Lazarus of Bethany and Judas Iscariot

Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep,

but I am going that I may awaken him

{John 11:11}

I am the Resurrection and the Life;

the one believing in Me, though he dies, he shall live

{John 11:25}

And the glory of the Lord shall appear,

and all flesh shall see salvation of God, for the Lord has spoken.…

{Isaiah 40:5}

This year, Christians celebrated Saturday of Lazarus on the fourth of April. Lazarus’ Saturday is the day when the Christians commemorate the special event: resurrection of Lazarus of Bethany {John 11:1–44}; next Sunday, on the twelfth of April, will be Αγιον Πασχα – the Holy Pascha, Orthodox Easter – the Feast of Feasts: celebration of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ the Son of man – the Incarnated Word–God.

The story of Lazarus unfolds in the last days of the Lord in this world {John 11; 12}.

Lazarus of Bethany, the friend of Lord Jesus Christ, died, was buried, and after four days in the tomb, came back to life, because Lord Jesus Christ called him out of the realm of death. Lazarus’ resurrection marks the time of fulfillment of the ancient prophesy that “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” and the dead ones shall hear the Son of God and come to life {Luke 3:6; John 5:21–28; 11:38–44; Isaiah 40:3–5}. Lazarus was the chosen one: through him, the absolute power and glory of the Word–God were manifested to the people.

In Bethany, small village not far from Jerusalem, Lazarus and his two sisters dwelt. Lord God Jesus Christ loved Lazarus and his sisters: He visited Lazarus’ house and called Lazarus a friend. Then, Lazarus became sick and his sisters sent to the Lord saying: the one who You love is sick.  Yet, the Lord said: this sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God – the Son of God will be glorified by it. Two days passed, and the Lord told His disciples: Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, and I am going that I may awaken him. The Lord’s disciples did not understand His words, so, He explained: Lazarus died; He is going to wake the dead one up, and He rejoices, because resurrection of Lazarus is a chance for His followers to become the believers {John 11:1–44; 12:1–2} and therefore, to enter the everlasting life {John 14; 17}.

Coming to the village, they have found that Lazarus died and was buried in the cave according to the Jewish tradition; it was the fourth day after the burial: four days Lazarus’ body was in the tomb. Martha, Lazarus’ sister, said to the Lord that, if He had been here, her brother would not be dead. The Lord answered to her that her brother would rise. Yes, Martha knew that Lazarus would rise – in the Last Day. God answered Martha’s grief and despair: “I am the Resurrection and the Life; the one believing into Me, though he dies, he shall live. And everyone living and believing into Me he shall not die forever.” Then, Lord God Jesus Christ came to the Lazarus’ tomb and called the dead man out: Λαζαρε, δευρο εξω – Lazarus, here, outside {John 11:43}. In response to God’s call, Lazarus came out of the tomb, back into this world {John 11:1–44}.

Resurrection of Lazarus revealed the glory and omnipotent power over life and death that only God holds; it gave the disciples of Lord Jesus Christ the evidence intended to sustain their faith and to encourage them during the coming trial of the Son of man; also, the omnipotence and mercy of God were manifested to the people so they could foresee their own destiny to be resurrected to the eternal life by the Word–God {John 11:25–44; 12:9–11; 17}.

There is another aspect of Lazarus’ story. When the Lord refers to the Lazarus’ condition, which men named death, God does not use the word death: He speaks of falling asleep {John 11:11–14}. God refers to the physical death as to the slumber: for Him, there is no death, because our God is the God of the living {Luke 20:27–38; Matthew 22:31–32}, and death of the flesh is not the end of existence.

So, in the eyes of God, the physical death of a human being does not discontinue human existence: a human being falls asleep in the earth to be woken up  (resurrected) in the house/kingdom of God, where he – purified and healed by the Word–God – shall not have sorrow, grief, insufficiency of any kind {John 5:21, 24–29, 39–40; 9:5, 39; 10:9–18, 27–30; 12:44–50; 14; 17; Revelation 21:1–5; 22:1–5}.

Thus, human beings come into this world, in the garments of flesh {Genesis 3:21–25; 4:1}, to do some works*1*:

–– within the world set for actualization of the man’s choice to know the good and the evil, they have to find the light and the road, which would lead them to God

–– they have to learn to live by faith

–– they have to learn to love God and to love the others

–– they have to learn to follow the commandments and to accomplish the will of God the Creator and Father

–– they have to learn to imitate perfection and mercy and love of God.

Then, after completion of their works at the earth, within the temporal realm of the structured matter, they have to pass through the threshold separating the phases of life. At this threshold, they leave the temporal clothing–body and all earthly possessions, yet, the essence–soul–heart–mind–spirit created in the image and after likeness of perfect immortal and omnipotent God continues the eternal journey {Genesis 1:2, 26–27; 2:7; Psalms 8; 65(66); 75(76); 118(119); 143(144); 145(146); 147; 148; 150; and others; Matthew 5:17–18, 48; John 3:3–21; 4:24; 14; 16:26–28; 17; James 1:17–18; 1 Peter 1; 1 John; 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16; 6:19–20; 15:22; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:4–10, 13–22; 4:22–24; Colossians 1:9–23}. To accomplish the purposes for the sake of which they came into being, they have

to hear the voice of God

to comprehend–absorb the knowledge*2* of God

to realize that life is the breath of the living God and life is only in God and with God

to comprehend death as the absence of knowledge of God.

For instance, when the Lord sent His disciples to preach saying that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, He instructed them to raise the dead {Mathew 10:1, 7–8}. It means also that the human mind is dead without knowledge of God: the knowledge of God wakes up those who still live as physical beings, yet whose minds have fallen asleep without God. Furthermore, if the knowledge of God differentiates the living from the dead, there is no difference between the dreaming mind, which is imprisoned within the imaginary world*3* of false and evil, and the dead mind incapable of actualizing own creative potential.

The resurrection was not the end of the story of Lazarus; through him, the ultimate evil of those who rejected God had to be revealed.

Resurrection of Lazarus triggered the decision of the chief–priests and the Pharisees to assassinate Lord Jesus Christ along with Lazarus whom He resurrected: because of Lazarus, many people left them and believed in Lord Jesus Christ. The decision to assassinate both – the Creator and His creation – exposes degeneration and corruption of those who, as the leaders of the chosen people, were expected to teach the law of God and to lead the chosen people to God, yet, who

became the hypocrites that spoiled the Vineyard*4* of the Lord

transformed themselves into the idol–worshipers through acceptance of the “teachings of men” –

philosophy and doctrines of the idol–worshipers, starting with the Orphism*5*,

the cult of the arch–evil in image of arch–serpent the dragon

[[that is why in the Gospel {Matthew 3:7; 23:29–33}, they are referred to as serpents and as the offspring of vipers]]

lost the ability of right judgment

substituted rules of men for the law of God

sought to kill the righteous Man – Lord Jesus Christ – Who taught the Law/will of God,

and Lazarus, whom He resurrected and who became the living evidence of the miracle created by Lord Jesus Christ,

so, as they assume, after assassination of Lazarus the people would not have proof that the Lord’s power is the power of God

likened the people to the “ignorant in the law and cursed,” while themselves have led them to corruption and ruin

rebuffed the glory of God for the sake of the convenience of men and rejected the power of God

for the sake of the power of the mortal ruler completing therefore the process of separation from God –

the separation that was initiated, when the chosen people decided to be as all other nations governed by the mortal rulers*6*

{Matthew 23:1–38; John 7:16–49; 10:23–42; 11:1–57; 12:1–43; 19:4–16; 1 Kings 8:6–8}

Then, the special event took place in Lazarus’ house {John 12:1–8} – event, through which the one could have a glimpse of the inner world of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Lord Jesus Christ into the hands of chief–priests {Luke 6:16; John 6:70–71; 13:2, 21–30}.

Six days before the Passover, Lord Jesus Christ came to Bethany: He with His disciples had supper in the house of Lazarus whom He raised from the dead. Next day, it would be the glorious entry into Jerusalem (commemorated as the Palm Sunday, a week before the Sunday of Resurrection of the Lord) with the cheering crowd of those who blessed Him and named Him the King of Israel. A few days later, the crowd stirred by the chief–priests would demand His crucifixion, and the chiefs–priests would testify that they have no king but Caesar {John 12:1–18; 18:28–40; 19:1–17}.

Seemingly, there was still quiet moment of the last meeting of the Lord with the family of Lazarus that loves and cherishes Him. Lazarus, whom the Lord loved and resurrected from the dead, had supper with Him. Lazarus’ sister – Martha – served. Maria, another sister of Lazarus, took the pure and costly aromatic ointment, anointed the feet of the Lord, and wiped off His feet with her hairs.

Yet, the time runs into the end, and the arch–evil is ready to rise against the Son of man; it began through Judas Iscariot, one of the disciples {John 6:70–71}, who voiced his concerns for the precious oil spent to anoint the feet of Jesus Christ: why this ointment was not sold for the high price, so money could be given to the poor? However, the true concerns are not for the poor: although Judas is a keeper of the box, in which the disciples keep money to buy food and to give alms to the others, Judas is thief {John 6:70–71; 13:29; 17:12}.

This event revealed the Judas’ inner preference of the material things to God, which was concluded with the Judas’ acceptance of the thirty pieces of silver from the chief–priests as the payment for betrayal of the Son of man {in: Matthew 26:14–16, 21–25, 45–50; Mark 14:10–11}: preference for money is completed with the consequent betrayal of God for the sake of money.

Furthermore, Judas speaks out of abundance of his heart {Matthew 12:34–37}: because of his greed and his hatred to the Son of God, he has arrogance to voice the reprimand to the woman who expressed her gratitude, reverence, and love to the Lord Whom the Lazarus’ family recognized as the Son of God and as the Teacher {John 11:21–29}.

Judas’ words reveal that

he does not have love and reverence to the Lord and Teacher,

 which are necessary even if he perceives Him as only the Son of man

he does not have love and reverence to Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Word–God,

Who by the power of God resurrected the dead

he has no complete understanding of the true essence of the events,

which many people had witnessed, – the miracles that could be done only by the power of God

{John 3:1–2; 12:9–11}

he has no faith in God: he is not able to believe in Lord Jesus Christ,

and therefore, his way is into the darkness

{John 3:16–21}

At the next supper mentioned by St. John the Apostle, the arch–evil would take the full possession of the disciple {John 13:2, 21–30; also in: Luke 22:3–6} whose very name became a symbol of betrayal and a definition of the most despicable crime:

rejection of God made him the empty house ready to be taken by the arch–enemy

that was the murderer of man from the beginning

{Matthew 12:43–45; John 8:37–44}

hatred, envy, and greed culminated in betrayal of Lord Jesus Christ, his Teacher and Master,

{Matthew 26:14–16; John 12:1–8; 18:1–5}

betrayal of God led him to his own death (suicide)

{Matthew 27:1–10; Acts 1:15–20}

With the story of Judas Iscariot {Matthew 26:14–25, 47–50; Mark 14:10–11; 43–49; Luke 22:1–6, 47–53; John 6:70–71; 13:2, 21–30; 17:12}, all the components of the deepest and deadliest core of the inferno created by men for themselves are assembled together. This inferno is the ultimate fruit of cognition of the evil:

rejection, betrayal, and crucifixion*7* of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Son of man,

the Teacher and the Savior Who fed and healed the multitudes,

Whose acts reveal the power of God,

and Who tolerated presence and shared His bread with the one who would betray Him

suicide of man who emptied himself from God (therefore, of the very life),

who became the possession of the arch–evil and therefore, the food of death:

the son of perdition incapable of life

{John 17:12; Genesis 3:15}.

The Gospel According to John describes the ultimate expressions of the good and the evil, which are manifested by Lazarus and by Judas Iscariot:

– Lazarus loved God, therefore, followed the good; although he died because of nature of the world set for the cognition of the evil, he was resurrected by God because of God’s decision to reveal His power and glory through resurrection of Lazarus whom He loved and to give His followers the expectation of their own resurrection

– Judas Iscariot loved money; he became the son of perdition – possession of the arch–evil; he betrayed God, and then, he committed suicide – he perished {Matthew 26:14–16, 21–25, 46–49; 27:3–5; Mark 14:10–11, 18–21, 41–46; John 17:12; Acts 1:15–20}.

The story of Lazarus of Bethany who loved God and Judas Iscariot who betrayed God teaches many things; among them,

1/ the main truth is simple and unambiguous: God is life of man

2/ betrayal as a free choice may be possible only if the one does not have faith and love to God

3/ freedom to choose the good, which is given to everyone to accomplish his own way of cognition the good and the evil, is the heavy burden unbearable for those who do not have unconditional faith and love to God and for those who seek the material advantages and glory of this world. Only faith*8* gives the strength and the power to withstand the evil and to conquer the world of the evil {1 John 5:1–5; Ephesians 6:10–18}, even by the price of own death if needed.

Everyone is free to be either as Lazarus who loved God or as Judas Iscariot who betrayed God.

Other disciples of God were free to follow God {e.g., in: John 6:65–71; 11:1–16} and ultimately, they exercised their freedom to be loyal to God until death, even for the price of own well–being and the very life, and to remain with Him forever – they became the Apostles of the Word–God.

Judas is free either to remain loyal to his Teacher or to betray Him; he exercises his freedom and commits the ultimate evil – betrayal of God.

By the act of betrayal, Judas closed for himself the road to God’ however, man is not able to live by the arch–evil: the inability to repent, impossibility to seek forgiveness of God, and death are the inseparable companions of hatred and denial of God.

Everyone inevitably faces the ultimate choice either to accept the good and to live or to accept the arch–evil and to die.

Everyone is free

to love God and to confirm love and faith by own deeds,

by following His law, observing His words, and accomplishing His will

{John 14:23; 1 John 5:1–4}

to deny God and to betray Him by accomplishing the deeds of the evil

by serving the arch–evil that is murderer of man from the beginning

{John 8:39–45; 1 John 3:4–10}

If there is no faith and love to God, betrayal becomes the way of life: Judas’ pattern is common for those who serve not God {Matthew 6:24; 12:30; Luke 16:13}.

Although betrayal and crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ happened almost two thousand years ago, each time, when a human being chooses to serve the evil, he replicates betrayal of God committed by Judas Iscariot. This act of betrayal might look as

– decisions in a course of daily personal, business, political life; for instance, a decision to put the aged parents into the nursing house or charitable institution because of own inconvenience, even if there is a possibility to take care of them at home; adultery; rejection of a friend for material reasons; lack of desire to help those who are in need; breach of the trust by employee; politicians’ decisions and actions incompatible with interests of the nation, which they are expected to serve

– betrayal of the interests of the country (e.g., treason) for the sake of money or other advantages

– compromises in the matters of faith, religion, and ethics carried out for the sake of political and other advantages and because of

a/ expectations of physical security, protection, material gains in exchange for compromises or betrayal

b/ weakness as inability to carry the burden of responsibilities

c/ the reasons disclosed by the Old Testament’s prophets; for instance, such as insufficient knowledge of God, rejection of God, and apostasy {in the Books of the Old Testament, apostasy and idol–worship usually are referred to as adultery or fornication; for instance, in Hosea 5:4 – οτι πνευμα πορνειας εν αυτοις εστι, τον δε Κυριον ουκ  επεγνωσαν –  for the spirit of fornication is in them, they have not cognized God}.

Usually, compromises in the matters of faith, religion, and ethics are the consequences of the chain of correlated failures:

a/ lack of faith and absence of love to God

b/ inability to comprehend knowledge of God

c/ the inability to exercise the right judgment

similarly to the ancient chief–priests who competed their degeneration with rejection of God

Whom they were expected to love with all their soul, all heart, all understanding, and all strength

 {in: Mark 12:29–34; Malachi 2:4–9, 11–12}

The burden of the freedom of choice might become unbearable for the weak ones, for those who have no true faith in God and put their trust in man*9* that claimed the thrones of leaders. They have to deal with the harsh reality of the world that had rejected God, violated His law, and now faces inevitable collapse as the consequence of rejection of God and violation of His law, while they are not able to find solutions even for the most pressing problems.

The history of mankind might be envisioned as two spirals – upward and downward; both of them issue from one point (the point at which the choice is made) and consist of the repetitive cycles–actualizations of the same patterns. Although these cycles might be accomplished by the different generations, at the different levels of complexity, in different times, and in different places, their core/essence always is the same:

either the loyalty to God or betrayal of God

the choice – either the good or the evil

actualization either of the good or the evil

either development–evolution or degeneration–collapse.

The one could also say that the history looks like the chain of the repetitive tests, through which people of each generation have to make a choice: with God or without God.

For instance, many centuries ago, the Byzantine Empire already devastated by the Catholic Crusaders (who destroyed and plundered Constantinople, desecrated the Christian temples, raped, plundered and killed the Christians because of their rejection of the primacy and authority of the pope*10*) encountered deadly threat of the rising Islamic Caliphate. In despair, one of the last Byzantine emperors decided to seek the unity with Rome: he assumed that, with the help of the papacy, he would be able to withstand the enemies. He did not realize that the power of enemies was directed by God and intended to demolish his empire, in which the Christian Church was subdued to the will of men (emperors). Some of his advisers warned the emperor that it is better to live under the yoke of the Islamic conquerors and to follow the teachings of Christ than to accept the unity with the papacy along with the papal faith – Catholicism – and to fall into the deadly heresy, which already triggered the Great Schism*11*.

As the history shows, the emperor’s expectations were pointless: he did not obtain any help from the papal establishment.

So, Byzantium was ruined and the glory of the mighty empire vanished, yet, the Christianity survived – in spite of persecutions, commercial, political and other disadvantages, and discrimination of Christians. By the will of God, Christianity lived even under the rule of those who still crucify men and therefore, carry the infamous legacy of the most inhumane Phoenician civilization*12* that ever existed in the heathen world, which does not know true God.

In the Present, when the world is devastated by financial, political, environmental, social, and religious crises, spread of radical Islam and terrorism, when the certain groups of people in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia are facing extermination because of their religious beliefs, the head of the ecumenical patriarchate in Istanbul (located at the place where Constantinople – the capital of Byzantine empire – was) seeks the unification with Rome

a/ recognizing primacy of the pope

b/ referring to the pope and his subjects as to “the Christians,”

c/ preparing “Christian unity”*13* with the papal establishment – the Vatican

d/ disregarding the actuality – that the papal establishment is incompatible*14* with the Christian Church.

Some of the implicit reasons behind justification of such sacrilegious union include the necessity to curtail terrorism, which is fueled with the ideologies of death, and to stop advancement of Islam to the status of the dominant world–wide religion. However, the true reasons behind the ecumenical movement are the crusade of the arch–evil against Christianity and never–ending struggle of the papacy for the world–wide domination. Therefore, none of the implied and declared purposes of this sacrilegious union – Christianity with Catholicism – would be achieved.

Ultimately, it should be acknowledged that the current state of the world affairs is the fruit of

a/ papal Crusades in the Middle East

b/ centuries of terror unleashed by the inquisition

c/ institutionalized substitution of the heretical doctrines and teachings of men for the Law of God,

which – the substitution of doctrines of men for the Law of God – is the actual core of the papal establishment.

The mind that has the right discernment*15* and therefore unbiased perception of the history, could

1. infer that the current terrorism is the fruit of the doctrines, politics, and deeds of the European civilization, which was shaped by

1/ the medieval papal empire based upon idol–worship – cult of the deified pope

2/ by religious wars and persecutions unleashed by the papal empire

3/ by the Reformation and other wars unleashed by the nations against the papal empire

4/ violations of the Law of God; for instance, such as asserted

–          by Augustine of Hippo in his “wise judge” concept [[concerning permissibility to torture a man to prove his guilt or innocence, and justification of the judge’s action (even the man was innocent and died because of tortures) by the “binding claim of society,” which needs judge’s service, therefore, justifies his ignorance – The City of God VI:145–147]]] and in the statements that a/ some groups of people with the beliefs, which are different from the officially recognized by the state/structures of power, can be deprived of justice, and b/ the Christians can punish “evil men” with “profit and improvement to themselves.” Even if the evil men’s life and health should remain untouched, the “means of sustaining” their life might be taken away, if it be the God’s will [Augustine Epistle XCI.9 in: Select Letters 167–169]*16*

–          by Thomas Aquinas in his dictum that “unbelievers possess their goods unjustly”; consequently, the public authority may violently take the goods from the unbelievers [Summa Theologica  II–II Q.66 a8 ro2] *17*.

These assertions contradict the Law of God – the Sixth–Tenth of The Ten Commandments {Exodus 20:1–17; Leviticus 19:16–19; Deuteronomy 5:17–21; 6:4–7}: they violate the Second Greatest Commandment – love to the others {Matthew 22:37–40; Luke 10:25–37}*18*. In fact, the Augustine and Aquinas’ assertions re–iterate the outlook of the ancient heathens: war is “a natural mode of acquisition” of slaves and resources (as hunting is) that must be practiced by the heads of households and statesmen [Aristotle Oeconomica I; Politics I]*19*. The difference is only in definition (nation, personal traits, religion) of those included in the “natural” pool of the resources intended for plundering:

–          Aristotle is convinced that a/ some nations are naturally fit for slavery, b/ slavery is the divine order, c/ man is an animal (embodiment one of the forms of living beings – animals, reptiles, birds, spirits, men, etc., with which the Orphic deity – arch–dragon*5* – is stuffed) and therefore, object of hunting

–          Augustine of Hippo is after the evil men

–          for Thomas Aquinas, target is unbelievers.

Nevertheless, these assertions that contradict the Law of God have been elevated to the rank of the papal articles of faith, which made permissible discrimination and predatory practices and policies [[e.g., such as forceful conversion of the Jews*20* under the threat of confiscation of their property]] adopted also by the civil authorities of the states and the empires

2. perceive the current state of the world affair as descriptions provided by the ancient prophecies concerning the consequences of the violation of the Law of God and idol–worship {Deuteronomy 28; 30; Isaiah}; apparently, these prophecies are in a process of actualization at the world–wide scale

3. conclude that the war with the radical Islam, political ideologies, false religions and cults of death, firstly, is the war for the souls and minds of men. Among other means, this war proceeds through evaluation of the deeds of each side: each reasonable mind that faces the choice, in fact, judges

a/ by the criteria derived from its own perception of the good and the evil

b/ through assessment (according to own perception of the good and the evil) of the spoken words and accomplished deeds

3. infer that the core of the victory or the failure in this war is in the inner conviction of a person: what is the good and what is the evil. Thus, until the true knowledge of the good and the evil becomes the inner conviction of man, nothing can turn him to the good and nothing can prevent him from actualization of the evil, if he carries the evil within his heart–mind deprived of the knowledge of the good.

For instance,

– the jihadist recruiters name “Western immorality” and “hypocrisy” as the main reasons for conversion into their religion and assert revenge for the historical and current mistreatment of some Middle Eastern, Asian and African nations as the justification for violence and hatred; they convince those who seek justice and retribution for the past and present crimes committed against their ancestors and their nations, yet, who have neither knowledge of Christian Truth nor actual history of Christianity

– for the Christians, the faith of man is revealed by the deeds of man {James 2:14–26}; the essence of the religions, beliefs, political parties, etc., is evaluated by “the fruits” {Matthew 7:20–27; Luke 6:43–49}: what the pretenders on religious or other kind of superiority, in fact, give to those who follow them – the good or the evil, life or death, prosperity and abundance or poverty and insufficiency of all kinds.

Indeed, people may call themselves whatever name they choose: the prefect of the inquisition becomes “his holiness,” the inquisitors are canonized as papal “saints,” the corrupts and pedophiles in the state of mortal sin are called “the priests,” heathen political theology blasphemously covers itself with the references to Gospels, and the some burn alive, enslave, torture, and execute the others “in the name of Christ” or in the name of the “Merciful God.”

Nevertheless, whatever the people tell of themselves, whichever lies propaganda is spreading, the Christians in a possession of the right discernment evaluate the true essence of the others according to the words of Lord Jesus Christ {Matthew 7:15–27}, especially concerning identification of the “false prophets“: αραγε απο των καρπων αυτων επιγνωσεσθε αυτους  – surely, by their fruits you shall cognize them {Matthew 7:20}.

The current war for the souls and minds of the many is the most deadly of all wars (including wars against Marxism–Bolshevism and Nazism); it cannot be won by the army of spiritual descendents of the crusaders and inquisitors, corrupts, and pedophiles united with the apostates who desecrated the purity of Christian faith and betrayed Christianity.

In conclusion, the one could infer that the current state of world affairs makes especially visible the power of knowledge given by Lord God Jesus Christ and His apostles when they warned the Christians

1/ of the enemies who would come and disguise their true essence with the name of Lord Jesus Christ: false prophets, false teachers, apostates and heretics

2/ that communion/union/etc. with the heretics, apostates, the corrupted and spiritually unclean ones are forbidden for the Christians whose God is the Consuming Fire {Matthew 24:4–5, 23–24; Mark 13:5–6; Luke 21:8–19; Acts 20:29–30; 2 Peter  2:1–22; 1 John 2:18–21, 27; 3:7–10; 5:21; 1 Corinthians 5:9–13; 6:9–11, 19–20; 10:7–14; Ephesians 5:5–11; Hebrews 12:12–29; Deuteronomy 4:24}.

The immensity of the war that is raging in the lands of Middle East, Africa, and Asia is not comparable with the immensity of the spiritual war for the souls and mind, because of incomparability of the results:

1/ physical death is the natural end of every living being anyway; the difference is temporal settings, such as time, circumstances, methods, intensity of suffering

2/ the spiritual death as separation from God because of ignorance, heresy, atrocities and inhumanity committed against the others is the unnatural end, which any reasonable being should avoid by any means, even for the price of physical death {Matthew 10:28–39; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John}.

Violence, hatred, malice, desire for revenge, self–assumed right to enslave and kill the others in the name of God – all uncleanness and the evil that fuels the terrorism and current wars comes from within of the heart–mind {Matthew 15:19}. Unless the people obtain the power to forgive their enemies and to desire peace, this war can never be won: each place freed with death of one terrorist would be taken by the others; each destroyed weapon will be replaced by more deadly ones; each jailed or executed criminal would become an inspiration for new recruits, and so on, without end.

From such a point of view, the event, which took place in the Lazarus’ house, when Judas attempted to cover his preference for the interests of this world and disregard of reverence and love to God with concerns for the poor ones, should be remembered always. This event precedes the Judas’ betrayal of Lord Jesus Christ; it also carries the warning that the search of worldly advantages can be easily completed with the service to the ultimate evil.

And I think of the Judas Iscariot’s phenomenon:

– the Lord chose Judas to be His disciple although He knew that he is a devil that would betray Him {John 6:70–71}; the Lord tolerated his presence; moreover, God let him exist in His presence until he completes the work of the arch–evil, which God came to annihilate {John 17:12}

– Judas witnessed the miracles created by the Lord – the deeds that manifested the power of God; he should know that he is witnessing God, yet ultimately, he betrayed Him. The knowledge is not enough: it does not prevent betrayal; love does. The absence of love to God made Judas incapable of loyalty to God and capable of betrayal.

So, how the ordinary mind that does not have the gift of prophecy could foresee betrayal? How to recognize the pattern of betrayal behind the high words and propaganda that cover the actual purposes of men?

The time remaining until the day of celebration of Αγιον Πασχα – the Holy Pascha is also the time to recall that strong and steadfast faith*8* is the blessing of God and therefore the greatest treasure of a Christian: it sustains the right discernment*15* and encourages to pray God for forgiveness, mercy, and protection from the evil, so the one, by the mercy of God, could be empowered to win the war with the evil and obtain the eternity with God {John 12:44–50; 14; 15; 16; 17; Revelation 21:6–7}…

 *5* Orphism sustains theological–philosophical–political doctrines of Plato, Aristotle, and their followers.

With time, the Orphics developed myths into the doctrine that conveys the essence of the heathenism, the core of which is death – idolatry as worship to the arch–evil in the image of the serpent. The Orphism became the root of many heathen religions and cults, especially, the cults of serpents/reptiles – the cults of death with worship of snakes and horned animals. The Orphism is mythical serpentine theology; that is why, in the Gospels, the followers of Orphism and its derivatives are referred to as “offspring of vipers,” as the sons of the arch–evil – the ancient serpent of Genesis, as the ones who, within them, do not have place for the Word of God {Matthew 3:7–12; 15:1–20; 23:1–35; Mark 7:5–13; Luke 7:29–35; 16:13–17; John 8:37–47; Genesis 3:1–6, 14–16}.

*8* Faith is the optimal state of reason. The Holy Scriptures provide the comprehensive definition of faith: all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority are in Lord God Jesus Christ {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; Romans 14:23}. Through faith, the mind learns knowledge of God – the knowledge that is the eternal life {John 17:3}. According to the Christian teachings, faith is life: the life–bearing knowledge of God and the unity of the acquired knowledge with the manner of life; the just one lives by faith {Habakkuk 2:4; Luke 7:50; 1 Peter 1:9; James 2:14–26}. In other words, faith is the state of cognizance/knowing God, love to God, living by God, and unity with God.

*10* It should never be forgotten (because the seeds of the Future are in the Past) that

– the papal church of Rome unleashed the Crusades and terror of the Inquisition

– that the papal subjects–Catholics during the Crusade in 1204, sacked and destroyed the Christian temples of Constantinople, killed, raped, robbed the Greek Christians for their rejection of the authority of the pope, and established the Latin Empire (short–lived) on the ruins of the Christian temples

– that the Roman pope Innocent III experienced such a joy because of death of the Greek Christians and expansion of his earthly possessions, that he named the capture of Constantinople “magnifica miracula” [Innocent III’s letter qtd. in: Runciman, 151].

– that the Catholic Crusaders ruined Constantinople in such a degree that the Byzantine Empire was never able to recover completely; in the fifteenth century, it was easily conquered by the Muslims, and Constantinople became Istanbul – the capital of the Ottoman Empire: the papal Crusades made possible establishment of the Islamic Caliphate on the ruins of Byzantium. From the fall of the Byzantine Empire the model of global Islamic domination was born; now it is near to its completion

– that Thomas Aquinas, the main papal theologian whose political theology is the official doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, portrays the pope as the “divine person” who has “a share of the dignity of God” and an ability to stand “in God’s place” [Summa Theologica II–II Q.63 a3; III Q. 3 a7 ro2, ro3] – that is deification of the mortal man, therefore, establishment of idol–worship

– that the pope pretends to be the earthly substitute of God and the universal father–shepherd–teacher of all Christians, yet, the Aquinas’ political theology, which is the official doctrine of the papal church of Rome, has nothing in common with Christian teachings.

Now this – papal – establishment is desperately accelerating the next Crusade: ecumenism, which (although covered with the slogans of “Christian unity”) in fact, is continuation of thousand–year old papal struggle for the absolute power of one man over the souls, minds, and bodies of the entire world population and for submission of the entire Christendom to the absolute authority of one man – the pope–prefect of the Inquisition.

However, for the Christians, if the church is the Christian Church, she recognizes the only God, the only Absolute Authority, and the only Universal Teacher and Father – Lord God Jesus Christ {Matthew 23:8–12; 1 Corinthians 8:5–6}; otherwise, such an establishment is not the Christian Church.

*11* Soon after Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire, the process of corruption of faith and substitution of the dreams of the heathen philosophy for the words of God was initiated; eventually, it triggered off the Great Schism.

The Great Schism began in the sixth century with that what initially was comprehended as the discontent of the Patriarchs of Constantinople with the Bishops/popes of Rome who initiated their quest for the absolute power and authority over all Christendom. In 590, the 64th Roman pope Gregory I (590–604) openly asserted the claim on papal absolutism.

For a Christian, the following events, heretical assertions, and deeds incompatible with the Christian teachings make the Great Schism irreversible:

1/ acceptance of the Filioque – heresy directed against God the Father, which was invented by the Manichaean convert [[see Works of Augustine of Hippo – file is offered for download @ website Systems Logic [], Page Library_2]], and through which the papacy connects its authority with the authority of God the Father and pretends to speak on behalf of the Holy Trinity

2/ the sack of Constantinople, in 1204, accompanied with destruction of the Christian Churches and mass slaughter of the Greek Christians by the papal Crusaders

3/ acceptance of Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology [[based on the heathen philosophy rooted in the Orphism – mythical serpentine theology that sustains numerous cults of arch–evil practiced by snake–worshipers]] as the official doctrine of the papal church

4/ revival of the Manichaean heresy, because of which the papal laity is deprived of the Communion with two elements – bread and vine as it is established by Lord Jesus Christ

5/ terror and atrocities of the Crusades and the inquisition committed by the papacy and its subjects

6/ doctrines of the “special grace of the papal office,” “priests” in the state of the mortal sin that nevertheless act by “the power of the Holy Spirit,” papal claims on the absolute authority and infallibility in the matters of Christian faith, and other inventions that contradict the words of God.

*14* The papal establishment is incompatible with the Christian Church for the following reasons:

1. it has as its official doctrine Aristotle–Aquinas political theology founded on the heathen philosophy derived from the Orphic doctrine

2. it disregarded the most holy tradition of the Christians and revived the Manichaean heresy by depriving the Catholic laity of the Holy Communion with the bread and fruit of the vine as it was established by Lord Jesus Christ Himself {Matthew 26:26–28; Mark 14:22–24; Luke 22:17–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26}

3. it unleashed the unspeakable evil of the Crusades in the Middle East and Europe, including 1/ the Crusade during which the Christian Byzantium was destroyed, Christians temples desecrated and plundered, Christians of Constantinople robbed, raped, and killed, and 2/ the Crusade against the Christians of Bohemia who after treacherous execution of Jun Hus the priest rebelled against the papal heresy and demanded the Chalice of Holy Communion for all

4. it established the Inquisition, which during twelfth–seventeenth centuries waged terror of religious persecutions: tortured, burned alive, executed and imprisoned heretics and different–minded – for their beliefs and opinions inconsistent with the papal faith, and schismatics – the Christians for following the Christian teachings, loyalty to God, and rejection of the papal faith and authority of the deified pope who pretends to stand at the place of God and to have a share of dignity of God

5. it is headed by the Prefect of the Inquisition and run by Jesuits trained to hear the blasphemies against Lord Jesus Christ, therefore, to deprive themselves of the Spirit of God {1 Corinthians 12:3}, to accept the will of their leaders as the will of God renouncing own judgment and silencing own conscience even if they are ordered to assassinate the kings (who rejects the will of the pope), to imitate the arch–evil if it is needed for achievement of their purposes, and to perceive behavior of women as resemblance of “the enemy of the human nature”

6. during the centuries, it covered own heresy, crimes against humanity, and corruption with the name of Christ, even referring to their habit to burn people alive as to “the law of Christ,” and accepting Aquinas’ dictum that his church cannot imitate the mercy of God. As the result, the pretense of the papacy and papal subjects to speak and to act on behalf of the Christians

a/ made the Catholicism unacceptable for those who evaluate faith by “the fruits” – deeds and words of the believers {Matthew 7:15–23; 24:4–14; James 2:7–26; 3:18}

b/ made Christianity unacceptable for those who have neither possibility nor desire to learn the Christian teachings, yet who accept as truth the papal pretenses to speak on behalf of Christianity and the deeds of Catholics as true embodiment of the Christian faith

7. through the centuries, it is plagued by corruption, pedophilia, and perversion

8. cult of the pope – that is idol–worship; recognition of the pope infallibility stemming from the papal pretense to speak on behalf of the Holy Trinity; pope’s self–positioning above the Law of God and papal pretence on the right to override any law – divine and human; acceptance of the pope as the mediator between God and man, while there is only One Mediator – the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ; acceptance of the doctrine of unreserved obedience to the pope and members of the papal hierarchy until such a degree that the church must recognize black as white and vice as virtue if the pope says so; practice of indulgencies – purchase of remission of sins for money paid to the papal clergy; other articles of the papal faith and practices of the papal church, which contradict the words of God and reject the Law of God.

The Holy Pascha

For God so loved the world that He gave His only–begotten Son

that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life

{John 3:16}

I am the Resurrection and the Life;

the one believing in Me, though he die, he shall live,

and everyone living and believing in Me, shall not die for ever

{John 11:25}

…Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

He, Who according to His great mercy, has recreated us

to the hope living through resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

to the inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading

having been kept in Heaven for you,

by the power of God having been guarded through faith

to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time…

{1 Peter 1:3–5}

 …the love of God was revealed in us, because God has sent into the world His Son, the only–begotten,

that we might live through Him…

…and we have known and have believed in Love that keeps God in us.

God is Love, and the one dwelling in love dwells in God and God in him…

{1 John 4:9, 16}

On April 12, 2015, the Christians again celebrate the Holy Pascha – the day of deliverance, the day of resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, the day when the Son of God, the Word–God, bestowed life everlasting to everyone who wants to live. Christ is risen, thus, all His Own ones {John 10; 17} anticipate the eternity with God. As in Adam all die, in Christ all shall be made alive, because Christ is Love that keeps God in His creations, and the one who has God within, though he die [[by leaving the body – garments of flesh/structured matter that is the temporal carrier of the human spirit]], he shall live {John 11:25; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1:3–5; 1 John 4:9, 16; 5:11; 1 Corinthians 15:22}.

On the day of the Holy Pascha, along with celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, the Christians celebrate own birth into the eternal life, because the Word–God has translated them

from death to the life everlasting

from physical frailty of a body/flesh/temporarily structured matter

to the power of the inner man – soul–heart–mind that is set free, established, enlightened, and empowered

by the Word–God – Λογος/Αγια Σοφια

from the slavery of sin, evil, and bondage of the dissipating matter/flesh

to the freedom of an immortal human child of God

from the defenselessness of a human being that, within the world that crucified the Son of man,

can be tortured, maimed, killed for his faith in Lord God Jesus Christ, the Savior

to the strength of the people who are called by God out of darkness in His marvelous Light

to become the royal priesthood chosen by God to live in His presence and to reign with Him forever

{John 17; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}.

Always, and especially, on the day when the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated, the Christians bless God the Father and glorify His Holy Name for His mercy and for the hope of the eternal life in His kingdom. They pray that His mercy that is more than life and His Omnipotent and Almighty and All–forgiving Love revealed through His Son, the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ the Savior, be always with all, forever.

And I think: whatever knowledge the one has acquired during the entire life at the Earth, there is nothing comparable with the anticipation of the future with God, with understanding that on the day of the Holy Pascha along with celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord and Savior the one celebrates own birth into the eternal life*1*.

The human wisdom is silent before the reality of the crucifixion and the resurrection of the Son of man and Son of God: by death, the death is defeated, and death is no more – Christ is risen, and life everlasting is bestowed to every one who wants to live…

The End

…Christ is risen from the death, by death trampling upon death,

and bestowed life to those in the tombs…

{Hymn of the Holy Pascha}

It is the end of the evil, and it is the absolute victory of the Absolute Good: the Word–God entered the prison, which man built for himself and for all that are in his reach, and took His creation and His possession home, in His Kingdom. God has sent His only–begotten Son into the world to annihilate the sins of the world, so we might live through Him: as in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made alive. The will of God the Father is accomplished:

–– by the Love of God the lost are found, the sick are healed, and the dead are resurrected

–– the knowledge of God is given to all who are able and willing to accept

–– by the death of the Son of man, death is defeated; death is no more, and the dead are no more.

Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God has delivered man from the slavery of sin and death: life everlasting is bestowed to all who want to live {Matthew 26:39, 42; Luke 6:18–20; 15:1–32; John 1:1–4, 9, 14; 3:16–18; 4:34; 6:38–40, 69; 10:7–18, 27–36; 11:25–26; 12:27; 14:1–3; 16:27–28, 33; 17:1–26; 19:28–30; 1 John 4:9–10; Romans 5:6–21; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Malachi 3:17}.

In the moment of Lord Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, the present world entered the final stage of existence: it is waiting the second coming of the Lord as the harvest is waiting the reapers; the Christians, are waiting the new world promised by God. This world will come after the Judgment Day, and no one knows when: it might be tomorrow, it might be after many tomorrows. Moses the prophet told us: in the sight of God, a thousand years is as yesterday which is past {Psalm 89(90):4; Matthew 13:24–30, 38–43; 24:26–27, 34–44; Mark 13:1–37; Luke 12:35–36; 17:24–30; 21:22–36; John 4:35–36; 5:25–30; 15:16; Revelation 22:7, 12, 14–15; Sophonias 1:14–18}.

Apparently, the world did not change; it continues, and it will continue to rush toward its final day, until all the measures of evil are filled and the destiny of the world and those who have to pass through it is completed. Until then, in its last convulsions, the defeated arch–evil still continues consuming human blood, suffering and evil multiply, new crimes offend the daylight, and human beasts eat their brethren and sacrifice their offspring to the arch–evil that is hiding behind multitudes of the idols, heresies, slogans, empty words, and deceitful promises.

However, the holy feast of Resurrection of our Lord and Savior makes understandable that the current world is already yesterday: the past.

Jesus Christ, Lord God and Savior, is the End of the Law, the end of human despair, and the end of separation from God: He is the Creator of a new world, in which God dwells with His creations. God is Αρχη – the Beginning and Τελος – the Ending of this world and all things are anew, because the world that was created before and by the will of man became the world of death and suffering, is no more. The world of death is gone, and the world of the Future already is living within those who

–– believe in God

–– love God and His creations

–– call on the name of God

–– keep and observe the words and commandments of God

–– serve God in spirit and truth

–– serve the brethren in love and humility

{Luke 6:20–38; 10:25–37; 17:20–21; John 3:36; 4:24; 5:24; 6:47; 8:51; 11:25–26; 12:26; 13:13–15, 34–35; 14:6, 23–27; 15:1–21; 17:1–26;

1 John 3:14–18; 4:7–21; Romans 10:4, 9, 13; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:13; Isaiah 55:3–7; 57:15; 58:7–11; 65:15–17; 66:22}.

“The Resurrection

Χριστος Aνεστη!

Christ is Risen!

{1 Peter 1:3–5}

The people of the Old Testament knew the Future; during centuries, they repeated the words, which described deliverance from the slavery in Egypt, yet, which also predicted the ultimate deliverance. They awaited the time when a human being would be set free from the power of the temporal world of the evil and his soul would be empowered do not clung to the dust, into which it was cast {Genesis 3; Psalm 118(119):25–40, 105, 107, 174–176; Luke 10:22–24; John 10:27–30; 1 Peter 1:10–21} – the moment, when the human beings would be delivered from their διαφθορον – ultimate total ruin*2*:

…He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds asunder…

…He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their ultimate total ruin.…

{Psalm 106(107):14, 20}

Then, it was promised through Hosea the prophet:

After two days, He will heal us: in the third day,

we shall arise and live before Him, and shall know…

{Hosea 6:3}.

Then, the prophecies became the actuality, the daily life of man. The Life was revealed, the true Light has shined through the darkness, the Eternal Love and Truth brought grace and freedom into the temporal world–realm of evil, because the only Son of God explained God the Father to His creations, opened the Way home, into the kingdom of God, and gave the knowledge of God and His Son – the Word–God sent to save the world {John 1; 3; 4; 6:26–69; 8; 9; 10; 11; 14; 15; 16; 17}. This knowledge is immortality: it makes a human being

a firstfruit of new creations in Christ and by Christ

the partaker of the Perfect Love, Absolute Good, Holy Wisdom, and Eternal Law

the co–worker, field, and building of God

{John 1:1–18; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 1 John; Ephesians 1; 2; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

God gave to His creations the everlasting life, and this life is in His Son. God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so the world might live through Him – as in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made alive {1 John 4:9; 5:11; 1 Corinthians 15:22}.

Since, because of Lord Jesus Christ, physical death became just a threshold into the new life: as a seed dies in the soil to give life to a new being that comes out of the dust to the light of the sun, similarly, the human soul following Christ comes to everlasting life in the kingdom of God {John 12:24–26; Revelation 21:1–8, 22–27; 22:1–5, 10–16}.

Many things are given to those who believe in Lord God Jesus Christ: peace of God, knowledge of God, love of God, life in God and with God. The ancient prophecies are fulfilled and expectations of the ancestors became the actuality: each spring the Christians celebrate the Feast of Feasts, the day of resurrection of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior.

In all times, the prayers of the ones who seek God evoke the images of a stranger in the desert who is lost and who is dying of thirst, of the misery of a rejected and lonely man who runs away from his enemies and has no means to redeem himself, and of the poverty of a bankrupt who has nothing left to pay his debts. They roam through the depths of despair and lament their iniquities before their sins are annihilated, their debts forgiven, and they reach the life–giving waters of the presence of God {Job 30:19–26; 1 Kings 22:1–2;  Psalm 39(40):12–13; 41(42):2–3; 62(63):1;  64(65):9; 142(143):1–2, 6–11; Isaiah 64:5–7; Matthew 6:9–15; 11:28; 18:23–35; John 4:7–14}.

Indeed, in this world, the one might be seen as similar to the one dying of thirst of a body and thirst of the soul, who might be given water to drink, yet who cannot quench the thirst of the soul until he comes to Jesus Christ, the Word–God {John 4:5–14}.

And it cannot be otherwise, because only in God, His creations and children obtain the completeness, fullness, and perfection. The most important truth, which a human being should learn as the zenith of human wisdom and to teach his children as the only wisdom incomparable to all knowledge created by all the wise men of all generations, is that

only in God is life with all completeness

only in God is all of man

only with God the human soul–heart–mind obtains comfort, happiness,

and everything that is life and joy and beauty and perfection.

Only God gives complete unfaultable hope to every living being. Whatever the one has done in the past, the one should never give up the faith in Lord Jesus Christ, expectations of salvation through Lord Jesus Christ, and the hope in God’s Perfect Almighty and all–forgiving Love {Matthew 9:10–13; 18:11–14; Luke 5:30–32; Mark 2:17; 9:23–24; 11:23–24; John 3:16–21, 36; 8:1–16; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 1 John; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:1–22; Romans 8:28–39}, because

– by the Soul of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, the human soul lives as a human body lives by bread

– through His death on the cross, the dead ones receive the eternal life

– because of His Precious Blood, the sins of the repentant sinners are forgiven

– through Him, man is reconciled to God and returns into the Father’s house

– through Him, man becomes the temple of God the Spirit

– through Him, a mortal man becomes the immortal child of God who dwells in love of God

and is empowered to live eternally in the presence of God:

the one believing in Him has life everlasting: He is  the Resurrection and the Life;

the one believing in Him, though he die, he shall live, and everyone living and believing in Him, shall not die for ever

{Matthew 26:28; Mark 10:45; John 4:23–24; 6:32–69; 10:11, 17–18; 11:25; 14; 17}.

Love and mercy of God transform man into His servant, His child, and His temple. God’s Love and mercy embrace everyone who loves God and proves own love to God by observing His commandments and therefore, by accomplishing His will {John 13:34–35; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John; 2 John 6}.

How the one can answer love and mercy of God? What a creation is able to do for the Creator – the Almighty and Omnipotent God, if man is not enabled to see His face and to live, if the earth is His footstool, if all things are His, if the nations are as nothing, and if the entire universe is just a particle of dust created by “the stream of fire” rushing before Him {Exodus 33:20; Isaiah 40:10–31; 66:1–2; Daniel 7:9–10}?

The prophet says {Psalm 17(18):1–2; 62(63):3; 115:13; 144(145):1–3}:

I love Thee, O God, my strength, my firmament, my refuge, and my Deliverer,

for Thy mercy is more than life

I will accept the chalice of salvation

and I will call upon Thy Name

 I will exalt Thou, my God, my King,

and I will bless Thy Name for ever and ever

every day I bless Thee, and I will praise Thy Name for ever and ever.

So, all that man is enabled to do for the Creator is

to accept the precious gift – the Love of God

in return, to love Him

with all his soul, with all his heart, with all his mind, and with all his strengths

to prove his love by his thoughts, words, and deeds,

with which he embodies the words and commandments of God into his life

and therefore, accomplishes the will of God

{Matthew 5; 6; 7; 10:28–42; 11:27–30; 22:36–40; Mark 12:29–34; Luke 10:27–37;

John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John 4:9–21; 5:1–12}.

Hence, the Christian

– loves God more than he loves himself: he gives up everything for His sake and takes own cross {Luke 9:23} – difficulties and sacrifices for the sake of love to the others

– accepts the Chalice of Salvation with the Precious Body and the Precious Blood of Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, – the bread and the cup with the fruit of the vine, as it was given by the Lord God during His last supper, for the memory of Him {Luke 22:17–20; John 10:30; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26}

– loves and blesses Almighty God the Creator Who, through Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God, became his own Father: he calls God Father and asks for the daily Bread*3*, forgiveness of sins, and deliverance from the evil {Luke 11:2–4}.

So, in all days of life, and especially, in the day when the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated, the Christians bless God the Father and glorify His Holy Name, thank Him for the hope of the eternal life in His kingdom, pray that His mercy that is more than life and that His Omnipotent and Almighty and All–forgiving Love revealed through His Son, the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ the Savior, be always with everyone and with all, forever.

The feast of Holy Pascha is the day of commemoration of resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ and deliverance of men, when the Son of God, the Word–God, bestowed life everlasting to everyone who wants to live. He defeated death, and death is no more – Christ is risen:

Christ is risen from the death, by death trampling upon death,

and bestowed life to those in the tombs

{Hymn of the Holy Pascha}

The ancient hymn of the Resurrection conveys the message of the absolute victory: death is defeated, and death is no more.

There is no more death, and the dead are no more: life everlasting is bestowed to everyone who wants to live.

Χριστος  Ανεστη!

Αληθως Ανεστη!

Christ is Risen!

Truly is Risen!

 “The Water for the Arid Earth

…I spread forth my hands to Thee, my soul as the arid athirst earth…

{Psalm 142(143):6}

In the time of the Old Testament, the time of expectation of the Lord, it was said: I spread forth my hands to Thee, my soul as the arid athirst earth {Psalm 142(143):6}, and then, it was expectation of fulfillment of the promise:

He will come to us as the early and latter rain to the earth

{Hosea 6:4}

and it was explained to the teacher of Israel:

man must be born from  above, through the water and Spirit, because flesh gives birth to flesh,

yet, the one who receives the birth from the Spirit becomes able to enter the Kingdom of God

{John 3:5–6}

and then, it was confirmed in conversation with the woman that lived with the people of Samaria rejected by the Jews that whoever receives the water given by the Lord he shall never be thirsty again, but the water of God will become in him the fountain of water springing into the life everlasting {John 4:3–14}, and then, it was the last reminder concerning the promise of the salvation – the fountain of the living water out of the house of the Lord Who is the Holy of Israel {Isaiah 12:2–6; 44:3–4; Joel 3:18}

whoever believes in Lord God Jesus Christ, from him the water of living will flow

{it was said of the Holy Spirit Who would come after glorification of Lord Jesus Christ  – John 7:37–39}

and ultimately, it was fulfilled, when the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was crucified and gave up His life for salvation of the world: one of the soldiers pierced His side with a lance, and at once the Blood and the Water came out {John 19:34}.

The cycle of creation is accomplished, the ancient promise is fulfilled, and the destiny of the world is completed {Genesis 2:4–9; John 1:1–14; 3:1–20; 6:35–58; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter; 2 Peter 1; 2 Peter 1–13; Ephesians 1; 2}:

In the beginning, there rose the fountain from the earth

and watered the entire face of the earth,

yet, God did not rain upon the earth because it was not a man to cultivate her…

…God created man from χουν απο της γης – pouring dust of the earth

and made to spring up all living fruit–bearing creations out of the earth

the Word–God, the Light and the Life of the world, became man,

so His Blood would wash out the curse

that disobedience of the first man brought onto the perfect world

the Word–God re–created human nature

and enabled man to receive the Holy Spirit

{to Whom the Scriptures refer to as to the Rivers of the Living Water

and to the Fountain of Life –

John 7:37–39; Isaiah 12:2–6; 44:3–4; Jeremiah 2:13; 17:13; Joel 3:18}

by the Holy Spirit of God,

man obtains the authority to be a child of God

and becomes the dwelling–temple of the Living God

the Water of the Living poured out

and transformed the arid athirst earth/man

into the immortal child of God:

the mortal creature of arid fruitless earth became the living being

that carries within himself the fountain of immortality.

Although the Word–God left the world {John 9:4–5; 16:28; – and that is why the world is coming to its inevitable end, because anything in which God dwells does not perish}, yet, He comes to each person who believes in Him and observes His commandments: the human soul saved by Lord God Jesus Christ becomes the temple–dwelling of the Living God – the Almighty Holy Trinity; thus, it obtains life everlasting {John 6:38–40, 47; 14; 16; 17}.

…the countless generations that passed through the earth before and after fulfillment of the promise of salvation transformed the fruitful and abundant lands into the wasted soil and polluted deserts – places for degeneration, adverse mutation, and suffering of the living beings. In today’s overpopulated, scarce, hungry, and thirsty world, children of men are not welcome, and insufficiency of everything becomes the standard of living.

Yet, even within the world destined to destruction because of iniquities and evil of men, there is the hope, and there is salvation, because He, the Holy One of the Father, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, washed away the sins of those who believe in Him: He is the Way, and Light, and Life; He is the Door into the Kingdom of God, and all are invited. Whoever the people are now – sinners or the righteous ones, humans or beasts, rich or poor, wise or foolish, good or bad – all are invited, because all are the children of the One and only God–Creator and Father.

It is the matter of personal choice –

to accept the invitation of God, and to be transformed

from the arid earth

(that is man with η ψυχη ανυδρος  – the arid soul)

into the carrier of the spring of immortality

to reject God,

and to remain the arid earth, the dissipating dust coming into the oblivion…”

The Breath of Life

From the rising of the sun to his setting,

the name of the Lord is to be praised

{Psalm 112(113):3}

Every breath, praise the Lord

{Psalm 150:6}

The Psalms convey the codes of life; one of such codes/ordinances: from the East to the West, from sunrise to sunset, from the origin of the Sun to its end*1*, during the entire life–cycle, the name of the Lord is to be praised. Then, the conclusion: every breath must praise the Lord, and all the flesh must bless His holy name for ever and ever {Psalms 112(113):3; 144(145):21; 150:6}.

If to recall that life of man is the breath of God {Genesis 2:7}, and that by the power of God the world lives, the meaning of life unfolds as the presence of its Creator. Consequently, each breath is the actualization of being–life, therefore, the triumph of the Creator of life, and as such, must be the act of recognition, veneration, appreciation, and worship of God Who is the Source and Creator of life.

The mentioned above Psalms provide the concise code of the repetitive life–cycle:

origin of life as transformation of the divine energy into the breath of life

actualization of life as the act of breathing

consummation of life as the praise to the Creator

However, does the Almighty Omnipotent God need anything from His creations, which exist only because of His will and live only because He sustains their life?

Creations of God need God because without Him, their end is degeneration and oblivion. One of such needs finds its expression in praise and glorification of the Creator.

Any creation of God needs praise and glorifying of God, because the essence of the phenomenon, which the mind identifies as “praise and glorifying” of God, is maintenance of the foundation of life:

awareness of the presence and perception of the Creator

knowledge of the world that accommodates creations of God – comprehension of the terms and conditions of human existence,

 which include the compliance with the Law/Commandments of God

and openness to perception and understanding of the Absolute Good – the attribute of the Perfect God

Who gives life and love and sufficiency/abundance of all that could be ever needed for continuation of life

acceptance of Love, Power, and Divine Energy of God

(that the Christians know as the Word–God and as the gifts of the Holy Spirit:

knowledge of God, wisdom, and the power to comprehend wisdom and to transform it into

a/ own daily existence and b/ development for the next phase of life)

assimilation/consuming of Love, Energy, and Power that create and sustain life

at the Earth and prepare for the life everlasting in the kingdom of God

{John 6:27–70; 10:1–18; 14; 15; 16; 17}

actualization of life in God identifiable as “praise and glorifying of God”:

the acts of perceiving, recognizing, and accepting of the inseparable connection of creation with the Creator

and thanksgiving for life and other gifts bestowed by the Creator upon His creation

The Holy Scriptures define the meaning of praise and glorifying the holy name of God as the true sacrifice, which can be offered to God by the righteous, loyal, and loving children of God: Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, refers to God as to the Spirit Whose creations must worship Him in spirit and truth {John 4:23–24}; He speaks of the harvest of the Lord, of the fruits that His followers should bring to the Owner – God the Creator {Matthew 21:33–41; Mark 12:14–17; Luke 20:9–16; John 4:35–38; 15:1–10}.

  Therefore, when the “flesh” – that is a human being*2* whose body of flesh carries the breath of God and might become the dwelling–temple of the Spirit of God – begins to worship God the Spirit, it renders to God that is His Own and at the same time, extends own – human – existence into the eternal realm of God the Spirit.

In summary, what is the meaning of blessing*3* and praise*4* of God?

Firstly, it is awareness of life, acute joy of existence, triumph of Wisdom {John 1:1–5} by which the world was created and by which it exists.

Then, it is acknowledgment of love of God – the divine energy of life is recognized as the giver of life, as the Daily Bread descending from heaven to sustain life of the world {John 6:48–51, 57–58}.

Then, it is cognition of the Absolute Good and vision of perfection*5* that human beings must imitate, if they want to live righteously here, in the body of flesh, and afterward, to enter the realm of God the Spirit: the realm of the life everlasting.

Next, it is the answer – thankfulness, acceptance, and consuming/assimilation of the divine energy of life that enters the soul, which praises and blesses its Creator and therefore, opens itself for acceptance of the love of God and – with the love of God – the eternal life.

Form another angle of consideration, the meaning of blessing–praise–sacrifice, which man must render to God with each breath, unfolds as actualization of the connection of the creation–man with God the Creator:

human being’s act of accomplishment of the first greatest commandment:

to love God with all heart, with all soul, and with all understanding {Matthew 22:37} – that is with all essence of man

human being’s acceptance of love of God

the act of blessing by God, through which God maintains/feeds His creation with the divine energy

that gives to the human being

the energy for life, healing*6* of mental and physical disorders, knowledge*7*, and wisdom*8*

↓                    ↓                ↓                 ↓

actualization of knowledge and wisdom, which a human being received from God, and which

protects him from stumbling*9*

sustains his current life within the temporal world of the material things

prepares him for the eternal life

Knowledge and wisdom received from God empower the human mind a/ to understand that the main criteria of judgment and conditions of foreknowledge and wisdom, by which a human being lives, is the Law of God {Deuteronomy 30:10–14}, and b/ to transform own life into the actualization of the Law of God.

The Law of God – The Ten Commandments explained and elaborated by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God {Exodus 20:1–17; Leviticus 19; Deuteronomy 5; 6:1–9; 30:10–14; Matthew 5; 22:37–40; Mark 12:29–31; Luke 6:19–49; 10:25–37; John 1:1–18; 13:34–35; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John; 2 John 5; 6} – describes the human nature created into the image and after likeness of God. The Law*10* is the essence of conscience (heart) – the inner judge that evaluates thoughts, words, and deeds and determines destiny of man. As St. John the Apostle writes, if our heart does not condemn us, it means that we live by truth and observe the commandments of God {1 John 3:19–24}.

However, the human heart–soul–mind is not only the vessel that carries the Law; it is the code–pattern–essence of the world that man builds. The mind creates destiny of the world with own thoughts, and the knowledge (or ignorance) of the Law, with (or without) which the mind operates, allows deciphering and comprehension of the Future created by the mind. Consequently, if the mind desires to know the Future, it needs to evaluate itself by its compliance with the Law of God.

Then, the current disasters, problems, and other omens of the coming διαφθορον – total and complete ruin*11* become the features of a specific image – portrayal of the meaning of life and reflection of the minds, which believe that they are capable to maintain and control the world, assume the right to decide destinies of all the others, and forcefully push those who are in the sphere of their influence into the pit of destruction.

Then, the one could ask: what is the meaning of life, which does not recognize and praise its Creator? For instance, how the atheists live, if they do not acknowledge existence of God, therefore, they have no God to love, to thank, to praise, and to live by Him?

The answer is in the Gospel concerning the commandment of perfection {Matthew 5:45–48}. When Lord God Jesus Christ directs His followers to imitate perfection of God the Father Who sustains the entire world and gives Sun and rain to all – the evil and the good, He reveals one of the laws by which the temporal world exists.

Everyone is given life and the chance to live it in accordance with the Law, therefore, to enter the life everlasting: all have the same world accommodating temporary existence, and all have the same opportunities to make the choice between the good and the evil. Does man praise the Lord and give thanks for life, or does he not – this is the very own choice and the very own business of everybody: this is the very own freedom either to live or to die granted by the Creator to everyone. Those who live by flesh and those who live by the spirit, those who are the evil and those who are the good now or will be in their future, are known only to God {Psalm 32(33):13–22; 34(35):1; 35(36):10–12; 68(69):6; 93(94); 118(119); 138(139); 144(145); 145(146)}: He is the only Judge for all His creations.

Ultimately, human responsibilities and results of work might be described by the following correlation:

to discern*12* the good and the evil

either to reject or to accept the evil

to become the good and to achieve perfection by following the Light of God Who leads into the eternity with God

to follow the evil leading into the eternal darkness of separation from God

{John 1:1–13; 3:16–21;  8:12; 9:4–5; 12:44–50; 14; 17}

And I think: somewhere in the deep space, the lifeless rocks–remnants of the worlds, which have met their ultimate setting, travel. They drift aimlessly until the final destruction. They might enter the worlds that still live, as the Earth is, where in their last moments they are seen as the shooting stars, or they might move in the endless space endlessly.

What were their worlds, which forms of life they accommodated – the one might never know?

Could the one assume that those who were in charge of the worlds, which now are the lifeless pieces–remnants of the structured matter, rejected the source of their life? If so, they could do it in the same manner as the contemporary inhabitants of the Earth do with each act of denial of God and rejection of His love followed with violations of the Law of God – acts of violence, hatred, with all these wars, murders, ruthlessness, injustice, fraud, corruption, perversion, and evils of all kinds, which became the manner of daily existence in all societies. Would it be someone within the Universe who will be able to recognize the remnants of the Earth and to decipher the life it accommodated after the earthlings’ iniquities fill the measures of evil and the Earth meets its ultimate δυσμων  ––  the end {2 Peter 3:7–13}?

*1*  δυσμων – traditional translation is setting with the meaning of sunset; however, the root  δυσμ– originates cluster of words with the meaning of malformation, disgrace, degeneration. Consequently, one of the meanings of Απο ανατολων ηλιου μεχρι δυσμων {Psalm 112:3} might be the life–cycle: from the origin–development to its malformation–end.

*2* During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, of whom St. Peter the Apostle and St. Paul the Apostle write: ο κρυπτος της καρδιας ανθρωπος – the hidden heart of man {in: 1 Peter 3:4}, and the inner man who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται  – day by day, while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed {in: 2 Corinthians 4:16}, is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God.

St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος.

When the theological subtleties are not a subject of consideration, I use a brief contemporary and all–including (because a human being is the wholeness) definition – the mind.

 “The Healing

What is easier: to say “your sins have been forgiven you” or to say “rise up and walk”?  …

{Luke 5:23}

On one of the days, Lord God Jesus Christ was teaching Pharisees and teachers of the law who came from every village of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem. The house was overcrowded, and it was no access to the Lord. Some men brought the paralyzed man to be placed before the Lord so he would be healed, yet they could not enter. Then, they came on the housetop and through the tiles, brought the sick man on the cot down, to the floor, before the Lord. Seeing their faith*e1*, the Lord told: “Man, your sins have been forgiven.” Those around Him became to think that no one is able to forgive sins but God only, and they have heard blasphemy. Knowing their thoughts, the Lord asked them: What is easier: to say “your sins have been forgiven you,” or to say “rise up and walk”? To let them know that the Son of man has authority on the earth to forgive sins, He told paralyzed man: rise up, take your cot, and go to your house. So, the paralyzed man went away healed, and the people were seized with amazement; being filled with fear, they glorified God {Luke 5:17–26}.

There are at least three lessons in this text from the Gospels:

a/ to obtain forgiveness of sins is more important than to restore physical health

b/ healing of a body begins with healing of the soul that is sick (insufficient) because of committed sins

c/ God always answers those who ask Him with faith and perseverance.

And I think of the health and well–being: there are not much of these blessings now. The history of mankind, and firstly, history of ancient Israel, illustrates that the overall vitality of a human being, well–being and health of the entire nation, as well as efficiency and effectiveness of human establishments mirror connection with God and reveal degrees of observation or violation of the Law of God.

As of today, one of the decisive components that is necessary for healing and that is the first in the remedy for mental, physical, political, religious, social and other evils, became unavailable. This component is faith – knowledge of God, trust in God, and love to God: faith*e1* is the greatest wisdom and treasure of the human mind. If to read the Holy Bible, it becomes evident that in all cases when the Lord healed the sick, faith always was the necessary condition of revelation of the power of God.  Faith is the only thing, which God mentioned as something He came to seek in His creation {Luke 18:8}. Faith is the victory over the world of evil; faith is knowledge of the Past; faith opens the eyes of reason for comprehension of the Present; faith is foreknowledge of the Future promised by God {1 John 3:1–2; 5:4; Hebrews 11:1–40; 12:1–3; Revelation 21:1–4, 7; 22:1–5}.

Yet, even mentioning of God is forbidden in many government and public offices, courts, schools, military and other establishments. Those who tolerate “ban on God” and extermination of Christianity have forgotten or never knew the simple truth: the building is stable and safe for living until its foundation is stable, undamaged, and uncontaminated. It means that if the nation was founded on faith and trust in God, its destruction comes through destruction of its foundation – faith and trust in God.

And this is exactly that what is happening right now. Our world has entered into the phase of unmanageable collapse and it disintegrates more and more with each minute of time:

–– everything that we hold precious, everything we have, and everything we have built – faith, health, wealth, laws, justice and order, personal liberties and rights, human dignity, safety, national pride and self–esteem, dignity of citizenship (with the pledge of allegiance which mentions one nation under the God), respect to those who did our wars and died defending the country, to those who lost health in the service of the nation, and to those who made the wars started by “democratically elected” evils and covered by the slogans of “safety and protection of freedom”– everything is denigrated, devaluated, despised. Even cross on the grave of soldier and the cross as a sign of war memorial became the objects of hatred…

–– the country is devastated and impoverished by the decades of miscalculations and mistakes committed by those who were trusted with the highest authority, yet who were guided by astrological–occult–mythical thinking, greed, false pride, and personal interests and who overlooked penetration of the enemies, re–focusing on the foreign interests, robbery of the country’s wealth, and destruction of the protective structures and establishments…

–– corruption, greed, and incompetence of the politicians and anger of the people have led into the trap of the contemporary crisis, which accelerates destruction of the traditional values and institutions, and which will culminate in political, social, and financial bankruptcy of the country that in the Past was the Promised Land of freedom, the richest and the most advanced nation–state on the Earth…

–– the borders are open and there is neither wisdom nor power to stop penetration of enemies, terrorists, drug–smugglers, criminals, who as the vultures flow to snatch the piece of disintegrating flesh…

If we allow continuation of denigration of the ideals on which the country was built, it means that we became the nation of paralyzed slaves managed by fear, poisoned by propaganda, corrupted and debilitated by false and vice, rushing into atheism–marxism–socialism–communism–other slaughter cages, and incapable to beseech forgiveness of God and consequently, to regain health and freedoms. There is no wisdom left to understand the truth: without God, healing of sins and restoration of health and sound reasoning will never come. Yet, the only Source of wisdom – God – is rejected.

God created human beings to be free and gave them the world in which they have to exercise their free will and to live according to their choices. By own free will, the human mind

–– either opens itself to the healing power of the Creator, lives by God, and creates the free and prosperous world, which reflects its knowledge and love to God

–– or rejects God, closes itself for the healing power of the Almighty Father, falls into the slavery of evil, and becomes the withered branch incapable of creation of the good, therefore, unsuitable for the life according to own divine nature. Yet, the withered branches have the end – proper and deserved: fire of annihilation…”

*e1* Faith is the optimal state of reason. The Holy Scriptures provide the comprehensive definition of faith: all knowledge, all treasures of wisdom, all fullness of life, all power, and all authority are in Lord God Jesus Christ – He is  της πιστεως Αρχηγον και Tελειωτην – the Author/Chief of faith and the One Who completes, makes perfect, consummates faith {Matthew 8:5–13; 9:20–22; 14:29–31,36; 17:20; 21:22; Mark 9:23; 11:24–26; Luke 5:20; 8:49–50; 17:6; John 3:16, 36; 14:12; 15:4–7;  1 John 2:20–21, 27; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 13:2, 9–13; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1, 32–34; 12:2; Romans 14:23}.

*8* In brief, wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God. This power is given by the Holy Spirit Who comes because of the Word–God, the Holy Wisdom of God – Λογος, Αγια Σοφια – to the one who has faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, who loves God, who accepted the knowledge of God, and who proved his love to God with observance of His commandments and with the deeds of good {John 14:14–26; 15:10–17; 17; 1 John 3; 4}.

St. Paul the Apostle writes {in: 1 Corinthians 2:6–16} of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind.

See Preliminary Notes and Introduction: Concept of Wisdom, Knowledge, and Reason/Intelligence in Apostasy – file The World & The War. Part II. Apostasy is offered for download @ website Systems Logic [], Page Library_2. A brief excerpt from Apostasy follows

“…Wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

Wisdom might be also defined as comprehension of the Law/Will of God and the subsequent ability to observe the Law – to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law/Will of God into daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

At the level of the human mind, wisdom is the power that enables the mind

a/ to comprehend the Law of God that controls existence of the world

b/ to create invincible establishments/systems for achievement of the purposes that actualize the will of God within the human world

c/ to accomplish own evolution, for instance, as development–achievement of the maximal potency of reasoning, comprehension and creation of knowledge

“The Stumbling Ones

if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles

because the light is not in him

{John 11:10}

I happened when Lazarus died. Lord God Jesus Christ told His disciples “let us to go to Judea again”; He had to resurrect the dead and to call him from the tomb, so the people would see the power of God and believe {John 11:1–45}. Disciples are afraid to go to Judea because recently the Jews were seeking to stone the Lord for His teachings. The Lord already told the disciples that while He is in the world, He is the light of the world and that it is necessary for Him to work – to accomplish the will of God the Father – in the day, the time while He, as the Son of man, is in the Earth {John 9:4–5}. They have seen the miracles of the Lord. Yet, the essence of things is still clouded and they still are not able to realize Who is with them and how great is the power of the Almighty God. Nevertheless, finally, in their love and loyalty to the Teacher, they decided to come with Him and (as they think) to die with Him. The Lord, knowing their heart, tells them that if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him {John 11:10}.

In the context of the Gospel, to stumble means to commit sin. The people wanted to stone the Lord because His words do not have place in them {John 8:37}: they sinned before God, firstly, because they want to murder a human being, then, because their judgment is wrong.

Without God, man comes to the wrong judgment; he does not comprehend the essence of things; he makes mistakes; then, he knowingly or unknowingly violates the Law of God, and eventually, he falls in misery and despair.

Other texts of the Holy Scriptures tell us that the commandments of God are the light on the earth, the light to the paths of man, and the earth is the place to learn righteousness, so our work shall be done in truth. It is also written: “I have hidden Thy words in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee” {Psalm 118:11, 105; Isaiah 26:9–10}.

The main lesson, which follows from the referred above texts of the Holy Scriptures, is that only Word–God gives knowledge and understanding, therefore, protects from sin: without Word–God, there is no light on the path of man, so, man walks in darkness and stumbles –– he commits mistakes, and sins against God and against the others.

In the time of Lazarus’ death {John 11:1–16}, the knowledge of disciples of the Lord also is not complete: they are afraid of the people, and they still do not recognize the Almighty God in their Teacher. Therefore, they also are the stumbling ones. Yet, there is something that differentiates them from the others: they decide to follow the Lord and to die with Him. What makes a human being able to follow someone even until death? Nothing but love: only love to the Lord helped His disciples to overcome fear, because the promised by God and complete knowledge they would receive later {John 7:39; 14:16–17, 26; 20:21–22}. Also later, St. John the Evangelist would right: there is no fear in love; the perfect love casts out fear {1 John 4:18}.

 Some of us are the stumbling ones in relations with other people: we make mistakes in thoughts and deeds, in judgment and expectations – in everything. Insufficient knowledge and imperfection of reasoning originate many of such mistakes, and it cannot be otherwise, because our path to the love to God and process of cognition of God for which we live in this world, are not competed. As St. Paul the Apostle explains, until we come to the perfection, our vision and our knowledge are partial and unfinished {1 Corinthians 13:9–13}. Although each time when we read the Lord’s Prayer we call God “Our Father” (therefore, identify ourselves as the children of God), only in the Kingdom of God we will learn the ultimate truth concerning ourselves {1 John 3:1–2}, and our knowledge will come to the completion.

Until then, only love is able to compensate the lack of understanding. Only love is the universal remedy for mistakes, pain, misery, and despair of those who walk in the darkness and stumble, because there is no Light with them.

Although we still wander in the darkness of our sins and lack of faith, God already gave us the key to the door of the home, which waits us. We already are able to discern the light of this home: it illuminates the darkness of our path and enables us to reach the destination safely. The light is our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ – the Word of God; the key is love. Two greatest commandments of love {love to God and love to the others – Deuteronomy 6:4–6; 30:19–20; Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:37–40} are the essence of the Law – the Law, which is the essence of human heart {Deuteronomy 30:11–14}.

And I think of the inner harmony and logic of the Law that is given us to learn, to fulfill, and to make the reality of life:

our God is the Perfect Love

by love and mercy of God this world still exists

because of the love of God, we have chance to enter the Eternity with God

{Matthew 5:44–48; John 3:16–17; 1 John}

consequently, what else but love can compensate insufficiency of

our abilities of reasoning and of understanding the nature of things?

What else can bring the end to suffering and despair?

Love is the greatest compensatory function of the mind–soul–heart, which – even when it is no knowledge – awakes the compassion, clears the vision, and allows with the lightning speed to penetrate depth of the heart and to understand sorrows of another human being. Love enables us to share with those insufficient and afflicted that what was given to us, even if we think that we do not have enough for ourselves.

Loving and merciful heart–soul–mind [[see Note *2* to the main text]] works in the same rhythm that the divine energy, which sustains life of the world: it is born of God, it is opened for the divine Love, and it is the dwelling of God {John 1:12–13; 13:34; 14:23; 1 John 4:13–21}, thus, the part of God’s Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is within us, and love is the key that opens it for us and for the others…”

The War

Τι το γεγονος;  αυτο το γενησομενον…

…ουκ εστι παν  προσφατον  υπο τον ηλιον

What is that which has been? The very thing that shall be

..there is no new thing under the sun..

{Ecclesiastes 1:9}

In August, 2010, I posted The War @ my website Sunday’s Thoughts*1*.  Now, almost five years later, the problems of which I wrote became aggravated, and the task to find their decisions is more difficult. With each passing day, the savage wars and crimes consume more and more human lives leaving death, suffering, and devastation behind: in fact, the plentiful and abundant world of life has been transformed into the harvest fields of death.

The present state of affairs leads to the conclusion that the world is disintegrating, because the forces that should keep its wholeness and therefore, to preserve life, vanished; so, its pieces keep falling apart with accelerated speed, leaving behind the void of death.

One of such lost forces is the power of the human reasoning, which should secure survival and accomplishment of the main purposes of human beings: own evolution–development and maintenance and evolution of the world given into the dominion of man.

If to apply the old–fashioned criteria for evaluation of wisdom of the rulers [[peace, prosperity, and mental and physical health of the nations]], the one could infer that no wisdom is left in those who assumed responsibility to maintain life of the societies and human institutions. They have usurped the power of coercion for the sake of achievement of own purposes, which seem to be inconsistent with the good of those who they control, and cover the purposes of own enrichment with slogans and propaganda, while pushing their subjects through incessant wars, conflicts, financial, political, social, and religious crises.

Constantly spreading and increasing misery, discontent, poverty, plagues, wars, pollution, corruption, crimes, inhumanity, perversion of all imaginable kinds give no evidence that the human reason still exists – in those who lead the societies, nations, and other establishments as well as in their subjects who, seemingly, have lost the right discernment*2* starting with an ability of independent and unbiased judgment, and transformed themselves into the replaceable parts/unreserved slaves*3* of the establishments, which are crafted after the old heathen utopian models devised by the followers of the Orphism*4* – Plato and Aristotle*5*, and the inhabitants of which are fed with deceit and propaganda made by the spiritual descendents of Aristotelian opinion–makers.

It should be acknowledged that the immensity of the war, which is waged with weapons, missiles, drones, and troops [[for instance, such as the one that now is raging in the lands of Middle East, Africa, and Asia]] cannot be compared with the immensity of the spiritual war for the souls and mind of those who today are still alive: the results of these wars are different.

For instance {cf. in: Matthew 10:28–39; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; Isaiah 59:2–15},

1/ the temporal – physical – death, which is carried by the war waged with weapons and troops, is the natural end of every living being anyway; the difference is in the temporary settings, such as time–duration of the life–cycle, circumstances, methods, intensity of suffering while separation of the soul from its temporary dwelling – body/flesh

2/ the eternal – spiritual – death, which is the consequence of separation of the human soul–heart–mind from God, is the unnatural end, which any reasonable being should avoid by any means, even for the price of physical death. Human beings come to this end because of their ignorance, heresy, idol–worship, atrocities and inhumanity committed against the others.

Thus, the roots of the eternal life and the eternal death are within the human heart–mind: the one who seeks salvation and desires enter the everlasting life in the Kingdom of God, should understand that violence, hatred, malice, desire for revenge, self–assumed right to enslave, to kill, to mutilate, and to humiliate the creations of God in the “name of God,” and all the evils that fuel the terrorism and current wars come from within of the heart–mind {cf. in: Matthew 15:19}.

The hope for the better tomorrow might be found only in change and purification of the heart–mind by filling it with knowledge of God and love to God and to the others {Matthew 22:36–40; 25:31–46; John 1:1–18; 10; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

The current and similar wars can never be won, unless the people obtain

the power to see the image of God in each other

the ability to forgive*6* their enemies

the sincere desire of peace and prosperity for all the others,

including the former enemies

Until then, each place freed with death of one terrorist would be taken by the others; each destroyed weapon will be replaced by more deadly ones; each uncovered plot will train the conspirators to devise the more sophisticated ones, each jailed or executed criminal would become an inspiration for new recruits, and so on, without end.

Thus, the only hope is left that the human beings, eventually, will

realize that they are not the beasts that live only because they feed themselves

with flesh and blood of their brothers

turn to the Creator and beg Him for mercy and forgiveness,

so He would open their eyes to see and ears to hear and the mind to understand the difference

between the good and the evil, between the life and the death.

If not, any hope for the better tomorrow is pointless, because if the mind rejects God Who is the only Source of good in this world and disregards His law, it transforms itself into the living death–embodiment and actualization of the arch–evil. Subsequently, its destiny is the ignorance, misery, suffering, and death.

Until God empowers it, the mind – by itself, with its imagination intently bent upon the evil from its youth – is capable of creating nothing good {John 15:1–7; Genesis 8:21}. Only by the mercy of God and with Love of God the new that never was before*7* and the good and peace and prosperity enter the human life and keep the world living.

Within the world of death and hatred, the Christians have the purpose: to undertake the spiritual war with the evil and to win it for the sake of own salvation as well as for the sake of salvation of those who they could assist in finding the road*8* to God. If the one lives by God – if he is Christian, he should always remember that

1/ the Only One True God of the Christians is the Perfect God Who is Love;

His attributes revealed and explained by the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ,

are the Absolute Good–perfection*9*, love, and mercy

{John; 1 John; Matthew 5:17–48; Luke 6:35–38}

2/ the Law of God is love: love to God and love to the creations of God

{Matthew 22:36–40}

3/ true faith in One Merciful God cannot be actualized with the merciless deeds of the evil,

such as murder, enslaving, inflicting harm and suffering upon creations of the Merciful God

4/ deeds of the believers reveal the essence of their faith

{Matthew 7:15–23; 12:33–35; Mark 13:5–6; Luke 6:43–45; 21:8; James 2:13–26}:

the deeds are the embodiment/materialization of the actual, not publicly confessed and propagated, faith,

to which the heart–mind adheres to

5/ any establishment that propagates violence,

assumes the right to inflict harm on the people because of their religious convictions,

persecute the Christians for their faith in Lord Jesus Christ,

carries out acts of violence and atrocities against people of any nation, religion, race, walk of life,

and therefore, denies the Law of God, is the establishment of the arch–evil.

Christians are armed with the knowledge that is the everlasting life {John 17}; it means that their entire life should be actualization of this knowledge, especially within the temporal world that lives by death.

“The War

Do not think that I came to cast peace on earth;

I came not to cast peace but a sword…

{Matthew 10:34}

…I came to cast fire into the earth

{Luke 12:49}

When the St. Apostles and Evangelists Matthew and Luke convey the words of God, in which He defines His purpose, they both use the same word βαλειν {Matthew 10:34; Luke 12:49}. The root βαλ–  originates the cluster of words with the meaning to cast, to throw forcefully, to shoot, to impact through weapon; to injure as the result of action. Currently, some of these words are used to identify ballistic weapon, missiles, etc., and results of weapon’s impact. Thus, God came to bring the weapon (the fire and the sword for those who would follow Him), which would ignite the division – the war, and so intense this war must be that it would dissever family ties and transform even the members of the same household into enemies {Matthew 10:34–36; Luke 12:49–53}.

By its very nature, any war is ruthless: war is the most inhumane form of deprivation of enemies of their life, wealth, and other possessions.

Yet, the core message of the New Testament’s Books is forgiveness, tolerance, forbearance, mercy, sharing of possessions, and love, which enables a human being to give up his life for the sake of the others, and which is greater than faith and hope {Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:28–38; John 13:34–35; 15:12–13; 1 John 3:10–18; 1 Corinthians 13:4–8, 13}. Consequently, the Christians must imitate actions of Lord God Jesus Christ; for instance,

–– when the people living in a village of Samaritans did not accept the Lord, because He was going toward Jerusalem, and His disciples (who already were given the power to control the forces of nature) asked the permission to tell fire to rush down from Heaven to destroy the villagers as Elijah the Prophet did, God rebuked them and said that they do not know of what Spirit they are, for He did not come to destroy the souls of men, but to save. So, they went to another village {Luke 9:51–56}

–– when the servants and soldiers of the high priest and Pharisees led by arch–betrayer Judas Iscariot came to take the Lord Jesus Christ and Peter drew his sword to fight for the Lord, God ordered Peter to put his sword into the sheath, because all who take a sword shall perish by the sword {Matthew 26:47–52; John 18:3–12}.

So, how to reconcile the referred above and other texts of the Holy Bible? What kind of war we, the Christians, must wage on the Earth, and which kind of weapon we have for this war

–– if our Lord God and Savior asked God the Father to forgive those who crucified Him {Luke 23:33–34}

–– if we have the commandment of God to love and forgive the enemies who took our possession, wounded our body, and inflicted upon us grief and suffering

–– if we must not use any weapon of men to retaliate by destroying or wounding bodies of our enemies?

So, what kind of war is it, if in fact, we have nothing from this world to defend ourselves against the coercive power of mighty authorities, their armies, weapons, and oppressive forces?

All that we have in our possession is the invisible fire – the Holy Spirit of truth, the Teacher, the Spirit of God – within our soul, and the invisible sword – the Word–Law–commandments of God – in our heart and mind {John 14:16–17, 26; Revelation 1:16}. Yet, during all centuries after crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, in all cases when it was (or is, or will be) the time to leave this world, they did not protect the Christians of the Past, as they do not protect the Christians of the Present, and as they will not protect the Christians of the Future

–– from the stakes at which the papal Inquisition burned alive those who refused to worship the pope and to recognize him as the earthly substitute of God, as well as those who refused to accept Catholicism/heathen Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology and recognize it as the Christian teachings; for instance, as Jan Hus who was burned alive as the heretic*e1*, because he did not accept Aquinas’ innovation/Manichean heresy – communion with one element when the papacy deprived the Catholic laity from the Cup of Eucharist, and because he rebelled against Aquinas’ perversion of the Christian teachings and deification of the pope*e2*

–– from the Catholic crusaders who sacked Constantinople, murdered, raped, and tortured the Greek Christians and plundered the temples of Christian God

–– from the Bolsheviks–Marxists–Communists who blew up the Christian temples and executed priests and the faithful

–– from the followers of Nazism, Maoism, radicalism, transhumanism, atheism, Darwinism, ethics–free sciences*e3*, and all kinds of perverts who hate Christian God and the Christians

–– from the Muslims in the Islamic countries who kill the Christians for their faith and fulfillment of the commandment of God to preach the Gospel to all the creation {Mark 16:15}, who pay with hatred and murder for the help they receive from the Christian missionaries, who close Christian temples and seminaries (whichever still survived under centuries of oppression, persecution, and intolerance) and gradually eradicate Christian population, while the Muslims in the Western countries (Europe and the US) use the tolerance of the people, benevolence of the authorities, the power of Western laws, constitutions, and traditional liberties to build their places of worship, to spread their faith, and to bring their body–mutilating laws, “honorary killings,” terror, and hatred to the Christianity and Christians into the societies of the people who (because of ignorance, or indifference, or inability to identify the strategies of the war with “the infidels” behind propaganda and slogans of peace and tolerance, or inability to recognize the purposes of global advancement) allow them

1/ to live in their midst

2/ to enjoy charitable services and privileges established by the Christians

3/ to creep into the law–establishing and controlling institutions

4/ to assimilate and digest their countries, and to use their assets for establishment of the global Islamic empire

–– from the totalitarian and other slavery–based regimes, which are intolerable to the very idea that spiritual and any other kind of freedom might be allowed to their subjects or exercised without their control and permission

–– from all other past present and future enemies of the Christian faith

–- from the inevitable evil of the last days when we, the Christians, will be betrayed, tortured, murdered, and hated by all nations for the name of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ {Matthew 24:9–10}…

So, what is this war, which is not to be fought by armies, by swords, missiles, and other weapons invented by men, and in which we, the Christians, survive only if it is the will of God to prolong our earthly existence or to give us a chance to complete our works?

This war is fought by the Spirit and the power of Almighty God {Zacharias 4:6}. As St. Paul the Apostle writes {Ephesians 6:10–12}, this war is not against blood and flesh [[against human beings]]; this war is

against the evil powers, which have the tight grip on this world

against the methods and establishments of the evil, by which it rules the world

against darkness of this age of ignorance

For the victory in this war, the Christians are sustained by the Word–God, armed with faith and knowledge of the words/commandments of God, and protected by love and mercy of God. Therefore, each act of fulfillment of the commandments of God, each act of kindness, mercy, forgiveness, tolerance, assistance to the others, which is committed according to the main commandment of Christian love, –– any such act confirms truth of the Christian faith, and draws the ultimate victory {1 John 5:3–5} nearer.

This war is the personal spiritual war of a human being

against sins, which are the manner of life within the world governed and consumed by the evil

against every embodiment of evil, which encroaches on freedom of conscience,

on freedom of thinking, and freedom of choice between the good and the evil

against any temptation to violate the commandments of God

against any compromise with the world,

which might facilitate the earthly existence for the price of betrayal of God

In this war, the human soul–heart–mind is tried, proved, and purified in the furnace of affliction as silver or gold is melted and tried by fire, so all impurities and additions would be burnt out, and it will become perfect in its purity {Isaiah 1:25; 48:10; Malachi 3:2–3; Luke 12:49}.

Now, the time of tribulation came and the Western civilization has to pay for violations of the Law of God in the same manner as it is written in the Holy Scriptures {e.g., Deuteronomy  28:15–68; 30:11–20; Isaiah 1:21–24, 28–31; 2:6–21; 5:1–30; 9:16–20; 24:1–22; 33:7–12; 34:1–16; 59:1–18; 65:12; Jeremiah 16:11–13; Ezekiel 15:1–8; 26:19–21; 33:25–29; Matthew 24:2–44; Mark 13:2–37}: for rejection of God, for disregard of the commandments of God, for the worship of idols of wealth and power, for predatory plundering and pollution of the Earth, for the papal Crusades, for all the wars waged against other nations, for greed, envy, corruption, perversion, bestiality, for all crimes against God and against men,

–– the curse of the Law – “the wrath of God” predicted by Moses and the Old Testament’s prophets and confirmed by the Word–God is falling upon the Earth, upon those who live now, and upon those who will be born tomorrow

–– lies, envy, hatred, corruption, vice, evil imagination, perversion, and false pride took the place of righteousness; so, degeneration of human nature, weakening of reasoning, abnormal mutations, incurable diseases, impoverishment, spiritual slavery took the place of healthy and prosperous life; wisdom, freedom, and beauty left the world, because they are the companions of children of God, not human beasts, which consume each other

–– the enemies already took their place at the highest levels of the hierarchies of the power, and filled the lands, so those who have refused to serve God must now serve their worst enemies in humiliation and disgrace {Deuteronomy 28:47–52}.

All that is needed for those who desire to understand the Present and to see the Future, is to substitute the contemporary names of the Western countries and nations for “Jerusalem” and “Israel,” then, the ancient texts of the Holy Scriptures will become the precise description of the Present (just read the daily news) and forecast of the Future.

And I think that now, in the time of reckoning, the ruthlessness of this war is especially clear:

–– the very presence of it foretells a very real possibility of personal troubles, problems, and even untimely death of a body (none of the hierarchies of power, especially, headed by the enemies of Christian faith, tolerates free–thinking people who live by the Word–God)

–– defeat in this war means the separation from God – that is the spiritual death.

St. Paul the Apostle revealed his vision of the Christian’s life in his and in the last times {2 Corinthians 4:8–11}, so the one should know what to expect, so the one would make the choice to be or not to be a Christian knowingly. The Christians always bear dying of Lord Jesus within, so also life of Lord Jesus Christ may be revealed in them. Death – death for this world of sin and corruption – works in them; besides, humiliation, mockery, persecution and death are all that the world of evil is able to give them. With life and death, the Christians must imitate Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior; it means that although they might die as the criminals, yet, their conscience does not condemn them, because they love God and accomplish His will.

Yet, if given a choice {because the Christianity is the precious gift of God, and only those who are chosen by God the Father, come to Him through His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – John 6:44–45; 14:6; 15:16; Romans 8:29–31}, would any Christian

–– prefer the comfort and safety of the cozy dark cave of ignorance ruled by the powers of the evil to the narrow and difficult road of cognition illuminated by the Light of God?

–– prefer life without God and comfort of submission to the powers of the evil (which in return for unreserved obedience and worship could promise prosperity, entertainment, fulfillment of all imaginable and unimaginable desires, even all kingdoms of the earth with their wealth, might, and glory) to the cross and the yoke of Lord Jesus Christ – God and Savior {Matthew 4:8–10; 10:38–39; 11:29}?”

The New That Never Was Before

there is no new thing under the sun.…

it has already been in the ages that have passed before us

{Ecclesiastes 1:9, 10}

Ecclesiastes speaks of the world of men and of labors and deeds of men:

– generation comes, and generation goes, yet, the earth continues her age, the wind goes round and round and returns to its circuits, the rivers run into the sea, yet, the sea is not filled, and rivers come back to their origin, so they shall run again

– all things are full of labor, yet, everything will be done again: there is nothing new under the sun; all existed in the ages that passed before us

– there is no memory of the first things; there will be no memory of the last things that will happen in the last time {Ecclesiastes 1:4–11}.

So, in the world of men, whatever existed before, will come again; it has already been in the Past, and it will come in the Future: the wars, plagues, errors, heresies, atrocities, crimes, catastrophes, hurricanes, rain and flood, sun and moon, day and night, love and hatred, virtue and sin, life and death – all that is the daily life of men has already been and it will be again and again until the earth completes her age.

Life at the earth is arranged by the repetitive cycles; each cycle has the same pattern.

Consequently, it should not be memory of the ancestors in persons who live in their Present: each mind has own cycle to complete, own knowledge to learn, own purposes to realize, own time–space–complexity point to embody own thoughts into the structures of the matter, and own reserves to use for achievement of the purposes. Each human being is the unique cosmos that has been created in the image and likeness of God either to accomplish His will within a particular universe or to perish.

However, each new generation comes for the sake of the same purposes: to cognize the good and the evil, to make a choice – either the good or the evil, to return back, from where the human spirit comes – to God, and to meet the destiny – the eternity, either with God or without God. It means that the general knowledge, which describes the world of which men should have dominion {Genesis 1:26–28}, is engraved into the essence of human being.

To sustain repetitions of the life–cycles, there also should be knowledge arranged into the transferrable from generation to generation pool of data and information and the set of the patterns of thinking and actions, from which newcomers would assemble their particular visions of the world, and with which they would build their life.

So, since the beginning, the earthly existence of men and human establishments can be described with the same sets of patterns of thinking, actions, and their consequences. One set of patterns describes the cognition of the good; another set of patterns describes the cognition of the evil.

The knowledge of good never left the earth; Adam and Eve exiled from the Paradise brought at least some memory of the beginning into the world cursed for the sin of man. The knowledge of the good was transferred from father to son: even in the heathen world of idol–worshipers, the wise and chosen ones served true God {Genesis 3:23–24; 4:1–7, 26; 6:5–9; 12:1–4; 14:18–20; 17:1–8}.

Moses the Prophet left description of two patterns – the good and the evil – that define life of men and the world of men {Deuteronomy 27:1–26; 28:1–68; 30:5–20}. Since, these patterns never were altered; they become the inevitable reality of each human being and all his creations and establishments (family, nation, state, empire, etc.):

violations of the Law of God – sins and iniquities – are followed with

wars, disasters, famine, drought, flood, and other “natural” or manifestly man–made disasters

those, who observe the Law of God, follow the good, and the good is their portion

In addition to the general patterns, all human beings have the same set of tools – the time, the space, the matter, the same terms – the Law/will of God, the same criteria of evaluation – the good and the evil, the same purposes, and the same ways to achieve them. It is not in the power of man to undo whatever has been done, to unlearn whatever has been cognized, to erase thoughts, words, and deeds from own memory and from the memory of the others.  Apparently, the human life is irreversible*E1*:

nobody can change the Past – its material arrangement does not exist anymore

nobody is able to prevent the consequences of the Past in the Present – the material arrangement of the Past is the material basis,

on which the Present comes into being

nobody can change the Future – it rises on the material arrangement of the Present

The law of irreversibility of cognition and the law of irreversibility of the matter are the constant part of the laws with which the temporal world of men is built.

When the ancient heathen philosophers came to understanding of the phenomenon of irreversibility, they invented a special deity: the inexorable Fate, the embodiment of the power that keeps everyone in his very own inferno of fixed destiny as a slave is kept in fetters by his ruthless owner. They imagined their world as the flux – the stream of changes that creates life, yet, their reality was the dark cage of prisoners without true knowledge of the world and, firstly, without knowledge of freedom.

In the heathen world*E2*, the destiny is inexorable indeed, because if there is no knowledge of the Law of God – the main Law that defines the human nature, each thought and each action might violate the Law. The violations of the Law lead to the perversion of the nature, that is to suffering, mental and physical illness, disorders of all kinds, and premature death. The way of the evil is the same for everyone and it has the same stages and the same end; nothing can be changed, because the main pattern of the evil always is unvarying:

Starting with Moses, the Prophets not only diagnosed the symptoms and omens of the coming disasters, wars, plagues, and other calamities; they told the reason, why the grief and suffering would come {e.g., The Book of Jeremiah}.

For instance, Isaiah the Prophet left the concise description of the Past, Present, and the Future of the earth, which will be ruined for the sins of her inhabitants, because they broke the everlasting covenant and served the evil instead of God. He also mentions the same two patterns that are the essence of the world and that are completed in two different ways: one that is concluded with ruin, destruction, and collapse and another leading to salvation {Isaiah 24:1–21; 26:1–15}.

So, in the world of those who are given the knowledge of God, the choice is possible.

Any human mind that is born into the world without God, in fact, has no choice: all that it can learn, contemplate, invent, comprehend, create – everything is evil or serves the evil; there is no exit from the realm of the evil, and there is no knowledge that other realms exist.

The essence of the heathen world and the meaning of life within such a world might be inferred from Isaiah the Prophet’s writings concerning those who commit iniquities (e.g., idol–worshipers, heathens, apostates): they live in ignorance, and they are unable to understand why and from where all disasters come: they are as the blind who feel the wall, who feel at noon as at midnight. While they expect enlightenment, they walk in perplexity; their ways are destruction and misery. They are misled, so they may be devoured {Isaiah 9:12–16; 59:4–10}.

The same description might be applied to those who are born as the heathens and do not know true God: the ignorance does not protect from consequences of deeds committed in ignorance.

In general, cognition of the evil, violations of the Law of God, and the inevitable consequences (suffering and death of men, destruction and collapse of their establishments) are the most frequently observed realities.

Probably, the most tragic part of the history of mankind is the inability to connect the cause with the consequences. People understand, for instance, that the current vehicles (car, train) do not run without energy (oil, electricity). In the same time, they are unable to see that the world cannot exist without the divine energy of God; this energy comes only through those who live according to the Law/will of God:

– the curse, which the earth has to suffer because of iniquities of men, is visible and its consequences are known; it began with the original sin and entered the world of men with the first murder. Under this curse, the people live within the insufficient world, in which the fruits of the earth and fruits of men (thoughts, words, actions) can bear poison, evil, and death; the world, within which man – already deprived from the power of God – is unable to accept the life–sustaining power of the earth and had to complete his existence in groaning and trembling {Genesis 3:18–20; 4:8–12; Matthew 12:33–35; Luke 6:43–45}

– the material signs of blessing of those who live according to the Law of God, that is according to the human nature, became the rare occasion; they are almost unknown in the Present defined by devastation of unceasing wars and issuing poverty, plagues of mental and physical disorders, crimes, and insufficiency of all kinds. Yet, not many are able to see the inner peace received from God {John 14:27}.

With each passing day, the world sinks deeper and deeper into despair; all attempts to resolve crises, to prevent famines, wars, conflicts, genocides, and other calamities seem to be hopeless: it looks like the inexorable Fate of ancient heathens became the decision–maker in many lands, states, nations…

However, human life is not restricted by the world of the matter and its values: even when this world, which became the embodiment of knowledge of the evil, meets its end, life will continue for those saved by Lord God Jesus Christ {1 Peter 1:14–25; 2 Peter 3:7–15; Revelation 21:1–5}.

Thousands of years ago, when only insignificant part of mankind was given the Law of God, when the chosen nation was surrounded by the darkness of the heathen world, Isaiah promised something new, that did not exist in the cyclical inexorable Past of Ecclesiastes: the great Light would overcome those living in the shadow of death and they would be set free {Isaiah 9:2–4; 1 Peter 1:10}.

Isaiah spoke of the Messiah, the Savior Who would take on Himself the sins of the world, reconcile man to God, and give man the authority to become the child of God; he foresaw the coming of God Who would break the vicious circle of the evil and death, set His creations free, and open the way to the Homeland, to the Kingdom of God, into the new world without memory of the past evil, which will be born after the trial of man is complete and the evil is no more. So, this prophecy was embodied into the actual life of Christians: the Word–God became flesh, and fulfilled the promise of salvation. He gave mortal prisoner the authority to become an immortal and free child of God, to accomplish the breakthrough from the fixed stagnant world of evil and death into the unlimited eternal Kingdom of God. When He, the Word–God, became Man, He broke the wall of ancient prison of evil, which separated man from God; He annihilated the enmity of man to God, and through death on the cross, He reconciled man to God. He gave His followers the faith, which is stronger than death, and the power to overcome the world of evil; He opened them the knowledge that is the eternal life – the knowledge of God the Father and Jesus Christ Whom He sent. His power creates a human child of God and enables him to become the dwelling of the Holy Spirit of God, the living temple of the Living God {John 1:1–5, 9–18; 3:16–18; 14:1–10, 20–26; 15:1–5; 17; 1 Peter 1:2–25; 2:9–10;  1 John 5:3–13; Ephesians 2:1–22; 3:14–21; Revelation 21:3–4; 22:3–4}.

And I think that one of the main differences between the heathenism and true knowledge of God is hope.

The heathenism*E2* spreads restriction, insufficiency, and degeneration of perversion; its essence is slavery*E3* and hatred: hatred to God and hatred to man who is created in image and after likeness of God. The only freedom it allows is the freedom of corruption, promiscuity, and vice. Everything in the heathen world carries the curse of ignorance and corruption –

starting with philosophy, which justifies slavery and bestialization of man

through the politics – the political organization and power of coercion intended to enslave men, to deprive them of decency,

and to sacrifice their life and happiness for any idol

finishing with the cults of snakes, political and religious leaders, and other beasts and idols in animal and human shape,

which are born by perverted imagination, established on lies and deceit, and are fed with human sacrifices

The heathen world is finite, flat, unchangeable, and hopeless: its essence is death*E4*, it exists by murdering and devouring living beings, it tolerates only those who carry death within, and it ends with death.

The true knowledge of God gives hope. Whatever the material conditions of life are, the faith gives understanding of their true essence (temporal arrangement of the insufficient dissipating world of the evil) and focuses the mind on the Future world to come (infinite indestructible eternal Kingdom, in which God will dwell with His creations). There is only one Way to this world – Lord God Jesus Christ, the Word–God Who is the Truth, the Light, the Life…”

*E1* Irreversibility is impossibility to stop, decelerate, reverse, or interrupt the interminable purposeful transformations of the energy and processes of cognition governed by the universal law. Irreversibility in its exact meaning – impossibility to reverse a process – manifests itself when the structured matter is enabled to carry and to absorb the purposeful information. In other words, irreversibility is the inseparable feature of the matter, which was structured for the achievement of a purpose.

The law of irreversibility of cognition controls the dimension of time; without irreversibility of cognition, the optimization and development as the increase of mind’s complexity are not possible (the increase of complexity is the development, also referred to as optimization and evolution).

The law of irreversibility determines the possibility to accomplish the purposes, thus to achieve finality–definiteness of the results consistent with the system’s nature and assumed–created–conveyed knowledge.

In accordance with the law of irreversibility of cognition, once learned knowledge does not perish, it sustains expansion: the knowledge of the good leads to the perfection; the knowledge of the evil with each new generation demands more sacrifices and consumes more lives and resources.

Within the wholeness of the human mind, knowledge, complexity, and time–space dimensions are unified by the law of irreversibility of cognition, which sustains advancement of the mind – either on the way of development–evolution (cognition and actualization of the good) or on the way of degeneration–perversion/anti–evolution (cognition and actualization of the evil).
