Memories of the Past

 

…and through all night and day, among the hills and among the tombs,

he was crying and cutting himself with stones…

{Mark 5:5}

 

There was a man with an unclean spirit in the country of Gadarenes, in other side of the sea; he wandered among the hills and dwelt among the tombs (μνημασι memorial, monument, tomb–stone). So powerful was the unclean spirit, which possessed this man, that none was able to subdue him, even with chains and fetters. All days and nights he was crying and cutting himself with stones; neither rest nor comfort could come to him. When he saw Lord Jesus Christ coming out from the boat, he ran and bowed his knee to Him, and the unclean spirit within man cried with a great voice and implored the Lord: “Jesus, Son of the Most High, I adjure You by God, do not torment me.” The unclean spirit told that there were many of them – legion – within the man and begged the Lord do not send them outside the country, yet, to send them into the great herd of swine, which was feeding nearby. And the Lord God commanded the unclean spirits to come out of the man, however, He also allowed them to stay in the country and to enter into the herd of swine as the unclean spirits begged. The man possessed by demons was healed; he even asked the Lord to be with Him, yet, the Lord sent him to his house in Decapolis, to his own people, to announce them what God did to him {Mark 5:1–20}.

And I think that in the time of suffering and tribulation, if the faith and hope leave us, we become as demoniacs possessed with uncleanness of unbelief that rejected the love of God. In fog of depression and gloom of hopelessness, we wander through the desert of loneliness, among the tombs–memories of the Past. We are crying our heart out cutting ourselves with the memories of those who loved us. We recollect the lost friends, setbacks, losses, and unfulfilled expectations, as well as the evil and suffering, which we inflicted onto the others. With the stones of fruitless regrets, we deepen our wounds and multiply our sorrows. Our obsession with the past, especially, with the memory of own failures and ruthlessness to those who we perceived as enemies, makes us unable to kneel before our Lord and Savior and beg Him for mercy: to heal our soul and to give us the power to live.

The only memory, which might help in such a time, is the memory of the mercy of God. The Holy Gospels all are about love and mercy of God Who is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort {John 14:15–18, 26; 15:26; 2 Corinthians 1:3}: God is merciful to anyone and everyone – even the unclean spirits, which made life of man of Gadarenes miserable, were given that what they asked {Matthew 5:43–48; Mark 5:10–13}.

We need always to remember that nothing in the world is able to separate us, the Christians, from love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Nothing happens without the will of God: even the hairs of head are all numbered. Each ordeal endured with faith and perseverance fosters spiritual strengths preparing for the eternity {Matthew 10:29–31; James 1:2–25; 5:7–11; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 2; 4:1–19; Romans 8:28, 35–39; 2 Corinthians 1:2–5; 4:6–18; Malachi 3:1–3}.

Nothing ever happens, which ultimately would not serve our salvation. Each illness, misfortune, disease, failure, loss of things we held to be precious or meaningful could lead us further: it might enable us to re–evaluate our priorities, to become strong and wise, to be more attentive to sorrows of the others, to re–consider our life, to meet the new dawn, and, after the darkness of yesterday, to discover the Light over new horizons of tomorrow.

There is only one Protection from the powers of the world that serves the arch–evil, the only Hope, the only Light in the darkness, the only Truth in the world that lives by false knowledge and lies, the only Cure from diseases of body and madness of the mind, the only Freedom for the slavery of the mind and spirit, the only Bread of the eternity: the Perfect and Almighty Love of God – Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, the Creator, Deliverer, Redeemer, and the Savior {John 1:1–18; 3:16–21; 6:26–69; 10; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Psalm 17(18); 90(91); 106(107)}…

The Sinful Heart, the Desolate House, the Wasted Land

 

 

…a sinful nation, a people full of sins, an evil seed, lawless children, who have forsaken the Lord…

From the feet to the head, there is no soundness in them…

Your land is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your land – strangers devour it in your presence,

and it is made desolate, overthrown by strange nations…

{Isaiah 1:4, 6, 7}

 

…the earth shall be completely laid waste…

…they have transgressed the law, and changed the ordinances, the everlasting covenant.

Therefore a curse shall consume the earth…

…the dwellers in the earth shall be poor, and few men shall be left…

{Isaiah 24:3, 4}

 

…I have abandoned My house…

…I have given My beloved one into the hands of enemies…

{Jeremiah 12:7}

 

 

Five years ago I posted The Desolate House*1* @ my website Sunday’s Thoughts – some thoughts concerning the evils, which come when the people reject God, forsake the law of God, and subsequently,  transform their establishments (societies, states, religious, political, educational, and research institutions) into the tools of injustice and destruction. Some have forgotten the simple truth that the arch–evil was the murderer of men from the first {John 8:44}: it poisons and debilitates human reasoning with the false knowledge, enslaves, destroys, and ultimately kills/consumes human beings. All these powers of the arch–evil as well as its very existence have been initiated by the original sin of man {Genesis 3}. Hence, the history of mankind became a description of the uninterrupted chain of cycles of annihilation, which all follow the same pattern:

disobedience to God and rejection of His law*2*

consequent acceptance of the lies and false knowledge as truth

consequent ultimate ruin*3*

 

The indicators of the ultimate ruin – the “curses” that fall upon those who reject God, violate the law of God, and consequently, pervert own nature making themselves incapable of life and unable to survive – were predicted by Moses in the time of the law–giving. Then, they were confirmed by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, as the beginning of the final encounter with the arch–evil {Genesis 3; Deuteronomy 28; 30; John 8:39–45; Matthew 24:3–51; Mark 13:2–37; Luke 21:6–36}.

The Old Testament’s prophets who knew the nature of the world*4*, the human nature, and the nature of things {see Genesis; Exodus; Deuteronomy; Isaiah; Ezekiel; Hosea; Zephaniah; Haggai; Zacharias; and other Books of the Old Testament} left the detail descriptions of “the roots and the fruits” –

 

the roots:

rejection of God and violations of the law of God

↓ 

the fruits:

↓    ↓    ↓

1/ loss of abilities of right discernment, reasoning, and judgment

↓   

2/ apostasy, corruption, and crimes of people

who become idol–worshipers and apostates, and who therefore pervert own nature

and doom own establishments to the ruin and themselves to death

↓   

3/ collapse and annihilation of the corrupted societies, kingdoms, and other establishments

↓ 

4/ suffering, calamities, and ultimately, annihilation–death of men.

 

The world entered into the advanced stage of collapse, when the ingredients that compose the wholeness of life – human reasoning/judgment, human actions, human establishments, and environment/earth – are unable to function according to their nature and therefore are unable to sustain

a/ normal existence of human establishments (families, societies, states, nations, political, social, religious, educational, and research institutions)

b/ survival of human establishments

c/ development–evolution of human beings and their establishments.

With the current state of affairs (especially, the state of the mind of the many), there cannot be justified expectations of prosperity, development, and even existence of humane and just societies, as well as the end of genocidal and fratricidal wars and coming of peace in the long–suffering lands of Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

The many who still believe in the good tomorrows do not take into consideration the warning of God that the good and the evil do not come from the same source. They transformed their heart–mind into the source of evil pouring out the uncleanness, lies, hatred, and enmity; they believe in the forecasts made with the simplified models and with the logic of simplification; thus, they imagine that eventually sound reasoning and some abstract “common good” will prevail, while there is no place left for reasoning, conscience, any good in those who live by false beliefs that demand murder and justify any evil inflicted onto human beings–creations of God. Murderers, haters, criminals who enslave and oppress human beings – whoever they are and whatever reasons they use for justification of their crimes – serve the arch–evil and therefore, do not have place for God within them {John 8:42–47; 1 John 2:7–11; 3}.

The groundless expectations of the leaders and politicians who are not capable of containing the unleashed evils cast them down at the level of primitive ancient heathens, which attributed magic power to the drawings on the walls of the caves, believed that prosperity, health, and good can be brought in with magic words and sticks, human and animal sacrifices, tricks, lies, and deceit, with which the ancient diviners defrauded and ultimately destroyed their clientele.

If the one with the unbiased mind reads the Books of the Old Testament prophets, he could infer that the precision of the ancient description is striking {e.g., Deuteronomy 28; 30; Isaiah; Jeremiah; Ezekiel; Hosea; Zephaniah 2; 3}:

1/ many lands of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia have become the unhealed deadly wound, the place of destruction and devastation where the arch–evil feeds itself with the human flesh and blood

2/ corruption and devastation at the spiritual level is consuming the Western civilization and especially the European countries, and especially those, which proudly proclaimed themselves to be the “godless nations”; the physical destruction also entered the visible stage and it will advance, because the physical destruction comes over those who have no power to survive and there is none to protect them from the ruin:

 

they rejected God and have forgotten His  laws

their core – heart–mind–intelligence – is rotten

they already have lost the power over own societies and life–protecting institutions

they have been delivered into the hands of their new and ruthless masters for slavery, destruction, and annihilation:

their children are corrupted by the foreigners, their reserves are eaten by newcomers–enemies

 

their lands are polluted, because of their inability to think and to create things that sustain life not ruin it,

and devastated with the natural disasters (wildfires, storms, flooding, drought, tornadoes, tsunamis, and so on)

their heart is empty; darkness and perplexity is their lot:

they cannot find true knowledge and they are incapable of wisdom

because of their iniquities, they have neither happiness nor peace of mind

whatever they earn and have they waste, or lose, or unable to enjoy, or have to give up

their life is made miserable by constant crises, recessions, poverty, conflicts, unrest, epidemics

they have no dignity, no freedom, no true liberties,

because they – for their rejection of God – have no place for God within them,

thus, they live without love and mercy, under the curse of Cain,

as slaves under the total surveillance and as the sheep that are doomed for slaughter:

through their sins and corruption, they became enslaved by the arch–evil,

they turned themselves into the animated dust–food of the arch–evil,

 and ultimately, might share its destiny

{Genesis 3:15; 4:8–11; John 3:36; 8:34–36; 1 John 3:10–15; Revelation 20:14–15; 21:8; 22:15}

 

Nor survival nor happiness nor progress nor development/evolution nor decent life may ever be possible without knowledge of God and observance of His law; those who understand that begin the ascent to God; those who do not understand that accelerate their plunge into the darkness of the eternal separation from God.

For the people of the contemporary civilizations, which are cast into the darkness of ancient heathen world and enslaved by the arch–evil, there is no hope on survival and liberation until they analyze their present and their future (which is very easily predictable at the current stage of collapse), reflect on their ways of life, politics, goals and expectations, methods and means, reevaluate their priorities, and turn back to God.

For the Christians, this enormously difficult problem is already solved, because they live by the words of Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God: the life of their mind is protected by the Word–God, their judgment is formed by the Word–God, and their soul–heart–mind is the dwelling of the Almighty God {John 6:28–69; 10; 14; 15; 16; 17; Psalms 17(18); 90(91); 118(119)}.

Therefore, the Christians know that the true religion neither demands nor justifies any evil inflicted upon a human being created in image and after likeness of God. Although the main natural law of inviolability of human life {Genesis 9:5–6; Exodus 20:15; Matthew 5:17–18; 7:12; 18:14} is forgotten by the many, it was not annulled and it will never be annulled for any normal human being who lives and thinks and acts according to the human nature created by the One Almighty Perfect and Merciful God. As the Lord said {Matthew 12:33–35; Luke 6:43–45}, the tree is known by its fruit: there is no good tree that would bring the bad fruit. Thus, there cannot be good and evil from one source; it means that if man speaks of God, yet, murders creations of God – there is no God in him: he, in fact, is the evil one that serves the arch–evil, which was the murderer of man from the first {John 8:44; 1 John 3:7–15}.

The history of Western civilization illustrates the greatest evil unleashed by those who covered their crimes with the name of Lord Jesus Christ: the crusades, the terror and atrocities of the inquisition, the religious wars, persecutions of the different–minded, forceful conversions into the papal heresy, abuse of children, and other shameful deeds  committed by the members of the papal establishment*5*, which is headed by the prefect of the inquisition/pope who pretends to be the substitute of God, vicar of Lord Jesus Christ on the earth.  

All these unspeakable evils

a/ began with the frivolous interpretations of the words of God

b/ were followed with the subsequent loss of the ability to comprehend the truth

c/ advanced because of disregard for the warning of the apostles of God concerning false prophets and philosophy {2 Peter 2; Colossians 2:8–10}.

After the pope accepted the Augustine’s Filioque, the Great Schism became irreconcilable, because the papacy directed the Church of Rome at the heathenism*6*. Eventually, the papacy

1/ changed for itself and its subjects The Nicean Creed – the universal testimony of Christian faith that cannot be changed, if the one continues to be a Christian – by transforming it into The Creed of the Roman Catholic Church, which includes Augustine’s Filioque

2/ accepted policies and methods of the heathen Roman Empire, with which the papacy expected to gain the unreserved secular power and to accomplish its quest for the world–wide domination, and which made possible the Crusades, the inquisition, forceful conversion, and religious wars and persecutions

3/ accepted as its official doctrine the Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology based on heathen*6* philosophical doctrines of Plato and Aristotle, which are derived of the Orphism – the heathen serpentine theology that sustains numerous cults of the arch–evil in images of “absolute divine animal” – serpent/dragon, and other reptiles and beasts  

4/ deprived the papal laity of the Chalice of Salvation – the Holy Communion with two elements: bread and the fruit of vine – the greatest and holiest tradition of the Christians, because it is given by Lord God Jesus Christ Himself

5/ burned people alive for their loyalty to God and rejection of the papal heresy, which contradicts the Gospels and the words of God, as it happened, for instance, with the Bohemian priest Jan Hus*7* whose the only “crime” and the only “heresy” was literal following to the Christian teachings.

The entire history of the papal church confirms that the Roman Catholic Church ceased its existence as the Christian Church and was transformed into the heretical Aristotle–Aquinas’ quasi–religious establishment*5* [[known also as papal church of Rome, the papal empire, Vatican, etc.]]. Such transformation made unification with the papal establishment*8* impossible for any Church that carries the Name of Christ and continues to be the Christian Church devoted to Christianity – monotheistic religion based on faith in the Only One True God explained by His Son, Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God {John; esp. John 1:1–18; 10:30; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

It seems that the greatest problem of mankind is false religions, which masquerade themselves with the Name of God, yet use His Name to justify crimes against His creations.

A Christian evaluates the truth of each religion through consideration of the deeds of those who proclaim themselves to be the true believers. As St. James the Apostle says {James 2:13–26}, judgment without mercy to those who have no mercy, and faith is dead apart of work. So, the deeds of man and his attitude toward the others reveal the essence of his faith.

As a Christian, I know that salvation to the world is given through Lord Jesus Christ: only in observance of the law of God – love to God and love to the creations of God revealed and explained and accomplished by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God {Exodus 20:1–17; Leviticus 19:17–18; Deuteronomy 6:5–6; 10:12–13; Micah 6:6–8; Matthew 5:17–48; 6; 7; 22:36–40; Mark 12:29–31; Luke 10:27–37; John 3:16–21; 6:28–69; 10; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John} – is the last hope of mankind...

“The Desolate House

…I have abandoned My house…

…I have given My beloved one into the hands of enemies…

…your house is left to you desolate…

{Luke 13:35}

 

The Prophets lament the plight of the chosen nation – God has forsaken His people, and explain why it happened. After God gave food and the people were filled, they forgot their Shepherd. God’s Own inheritance – His own people – have become to Him as a lion, as hyena’s cave. So, let all wild beasts of the land come and devoir those who left their God {Jeremiah 12:7–9; Hosea 13:6}.

It happened many times in the history of ancient Israel: for revolt against God, for idol–worship, and for violation of the Law, the people were handed over to their enemies.

Then, Lord God Jesus Christ evoked the image of desolated house abandoned by its Owner, when He mentions those who have abandoned God. He tells about the house that had been cleaned, the evil gone, yet, the house stays empty. Then, the enemies come back, in multiplied numbers, and the current evil is greater than the past affliction {Luke 11:15–26; 13:34–35}.

If the Word–God does not live within man, such a man becomes the empty soul, the desolate house, which anything can enter.

So, what happens when God abandons His house – the soul of man, or the entire nation, as, for instance, it was in the times of the Old Testament?

The human civilization began with the revelation of God to the people, when the Law – The Ten Commandments – was granted; the end of human civilization is deprivation of the knowledge of God and disregard of the Law, which defines the nature of men*2*. The Prophets described the end; it has the following indications:

–– the abominable became the beloved

–– there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God

–– even if there is famine for hearing of the Word of God, the knowledge of God cannot be found

–– the land is filled with divination, idols, and abominations

–– humans bowed down and man is humbled: there will not be forgiveness for that

–– where the righteousness dwelt, murderers are

–– there are cursing, lying, murder, adultery, theft

–– the faithful city, which was full of judgment before, became a harlot

–– the rulers are the rebellious, the companions of thieves loving bribes and seeking after rewards

–– the priests and prophets are defiled and corrupted; they walk in lies; they have broken their covenant with God and caused many to fall; they defiled the portion of God (that is God’s people they were entrusted to lead to the knowledge and righteous life) and made it ruined and desolate; so, they will become despised and cast out among the people

–– the prophets prophesy by idols, they walk in lie and strengthen hands of the many so that they shall not return from their evil ways; they lead people away from God

–– people eat, yet, they are not satisfied; they prostitute without profit

–– the silver (money) is worthless

–– even if they bring up children, they are utterly bereaved – they give up their children for a prey and to be slaughtered

–– their power is for plunder, and their houses are for utter desolation; they shell build houses, yet, they will be uninhabitable

–– from the feet to the head there is no soundness in people

–– the land is desolate, houses are burned with fire, no flesh has any peace

–– strangers devour their land in their presence {Isaiah 1:2–7; 21–23; 2:6–9; Jeremiah 12:10–12; 23:11–13; Hosea 4:2, 10; 9:10–13; Amos 8:11–12; Sophonias 1:13; Malachi 2:7–9}.

And I think that with each passing day, the daily news digest begins to look more and more like the descriptions of sins and punishments from the Books of the Old Testament Prophets. For instance, only personal names would make a difference between the Past and the Present if to substitute

–– scientists and analysts (who with their models assumed the role of forecasters capable of predicting the Future of the contemporary societies) – for “prophets”

–– politicians of all ranks – congressmen, MP, PM, presidents, kings, etc. –– for “rulers”

–– the contemporary titles of clergy –– for “priests.”

The striking detail is prediction of humiliation of human nature {Isaiah 2:9}, which will not be forgiven. Indeed, who now is more despised as humans are, when everything is allowed – capital punishment, body–mutilating laws, human trafficking, organ harvesting, abortions, human embryos harvesting and killing for “scientific” research, likening of humans to rodents and other laboratory animals, propaganda and manipulation with false information, fraud, bestiality, pedophilia, other kinds of perversion, and so on – everything is in the news. The people are handed over into the power of their worst enemies, to name a few – oppressive regimes, corrupted politicians, defiled and corrupted priests, obsessed with lust for money and power preachers, false and poisonous knowledge of ethics–free sciences, ruthless Aristotelian democracies of social animals, perverted public education. There is no memory that a human being is created into the image and after likeness of God: humans are treated as animals, behave as reasonless animals, treat each other as beasts, and are slaughtered as animals.

The medical institutions, which are armed with the drugs developed for the rodents and with psychological assumptions inferred from observation of laboratory rats, struggle with autism, Alzheimer’s disease, mental disorders, dementia, cancers, and other killers of men. Yet, there is no recognition that all these diseases as well as suicides, domestic violence, bullying, and mistreatment of humans and animals are the consequences of incompatibility of the human nature and the conditions of existence: the roots of everything are in the soul, yet, the soul is neither a subject of atheistic ethic–free sciences nor the matter of concern for the politically correct politicians. The employees of contemporary religious establishments have no ability to heal, which every ancient priest had; their main concern is money they are able to extract from the laity – the sheep.

Regarding famine for the hearing of the Word of God: political correctness already deprived contemporary societies from knowledge and reverence for God. Bigots, atheists, and perverts of all kinds demand annihilation of every mention of God and His Law from governments, courts, media, public schools, and libraries.

After processes under the collective name “ecumenism”*8* are competed, when the leaders of the Greek Orthodox Church recognize Catholicism or Aristotle–Aquinas political theology*9* as the Christianity and the Pope–Prefect of Inquisition*5* as the authority in the matters of Christian faith, when they – making themselves idol–worshipers – kneel before the Roman Pope and kiss his shoe, the evil will be complete:

–– the Greek Orthodox Church, which during all the centuries after the Great Schism and then, after the fall of Byzantium*10*, kept the Christian teachings, will cease to exist

–– the Christian teachings will be replaced with Aristotle–Aquinas political theology – that is with the heathenism

–– the Bible will be replaced with “politically correct” list of praises to pope, slogans, and “prayers” intended to keep the laity obedient

–– the people will be fed with the images and phantoms constructed by the political theologians

–– pedophilia, masochism, and other perversions will become the signs of sainthood, therefore, the norm and example to follow for the laity

–– the churches will become the desolate houses, even if they are filled with attendants covered with the signs of cross who sometimes use the word “god”

–– and so on…

            Nevertheless, even if Christianity will again become forbidden, it will remain the secret, yet precious, knowledge of the few preserved by God; although it will not be found in official churches, it will live within the chosen ones as it lived in the Desert Fathers and in the humble men who are known as the apostles of Lord God Jesus Christ.

We know that today God Himself keeps His inheritance safe as He did it in the Past. Only by the mercy of God knowledge and truth are preserved and the earth still exists. God always dwelt, is dwelling, and will dwell in His Own house – the soul, which is born of God {John 1:1–4, 12–13; 3:3–7}: we, the Christians, know our Future promised by God {Isaiah 66:1–2, 22; Revelation 21:3–4, 22; 22:3–4}…”

Regarding the Great Schism, it could be said that the processes of corruption of faith and substitution of the dreams of the heathen philosophy for the words of God triggered off the Great Schism. These processes indicated the war, which the heathen waged against Christianity soon after it became the official religion of the Roman Empire. The first indications of the Great Schism can be traced to the sixth century, to the opposition between the Patriarchs of Constantinople and the Bishops/popes of Rome who began their quest for the absolute power and authority over all Christendom: in 590, the 64th Roman pope Gregory I (590–604) openly asserted the claim on papal absolutism [in: Trager, James. The People’s Chronology: A Year–by–Year Record of Human Events from Prehistory to the Present. Rev. ed. A Henry Holt Reference Book. New York: Henry Holt, 1992, pg. 57].

Acceptance of Augustine’s Filioque as a change of the Nicean Creed and the consequent papal decree with anathema (excommunication for heresy), which the papacy issued against the Constantinople’s Church and Patriarch in 1054 because of their rejection of Filioque, had sealed separation of the West and East Churches and put the finishing touch on the catastrophe of the Great Schism.

The Great Schism as the deep division between the Christian Church of Constantinople and the papal Church of Rome came to its zenith in 1204, after the sack of Constantinople accompanied with destruction of the Christian Churches and mass slaughter of the Greek Christians by the papal Crusaders.

In fact, the Great Schism marked the beginning of separate existence of two irreconcilable theological systems:

1/ Christianity – the original teachings of Lord God Jesus Christ preserved and professed by the Catholic Apostolic (Orthodox) Church

2/ the papal church of Rome (referred to as the Roman Catholicism or Catholicism), which later accepted Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology based on the heathen philosophy as the official doctrine of the church of Rome, canonized Thomas Aquinas, and elevated him at the rank of the main theologian.

During the centuries following the destruction of the Byzantine Empire and establishment of the Islamic Caliphate in Constantinople and adjacent lands, almost all physical foundation of the Christian Church (churches, monasteries, academies, schools, and libraries) was ruined. Within the territories under the Muslim authorities, many Christians paid by their lives for dissemination of the Christian teachings, rejection of conversion into Islam, even for wearing the Cross and following the Christian manner of life; many children were snatched from the Christian families (to prevent them becoming Christians as their parents are) and sold into slavery, often in harems: girls to become concubines, and boys to become eunuchs – guardians of the harems.

The European nations came under the “absolute” authority of the papal church of Rome, and the papal Empire designed after the Roman Empire’s blueprint, subdued almost all European nations. The Christian teachings had been barbarically misinterpreted and falsified with Platonic–Gnostic–Origen and Aristotelian–Manichean–Augustinian–Aquinas heresies, which the papal theologians asserted as the articles of the papal faith. Then, the crimes against humanity committed by the Inquisition and by the papal subjects during the Crusades, religious wars, and persecutions of the schismatics, heretics and the different–minded were sacrilegiously ascribed to the teachings of Christ. As a result, now, the vast majority of global population either identifies Christianity with the papal faith – Catholicism or –– because of the history of corruption and crimes committed by the papacy and the papal subjects –– discards it entirely with hatred, disgust, and mockery.

The Point of No Return 

 

…I am the Lord thy God,

Who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Thou shall have no other gods beside Me…

{Exodus 20:2–3}

 

…Thou shall have no other gods before My face…

{Deuteronomy 5:7}

 

…because thou did not serve the Lord thy God with gladness and a good mind

for abundance of all things…

…thou shall serve thy enemies, which the Lord shall sent forth against thee,

in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in the want of all things…

…And the Lord shall bring thee back to Egypt, in ships,

by the way of which I previously said that you shall not see it again,

 and you shall be subjected to the enemies as bondmen and bondwomen…

{Deuteronomy 28:47, 48, 68}

 

 

 

The Holy Scriptures – The Books of the Old Testament and The New Testament – convey the words spoken by God; these words are the Absolute Truth for the Christians who live by the words of God.

At the first moment of human civilization, which has commenced with the revelation of the law of God and establishment of God the Law–giver as the Absolute Authority and the only One God for the people, God said: Ουκ εσονται σοι θεοι ετεροι πλην Εμου - Thou shall have no other gods beside Me {Exodus 20:3}.

Then, Moses implored God to reveal Himself to him*1*, so he would comprehend that he cognized God; so he and the people would find favor before Him {Exodus 33:13, 16}. In response for Moses’ prayer, God granted to him the exceptional revelation and encounter in the time of the law–giving; He also warned Moses that man shall not see the face of God and live {Exodus 33:13–23; 34:1–10}. Still, Moses has perceived the Glory of God, God knew him, and God spoke to him “face to face,” mouth to mouth, by the means of cognition, by presence to presence {ενωπιος ενωπιω;  στομα  κατα  στομα  λαλησω αυτω εν ειδει; προσωπον  κατα  προσωπον  – Exodus 33:11; Numbers 12:8; Deuteronomy 34:10}.

While Moses stood between the Lord and the people (because they were afraid of the fire out of the midst of which God spoke to them), he reported to them the words of God saying:

Ουκ εσονται σοι θεοι ετεροι προ προσωπον Μου  – Thou shall have no other gods before My face {Deuteronomy 5:7}.

This commandment is followed with prohibition of idol–worship {Exodus 20:4–6}: the one should neither make idols nor bow down and serve them.

The word εσονται [[in ουκ εσονται translated as “shall have no”]] conveys more complicated meaning than just simply “have”: εσονται is a derivative of  εζων    ←  ζαω (live), which originates the cluster of words defining existence: to live, to be in power, to be acting, to be real; for instance,  ζωη / ζοη  – life, οι  ζωντες  – the living ones,  ζωπονεω – to make as alive,  ζωφυτος – life-creating. Hence, the meaning of ουκ εσονται should be translated as do not make as alive/real, do not endow with the power: people are not expected to create [[establish/accept as the actuality]] their “gods” by endowing things with the power that exists only in their imagination and to serve their own creations before the Only True God the Creator.  

Indeed, the essence of idol–making is exactly the act of endowing of the man–made/imagined thing with the power over the maker – the one who made/imagined it and the ones who bow made–made/imagined thing and worship it.

When an idol–maker creates idols*2*, he envisions/imagines and accepts as real and powerful that something, which, in fact, neither exists at all nor has power.

Moses elaborated the meaning of idol–making as creating carved images, statues, and other means of depiction of any likeness of any being (male, female, dwellers of the land, sea, and air), heavenly bodies (sun moon, stars) and any of material things, with which man attempts to materialize the image of God the Spirit Who has no analogue in the world of the material things {Exodus 20:4–6; Deuteronomy 4:12–24; 5:8–10}.

Moses, Isaiah and other prophets {Deuteronomy 4:12–24; 5:8–10; 32:15–18; 28–33; 4 Kings 21:1–11; Isaiah 2:8–9; 44:9–20; 46:1–12; 59:2–15; Ezekiel 8:6–17; Hosea 4} provided the complete description of idol–making, idol–worship – apostasy*3*, and their consequences.

So, before making material objects, man creates an image in his mind/imagination*4*: figment of imagination is the essence of any idol and any “other god”. If man creates an idol and then, begins to believe that the product of his mind/hands is the reality, accepts it as a holder of the power, bows before it, and serves it, it means that such a man became an idol–worshiper, because he has ascribed possession of the power/life to the figment of his imagination materialized into an item produced by human hands (carved image, pictures, etc.) and made after likeness of existing or imagined being/thing/idea. The moment/point when the mind transforms own creation/image/idol into the actuality of own existence, that is when it begins to believe into own dream/figment of imagination as into truth, is the moment/point of no return: the mind cuts itself from the natural connections with God and thus, from the living ones, and as the dried leaf under wind drifts into oblivion.

Usually, the idol–making process and establishment–endowing with the power [[εσονται]] of the idols as “other gods” is completed with sacrifice of human or other living beings {Deuteronomy 32:17; Psalm 105(106):34–40}: by shedding blood of a living being, the idol–worshipers endow their idols with the power over life and death and therefore, elevate them at the rank of gods. Then, the entire society, or the members/subjects of an establishment, should demonstrate beliefs into other gods/idols through acceptance of those who

a/ pretend to convey the will of the idols

b/ establish the set of beliefs, rules, norms of behavior (especially, rituals of service and rituals of sacrifice to the idols)

c/ pretend to act on idols’ behalf.

Such idol–servants/“substitutes of gods” derive their power by deceit (by propagating and disseminating false religions/ideologies and false knowledge) and maintain their authority over the people through

a/ hierarchies of religious authority (for instance, such as hierarchies of priests and diviners in ancient Egypt, Greece, and other heathen countries of the antiquity, in which the earthly religious and civil authority frequently were concentrated on one hands, as it was, for instance, in a case of Minoan sacred priests–kings*5*, and as it is in the papal empire where the popes made themselves the substitutes of God, hold the highest religious and secular authority, can change white in black, black into white, the vices into the virtues, and the virtues into the vices in accordance with their purposes*6*, and where the papal “priests who are in mortal sin” discharge their duties “by the power of the Holy Spirit”*7*

b/ hierarchies of the power of coercion (special establishments and structures similar to the Plato’s Nocturnal Council*8*, the papal inquisition*9*, religious/secret police, institute of informers)

c/ the hierarchies of the political and civil authority (army, police, social, educational institutions)

d/ other means of surveillance, control and persecution of the different–minded.

The wholeness/system of the referred above means of making/having/establishing “other gods” (or actualization of the idol–worship) is intended to maintain specific kind of the social–political order and social–political stability by defining and controlling

 

the religious beliefs

conscience and thinking

behavior of the people.

 

In general, process of making/having/establishing “other gods” (or actualization of the idol–worship) is the process of total enslaving*10* a human being: the spirit–mind–body*11*. The beliefs of the idol–worshipers enslave

1/ spirit: they subdue it to the non–existing idols depriving it from the natural connection with God the Creator in Whose image and likeness a human being is created

2/ mind: they confine the mind within the framework of false knowledge, and therefore, debilitate thinking and devoid of development in accordance with the human nature, and thus, deprive of the chance of survival

3/ body: they define norms and rules of behavior and limits of deviation from official norms–rules–laws, behind which the deviants would be subdued by the institutions that actualize the power of coercion.

Although, because of life within the heathen societies, some lived as slaves coerced to imitate the appearance of compliance with the heathen and alien for them beliefs and laws [[the Christianity commenced as spiritual liberation of the slaves, within the heathen slave–based Roman Empire; many Christians lived and died being apparently obedient slaves of men]], their mind was opened for knowledge of truth and they, in their heart, worshiped true God. Slavery of a body is not death of the reason; the ones with the enslaved mind and silent conscience are slaves and the living dead {e.g., in: Matthew 10:28; 1 Peter 2:13–19; Romans 6:12–23; 8:14–15; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Galatians 4; 5; Colossians 3:10–25; 1 Timothy 6:1–5}.

So, slavery is death of reason and the root of stagnation (following with collapse and ruin) of the societies and other human establishments, which either allow existence of slavery or exist because of it. The ancient heathen philosophers*12* who lived within the heathen societies, such as Socrates*13* for instance, knew that. They just came short of understanding that they – the heathens who believe that they are free–thinking lovers of wisdom (philosophers) – themselves are the slaves of false knowledge, because they did not find true God.

In general, the one with the unbiased and free mind who studies and analyzes the history of mankind could infer

1/ the idol–worship does not exist without the power of coercion

2/ the power of coercion based on control of beliefs, conscience, and thinking of a human being is inseparable component and the inevitable actuality of the idol–worshiping establishments (societies, states, nations)

3/ any human being that had to act because of coercion is a slave by body, or human chattel according to Aristotle’s definition

4/ idol–worship and false knowledge of false religions transforms freemen into slaves and keeps the slaves {anyone who is deprived of knowledge of truth is slave – John 8:32} under control and in submission to their masters – owners, rulers, leaders: heads of the hierarchies of religious and civil authorities, which maintain the religious, social, and other beliefs, values, and laws, according to which the population has to live

5/ any establishment that maintains religious beliefs of its members (citizens, believers, subjects) with the power of coercion is the slave–house, or the house of slavery {οικου  δουλειας – house of slavery – as it is said in Exodus 20:2}, which keeps slaves in submission with false religious beliefs that is by idol–worship

6/ any establishment that employs the power of coercion to impose any religious belief/set of beliefs unto its members (subjects, citizens), is founded upon false knowledge of the idol–worshipers; it propagates the false religion/idol–worship; its actions can be construed with the logic of death*14* and predicted on the basis of the heathen (false knowledge) framework, by which it lives and which defines thinking and actions of the compliant members of such establishment.

Therefore, with the first two of The Ten Commandments {Exodus 20:1–6}, the law of God Who brought His people out of house of slavery (the land of idol–worshiping Egypt) voided slavery of the mind. By prohibiting idol–making and idol–worship, the law of God

 

prevents enslaving by the false knowledge

guards spiritual and mental freedom and therefore, health and the very life of the one

who lives according to the law of God

guards freedom to actualize the nature and to accomplish the purposes

for the sake of which the one has been born into the world

makes possible the one’s development–evolution–preparation for the meeting with God,

that is for the next phase of human evolution.

 

What then, the mind should lack, so it could be involved into idol–making and become an idol–worshiper?

About eighteen centuries ago, Mani the Babylonian began to preach new religion in the lands of Persian Empire; he wanted to create the universal faith, so the people of the entire world could be united by universal knowledge and live by one truth. He assembled a new religion – Manichaeism – with the concepts that he borrowed from Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, and Christianity, and with myths, into which the people woven their fantasies and dreams. Mani attempted to unify the gods, the myths, and the beliefs into the coherent and verisimilar system of knowledge, which would be acceptable for all. Mani focused his system upon the force, which he believed is predominant: Mani assumed that the evil is omnipotent and the “evil god” is capable of making “the good god” to do and to wish things which he desired not, that the world of the material things including a human body was created by the evil, a human being has no free will. These and other Mani’s assumptions*15* made Manichaeism the most inhumane set of beliefs and the worst heresy ever devised by human mind in service of the evil.

In brief, Manichaeism was intended to spread the belief into the omnipotence of the evil over the entire world and to convince the converts that the only way to obtain the paradise leads through rejection of life and normal way of life (family, children, and all earthly ties and possessions) and self–inflicted suffering through austerities, which for those who wanted to break the chain of reincarnations, have to be completed with slow death/suicide [[“endura”]] because of rejecting everything that sustains life of a body. With his “universal religion,” Mani attempted to impose onto the world the cult that recognizes the evil as the omnipotent god and therefore, to cast the entire world into slavery to the arch–evil.

For all religions, from which Mani took the parts of his doctrine, Manichaeism became the heresy, because Mani attempted to reconcile the beliefs that by their very nature were irreconcilable [[for instance, pantheon of gods, omnipotence of the evil, deprivation of a human being from free will, predetermination of everything what man does during his life – with Christianity; monotheist Christian doctrine – with multi–deity of other religions]], and included into his doctrine the articles of faith, which were unacceptable for the followers of all religions whom he attempted to convert and to unify. The creations of Mani’s mind might be envisioned as the springs without water, as dark clouds of tempest {in: 2 Peter 2:17–19} that run through the world promising the life–creating rain of true knowledge, yet, leaving those who expected rain to die from thirst.

So, Mani was executed, and his followers began their way of suffering: the religious and political authorities of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, and other countries, in which the Manicheans attempted to propagate their beliefs, imprisoned, executed (usually, burned alive as heretics), or exiled them. In Southern France, where the Manicheans re–appeared in the twelfth century under name of Albigensians or  Cathari, the papal church initiated crusade against them and even established a special institution – the inquisition*9* – for their extermination.  

Still, Mani’s concepts penetrated many religious and philosophical doctrines, and Mani’s idea of the world–wide universal religion still attracts the many and still forces its way into the reality under the slogans of ecumenical movement*16*. Through the works of Augustine the Manichean, who converted into neo–Platonism, yet became the Doctor and canonized saint of the papal church of Rome – Manichaeism penetrated the Western theology and influenced Thomas Aquinas the main papal theologian. Eventually, Aquinas doctrine, which Aquinas devised with the Plato–Aristotle’s [[derived from the Orphism]] doctrine spiced up and fashioned with Mani’s ideas – Aristotle–Aquinas’ political theology – was accepted as the official doctrine of the papal church, which now is waging its crusade for unification with [[submission of]] Christianity.

So, what was the reason of Mani’s failure to firmly establish his religion, which he expected to elevate at the place of the universal truth, and in fact, eventually, to make its donors – Christianity, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, and other religions from which Mani borrowed concepts, deities, articles of faith, beliefs, myths – irrelevant? Why Mani had to suffer inhumane execution (he was crucified) and his followers became unwanted in all societies, which they attempted to “illuminate” with their beliefs?

The one could infer that the reason of Mani’s failure [[his doctrine was rejected by those who remain steadfast in their faith and unwavering in their religious beliefs]] is in slavery of the mind that attempts to allure the others with the false promises and promises them illumination and liberation [[e.g., through rejection of life according to the human nature and slow suicide]], while itself is within the spiritual darkness of house of slavery run by the arch–evil. The apostles warned the Christians concerning such endeavors {Acts 20:29–30; Jude; 2 Peter 2}: the Mani’s doctrine and similar cults illustrate the meaning of the uninterrupted war, which the Christians have to win with their spiritual weapon: love and loyalty to God, knowledge of the words of God, observance of the law*17* – commandments of God, steadfast unwavering faith in Lord Jesus Christ Who, for them, is the Absolute truth and the only Way to God, and to the life everlasting {John 14:6; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5; Ephesians 6:10–18}.

The one who studies the history could infer that Mani

 

attempted to spread the false knowledge,

while apparently assumed Christian beliefs and utilized the Christian terminology

{that is wearing sheep clothing as it is said in: Acts 20:29–30}

propagated most sacrilegious heresy against God the Creator,

the blasphemies, which he covered with the Christian terminology*15*

substituted the commandments of God with his own “commandments”

and attempted to establish himself at the place of God

[[e.g., by presenting himself as “the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete” that came*15* according to the promise of Lord Jesus Christ]]

by devising and worshiping his idols before the True God, violated the commandments of God

that he had to observe, if he pretended to be “the apostle of Christ”*15*

{Mark 13:5–6; Luke 21:8}

was wiped out from the face of the earth and his followers were scattered,

because the arch–evil is the murder from first {John 8:44},

and death of the sinner is evil {Psalm 33(34):21}

 

The history of Manichaeism, and especially the end of its founder, illustrates the danger of the human imagination*4*, which is intently bent upon the evil {Genesis 8:21}; it also reveals the vital significance of observing the law of God. Only observance of the law of God, when life and thinking and speaking and acting have the only foundation – the words of God, protects a human being from slavery of the mind and death of the reason.

The point/moment of time, when the human mind discards the law of God, rejects God, and creates for itself other gods/idols before the face of God – that is when the mind commits apostasy*3*, might be the point of no return, because the human heart has become the ashes and dust incapable of discerning the good and the evil – the likeness to the idols, which it created {Psalm 134(135):15–18; Isaiah 44:20}. Those, who have passed this point and continue their way without intention to return to true God, have transformed themselves into the carriers of death – own and of the others*18*, into the offspring of vipers that have no good within: they carry the lethal poison of the ancient arch–serpent, the incurable rage of asps {θυμος δρακοντων ο οινος αυτων, και θυμος ασπιδων ανιατος – Deuteronomy 32:33; Isaiah 59:2–11; Matthew 12:34–35; 15:12–14; 23:1–35; John 8:43–45; Romans 3:13}…

*6* Aquinas describes the Roman pope as the exceptional public figure who, by the will of God, “holds the apex of both powers, spiritual and secular,” because in the person of the pope the spiritual and the secular power are unified. All kings must be subjects to “the successor of St. Peter, vicar of Christ, the Roman Pontiff ... just as they are subjects to Our Lord Jesus.”  The kings are “vassals of the Church,” and the pope is a “head of the republic of Christ.” The pope has the right to punish disobedient rulers: the papal excommunication releases the subjects of the apostate king “from his control and from their oath of fidelity” [Aquinas Summa Theologica  II–II, Q. 12, a2; Contra Errores Graecorum, Quaestiones Quodlibetales, and other works; also qtd. in: Bigongiari xxxiv–xxxv]: kings and rulers are the vassals of the Church/pope and the spiritual power has the secular (or temporal) power as a subject as the soul has a body [Summa Theologica II–II Q.60 a6 ro3].

With a comparison, which is based on two Plato’s notions that 1/ a soul governs a body because the body is secondary, as a derivative of the soul, and 2/ that the small governing group possesses all wisdom of the community [Plato Laws 896c; Republic 428e–429a], Aquinas made two far reaching statements:

1/ the spiritual power (the pope) has the right to intervene with judgment and other “temporal matters” of the secular authority of king and other rulers

2/ the secular power and the spiritual power are inseparable as a human being is the inseparable union of the body and soul.

Concerning intervention with the secular authorities, Aquinas ascribes to the papal church the right to terminate the privilege of dominion and authority of unbelievers because the church “has the authority of God” [Summa Theologica II–II Q.10 a10 a].

The popes accepted the Aquinas’ vision of their greatness; for instance, in 1570, Pius V (Catholic saint) deprived Elizabeth I of the right to the kingdom, “from all dominion, dignity and privilege whatsoever,” condemned her as a heretic, and absolved all her subjects from the oath of allegiance, fidelity, and obedience; those who disobeyed the pope’s command and remained faithful to Elizabeth I were also condemned as heretics [The Papal Bull Against Elizabeth, 1570, in: Documents of the Christian Church 267–268].

Then, Aquinas provides definition of the power of the ruler as the connection between coercion and power: the greater power applies the greater coercion. A ruler of the perfect community – state, city, etc. – possesses the “perfect coercive power.” He rules by the “political foresight,” which Aquinas compares with the providence by which God rules the world. If such a ruler inflicts death and mutilation as punishment, deprives men of life, property, and liberty for the sake of the common good or legal justice, these actions (in fact, crimes against humanity) of a ruler become the lawful and praiseworthy acts [Summa Theologica II–II Q.64 a2; Q.65 a1, a2; Q.66 a5, a8; Q.67 a4; ref. also in: Bigongiari xvi].

Consequently, in his “spiritual Exercises,” §352, Ignatius of Loyola introduces the Rules, which a “Church militant” must maintain. The Rules begin with the order to put aside “all our own judgments” and to obey in everything to “the hierarchical Church,” which Loyola depicted in image of the human king/pope. They include approval and praise of the decrees and conduct of the papal authorities; they connect an ability to “maintain a right mind in all things” with such obedience that a “Church militant” should see the white as the black if “the hierarchical Church so stipulates” [Spiritual Exercises §352–365; Personal Writings 356–358].

*7* The Council of Trent (the assembly of the clergy at the highest hierarchical levels of papal church of Rome, in 1545–1563), which according to its participants was guided “by the mind and spirit of St. Thomas” [Walz ref. in: New Catholic Encyclopedia 14:134], declared that the “priests who are in mortal sin” still discharge their duties “by the power of the Holy Spirit,” which they received in ordination [Decrees of Ecumenical Councils 242, 707]. This conclusion is based on the following Aquinas’ assertions:

a/ “members of Christ by the actual union of charity” are free from mortal sins [Summa Theologica III Q.8 a3 ro2]

b/ “all the consecrations of the Church are immovable,” and the sacramental power received by consecration remains in men as long as they live, even if they become heretics or schismatics; in support of this assertion, Aquinas refers to the altar, which is not consecrated again “unless it has been broken up” [Summa Theologica  II–II Q.39 a3].

According to St. John the Apostle, man who commits a sin “is of devil” {1 John 3:4–10}.

According to the Council of Trent, those who commit a mortal sin (or as St. John the Apostle wrote, are “of devil”) can act with “the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Evidently, the Council of Trent assumes that the power of God can be bound by men in such a degree that even man in a state of mortal sin, who has rejected God (otherwise, he would not commit mortal sin), still possesses the power received when he was ordained. It means that the Council of Trent incorporates into papal dogma–Catholicism the heathen belief in the ability of man to bind and control deity with magic rituals or rites of worship and ascribes to the man “of devil” the ability to act “by the power of the Holy Spirit.” 

If to read the holy Scriptures, it becomes evident that a mortal sin and the life in God are incompatible (the mortal sin is called “mortal” because the sinner freely has rejected God – the source of life and therefore, entered the realm of death). The evil and mortal sins of man do not exist in presence of God: either man has the Spirit of God or he is in the state of mortal sin. Any assertion that the priest in the state of mortal sin still could be a priest or could act with the power of the Holy Spirit received in ordination, contradicts the Holy Scriptures and the Christian dogma: the assertion that God dwells in the sinner along with mortal sin is sacrilegious because it implies that God dwells with the evil.

Sin is a state of the freely chosen death – death of the soul, which rejected God; although the soul is immortal, without God it does not have life, because if it does not live in God, it dwells in death.

Man sanctified by the Word–God is born of the Holy Spirit of God; he dwells in God Who is perfect love, and he is the dwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. Such man cannot sin: sin is lawlessness and “he who commits sin is of devil” {John 1:12–13; 14:16–17; 15:1–26; 1 John 3:3–9, 14–15; 4:7–21; 5:12, 16–21; James 1:13–15; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; 6:19–20} [also, see: St. Maximus the Confessor 34 in: The Philokalia 2:244; St. Gregory Palamas §8 in: The Philokalia 4:295].

The Aquinas’ positive correlation of mortal sin and of the status of clergy belongs to another realm of knowledge – the heathen cult of death.

The papal dogma that man in a state of the mortal sin (that is by the man “of devil”) can discharge his duties “by the power of the Holy Spirit” is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit; just only this one article of papal faith is enough to prove the incompatibility of the papal dogma with Christianity.

– slavery “makes devious deeds inevitable,” and deprives mind of “a single wholesome thought”

– the consummate philosopher (mentioned as the opposite to a slave) is concerned only with the search for truth; in his thought he has the complete freedom, he is not involved in the agora discussions, lawcourts, and political clubs

– before a lawcourt, the philosopher looks like a fool because the philosopher’s truth is not compatible with the something that the society holds to be the truth (as soon as Socrates referred to a speaker before the Athenian lawcourt as to a slave, it is obvious that Socrates assumes that the speaker does not possesses honesty, truthfulness, and ability to think).

The Blessing in the Night

 

Comprehend then, bless the Lord, all the slaves of the Lord,

who are established in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

Stretch out your hands by night to the sanctuary and bless the Lord.

May the Lord Who made the heaven and the earth bless thee out of Zion.

{Psalm 133(134)}

 

It is a very ancient and very short Psalm of a few words. Those who are the slaves in the house of the Lord (δουλοι Κυριου), who are established (εστωτες) in the courts of the dwelling of God, should comprehend the Lord with blessing (ιδου δη ευλογειτε τον Κυριον); they should stretch out their hands*1* by night to the sanctuary and bless the Lord. Then, may the Lord Who made heaven and earth give His blessing out of Zion {Psalm 133(134)}.

Apparently, it is not known who are the δουλοι Κυριου, who have to comprehend and bless the Lord, and who are established (are steadfast) in the house of the Lord, where is and what is the sanctuary to which they should stretch out their hands by the night and give blessing to the Lord, so then, they might expect the blessing of God the Creator. It could be any place, any time, any universe, where the night as the darkness in literal or abstract sense (darkness physical or spiritual or intellectual, the darkness of ignorance, of idol–worship, of inhumanity, of despair, of hopelessness) exists, and where, still, God and therefore, the meaning of holiness, is known. This holiness might be the greatest sanctuary – Αγια Αγιωνof the temple that Solomon built, it might be any place where the priests beseech blessing of God; it might be the kingdom of God, to which the human soul–heart–mind belongs, because, with the blessing of God, it had comprehended the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life, and became the temple of the Living God {John 14:15–26; 17; Isaiah 8:13–14}.

Who are  δουλοι Κυριου – the slaves of the Lord?

The Holy Scriptures name as the slaves of the Lord the ones who live by God, act by the power of God, and for sake of accomplishment of the will of God: they are the prophets to whom God refers to as to “My slaves” – τοις δουλοις Μου – to whom He commands by His Spirit {Zacharias 1:6}. In the writings of Malachi the prophet who conveys the words of God {Malachi 3:17}, those whom God will choose to be His own possession similarly to the human way/manner are referred to as to τον υιον αυτου, τον δουλευοντα αυτω – as a son of man, who serves him unreservedly, as slave (δουλευοντα from δουλευω  – to be a slave; to serve as slave; to be devoted as slave).

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who came to accomplish the will of God the Father, said that His food is to do the will of Who sent Him to finish His work {John 4:34}.

Then, the Lord explained His listeners that, when they accomplish the will of God, they have to say “we are unavailing slaves – δουλοι  αχρεioi – for we have done what we ought to do” {Luke 17:10}.

Those who enter the eternity with God to live in His presence and to reign forever also are referred as the slaves – οι δουλοι {Revelation 22:1–5}.

Then, Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples that they are His friends, if they do whatever He commands them. He no longer calls them ‘slaves,’ for a slave does not know what his Lord does of him; but He calls them ‘friends’ because He makes known to them all He heard from His Father {John 15:14–15}. Afterward, the Lord says that the everlasting life is that they – His disciples who are given to Him by God the Father – may know the Only One True God and Whom He sent, Jesus Christ {John 17:2–3}.

Therefore the difference between the one as a slave of God and the one as a friend of God is knowledge of the purpose (knowledge what the Lord does of him). Those who know the future that follows accomplishment of the purpose and accomplish it are the chosen ones {e.g., in: Malachi 3:16–18; 4:1–3}. As the Lord says, they are the ones of God – His sheep whom He knows and who follow Him {John 10:27–30; 17:6}. They – the ones chosen and known by God, His very Own possession, the blessed ones – will be in God and with God forever {John 17:1–26; Revelation 21:6–75; 22:1–5, 14}.

For those who have learnt the precious knowledge of God, there is no difference in the worldly definitions, to which the “free” people of democratic societies cling. There is no difference between the status of God’s slave and status of God’s freeman defined by human language for those who live by God and for God, and who, by the precious price, are set free from sin and bonded by the perfection {John 8:31–36; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Colossians 3:10–14; Matthew 5:48}. They have been set free from the worldly powers of the world controlled by the evil. Their freedom includes understanding of the world, within which the one, who begins his ascent to God as the slave of sin, as the many of those who are born into this world do, has

 

to comprehend the meaning of freedom

in the fierce spiritual war with the evil (the war that is the one’s  entire life),

to win the precious freedom of the mighty immortal son – and a child and a slave – of God

{2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Ephesians 3:14–21; 6:10–18; Revelation 21:6–7; Psalm 17(18)}

to become the blessed one of God – the child–son–slave prepared*2* for the eternity with God

{James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1:22–25; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians; Colossians; Revelation 22:1–5, 13–14}.

 

Consequently, the Apostles {1 Peter 2; 1 John 3; 4; 5; Ephesians; Colossians 3:10–14; Galatians 3:26–29; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; 7:17–23; 13} say of

a/ the people of God taken into possession and called out of darkness, because they know the purpose of their existence – to keep and to observe and to make known the Law of God, and to convey the knowledge of God to those who are willing to accept

b/ freedom and freemen who are free of sin, yet who became the slaves of the righteousness: the children–slaves–disciples–friends of God who live by the Spirit of God

 

who are set free, because where the Spirit of God is freedom is

↓         ↑

who are established (εστωτες) and kept by the Absolute Good*3* and the Perfection of God,

because they became the possession – the very Own of God, and because they live by God

{Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:36; John 13:34–35; 14:15–18, 23–26; 15:12–27}

 

c/ the absence of human division between slavery and freedom in those who are set free, and who are not slaves anymore, because the slave does not remain in the house to the age; the son remains in the house to the age {John 8:36–36}.

One of the components of the knowledge that transforms a slave into the friend is the explanation: who is a Christian – the disciple and slave and child of the Almighty God, how he should learn the knowledge of God, how he could evolve into a child of God, and how he should live the rest of his earthly life after becoming a child of God {in: John 1:12–13; Matthew; Mark; Luke; John; James; 1 John; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; Ephesians; Colossians; 1 Corinthians; 2 Corinthians; and other Epistles of the Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God}.

What does it mean ‘blessing’? Why the one should bless the Almighty God Who has everything?

When a human being blesses God the Creator, he confirms his acceptance of God and his love to God; he opens his soul–heart–mind for the love of God making himself the part of God’s kingdom – the one who is established (εστωτες) in the house of the Lord.

When God the Creator gives His blessing to His creation, He bestows on him His Love and His Power accompanied either with the abundance of the good, of which Moses told his tribesmen at the time of law–giving {Deuteronomy 28:1–14; 30:9–20}, or with the greatest gift of the wisdom and understanding that comes with the Holy Spirit. Some could receive both of them – the wealth of this world and the wealth of the Wisdom that prepares the human soul–heart–mind for the new world of God.

For a Christian, the highest blessing – the assurance of the life everlasting – is the presence of the Holy Spirit Who comes from the Father in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ, because of love of God the Father to those who believe in His son – Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and love Him {John 14:15–17, 23–26; 16:23–24; Matthew 7:7–11; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9–13}.

Then, why the slaves of God should stretch out their hands to the sanctuary? What happens when the one stretches out (or lift up in other texts of the Holy Scriptures) his hands to God Who is Αγιος Αγιος Αγιος Κυριος Σαβαωθ and the Sanctuary {Isaiah 6:3; 8:13–14}: the Αγια Αγιωνthe Holy of Holies – of each soul that lives by God?

When Moses led his tribesmen to the Promised Land and the Israelites departed from the wilderness of Sin, they encountered one of the native nations – the Amalec people {Exodus 17:8–16}, which had to be annihilated (because of their great corruption and sins against the Lord). So, Moses went up to the top of the hill over the place where the Israelites had to attack the Amalec, and he lifted his hands. While Moses’ hands were lifted (επηρε), the Israelites prevailed; when Moses let his hands down (because they were heavy), the Amalec prevailed. Hence, Aaron and another man supported Moses’ hands until the end of the day, when the Amalec was annihilated; even memory of the Amalec nation was blotted out from under the heaven. Only because Moses wrote of the Amalec in his book, as the Lord told him, the name still is known. With the secret hand the Lord waged war against the Amalec for all generations {also, in: Psalm 33(34):21}.

Hence, the one could infer that the power of the Lord was transferred unto a particular reality, in which the Israelites waged war with the evil ones, through the lifted hands of Moses; because of this power, the Israelites won their battle: defeated and annihilated the evil ones.

In another text, the prophet says that he lifted up (διεπετασα from διαπεταννυω – to lift up sail, to open up wings) his hands to God; his soul for God as the waterless land: he is a slave of God, and he expects that the Spirit of God will guide him, that God will make him alive and bring his soul out of affliction {Psalm 142(143):6–12}. He expresses his expectations by lifting up/opening his hands to the Lord. Through the hands of man, the life–sustaining power of God enters the world of man for defeating the evil, healing the diseases of the mind and body, building the οικον – dwelling of man {Psalm 126(127); 146(147)}, and transforming the world, within which the οικον – dwelling of man of God is accommodated, into the better place.  

The referred above texts point to the particular phenomenon, which manifests the connection of the δουλοι Κυριου – for instance, those in Psalm 133(134) and the prophet whose soul is the waterless land waiting for God {Psalm 142(143):6–12} – with God:

 

they are vigilant in the time (night), when the others have no awareness of the actuality

they stretch out (or lift up) their hands to accept the power

that comes with the blessing of God and from the dwelling of God

God the Creator responds to them with His blessing

that includes giving of the life–sustaining energy

the power that one receives through the blessing of God the Creator heals the wounds of his soul,

leads him out of affliction, ensures his victory in the war with the evil ones,

and therefore, through him, sustains the world of the living.

 

Hence, the one could comprehend the pattern describing maintenance of the existing world and perhaps, of the world to come.

At any time, the blessing given by God the Creator to the creation who – with faith – loves and blesses his Creator and other creations of God, is accompanied with well–being of His creation: blessing of God is bestowing the divine life–creating and life–sustaining power that renews the face of the earth (man is the earth) and that is carried by the Holy Spirit and accomplished by the Word–God {Mark 11:22–26; Luke 11:9–13; John 4:34; 10:25, 30; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17; Psalm 103(104):30; 127(128); 144(145); 146:3–6; Deuteronomy 28:1–14; 30:9–20}. It always is the evidence of forgiveness and reconciliation with God in the present; it also is the foresight of the Future, when night and darkness will be no more {Revelation 21:23; 22:5}.

Hence, the blessing of God comes unto the one

 

who was delivered from the power of darkness, pitied, forgiven, and illuminated by the Light and Wisdom of God

{John 1:1–18; 9:15; 15:3–12; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2:9–10, 25; 2 Peter 1:2–11, 19–21; 1 John 1; Colossians 1:13;

Psalm 102(103); 103(104);106(107)}

who was purified by the Word–God from his sins and imperfections

and set free from the slavery to the arch–evil

{John 8:31–32, 34–36; 13:10; 15:1–8; 17:17}

who is prepared for acceptance of the power that will sustain his life and with him,

life of the world given into his dominion

{John 14:1–26; 15; 17; Revelation 22:3–5}

who, with his steadfastness of faith and righteousness of a child of God –

the one who imitates His God and Savior as a son imitates his father,

is renewed in cognition of God and established on the Precious Indestructible Corner–Stone

{Matthew 5:17–48; Luke 6:27–49; John 13:34–35; 14; 15; 16; 17;

1 John; Ephesians 2:18–22; Colossians 1:9–23; 3:10–11; Isaiah 28:16}.

 

The evil ones do not seek blessings of God: in the presence of God, the evil is not able to exist, and for the evil ones, presence of God is torture and then, the end {Matthew 8:28–29; Mark 5:1–7; Luke 8:27–31; Revelation 20:11–15}. Hence, the self–chosen path of the evil ones

 

begins in darkness within this world

culminates in the total ruin*4*, from which nothing and nobody is able to save the evil ones –

those who have set themselves against the law and the will of God

leads into the darkness of eternal separation from God

{Matthew 22:11–14; John 3:16–21, 35–36; 8:37–47;

Isaiah 1:28; 43:11–13; Malachi 3:17; 4:2; Psalm 144(145):20}.

 

While living in the darkness – and especially, in the gloom of human reason inseparable from slavery of sin, the people invented different methods of illumination: burning wood, candles, lamps, street lights, bonfire, arson, burnt–offering of animals and humans, stakes of the Inquisition, pyres on which the books written by the different–minded are burnt, nuclear bombs, suicide–bombers, public flogging and mutilation of human beings created after image and likeness of God {Genesis 1:27; 9:6}, and so on…

Does not, with each passing moment when a new crime of inhumanity is committed, the present world look more and more as the night, in which the Word–God, the Light, does not work, because He left the world that has rejected His love and serves the evil, and in which only the expectations of evil stay {John 9:4–5; 14:19, 30; 15:18–25; 16:1–11, 16, 28; Isaiah 28:15–22}?

And I think that now, when the night of idol–worship, darkness of false religions, human misery and suffering fueled with incessant conflicts and wars, ignorance, inhumanity, and ungodliness crawl over the entire planet, when the burning Christian churches took place of street–lighting and Christians and people of other faiths are burned alive, beheaded, and slaughtered as animals because of their beliefs, would the δουλοι Κυριου seek the blessing of the Lord God for the world of the evil?

And if they still do, would not the power that comes from God with His blessing speed up διαφθορον – the total ruin*4* – of the evil ones? Would not this power accelerate collapse and disintegration of the evil establishments, as well as coming of the long–awaited end promised thousands of years ago {Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 12:35–40; 2 Peter 3}?
