The Book of Wisdom – apocryphal book of the Septuagint – is not included in official versions of the Bible. Probably, the reasoning behind is that many texts have parallels and similarities to those included in The Old Testament and The New Testament. The texts with analogous meanings made some “Fathers of the Church,” who assumed the authority to choose sources of knowledge for their flock, to decide that the Book of Wisdom has secondary origin, as compilation of the texts already written in other Books of the Holy Scriptures.

However, the Book of Wisdom carries the same convincing authority that other – “official” – books of the Holy Scriptures have; besides, in the time when it was written, the Gospels were not revealed yet; so the assumption of compilation does not work. Moreover, if the one compares the descriptions of the actualities of the wise and the lawless ones, he would conclude that these descriptions reflect the contemporary actualities of the Present; the precision of definitions is striking.

In ancient Greek, the Book has name Σοφια Σαλωμων – Wisdom of Solomon, and some ancient theologians and authors ascribed the authorship to Solomon the king in Jerusalem. However,

1/ the Book of Wisdom conveys the knowledge, which could not be available for the mind that carried the seed of apostasy: the mind of king who began his reign with violations of the ordinances and rules set by Moses for kings as well as for all his tribesmen [[concerning Solomon’s apostasy and its consequences, see The World and the War. II. Apostasy – offered for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], page Library_2]]

2/ the original language of the Book of Wisdom is almost the same as language of the Septuagint: the Alexandrian dialect with the roots in Minoan–Ionian language, on which the works of Homer were written down, in VIII century B.C., approximately.

 The Alexandrian dialect evolved in IV century BC, as the result of Alexander of Macedonia conquests with inclusion of many nations of Asia Minor and Asia into his empire, the assumed capital of which was Alexandria – the city in Egypt, which was founded and named in name of the conqueror, and which became the center of cultural and political life of a new empire. Solomon’s death (and consequent division of his kingdom) is attributed to 930s – X century B.C.

Some authors have opinion [[formed because of the implied references to historical events]] that the author of the Book of Wisdom lived in III century B.C.

*2* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into a child of God.

Wisdom has the greatest significance for the one’s life and well–being, because it defines the main factors controlling human existence and leads to accomplishment of the main purpose – obtaining life everlasting in the presence of God: it comes from God, and it leads to God

*4* In Wisdom 7:26: και εσοπτρον ακηλιδωτον της του Θεου ενεργειας. The word ενεργειας conveys meanings of energy, power in action, actualized reality, might, action, activity; thus the literal translation would be “and mirror pure/unspotted/undefiled of the energy of God.”

*5* See The Works of God – file is offered for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_3

*6* In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, St. Paul the Apostle writes of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind of those who just/exactly follow the reasoning of Christ {δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν1 Corinthians 2:15–16}. Traditional translation [in English versions of the Holy Bible] of 1 Corinthians 2:16 ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν (where νουν is a derivative of νοος – intelligence, reasoning, mind, and εχομεν – interpreted as “have,”) is “we have/possess the mind of Christ.”

However, Christ is the Word–God; humans are not capable of having the mind of God. Besides, to ascribe to a human being attributes of God is blasphemy.  Obviously, the translation is inadequate. Indeed, the word εχομεν should not be interpreted as a derivative of εχω from primary word σχεω  – to hold; εχομεν is a shortened form of εχομενως, which conveys meanings of contiguity, following something, close connection, proximity.

Thus, the strict meaning of ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν is “we just/exactly the reasoning of Christ follow.”

*7* For instance, St. Gregory Palamas writes that the divine energy “bestows substance” and life: God dwells in His creations “in different and varied ways” interrelated with their “worthiness and way of life” [St. Gregory Palamas (1983) §28 83; (1988) §87, §91, §93, §95 187, 189–193, 195–197].

*9* During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, the soul–heart–mind, carries the image and likeness of God, lives by the Word–God and the Holy Spirit [[by the Unity of Law–Power–Energy of God]] as a human body lives by bread and water. God ignites His Light within the inner man, and God watches over him more than a father watches over a child {Deuteronomy 4; 8:5–12; 1 Kings 16:7; Psalm 15(16):5–11; 17(18); 26(27):10–11; 31(32):7–8; 32(33):12–22; 33(34); 102(103); 120(121); 138(139); Malachi 3:17; Matthew 10:29–30; Luke 11:9–13; John 3:16; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2; 3:3–4; 2 Peter; 1 John; Romans 8:14–39; Galatians 3:26–29; Ephesians; Colossians}.

St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι – 1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

When the theological subtleties are not a subject of consideration, I use a brief contemporary and all–including (because a human being is the wholeness) definition – the mind.

*10* Four Greek and Byzantine theologians developed the Christian concept of man in relation to God – St. Maximus the Confessor, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Basil the Great, and St. Gregory Palamas [St. Gregory Palamas (1974) 121–122; St. Maximus the Confessor, St. Gregory of Nyssa, and St. Basil the Great, ref. in: St. Gregory Palamas (1974) 122]:

1/ when the Word of God lives and acts within man, the man is unified with the grace of Lord God Jesus Christ; this incomprehensible grace illuminates the human nature and elevates it above the natural laws: man becomes uncreated as the grace of God is uncreated

2/ everything that is moved by the Holy Spirit becomes alive, eternal, and sacred: through Lord God Jesus Christ, man (who before was dust, the human clay) receives the anointment of the Holy Spirit to become “the child of light” destined for the eternity

3/ when the Holy Spirit dwells in man, the man oversteps the limits of his temporal worldly existence: from the mortal he becomes immortal, from the temporal becomes eternal; he receives the dignity of prophet and apostle and, through Lord God Jesus Christ, he becomes a child of God endowed with the potency to create.

St. Gregory Palamas (1296–1359) considers the act of creation as the only moment when a human being discovers the image of God within own soul/mind, and actualizes own essence (through the act of creation).

Therefore, the essence of a human being unfolds as the dwelling and the rest of God within the created by God Universe; a human being lives to accomplish the following purposes:

–– to receive the Spirit of God during the earthly existence

–– to abide in love and light

–– to fulfill the will of God at the Earth

–– to dwell with God throughout the eternity.

Other theologians, philosophers, and researchers invented additional definitions for the mind–intellect–heart–soul–spirit, mostly, as for the different facets of a human being; for instance,

–– the heart is the spiritual center of man – the temple, in which the Divine is united with the human

–– the intellect is the “eye of heart” or the faculty of contemplation by which man perceives God and learns the knowledge given by God

–– the intelligence is the operating faculty of the intellect

–– the reason or mind is the center responsible for logic, conceptualization, and discourse – all the functions, which manifest the main human ability – reasoning that defines purposeful behavior within the world of the temporary structured matter, and so on [e.g., St. Diadochos of Photiki On Spiritual Knowledge §§9, 79, 88, and Glossary 362–365, and the others in: Philokalia, v.1–4].

The fruitful imagination of the generations of theologians and use of different terms for definitions of the same phenomena, sometimes, initiated theological disputes {as St. Paul the Apostle warned, for instance, in: 1 Timothy 6:20–21; 2 Timothy 2:16–17}, and therefore, brought forth discord and facilitated rising of heresies.

In general, if the one has understanding of the words of Lord Jesus Christ {in: John; Matthew, esp. 5; 6; 7; Mark; Luke, esp. 6; 12} and perceives God as the Perfect Love without fear and suffering, all human inventions–doctrines and verbal embellishments–classifications–definitions–etc., are not needed.

*11* Complete knowledge –– επιγνωσεως –– is the state of complete–abundant–carrying consequences cognition: the state of having been empowered to think, to speak, and to act according to the will of God that is with the knowledge of the Absolute Truth Who is the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ the Redeemer and the Savior {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11}.

Επιγνωσεως is manifestation of the Divine Power bestowing upon the one all of life and godliness – that is, firstly,

the power to know the Truth

the freedom from the evil and liberation from sin

the power to accomplish the words of the Word–God, Who is the Truth,

making them the essence–fabric of the entirety of own life

*12* The Greek word συνειδησιν is a derivative of συν– a particle with the main meanings of synergy of actions and completeness, and  ειδ–ω  – the verb with the root ––ειδ––, which generates the cluster of words identifying difference facets of cognition; this particular derivative defines process of

becoming aware recognizing  acknowledging  understanding  evaluating the summary–essence: wholeness

*14* Creation/acceptance of the false or inadequate knowledge indicates degeneration of the mind. Only the perverted reasoning, which has rejected or forgot own Creator, becomes able to accept the false as the truth and then, to create false knowledge for the others. The examples of false knowledge include the heathenism, acceptance of which indicates the stage of irreversible destruction of human establishments [[e.g., civilization, empire, state, society]] and Aristotelian logic of simplification, upon which the contemporary ethics–free materialistic sciences operate.

*15* In the Western civilization, the most illustrative techniques of silencing conscience → transforming the one into the unreserved slave of the deified leader include the training of the papal Inquisitors, training invented by Ignatius of Loyola the founder of Jesuit order – his “Spiritual Exercises,” and brain–washing techniques developed by Nazi secret police upon the Jesuit practices. They, as well as their Middle East and Asian counterparts, are the derivatives of the cults developed by the worshipers of Dionysus – the ancient heathen deity of insanity and death and practiced by the different orders of assassins.

*17* Greek compound word διαφθορον, which usually is interpreted as corruption, perversion, or complete moral collapse/ruin, also denotes the totality of physical, moral, and religious ruin {as in: Psalm 106(107):20}.

Primarily, apostasy – as violation of the first two of The Ten Commandments, as rejection of faith in God and intentional disregard and violations of the Law of God, initiates processes of collapse according to the διαφθορον pattern.

The διαφθορον pattern describes also the utter collapse–ruin of any system, in which alien knowledge takes the place of the original meanings of truth that initially, in the time of the system’s creation/construction, was embodied into

religious, social, political, moral, and other laws, norms, and values

religious, social, political, educational, and other establishments

created to maintain and to protect the system

behavior, interrelations, and other aspects of the daily life of the people

whose existence, prosperity, development, and survival the system is intended to sustain and to secure.

The διαφθορον pattern can be always discerned within the chaotic totality of the events identified as revolution, war, defeat, impoverishment, assimilation by enemies {e.g., as it is in: Deuteronomy 28:47–48}, and overall processes of disintegration of empires, states, and other establishments/systems.

In the New Testament, such self–ruined people of incurable devastation are referred to as to

a/ the ones who already have been judged {ηδη κεκριται – John 3:18–20}, because they love darkness more than the Light, their works were evil, and they go into the darkness so their works may not be exposed

b/ the ones who are not of God, who are children of the arch–evil {in: John 8:42–47; 1 John 3:4, 8–10, 15}

c/ false prophets and false teachers, clouds driven by tempest, for whom the eternal darkness is kept {2 Peter 2:1–22}.

Concerning διαφθορον and total ruin described by the  διαφθορον pattern, see

*18* The cohesive power is the main system–maintaining force:

– it realizes, directs, and maintains circulation of the intra–system energy–information flow and the information exchange with the environment

– it unifies all system’s components into the purposeful wholeness

– it regulates creation of new knowledge and circulation of accumulated knowledge.

The cohesive power is manifested through the flow of data–information–knowledge, which circulates within the system and supplies the system’s components with data–information–knowledge that sustain and control their existence.

Concerning cohesive power, see Introduction to the Systems Logic – file for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_1

*19* The Old Testament prophets envisioned the knowledge of the evil, especially the knowledge of idol–worshipers as the lethal poison that debilitates and annihilates the reasoning/life of the mind that serves the evil {e.g., Isaiah 59:1–15}.

According to the prophets, when the mind discards the law of God, rejects God, and creates for itself other gods/idols before the face of God, it becomes as the waterless land, ashes and dust, because it loses the abilities of discerning the good and the evil: it transforms itself into the likeness to the idols, which it has created {Psalm 134(135):15–18; Isaiah 44:20}. Thus, it transforms itself into the carrier of death – own and of the others, into the offspring of vipers that has no good within: it consumes and carries and propagates the lethal poison of the ancient arch–serpent, the incurable rage of asps {θυμος δρακοντων ο οινος αυτων, και θυμος ασπιδων ανιατος – Deuteronomy 32:33; Isaiah 59:1–15; also in: Matthew 12:34–35; 15:12–14; 23:1–35; John 8:43–45; Romans 3:13}, and it, as well as its fruits–creations–deeds, becomes embodiment of death – abomination to God.

*21* In 1 John 4:16: Ο Θεος αγαπη εστι, και ο μενων εν  τη αγαπη, εν τω Θεω μενει, και ο Θεος εν αυτω –– God is Love, and [the one] remaining in love, remains in God, and God in him.

Love – αγαπη  – might be defined as the unity of

a/ desire of the highest good for the object of love

b/ knowledge: what is this highest good for the object of love and how to provide it

c/ actions intended to provide the object of love with the highest good.

–– the love of God, he speaks of the laws–commandments of God given for the sake of the best good of all God’s creations: for their physical well–being and survival, and spiritual preparation for the everlasting life; e.g.,

a/ do not kill, do not steal, love the others as you love yourself  – that is do not deprive the others of their possessions and well–being

b/ do to the others whatever you want to be done to you

c/ love each other as God loves you – that is imitate God’s love in your dealings with the others {Matthew 5; 7:12; 22:37–40; Luke 6:19–38; John 13:34–35; 15:12, 17; 17}
