A.

Since the beginning, the people of the chosen nation knew that God is the Lord of knowledge: God gives wisdom and from His presence, knowledge and understanding; the human heart is firmly established (εστερεωθη*2*) in the Lord, and the Lord is the portion of the one in the land of the living {1 Kings 2:1, 3; Psalm 118(119):57; 141(142):5; Proverbs 2:6}. Those, who have no knowledge of God, because they have either rejected knowledge or forgotten the Law*3* of God, are rejected and their children are forgotten by God {Hosea 4:6–14}: they will perish from the land of the living.

The mind lives by knowledge: knowledge is the energy/power by which the mind operates and by which it exists and accomplishes the purposes of its existence – actualizes its nature. Knowledge also is the means by which the mind influences (either illuminates, teaches, leads to development or corrupts, destroys, and leads to death) the others through sharing with them thoughts and opinions – the results (fruits) of own thinking–cognition–comprehension.

Only true knowledge, the knowledge of the Truth {John 14:6, 15–18, 23, 26; 17}, sustains life, because the Truth is the Absolute Good*4* for man.

The evil kills: it kills by enslaving with the false knowledge, which it makes mandatory and imposes on its victims–servants through the false religions, ideologies, and other buttresses of the establishments that work for the arch–evil and accomplish its purpose: death for all the living {cf. in: John 8:31–51}. False knowledge leads to slavery*5* and death, firstly, because it debilitates the mind by casting it into the inadequate comprehension, which does not sustain the right discernment*6* and which therefore, makes impossible the adequate judgment. However, without the right discernment not survival nor development nor prosperity nor healthy and plentiful life would ever be possible.

The desire for the knowledge of truth – knowledge of the nature of everything and the laws that control and define the nature of everything, remains the greatest desire of any human mind that possesses the natural faculty of deliberation, intelligence, reasoning, and understanding. The mind has two options – two ways to satisfy this desire, which, similarly to love, is more powerful than self–preservation:

–– to ask God to grant the gift of wisdom and to seek knowledge through faith

–– to create own assumptions and to accept them as the knowledge of truth.

Consequently, two sources of knowledge exist:

–– knowledge given by God through the Hebrew Prophets and the Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ

–– knowledge originated by the human mind – “imagination*7* of the heart” of false prophets, priests–diviners, poets, and philosophers who created the imaginary worlds of false religions, which in the Past received a collective name “heathenism”*8*, and which in the Present exist as philosophical doctrines, ideologies, atheistic ethics–free sciences, neo–pagan beliefs, false religions, and cults – all of them based upon the two–layered foundation:

the false presumptions and unjustified opinions about God

[[mostly, based upon the Orphism*8*, which became the actual foundation of the Western and other civilizations

through philosophical doctrines of Plato, Aristotle, and their followers]]

misrepresentation of the human nature and of the world that accommodates existence of men

[[construed with the logic of death*9* and assembled within the framework based upon the Orphism and its derivatives]].

The Holy Scriptures refer to God as to the Lord of knowledge. God gives wisdom and knowledge of hidden and manifest things: the essence of life, the composition of the Universe and operation of the elements, the beginning and the end of times, the nature of animals and the temper of beasts, power of spirits, and deliberation of men {1 Kings 2:3; Wisdom 7}. This knowledge – the knowledge of nature of everything within the mankind’s universe – remains unsurpassed and non–cognized still: with all the government and private funds, the contemporary sciences are not able to ascend to the knowledge, which was opened to the sages of the Past free, just for asking {Psalm 118(119); Proverbs 2:2–12; 3; James 1:5–8}.

From the practical point of view, the one could identify wisdom*10* with an ability to discern the good and the evil: this wisdom–ability is the power sustaining life and evolution of human mind.

The mind, which separates itself from God and originates own assumptions, might be defined as the dreaming mind, because it creates dreams: the fruits of imagination, the imaginary worlds inconsistent with the actuality, incomplete snapshots of the real universe supplemented by imaginary constructions with inadequate levels of complexity. The Apostles {Jude 8, 12–13; 2 Peter 2:1–3, 17–19} write about the dreaming ones (visionaries, dreamers – ενυπνιαζομενοι – who live by dreams/imagination). They live in sin, yet, allure the others; they are the false teachers who speak by the lusts of their flesh and promise freedom while they themselves are the slaves of corruption/decay.

In this context, the meaning of sin receives a new interpretation: the state of willing ignorance – the self–chosen lack of comprehension {for which God promised to reject, punish, and forget the priests of Israel – Hosea 4:6–10} coupled with uncontrolled imagination producing false knowledge and resulting in failure to accomplish the ultimate purpose*11* [[to save own soul: to obtain the everlasting life through fulfillment of the Law/will of God {cf. in: Matthew 19:16–30; Mark 10:17–31; Luke 10:25–28; 18:18–30; John 14:6–26}]].

The process of imposing imaginary worlds onto the actuality of human existence (or an attempt of actualization of dreams) results in creation of false knowledge: the dreaming mind lacks the power to create the works/establishments, which might be accommodated by the actuality – the world sustained by the divine energy of Omnipotent God–Creator, and thus, capable of existence and development.

Although the one with the dreaming mind might devote his entire life to the learning*12* and collect all academic degrees and titles and labels, which the societies and establishments bestow on the most advanced scientists, researchers, and philosophers, his mind is fruitless: instead of searching for the truth and accomplishing the mission to dominate, to toil, and to cherish the world in righteousness and justice {Genesis 2:15; Wisdom 9:1–3}, it produces insufficient simplified soulless toys, with which it entertains, distracts, and destroys itself and those in the sphere of its influence.

Two reasons transformed the history of mankind into the list of vanished civilizations, destroyed establishments, and ruined expectations:

1) the knowledge assembled by the dreaming mind has an insufficient level of complexity; it is deprived of creative power, which is the property only of truth/wisdom granted by God, and which is necessary for accomplishment the main purposes of men: survival and evolution of the mind and survival of the human establishments created to sustain life and evolution. Then, with the insufficient/false knowledge nothing good and beneficial for men and their establishment can ever be created

2) any insufficiency/deprivation results in destruction; for instance, insufficiency of knowledge leads to degeneration of the cohesive (life–maintaining) power*13* and subsequent disintegration and collapse of the entire system/establishment.

It means that all destroyed establishments of men (for instance, business, political, religious, and educational organizations and institutions) shared two mutual features: they were based on the false (or imaginary) knowledge with an inadequate level of complexity, and they embodied particular patterns/codes of creation–actualization of insufficient knowledge.

If to recall that the evil is insufficiency (e.g., insufficiency of energy, time, and other resources) and deprivation (e.g., deprivation of energy, resources, life, and other possessions), it becomes clear that the evil imagination*7* is an insufficient function of the insufficient mind. The actual meaning of creative processes of evil imagination might be similar to construction of a model: the mind discards the parameters of the actuality and creates own – simplified, thus deprived of truth and therefore vitality, insufficient world*14*. Such a world is focused on own desires and necessities (as a response of a particular mind to the needs of a particular body – “the lusts of the flesh”): it is locked within own insufficiency. In such insufficient world, the mind seeks to replenish own insufficiency by deprivation of the others or by sliding deeper down into the dream world:

it feeds itself with phantoms and illusions

it, by admitting false knowledge and focusing on the false

[[while it according to its nature should be focused on God,

be fed by the Truth – knowledge of God, and be the temple of God]],

serves the idols instead of God

{for instance, see Ezekiel 8}.

Solomon the king in Jerusalem became the first of philosophers and thinkers who place reasoning/understanding, imagination, evil, wickedness–sin, folly, and insanity into one logical realm {Ecclesiastes 1:12–18; 2:12; 7:14–29; 9:3–6; 10:12–15}:

although man was created righteous,

the heart became attached to figments of imagination

the imagination of men is evil from their youth,

folly (as wickedness and evil) is ended with madness

the heart of man became full of evil and madness.

Only knowledge harmonized with the nature of man elevates the mind at the level of development, which is necessary if the mind desires to achieve the main purposes and to avoid sin–failure to accomplish the mission–purpose a human being has been created to accomplish. The mind receives this kind of knowledge through comprehension and observation of the Law of God.

So, how the false knowledge finds its way into the mind that, according to its nature, should live by God?

In other words, how to comprehend οδους οφεως επι πετρας – the way of the serpent on the rock {Proverbs 30:19}, and how to tread upon its head and to crush it without being touched and polluted by it {Genesis 3:15–16; Psalm 90(91):13; Luke 10:19; 1 John 2:13}, so its fuming incurable rage would not

poison the mind

debilitate it by casting it into darkness and perplexity

deprive it of righteousness and the right discernment*6* making it incapable of

comprehension and accomplishment the law/commandments of God and therefore,

depriving it of the chance of salvation and the everlasting life in the presence of God

{Deuteronomy 32:16–33; Isaiah 59:1–15; Revelation 21:1–8; 22:1–5, 10–15}?

B.

In the beginning of his book, Solomon the king in Jerusalem said: “there is no new thing under the sun...the living know that they shall die... the dead know nothing… there is no portion for them anymore forever in all that is under the sun” {Ecclesiastes 1:9–11; 9:5–6}.

Solomon completed his book with advice: “Hear the end, the sum: fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the entirety of man…God will bring everything to judgment with everything that was possible (παρεωραμενω)*15* – whether the good, or whether the evil {Ecclesiastes 12:13–14}.

Solomon has a peculiar vision of the world: two directions of thought are intertwined in his book {Ecclesiastes}.

1. A generation appears, and generation goes away, yet the Earth stands. The wind goes round and round, and returns on its circles. The rivers find their rest within the sea, yet, they flow again and again, and the see is not overfilled, because the rivers return to their beginning. The sun arises and goes down, to the sunset, and then, next dawn marks the new day. There is nothing new under the sun: whatever was, it is, and it shall be; each thing comes in its own time; moreover, no memory of the Past enters the Future*16*.

Solomon acknowledges that he accomplished everything that the king and wise man could do: all that the many desire to have and to learn was opened to his understanding and given to him, yet, all his deeds and observations led him to the following sad inferences:

– all labors of man are only for a body; his soul is not satisfied

– all labors of man are futile; no one has the authority over the fruits of own labor and the accumulated wealth – everything might be taken away and transferred to the others, as well as over own spirit; man is unable to prevent own death and to prolong own life

– the fate of man is the same as the fate of a beast: all came from the dust and all will return into the dust

– there is no memory of the Past in the Future, and the living do not know their end – an evil time falls upon them suddenly and they are snared as the fishes taken by the evil net

– there is no knowledge of love as well as there is no knowledge of hatred, and the same fate (death of body) awaits those who are good and those who are evil

– the hearts of men are filled with the evil, and madness in their life is the pursuit of death

– with the departure–death of man, his love and envy perish; there is no more portion and there is no more place for him under the sun

– everything is vanity of vanities; all is vanity...

In summary, all things at the Earth come into existence, fulfill the circle–cycle of life, reach the end, and then, revert to the beginning; everything has its own time–frame χρονος,  and the moment of fulfillmentκαιρος*17*, when it comes to the completion, and then, vanishes. The next set starts again within the same world/settings, in which nothing definite was left from the previous generations, and nothing new can be invented by the newcomers because

a/ man has no knowledge of the good and the evil

b/ man is not different from other living creatures: in the allotted time, death takes him similarly to all the living others and the very memory of him vanishes as memory of all the living others vanished

c/ man is not able to change the nature of things.

So, the first line of thoughts leads to a conclusion that the world of men is quite tedious and meaningless place. There is nothing new under the sun. The Earth is nothing more than the relatively constant settings that might be likened to the wooden frame, on which the ones that weave their fabrics*18* repeat their works continuously: the generations weave masterpiece of their life within the settings where the same cycles are repeated again and again and again without memory of the Past and without initial access to true knowledge of the good and the evil –

origin –– creation

existence –– accomplishment or consummation

death –– disintegration.

Why, then, everyone comes to expect something new, to accomplish that what has not been seen before, to discover the new meaning of things, to pursue the purposes, which were not accessible for those who lived before, if there is no memory of the Past, and if the fate of man is the same as the fate of a beast: all came from the dust and all will return into the dust?

If the same set of emotions, feelings, joys, sufferings, pleasures, findings, and losses awaits every human being, is any reason to seek the meaning of everything, if all already happened before: all was cognized or was not possible to cognize, all was found, all was not possible to keep, and all was lost?

Some points of this line of thought come close to the outlook of the ancient heathen philosophers that invented the concepts of reincarnation – the cosmic wheel to which mankind is chained in endless repetitive circles of deaths and re–births, and others of the kind*19*. Eventually, the Orphics arranged them into a doctrine of the cyclical/spiral evolution envisioned as the coils of the serpent – container of the forms of all beings, among which man is just one of the many animals/beasts that worships beasts (the main of which is the arch–serpent, the crooked dragon – the arch–evil) that may be sacrificed to bestial deities, and may be re–born in image of any being (animal, insect, plant, etc.).

Isaiah the prophet described {Isaiah 59:4–15} the ultimate result of this knowledge: the ones that hatched asps’ eggs [[assumed Orphic beliefs]] work iniquities and wickedness; they contemplate murders and run swift to bloodshed; they meet destruction and misery on their ways, because judgment departed from them. While they expected enlightenment, they walk in perplexity and darkness, and they even turned their mind aside of understanding.

So, in Solomon’s case, could the following three elements produce the rotten core of the Solomon’s apostasy*20*:

violations of the commandments and ordinances that God gave through Moses

{especially those that prohibit

1/ contacts with idol–worshipers

2/ multiplying of wealth and horses for a king –

Exodus 34:11–16; Deuteronomy 6:17–19; 7:1–6; 11:16; 12:1–4; 17:14–20; 30:15–20}

assumption of similarity of the destiny of men*21* and destiny of beasts

with the inference that the portion of man is to rejoice in the temporal works that he does

{Ecclesiastes 1:2–11; 3:18–22}

↓                                                       ↑

acceptance of the idols of his wives and concubines and the attempt to defy the will of God

{3 Kings 11; 2 Chronicles 1:13–17; 9:13–28}?

Until then, in the Book of Ecclesiastes, the general idea of nothingness and meaningless of powerless men who have no knowledge of the good and the evil and who vanish without trace is opposed to by the second line of thoughts reflecting man’s connection with the Almighty God and intervention of God into the life of man.

2. All deeds of God are timeless: they shall be forever. All deeds of men vanish. The working space*22* – the world given into the dominion of man – is set within his inner essence: the soul–heart–mind or simply, the mind*23*, so, he would do his labor/works within the allotted time. However, man is unable to deduce the complete meaning of own deeds, to change the nature of anything created by God, and to comprehend the deeds of God as well. Only God gives the joy of knowledge and opens mind for understanding and wisdom: all good things come to man by the will of God and not by man’s own labor. Although God created man to be righteous, the imagination*7* is inclined to evil {Genesis 8:21}, and intentions of man are many, yet, God will investigate and judge all. Consequently, the final word, the sum of all: fear God and observe His commandments; in this is the essence/entirety of man, because God will bring everything to judgment with everything that was possible (παρεωραμενω)*15* – whether the good, or whether the evil {Ecclesiastes 12:13}.

Summary:  if to accept the Solomon’s logic, it could be inferred that at least two kinds of knowledge exist.

1. The knowledge of things classified by Solomon as “vanity,” which sustains the continuous physical existence of mortal men and human temporal establishments; this knowledge might be forgotten and re–discovered or created over and over again. Forgetfulness and re–discovery/creation depend on the changes

a/ within the framework/world/settings/ work–space allotted for the life and accomplishments/works of men: availability of the resources sustaining life, degree of abnormal mutation, changes in the realms of plants, birds, animals, microorganisms, and the others due to the mutations triggered by the actions of men

b/ of mankind: advancement of evolution or anti–evolution of the mind.

Although according to Solomon, there is no memory of the Past in the Future, in fact, each new generation starts with some initial capital of knowledge – legacy of the ancestors: education includes memorizing of the history data (arranged and interpreted in accordance with the purposes of those who pay educators’ salaries), and knowledge of the matter and material things, especially the range of parameters and conditions – those that accommodate life and those that result in death.

The very idea of the repetitive cycles of life {Ecclesiastes 1} suggests existence of some general all–embracing and all–accommodating framework – the world controlled by the law, which sustains life of generations, allows proceeding of the processes according to their natural courses, and triggers termination of those who have completed they life–cycle and those with the unnatural deviations. Without at least some – basic – knowledge of the world of the matter, it would not be possible to sustain the chain of generations and to provide the newcomers with initial definitions of the values and purposes established/re–discovered by those still living who attempt to continue the definite manner of existence inherited form the ancestors and to preserve things they assume to be valuable.

Therefore, the Solomon’s term “vanity” reflects the temporary nature of human knowledge: it exists within the particular time–space settings (cycle of development, civilization*24*), describes the temporary conditions and arrangements, and vanishes when, for instance,

a/ those who carry it complete the earthly journey

b/ a particular cycle of life and the settings for this cycle of life are changed [[for example, there is no much knowledge of the first Earth, which was destroyed by the Flood {Genesis 6:1–14; 2 Peter 3:3–7}; some vanished civilizations left almost nothing that would reveal and explain the religious beliefs and philosophical concepts with which the civilization maintained own existence, as it happened, for instance, with the Phoenicians]].

2. The knowledge that sustains the very possibility and meaning and purposes of life and therefore, must be found/discovered and learned by each mind–participant of each cycle of life. This knowledge includes, for instance,

a/ the Law of God and its derivatives – the laws controlling the life of the spirit–mind and its power over the matter–body as well as over the things of the world under the sun

b/ the nature of the world and all things given into the dominion of men; knowledge of the nature is possible only if the laws that define and control the nature are known

c/ the meaning of the perfection–completeness, which would be achieved only if the mind utilizes all possibilities and accomplishes all the purposes it could utilize and accomplish within the settings*25* that accommodate its earthly existence – that if the mind has knowledge of the Law of God, of the nature defined and controlled by the Law of God, and the meaning of the completeness–perfection–optimum–highest potency–power that might be achieved–created–exercised according to the Law of God

Law of God

Nature of things Completeness/Perfection of things

This knowledge is complete, because it has the eternal nature and leads mind into the eternity, in which there is no such settings as time, therefore in which the vision of things is clear in all the entirety, without subdivisions on knowledge perceivable now, in the Present, and knowledge that can be accessed and learned only later, in the Future. The writings of the Prophets and the Apostles provide the insight into the realm of such knowledge: its foundation is the Law*3* – commandments of God, which holds the key of the eternity – the knowledge that might be accessed only through the Word–God {Matthew 5:17–20; 15:3–9, 13–14; 23:2, 13; Luke 11:52; John 14:6–28; 17; Revelation 1:8–18}.

However, for the many, the temporary knowledge of the “vanity”/material things often supplants the true priority: knowledge giving the everlasting life {in: John 17:1–8}.

The texts in the New Testament facilitate comprehension of the difference between two kinds of knowledge and their actual worth.

Lord God Jesus Christ came into the house of Lazarus and his two sisters. One sister – Martha began to prepare the feast; another sister – Mary sat at the Lord’s feet to hear His words. Martha needed help because she cared for the good dinner for the Lord and those with Him; so, she came to Him and requested that Mary left the Lord and came to help her, Martha, to serve. The answer of Lord makes clear that the Mary’s choice is better: Martha is concerned to rule many things, yet the only one is needed; Mary has chosen the good part (μεριδα), which will not be taken from her {Luke 10:38–42; John 11:1, 5}.

Words of God carry the knowledge, which establishes the foundation of the mind–soul, and which cannot be taken away: it is irrecoverable, because it

feeds the soul–heart–mind as the daily bread feeds a human body

become a part of, builds and forms the soul–heart–mind as bread becomes a part of, builds and forms a human body

gives it the life everlasting

prepares it for the eternity with God.

{in: John 6:35, 48–58, 63–69; 17}

So, Martha seeks to control temporary things, which will come to pass, will be consumed and forgotten; Mary clings to the knowledge of eternal God: following the prophets of the Past, Mary chose God as her portion (μερος) {Psalm 118(119):57–58; 141(142):5; Lamentations 3:24; Luke 10:39, 42}, and she will not be separated from Him.

This short conversation confirms that the human mind has the choice between two priorities – two realms of knowledge, similar to the choice between two masters {in: Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13}.

Although the followers of God have to work with the material things to express their faith and love to God and to the others – to prove that they observe the Law of God {e.g., Luke 10:25–42; John 13:12–17, 34–35; 15:1–17; James 2; 3:13–18; 4; 5; 1 John; esp. 3:16–18}, every thought must be focused*26* on God, and the cause of every word and deed should be unwavering steadfast pursuit of accomplishment of His commandments that is accomplishment of His will.

With the knowledge given by the Word–God, pessimism of Ecclesiastes vanishes as the fog dissipates under the Sun: understanding of the purposes gives the confidence of completion, because the mind of anyone could be empowered to access the life–giving knowledge, which cannot be forgotten or taken away. Although granted almost 2000 years ago, this knowledge never was, is, or will be the Past, because it stands apart. The vanity, hatred, evil, and death – the worst enemies of the mind that has to complete the evolution within the limited time–space–complexity settings, have no authority over it, because the knowledge given by the Word–God restores the divine nature and divine inheritance of man {Psalm 15(16):5; 72(73):26}.

With the knowledge given by the Word–God, each mind that is blessed with an ability to discover and to learn it is transformed into the child of God {John 1:1–13}. If created with the knowledge given by the Word–God, not a single thought nor comprehension nor an idea nor even a word could ever vanish, because this knowledge builds the new complete and perfect world, in which God dwells with His creations {John 14; 15; 16; 17}.

Yet, the way into the eternity leads through the dissipating world of the evil: the mind of the many could come to appreciation of the good only after comprehension of the evil; a human being may be empowered to enter the new eternal world of completeness and fulfillment only after he passed through the temporal disintegrating world of the material things*27* with all its necessities, insufficiencies, and powerlessness*28*. However, in this temporal world, the perfection, mercy, and love reveal their eternal nature, because they are the attributes of the Perfect God – the Absolute Good*4*, which His creations must imitate {Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:35–36; John 13:34–35}, if they desire to obtain the everlasting life in His presence.

C.

The one who reads the Books of the Old Testament could notice the difference and division between the prophet–messenger of God and his own tribesmen whom the prophet had to notify of the will of God and to instruct how to accomplish it.

In the time of the law–giving, Moses has led the people to the mount Sina for the meeting with God. Yet, the people were separated around; they perceived thundering, observed the mountain in flashes and smoke because of the presence of God; they feared and stood afar off, while Moses went to God. So, they said to Moses: let he speak to them, and let not God speak to them, lest they die. So, God spoke to Moses and gave him the Law by which the people should live. Even the priests and the elders chosen by God worshiped Him from a distance: the appearance of the Glory of God was as the blazing Fire before them. Moses alone came up to the mountain and received from God the stone tablets, on which God wrote the law for the chosen nation: the Law that should be put as the Precious Seal/carved on the tablet of human heart*29*. Then, the human heart would be ready for the works of God Who transforms the fleshy tablet of the human heart into the likeness of the Word–God and makes it as the precious stone, on which Λογος/Αγια Σοφια – the Word–God, Holy Wisdom of God  – writes His letters and imprints His seal {John 6:27}, the Code of the Immortality, and from which the eternal temple of God is built {Exodus 19; 20:18–22; 24; 32:15–16; Song 8:6; John 1:1–13; 6:27; James 1:18–25; 1 Peter 1; 2:4–10; 1 John 2:1–25; 3:3–4, 6; 5:11–12; 2 Corinthians 3:3, 17–18; Ephesians 1; 2; Colossians; Revelation 7:14–17; 21:3–7; 22:1–7}.

So, it was the beginning of special mission of the special people – the prophets: to speak to the people on behalf of God and to establish the new realm of knowledge, with which the human mind could ascend to God. With the knowledge of God, the human clay had to be molded into the lamp ready to be ignited by the Divine Fire {Psalm 17(18):28; Isaiah 45:9; 64:8; Matthew 5:14–16; John 5:33–35}. The prophets–carriers of the knowledge became the first stones from which God established the foundation of His kingdom for His chosen ones {Matthew 11:12–14; Luke 12:49; 17:20–21; John 4:21–24; 1 Peter 2:4–7; Ephesians 2:4–10, 13–22}. As the stones of the altar that Elias has built for God were separated from the dust and exposed by the fire from the heaven {3 Kings 18:16–39}*30*, similarly, the prophets had to be recognized by the words of God, which are ignited by the Divine Fire {Psalm 17(18):30}*31*, and especially through the impact of their words on the life of men*32*.

The people had to recognize the prophet–messenger of God – the one who speaks in the Name of God – by one inalienable feature of the prophet: the words of true prophet shall come true; they shall come to pass. The words of the false prophet shall not come to pass, and they shall not come true {Deuteronomy 4; 5; 18:15–22; 34:10–12}.

Furthermore, the Old Testament’s prophets

demonstrated the special abilities/powers*32*, which the others did not have

and even could not comprehend

did the works, which the others perceived as the miracles created by the power of God

predicted the Future, which the others could not foresee or even imagine

warned those who violated the law of God and rejected God (became idol–worshipers) of the inevitable ruin*33*

In summary, the prophets operated as executors of the will of God and as educators and guardians of men.

With initiation of the mission of the prophets, the human mind began to receive the special energy in the form of knowledge, which initiated evolution–development of the human mind, and with which the unique reality started to evolve: the civilization*34* sustained by the divine energy of God and intended to accommodate evolution–transformation of the mortal creature of dust into the immortal child of God {Genesis 3:20; John 1:1–18; 17}.

Another factor to consider – if the one desires to comprehend the phenomenon of prophets – is the prophet’s own perception of himself*35* and his work for God. The hints about the prophet’s self–perception are in the Books of the Old Testament:

– when Moses spoke to God – he implore God {Exodus 33:13} to reveal Himself, so man would cognize his Creator, to learn what is pleasing to Him, and comprehend own place and significance of the people*36* within the universe created by God

– Isaiah’s vision of God in His temple – he perceives himself as the man with unclean lips who lives among the sinful people and only after purification (after his sins were purged and iniquities were taken away), he is capable of performing the work for God: to come to the people and to speak to them the words of God  {Isaiah 6:1–13}

– the prophet’s confidence that God is his portion: his portion in the land of the living, so he will wait for Him – Μερις μου ει Κυριε … Μερις μου εν γη ζωντων – {Psalm 118(119):57; 141(142):5; Lamentations 3:24}.

Hence, the one could envision the connection between God and the Old Testament prophets, who spoke in the Name of God and by the Spirit of God, as the following

God of Wisdom and knowledge

purifies and sanctifies His servants, illuminates them with the Law,

bestows the power on them, and gives them energy/knowledge to accomplish His purposes

↓     ↓     ↓

the prophets–servants of God absorb the knowledge/energy and power given by God,

comprehend the words of God, and, by the power of the Holy Spirit,

are enabled to speak/convey to the others the knowledge given by God

the prophets perceive God as their portion – life, destiny, lot in life

the prophets begin to see the true nature of things,

roots/reasons, possibilities, and consequences of events and actions of men:

they know the future of men and their establishments;

they attempt to transfer the knowledge received from God to their tribesmen,

to guide them along the right way*37*

and to prepare the nation of God for the meeting with the Messiah

they warn their tribesmen

(who committed violations of the law of God or even completely rejected God and His law)

of the inevitable ruin that expects those who attempt to live and to survive without God

within the world created and sustained by God and controlled by His law –

the law that annihilates those who, as the result of violations of the law,

transformed themselves into the degenerated perverts  incapable to live and to evolve according to the nature.

In conclusion of the Introductory Notes [[A., B., C.,]] it should be said that the realm of human knowledge concerning God, the human nature, and the world that accommodates the human nature is given and arranged by God. This knowledge – the knowledge of truth*38* – defines the way to God*37*, and it was given

1/ through the people chosen by God – the prophets–servants–messengers of God, in the times of the Old Testament, when the human clay had to be prepared for the works of God*39*

2/ by Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, after the work of the prophets has been completed {Matthew 11:12–15

as it was pre–destined by God before the beginning of the times

{John 6:37, 44–45; 17:6–11; 1 Peter 1:2, 20; Ephesians 1:4–14}

in the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy that God will teach His chosen ones

{John 6:44–45; 15:1–16; 17}

for creation of a new being who,

in the name of the Word–God and by the Holy Spirit,

is transformed into an immortal child of God prepared for the eternity in the presence of God

{John 1:1–13; 14:15–17, 26; 16:13–15; 17; James 1:16–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; Ephesians; Colossians; Revelation 21; 22}.

Notes:

*1* Psalm 146(147):5 says: Μεγας ο Κυριος ημων, και μεγαλη η ισχυς Αυτου, και της συνεσεως Αυτου ουκ εστιν αριθμος.

Common translations [References *] tell: “Great is our Lord, and great is His strength/power, and His understanding/wisdom is infinite/beyond measure/beyond all telling”; however, they do not adequately convey the literal meaning of the logical block της συνεσεως Αυτου ουκ εστιν αριθμος.

The Greek word αριθμος defines quantitative measurement: quantity, number, measured lengths, summary, counting, and also science of numbers, and such expression as “empty number without meaning” [[for instance, as Sophocles says: αριθμος των λογων – number of empty/meaningless words]]. Hence, αριθμος cannot be applied to something that either has no measures or is not measurable as an element of its nature: such definition would be irrational, or at least inadequate.

The Old Testament Books of the Holy Scriptures, including the Psalms, are revelations–knowledge of God given by the Holy Spirit through the prophets who spoke by the name of God {John 5:39, 46; James 5:10; 1 Peter 1:10–12, 25; 2 Peter 1:19–21}. It cannot be inadequate expressions/descriptions in the words of God: the perfection is the attribute of God, while to err is the human lot, until God Himself opens the mind for complete understanding and then, the knowledge of God becomes the guide, the guardian, the rock, the foundation–firmament (στερεωμα*2*), the fortress, the Life and the Light of human soul–heart–mind {John 1; 3; 6; 8; 10; 14; 15; 16; 17; Proverbs 2:6–12; Psalm 17(18); 118(119); 146(147)}.

Furthermore, the ancient Greek [[conveyed with the alphabet, which is a simplified version of the Minoan hieroglyphs]], or Minoan–Ionian language – the language of Homer, which is a predecessor of Koine [[the common Greek, with which the New Testament was written down]] – is the language of the logical realities: the code for the system–creating thought at the highest levels of complexity. Hence, the apparent closeness sometimes is not the best choice for the interpreter. Besides, frequently, the actual meaning could be inferred or construed through analysis of the entire logical block or even completed sentence/message sustained or elaborated by other texts.

For instance, in the previous (to verse 5) verses {Psalm 146(147):2, 3, 4}, the prophets speak of the creative–maintaining–restorative actions of the Lord our God, such as

1/ the construction/establishment of the Jerusalem

2/ gathering of the dispersed ones of Israel who would dwell in the new city

3/ “Ο ιωμενος τους συντετριμμενους την καρδιαν, και δεσμευων τα συντριμματα αυτων": He – the Lord our God – heals the broken/destroyed in heart and binds up their breaks/destructions

4/ “Ο αριθμων πληθη αστρων, και πασιν αυτοις ονοματα καλων”: He – the Lord our God – numbers multitudes of stars and gives all of them names καλων – perfectly/good {as in Genesis 1:4, 25, 31: καλον/ καλα /καλα λιαν}.

The Psalm describes the activities of God at all levels of the universe perceivable by the mind: establishment of the city–dwelling (Jerusalem), gathering of its inhabitants (Israelites dispersed over other lands), healing/restoration/correction (ιωμενος) of humans with destroyed/broken heart, binding up/fastening (δεσμευων) their destructions (συντριμματα), and the entire cosmos – multitudes of all stars known and numbered by their Lord and Creator. Thus, the prophets tell of the Divine Might/Power that is manifested through establishment of the ordered wholenesses, within which the actions of God are not numbered: the place of dwelling, the dwellers – gathered together into the allotted for them settings and healed/restored to their optimum state, and the multitude of stars [[numbered and named – that is maintained according to their nature – within the space*20* (see Note *20* to the main text, further), in which the actions of God are observed by the mind]].  Furthermore, God counts (handles) Own possession perfectly/good.

Thus, the traditional translation of συνεσεως as understanding/wisdom might not be precise, and not only because the human mind is incapable of evaluating understanding and wisdom of God – either by numbers and quantities or by their absence.

Although the Greek compound word συνεσεως was interpreted [*] either as συνεσις (understanding/wisdom) derived from συνιημι (to put together mentally, to comprehend, to understand, to consider, to be wise) or as συνεση (prudence, good reasoning, discretion, caution, judgment, good sense, wisdom, discrimination), it has another origin and another meaning.

In particular, in a compound word συνεσεως: συν– is a particle with the main meanings of synergy of actions and completeness; ε– is a particle that denotes accomplishment of action, its past;  –σεω– is the main meaning–bearing part of the word, which might be the ancient modifiable root θε/σι as in θεω/θιος/σιος (God, deity, divine) and θεθεω/θεσις/θεσεωος (activities/manifestations of the divine) linked with τιθημι (θεις σεω/τισεω/τιθω τιθημι) [[for instance, compare modification of θε/ in ωθεω (to cast, push): ωθεωεωσμαιωσω]].

Tιθημι is the verb that carries meanings of establishment, institution, initiation, arrangement, gathering into the wholeness, transferring–conveying–transforming; for instance, to place/lay down, to create, to arrange, to give, to give up, to establish – that is the activities originally connected with the divine power of the Creator.

Furthermore, the Lord, in The Gospel According to John, speaks of

1/ His continuing works and also that His Father, Who is in Him, creates {John 1:1–18; 5:17; 9:4–5; 10:30; 14:6–27; 17}

2/ την ψυχην Μου τιθημι υπερ των προβατων – the Soul of Me I place/lay down (dedicate–give–establish–determine) for the sheep, and Εγω τιθημι την ψυχην Μουεξουσιαν Εχω θειναι αυτην [[where word θειναι that defines the action of God is a derivative of τιθημι]] – I place/lay down (dedicate–give–establish–determine) My Soul… authority I have to place/lay down it {John 10:15, 17, 18}.

Thus, the Word–God speaks of a new act of creation accomplished by God. He is the Στερεωμα*2* [[see Note *2* to the main text, further]] of a new living being whose heart is built by Him –– by His Blood and His Body, and firmly established (εστερεωθη) in Him, nourished by Him –– by the Daily Bread given by the Heavenly Father. By the Word–God – through Whom all that exist comes into being, lives, and enters the eternity – the human heart–mind is empowered to receive the Holy Spirit and to become the new temple–dwelling of the Living God: the child of God that will live by God and in God. In continuation of the original act of creation, because of the Word–God – in Christ and by Christ, and by the Holy Spirit, new creations came into being to live in the presence of God and to serve God through the eternity {Genesis 1:1–31; 2:1; 1 King 2:1, 3;  John  1:1–13; 3; 10; 11; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; Ephesians; Colossians 1:10–28; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}. It happened because Lord Jesus Christ has placed His Soul for His sheep – His very Own ones given to Him by God the Father – enabling them to accept the Life–giving Holy Spirit and thus, to live forever:

the Word–God

accomplished the will of God the Father, which He was sent to accomplish

called, liberated, healed, restored, gathered, fed, taught, illuminated, led to the Father

those who are His very Own ones

cast the Divine Fire – the Spirit of God – upon the earth/His followers–humans to create a new being

that is the temple–dwelling of God and His child–slave–friend–servant through the eternity

and thus, manifested the Divine Creative–healing–restoring Might/Power of God

{Luke 6:19; 7:21–23; 9:51–56; 12:49; John 1; 3; 4; 6; 8:12, 31–36; 10; 11; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17;

Acts 2:1–4; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–5}.

This manifestation of the Divine Creative Might/Power as accomplishment of the will of God was predicted by the Psalms, in which the prophet said that God sends forth His Spirit and they are created, and His Word – and they are healed, delivered from their affliction, and restored from their διαφθορον – total ruin {Psalm 103(104):30; 106(107):20}.

Thus, the literal translation of the compound word συνεσεως  should indicate manifestation of the Divinity: the act of actualization/accomplishment of the Divine Creative Might/Power.

Therefore, in Psalm 146(147):5 {similarly to Isaiah 40:25–26}, God, through His prophets, reveals to His followers some attributes of His creative might: the manifestation of the Divine Power/Might is not numbered. So, the literal translation should be “Great is the Lord, and great is His strength, and the manifestation of His Divine Might/Power is not numbered.”

*2* The eternal life in the realm/kingdom of God Who is the Spirit {John 4:24} is possible only if the Word–God becomes the στερεωμα, within which, by the power of God and because of the will of God, a human being is transformed/re–created into the immortal child of God: the certain firstfruit of creations made in likeness of the Word–God – the Word of Truth {James 1:18; 1 John 3:1–2; Romans 8:28–30; Colossians 1:9–22; 3:10–11}, the one who lives by the Holy Spirit and who is enabled to withstand the eternity in the presence of God the Spirit {while the Old Testament’s human being is not able to see God and live – Exodus 33:18–20}.

The Word–God creates the foundation – στερεωμα {as the firmament of the new world – Genesis 1:6; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23–25; Ephesians 2:10} within the human essence and gives the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life: on the στερεωμα, by the Holy Spirit, the immortal child of God is created–built–established with knowledge of God, by the Power of God, and with the Energy issuing from God {in: Psalm 103(104):30Εξαποστελεις το Πνευμα Σου και κτισθησονται – Thou shall send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created( established/made); Psalm 17(18):1–2: Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μουI love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament; John 1:1–4, 12–13; 3:5–6; 7:37–39; 16:13–15; Ephesians 2:1–22}.

The knowledge of God, which is the eternal life is the knowledge given by the Word–God: His Law, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good, that is the everlasting life {John 17:3, 6} – this knowledge makes possible life by the Holy Spirit, because this knowledge became the inner foundation and structure of the new creation of God in Christ and by Christ destined from the beginning of times for the eternity with God.

When the one accepts the Word–God, the knowledge that He gives – the knowledge of God (knowledge of the law of God, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good), becomes the Firmament {Κυριος Στερεωμα μου – The Lord is my Firmament – Psalm 17(18):2} – the foundation of the one’s intelligence/reasoning and the framework–space, in which a human being

evolves into the dwelling of God

is enabled to accept the Holy Spirit of God – the Divine Fire

Who ignites the eternal life within the creature of dust

is prepared for the eternity in the presence of God.

By Christ and in Christ – by the Word–God and in the Word–God – an immortal human child of God comes into being and will be resurrected/transformed for the eternity with God {John 1:12–13; 3:16–17; 11:25–26; 17; 1 Peter 1; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians 2; 1 Corinthians 15; Galatians 3:26–29; 4:6–7; Colossians 1; 2; 3}.

Therefore, when the Old Testament’s texts tell that God is the prophet’s στερεωμα {Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μου, και καταφυγη μου, και Ρυστης μου – I love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament, and my refuge, and my Deliverer – Psalm 17(18):1–2} and the human heart is firmly established (εστερεωθη) in God {1 Kings 2:1}, they convey knowledge revealed by the Holy Spirit {John 5:39; 2 Peter 1:19–21}:  man shall live by God, because of God, and in God {John 5:39–47; 6:45–58; 10:11–18, 27–30; 17:21–26}.

*8* Heathenism is a collective name for a special body of knowledge that is based upon multi–deity theology, with such objects of worship as idols – deified beasts, snakes, insects, humans, astronomical objects, forces of nature, objects of nature – ocean, sea, rivers, trees, mountains, rocks, man–made stone, wooden, and clay statues, “graven images,” human establishments – states, political parties, ideas, doctrines, and other images and hand–made material things – idols.

Making of images has two phases: work of the imagination as creation of thought, and work of hands when the invisible fruit of imagination – the created thought, is materialized into visible perceivable material things: books, statues, figurines, idols – social, political, religious institutions, etc.

The first phase embraces the invisible work of imagination inside the mind when the mind assembles, modifies, and re–arranges the images of the surrounding material world. The imagination has only one source – the world of the matter, yet, with the knowledge of the world of the matter, the mind is able neither to comprehend nor to reflect the realm of God–Spirit. It means that the mind must not compose own image of God, because the knowledge it creates itself from the images of the material world is inadequate, therefore, false.

A human mind is the perfect system–creating reality, and the human thought is an accomplished creation – system, which changes the surrounding world and influences existence of men. A human being was created in the image and after likeness of God; it means that the human mind is the perfect system–creating reality only when it is focused on God the Creator and so tuned to the divine energy of creation. When the mind creates the false image of God, it instantly distorts and disorders/modifies own essence – the core structures correlated with the meanings of truth, purposes, and values, which sustain existence of man and his world. The modified/distorted structures are incapable to perceive the divine energy of creation and to transform it into the life–sustaining energy form: the knowledge of life – own as well as the co–related beings, realities, and systems. The modification inevitably results in perversion and then, destruction, because incapacitated and modified/perverted with the false knowledge structures of the mind are incapable to sustain normal/natural existence of the mind and the body; consequently, the program of annihilation of a body is activated.

The fundamental nature (and therefore, its potency, sphere and limits of influence and possibilities of destruction) of heathenism might be inferred through analysis of the Orphic doctrine, the core of which might be identified in almost all survived heathen religions and cults focused on worship of the arch–evil.

The Orphics compiled the doctrine of the “divine absolute animal“ –  the dragon–serpent–beast. Invention of the deified universal serpent–beast made possible numerous cults of animals of all kinds and especially, provided the justification of sacrifice of human beings to the beasts, because the ancient diviners characterized the human nature as the inferior to the bestiality of animal “gods.” The basic logic of idol–worship is based on the assumption that if the supreme deity is the beast with wings, tails, paws, bull heads, etc., those in the image of beast are the superior creatures.

The influence of Orphic doctrine might be traced in all heathen cults and doctrines which sustain the contemporary atheistic and neo–heathen systems of thought.

Some researchers refer to the Orphism as the source of the “divine Muse of Homer” and of the “sublime theology” of Pythagoras and Plato [e.g., Thomas Taylor qtd. and ref. in Hall (2003) 74].

The Orphic theological assertions reveal the actual foundation of Plato’s philosophy, especially, the concept of forms–ideas–archetypes, with which he evidently, followed Pythagoras (who was initiated into the Egyptian–Eleusinian–Orphic–other mysteries, and asserted that all material objects have forms as their essence): indeed, if the main – universal or “absolute” – bestial deity contains the forms of wild beasts why it cannot accommodate the forms of all other creatures and objects, which compose the Universe?

Consequently, if to substitute the philosophical “essence–idea–form” for the Orphic “image,” the ultimate meaning of Platonism (recognized as the pinnacle of philosophical thought) is revealed as a set of phantasms – the irrational imaginary world of heathen cults of serpent. The wordings covering the essence of Platonism and issuing doctrines should not conceal the true meaning: the heathens (for instance, the Minoans, Phoenicians, Orphics, etc.) who made this imaginary world into actuality of their daily life, worshiped the “divine absolute animal” – the serpent and their prime deity conceived by the cosmic arch–serpent/dragon – by devouring children, and in this imaginary world, humans are the beasts made after the image of their bestial deities. The Orphic doctrine [in: Graves; Hall; The Sunset Knowledge] became the foundation not only of the Greek heathen philosophy; it also sustains Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, theosophy, and many other cults and assumptions, including those developed within the framework of the Western civilization.

For instance, with the Orphic logic, Manly P. Hall not only infers supremacy of the “philosophy’s God” over “a personal God”; he refers to Orphism as to “theology,” which cannot be destroyed and which “in a more philosophic era…shall shine forth again with splendor undiminished” [Hall (2005) 218, 224]. Indeed, this “undiminished splendor” of Orphic myths identified as “philosophy” and “theology” still “shines” through the contemporary sciences.

In particular, the contemporary continuation of the ancient beast–worship might be diagnosed, for instance, in transhumanism and in the logic of the contemporary darwinism– and atheism–driven ethics–free scientists and researchers. The followers of transhumanism are busy by designing improvement of the human nature and manufacturing of supermen – they attempt to chain man to their understanding of perfection and to “lift man up” to the new creature with abilities, which would overcome both – human and animal – natures. In their hatred to God and to His creations, firstly, to man, the darwinism/atheism–driven scientists downgrade man and throw the human nature down, at the level of animals. In fact, they are in the state of secret, yet constant, war with the remnants of the human reason.

With time, the logic of Orphics, through the doctrines of Plato and Aristotle, became the common foundation of thinking and learning, on which the Western and other civilizations built on Plato–Aristotle’s social–political–philosophical utopia come to being, strive for existence, and collapse, because by their very nature they are not capable of achievement the purposes for which they are created. This logic is logic of simplification, logic of collapse and disintegration incompatible with the logic of the evolution, with which the evolving systems capable to sustain evolution of mind and its creations (e.g., societies and other establishments) should be designed and maintained.

For instance, the Orphic doctrine sustains Plato–Aristotle’s philosophy, which embodied the heathen vision of the Universe and the “ideals of humanity” into the chain of most destructive concepts:

slavery as the natural foundation of the society

man as a part/property of the community

supremacy of the good of the community over the good,

happiness, liberties, and interests of a person

mandatory restriction of the freedom of thought and religion,

control and regulation of the life of members/citizens

as the means of survival of the “perfect” community–state

termination of the different–minded

as the legitimate practice of the community–state,

which has to protect itself from the wrath of deities by expulsion or execution of

atheists, followers of another cults, and different–minded of any kind,

therefore, by sacrificing life and well–being of its members–men

for the sake of the good of men’s establishment.

With philosophical doctrines and utopias compiled by Plato and Aristotle and elaborated by the flock of their followers, the Orphic myths eventually penetrated Western and some Eastern theological schools, which admit heathen philosophy as a legitimate source of the theological knowledge…

The Orphism is the most distinctively formed core of the heathenism. Hence, analysis of the different philosophical, religious, and political doctrines rooted in Orphism

a/ facilitates understanding of formation and development of different versions of the same arch–lies {Genesis 3:1–6}, from which the multitude of different false religions, cults, and ideologies sprung

b/ leads to the conclusion that all of them have the same the essence: rejection of true God and acceptance of idol–worship – assertion of existence of “other truth” and “other gods.”

“The New That Never Was Before

…The law of irreversibility of cognition and the law of irreversibility of the matter are the constant part of the laws with which the temporal world of men is built.

When the ancient heathen philosophers came to understanding of the phenomenon of irreversibility, they invented a special deity: the inexorable Fate, the embodiment of the power that keeps everyone in his very own inferno of fixed destiny as a slave is kept in fetters by his ruthless owner. They imagined their world as the flux – the stream of changes that creates life, yet, their reality was the dark cage of prisoners without true knowledge of the world and, firstly, without knowledge of freedom.

In the heathen world, the destiny is inexorable indeed, because if there is no knowledge of the Law of God – the main Law that defines the human nature, each thought and each action might violate the Law. The violations of the Law lead to the perversion of the nature, that is to suffering, mental and physical illness, disorders of all kinds, and premature death. The way of the evil is the same for everyone and it has the same stages and the same end: nothing can be changed, because the main pattern of the evil always is unvarying:

degeneration –→ disorder –→ collapse –→ death–→ disintegration

Starting with Moses, the Prophets not only diagnosed the symptoms and omens of the coming disasters, wars, plagues, and other calamities; they told the reason, why the grief and suffering would come {e.g., The Book of Jeremiah}.

For instance, Isaiah the Prophet left the concise description of the Past, Present, and the Future of the earth, which will be ruined for the sins of her inhabitants, because they broke the everlasting covenant and served the evil instead of God. He also mentions the same two patterns that are the essence of the world and that are completed in two different ways: one that is concluded with ruin, destruction, and collapse and another leading to salvation {Isaiah 24:1–21; 26:1–15}.

So, in the world of those who are given the knowledge of God, the choice is a possible.

Any human mind that is born into the world without God, in fact, has no choice: all that it can learn, contemplate, invent, comprehend, create – everything is evil or serves the evil; there is no exit from the realm of the evil, and there is no knowledge that other realm exists.

The essence of the heathen world and the meaning of life within such a world might be inferred from Isaiah the Prophet’s writings concerning those who commit iniquities (e.g., idol–worshipers, heathens, apostates): they live in ignorance, and they are unable to understand why and from where all disasters come: they are as the blind who feel the wall, who feel at noon as at midnight. While they expect enlightenment, they walk in perplexity; their ways are destruction and misery. They are misled, so they may be devoured {Isaiah 9:12–16; 59:4–10}.

The same description might be applied to those who are born as the heathens and do not know true God: the ignorance does not protect from consequences of deeds committed in ignorance…”

The law of irreversibility of cognition controls the dimension of time; without irreversibility of cognition, the optimization and development as the increase of mind’s complexity are not possible (the increase of complexity is the development, also referred to as optimization and evolution).

“…Wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

Wisdom might be also defined as comprehension of the Law of God and the subsequent ability to observe the Law – to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law of God into daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

At the level of the human mind, wisdom is the power that enables the mind

a/ to comprehend the Law of God that controls existence of the world

b/ to create invincible establishments/systems for achievement of the purposes that actualize the will of God within the human world

c/ to accomplish own evolution, for instance, as development–achievement of the maximal potency of reasoning, comprehension and creation of knowledge…”

*13* Cohesive power is the main system–maintaining force:

– it realizes, directs, and maintains circulation of the intra–system energy–information flow and the information exchange with the environment

– it unifies all system’s components into the purposeful wholeness.

– it regulates creation of new knowledge and circulation of accumulated knowledge.

The cohesive power is manifested through the flow of data–information–knowledge, which circulates within the system and supplies the system’s components with data–information–knowledge that sustain and control their existence.

Concerning cohesive power, see Introduction to the Systems Logic – file for download @ website Systems Logic [http://systemslogic-by-alicesofia.net], Page Library_1

*14* Technique of modeling is based on simplification, which results in creation of insufficient or even false knowledge. To create a manageable model, the researchers discard some so–called nuisance parameters, which usually include non–manageable, not–known, and accepted to be insignificant data, factors, events. As the result, the model is created with limited initial parameters, which make it unreliable in the actuality, in which the discarded or not–known data, factors, events could be decisive in the matters that might have vital importance for the consumers of the results for the sake of which the model has been created. In general, the technique of modeling with its limited language of description is not adequate to actual complexity of the considered phenomenon, which in the case of human mind, has the complexity incompatible with the measures utilized to evaluate the matter and with the techniques utilized to formalize the results of evaluation. As always, any kind of research conducted at inadequate levels of complexity is pointless.

*15* Ecclesiastes says: God will bring everything to judgment with everything that was possible (παρεωραμενω) – whether the good, or whether the evil {Ecclesiastes 12:13–14}.

The Greek word παρεωραμενω  is a derivative of παρεωπαρειμι; the meanings that are conveyed by παρειμι include two groups: I. to be present, to be available, to be possible, to be in power of someone/something; II. to pass by; to penetrate; to enter; to approach.

It looks like the text of the Holy Scriptures {Ecclesiastes 12:13–14} speaks of the ability/power to utilize the knowledge for accomplishment of all that was possible–allowed–programmed–given into authority or accessible to accomplish within the particular settings, with the particular resources, and with the learned knowledge by the mind that achieved a particular degree of development.

According to the Gospel {Matthew 25:31–46}, in the end, God will judge everyone by accomplished deeds (whatever the one did to the others) and by missed opportunities to create the good for the others.

In other text, St. Paul the Apostle speaks of the trial by the fire of everything that had been done during the earthly life {1 Corinthians 3:13–15}.

Therefore, the meaning of completeness/perfection could be perceived as the ability to choose and to execute the optimal strategy (resulting in development– achievement–creation of the optimum) within the settings that accommodate life of the mind.

For instance, could the judgment mentioned by Ecclesiast and the trial by the Fire referred to by St. Paul the Apostle be evaluation of

1/ the developed by a human being abilities and skills necessary for embodiments of the words of God into the thoughts, words, and deeds

2/ the practical results achieved by the one who lived within the allotted settings (the earth structured by the time–space–complexity parameters) and achieved a particular degree of development, which allowed to accommodate/express/embody the particular/personal faith and vision of love to the Word–God with the given–absorbed–learned knowledge–wisdom–power bestowed by the Holy Spirit because of the Word–God {John 14:6–28; 15; 16:7–16, 27; 17}?

Could the one perceive such judgment as evaluation of preparedness for the purposes of God – the works that the one could be expected to create in the next phase of life {e.g., Revelation 22:1–5; Daniel 7:9–10; Psalm 103(104):4}?

*16* Baldad the ruler of Saucheans, one of the Job’s friends, who came to comfort Job and who eventually evoked anger of God because he was not right in his reasoning {Job 42:7–9}, expresses similar opinion {Job 8:9}:  we are of yesterday, and comprehend nothing; for our life upon the earth is a shadow/illusion (σκια – shadow, illusion, phantom).

“The Completion

…For all things there is the time, and the time of completion for everything under the heaven…

{Ecclesiastes 3:1}

In Greek, the Solomon’s expression is precise: Τοις πασιν ο χρονος, και καιρος τοω παντι πραγματι υπο τον ουρανον – For all things there is the time, and the time of completion for everything under the heaven {Ecclesiastes 3:1}.

Solomon differentiates three settings allotted for the affairs of man:

– there is the time – χρονος

– there is the time of completion, final decision, or act, when all things come into the focus and everything is completed – καιρος

– there is the framework, within which the world was created–structured, or the firmament of the second day of creation – στερεωμα*e*1* – also called the Heaven – ουρανον {Genesis 1:6–10}. Within this framework, or “under the Heaven,” χρονος and καιρος reign:

– everything is born for a purpose within the measured finite settings (χρονος – governed by the law of irreversibility of cognition)

– everything accomplishes (or fails to accomplish) the purpose of its existence and reaches the time of actualization–fulfillment–completion (καιρος)

– after καιρος, everything either dissipates to free the time–space–complexity settings for the next actors or ascends at the higher level of complexity {continues existence for achievement of other purposes, at another time–space–complexity settings; one of the meanings of evolution is an increase of complexity}.

In general, these three settings define the cyclical nature of our world created according to the specific readings of the universal law – the Law of God.

The framework–firmament–heaven embraces the totality of time–space–complexity entities/networks composed with the energy fields controlling the cycles of energy transformation (life is a purposeful cycle of energy transformations). These settings or specific networks of the energy fields might be seen also as the unity of the interconnected worlds, which accommodate the developing totality of the cycles of creation {John 5:17} and sustain life of different kinds of living beings–embodiments of the divine energy accomplished according to the universal law and with the universal power. The unity of energy–law–power maintains the Heaven and the world of men. The time – χρονος – makes possible achievement of the purposes, therefore, actualization of the cycles of life. The time of completion – καιρος  –  is the time–setting when three events happen:

1/ the system (the human mind or a human establishment, e.g., empire) achieves the maximal potency, which it has been designed and is capable to achieve during its life–cycle

2/ the system actualizes its maximal potency and embodies the accumulated knowledge into the acts of creation or destruction of other systems

3/ the system completes its purposes.

The human mind cannot change χρονος, yet, it has a freedom to choose or to create the path toward own καιρος.  This path (the human life, existence of an empire, civilization, nation, corporation, or of any other human establishment) differs, mostly, by the initial complexity and the settings within which the system is destined to fulfill the purposes. In general, this path might be seen as a summary of derivatives

a/ the Past, which the mind, for instance, carries as the genetic composition of the body it controls, and which, in particular, defines the present manageability of the matter {Exodus 34:6–11; Hosea 4:6–7; Wisdom 8:19–20}, mostly through physical individual abilities and potency to perceive, access, and utilize the resources needed for achievement of the purposes

b/ the vision of truth {or the remnants of this vision in those who became incapable to have the place for the Truth in their mind, e.g., in: Isaiah 6:10}, which defines the abilities to discern the Law behind the totality of events and settings, to evaluate own compliance with the Law, and to act according (or contrary)  to the Law (that is according/contrary to own nature, which is defined by the Law) therefore, to cognize the knowledge, which would allow accomplishment the purposes of evolution (the knowledge of good) or anti–evolution (the knowledge of evil)

c/ the accumulated potency of created–learned knowledge of the good and the evil…”

*19* The main “achievement” of the Orphics is that they unified concepts of reincarnation, spiral evolution, and cult of the arch–evil in the image of the serpent (serpentine theology) into the Orphism – the theological–philosophical doctrine that became the foundation for the second framework of the knowledge – heathenism.

The Orphism became the root of many heathen religions and cults, especially, the cults of serpents/reptiles – the cults of death, in which the attributes of deities include snakes and horned animals. The Orphism is mythical serpentine theology; that is why, in the Gospels, the followers of Orphism and its derivatives are referred to as “offspring of vipers,” as the sons of the arch–evil – the ancient serpent of Genesis, as the ones who, within them, do not have place for the Word of God {Matthew 3:7–12; 15:1–20; 23:1–35; Mark 7:5–13; Luke 7:29–35; 16:13–17; John 8:37–47; Genesis 3:1–6, 14–16}.

*23* During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man, of whom St. Peter the Apostle and St. Paul the Apostle write: ο κρυπτος της καρδιας ανθρωπος – the hidden heart of man {in: 1 Peter 3:4}, and the inner man who is being renewed – ο εσωθεν ανακαινουται  – day by day, while the outer man (body of flesh) is being decayed {in: 2 Corinthians 4:16}, is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God.

St. Paul the Apostle refers to such a new [[renewed]] creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος.

When the theological subtleties are not a subject of consideration, I use a brief contemporary and all–including (because a human being is the wholeness) definition – the mind.

*24* A definition of civilization from Concept of Civilization (file for download @ my website Systems Logic by Alice–Sofia [http://systemslogic–by–alicesofia.net], page Library_1):

“…civilization is all about knowledge.

Each civilization reflects a degree of development of human mind; it embodies the mind’s knowledge of God, knowledge of itself, and knowledge of the world into which it was born either to evolve or to degenerate.

The essence of civilization might be envisioned as a set of patterns of knowledge creation, accumulation, consuming–learning, transfer, and embodiment into

a/ knowledge at different levels of complexity, which sustains life of the entire civilization as the wholeness of its (sub)systems: social, political, religious, and other establishments

b/ interconnections among people, among people and their establishments, and among the people’s establishments

c/ manipulating the world of the matter [[for example, manufacturing, construction, and other fruits of the technical progress as abilities to organize and facilitate labor, to modify environment and conditions of existence, and to advance in manipulation of knowledge: its creation, dissemination/intra–system circulation, learning, accumulation, preservation, and transmitting]]

Civilization might be seen as a process of arrangement/organizing (or structuring) of the material structures capable of sustaining processes of evolution and degeneration of mankind. Such organizing or structuring  is accomplished through reading/actualization of the code, which defines the essence of civilization, into the material structures, establishments, and other creations of men. This code is the set of patterns of knowledge creation, accumulation, absorption–learning, and circulation–transmitting–transfer…”

Excerpt

“Creation of Man:

Process

…Having purposed, He brought us forth by the Word of Truth

to be the certain furstfruit of His creatures…

{James 1:18}

…the actions of the Old Testament prophets, in particular, restoration of the altar by Elias the prophet {3 Kings 18:30–39}, were intended to draw the people’s mind and then, perception to the source of everything – God – by illustration of the power of God, conveying knowledge of God, and explaining the nature of the world and, especially, the threats (consequences) of apostasy {e.g., Deuteronomy}. The words and actions of the prophets conveyed the knowledge, which has to evoke the normal perception of their listeners and make them capable of accomplishment the purposes for accomplishment of which they have been created.

In other words, it might be said that the mind is the energy entity/being inseparable of the wholeness – the certain form of life: a human being that consists of derivatives of the energy and the matter. One of the functions of the mind is transfer of the Divine/universal energy into the world that consist (is composed of) the different creations/derivatives of this Divine/universal energy, which are created to exist at the different levels of complexity. All creations of God – the entire evolving world given into the dominion of man {Genesis 1; 2} – compose the living evolving entity created by God for His purposes and according to His Will.

From such a point of view, the prophets work as the receivers and distributors of the life–sustaining energy/knowledge, which could re–direct the mind of their contemporaries from the matter–derivative to its Source – God, to tune it to the Source of the energy, to prepare the mind for acceptance of the life–sustaining energy coming from God – the energy that would eliminate insufficiencies of a particular mind and lead it toward evolution/development of the optimal potency.

If the ordinary people work with the material things, the prophets work*E*13* with the energy – knowledge, which determines the necessity of creation, defines existence, and initiates collapse/disintegration of the material things, and which might transform the mind of another human being into a receiver–transmitter of the energy/knowledge similar to the mind of the prophet. Consequently, in the terms of Isaiah the prophet {Isaiah 45:8–12; 64:8–9}, the prophets might be seen as the slaves/servants {cf.: Jeremiah 42:15; Ezekiel 38:17; Revelation 10:7; 11:18} who prepare the human clay for the creative works of the Master – the Lord our God.

The work of the prophets was completed with coming of John the Baptist {Matthew 11:13}: all the knowledge needed for preparation to the meeting with the Messiah and Redeemer of man was given, and all those who were chosen by God were prepared for the works of God. The wise maidens, who in the darkness waited coming of the Master for the wedding, had their lamps ready to be lit and to shine {Matthew 25:1–13}; likewise, the people, who from the beginning are the very Own of God, were ready to accept the Divine Light that would let them enter the house of their Lord and Master and would make them the lamp for the others who, along with them, would come to the Father of all – the Father of lights {Psalm 17(18):28; Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 5:14–16; John 6:37–47; 9:5; 14:1–3, 6; Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15–20; James 1:17}…”

Notes:

*E*13* If to analyze the deeds of Elias, which also his successor – Elisha has done {3 Kings; 4 Kings}, the one might infer that, in the current terms, they operated with the complete power over the matter and elements of the world (parted the water, purified the poisonous water and destroyed the poison, multiplied oil and the food, revived the dead, healed or sent leprosy, and punished the evil ones). For such works, Elias and Elisha had to be enabled

1/ to change nuclear structures of the existing matter transforming it into another substance (destruction of the poison, purification of the water spring)

2/ to create the structured matter directly from the universal energy (multiplication of food and oil)

3/ to control functions of a human body – to reverse disintegration (healing of the sick ones) and to initiate disintegration (sending disease on the corrupted and sinful ones)

4/ to restore the set of the energy fields, which accommodates existence of a living human being at the specified time–space point of the Universe (reanimation of the dead)

5/ to manipulate the forces of the Nature (to bring down rain and fire from the skies)

6/ to manipulate the energy fields, which control the force of gravity (e.g., water was parted to let the Prophet cross the river)

7/ to ascend to the level where the time–space–complexity limitations do not exist (the ability to see the Future).

Perhaps, the abilities of the prophets might be at least partially understood with the systems concept of the Universe. For example, the healing power of the prophet is the consequence of the ability to control transformations of the universal energy. Every living being exists within the focus of the energy fields. These fields accommodate the purposeful wholeness of specific cycles of energy transformations. The results of these transformations are the energy formations, energy–information, and energy–information matter, which compose a particular system and maintain its existence in a form of a purposeful and evolving being.

If the transformations of energy are consistent with the universal law, the system/being functions properly and achieves the state of optimum – develops and realizes own maximal potency.

If the transformations of energy deviate from the universal pattern, they produce the energy forms with insufficient complexity, and the consequent intra–system processes become distorted or insufficient: the system becomes unable to scan and embody the universal code adequately.

The insufficiency has the domino effect, which results in subsequent distortion of other processes and culminates in the perversion of the system’s nature. The perversion of the nature triggers alteration in the parameters controlled by the energy fields. Change of the controlled parameters triggers the unspecified response of the energy fields, which activates the system’s self–annihilation. In the apparent stage of self–annihilation, a human being might experience lethal physical illness (e.g., leprosy so many times mentioned in the Scriptures) or serious mental disorders (e.g., “possession with unclean spirits,” insanity, hallucinations, etc.). The correction of the distorted intra–system processes or healing of diseases is possible through the correction the intra–system processes, which results in subsequent adjustments of the parameters controlled by the energy fields. Thus, when the prophet heals the sick, he works as the transceiver–transmitter of a specific form of the universal energy with the highest levels of complexity sufficient for restoration of the normal energy regime of a sick being/insufficient system. At the level of the matter, restoration of the normal energy regime might be detected as the restoration of normal behavior, correction of DNA, dissolution of tumor, unexpected recovery of patients with incurable diseases, etc.

However, the power over the energy of the material world is not the main feature of the prophet. The transcendent abilities and control over the forces of the nature are the auxiliary features: they accompany transformation of the prophet into the extraordinary being (in fact, into just normal being who lives in accordance with the original nature created by God in His image and likeness) whose life is focused on God…”

“The Depths

…Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord…

{Psalm 129(130):1}

From the abyss of despair and from the very essence–depths of the heart, comes the Prophet’s plea of mercy, forgiveness, and redemption.  The theme of the utter desolation can be easily found in the Psalms, in the Book of Job, and visions of the Old Testament Prophets. All of them are hungry and thirsty for the presence of God, for the knowledge of God, and for a slightest possibility to discern His mighty hand in the course of the mankind’s history.

In all times, the prayers of the righteous evoke the images of a stranger in the desert who is lost and who is dying of thirst, of the misery of a rejected and lonely man who runs away from his enemies and has no means to redeem himself, and of the poverty of a bankrupt who has nothing left to pay his debts. They roam through the depths of despair and lament their iniquities before their sins are annihilated, their debts forgiven, and they reach the life–giving waters of the presence of God {Job 30:19–26; 1 Kings 22:1–2;  Psalm 39(40):12–13; 41(42):2–3; 62(63):1;  64(65):9; 142(143):1–2, 6–11; Isaiah 64:5–7; Matthew 6:9–15; 11:28; 18:23–35; John 4:7–14}.

The main reasons for the misery of men – strangers and debtors – are the same in all the times: deprivation of knowledge/presence of God and the consequent loss of hope. However,

if in the Old Testament, at the time of promise,

the wisest man comes to the conclusion that

knowledge of God is the complete righteousness and

comprehension of God’s power over man is the root of immortality

{Wisdom 15:3}

in the New Testament, at the time of fulfillment,

God teaches His followers:

the Word of God is the Light giving the freedom,

the authority to be the child of God,

and the life everlasting

{John 1:1–4, 9–13; 6:44–47; 8:31–36, 51; 9:5, 39; 11:25–26; 14; 15; 16; 17}.

With the teachings of God, it is possible to rise from the abyss of human misery into the presence of God. The human soul is a creation of God living by the breath of God, and a human being is the temple of the Living God –– all of us have been born to carry the Spirit of God and to imitate the mercy, love, and perfection of our God, Creator, and Father {Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4; Matthew 5:48; Luke 6:36; John 2:19–21; 4:24;  13:34; 14:23; 15:12–13, 17; 17:26; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; 2 Corinthians 3:17; 6:16; 1 John 3:16–17; 4:7–21}: this is the essence of human nature.

And I think, what if vessels of clay made to carry water or clay lamps made to illuminate darkness {Isaiah 64:8; Matthew 5:14–16} could have the faculty of deliberation, therefore, could understand the meaning of a purpose and decipher the purposes of own existence? Would their emptiness without water and their darkness without light (that is uselessness and nothingness because of the impossibility to fulfill their destination) be similar to desperation of the human heart deprived of God? “
