The New Year, the New Beginning

Sunday, December 14, 2014

Αγιος αγιος αγιος Κυριος Σαβαωθ,

πληρης πασα η γη της δοξης αυτου

…Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of the Hosts,

the whole complete earth is full of His glory…

{Isaiah 6:3}

…Glory in the highest to God,

and peace on earth, good will in men…

{Luke 2:14}

…the good news to you, a great joy, which will be to all the people,

because today the Savior, Who is Christ the Lord,

was born to you in the city of David

{Luke 2:10–11}

For God so loved the world that He gave His only–begotten Son,

that everyone believing in Him may not perish but have everlasting life

{John 3:16}

…Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who according to His great mercy having regenerated us

to a new hope…

{1 Peter 1:3}

…Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

Who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies with Christ…

…as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world for us to be holy and without blemish before Him in love,

predetermining us to adoption through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

to the praise of the Glory of His grace, in which He favored us in the Beloved…

{Ephesians 1:1–6}

…having purposed, He brought us forth by the Word of Truth,

for us to be the certain firstfruit of His creations…

{James 1:18}

Each year, December 25, the Christians celebrate Christmas – the day when the eternal Word–God, the Glory of God the Father, entered the temporal world of men as Lord Jesus Christ – the Savior, the Son of God and the human Child.

After manifestation of the Glory of God {Exodus 24:16–17; 33:18–23; 34:1–10}, the prophets, priests, and righteous men of the chosen nation began to dream of coming of God the Redeemer and fulfillment of His promises as the thirsty man in the desert dreams of the life–saving water; they lived by expectations of the eternal indestructible kingdom of righteousness and truth that God promised to establish forever, even with the meek and humbled ones who observe His law and live by Him {e.g., Psalm 129(130); Isaiah 9:2, 6–7; 40:5; 60:1–3; 66:22; Daniel 2:44–45; 7:13–14}. Through revelations given to the prophets, God guided and sustained His people who have to learn to live by every word of God {Deuteronomy 8:3; Luke 4:4}.

In the day when Lord Jesus Christ was born, the promise of salvation became the actuality of mankind: the Child is born to us, and the Son is given to us; His kingdom is everlasting, and His peace shall have no end {Isaiah 9:6–7}; the Word of Life became the Light of men, and the Glory of God opened for them the way into the kingdom of God {John 1:1–18; 17}.

In Christmas day, the Christians celebrate also own birth into the life everlasting: they are born by the Word of Life, and this Life no one is able to take from them  {Luke 1:30–55; 2:7–30; John 1:1–14, 17–18; 1 John 1:1–7; Romans 8:38–39}.

Isaiah the prophet foretold that the Glory of God would fill the whole complete*1* earth (πληρης πασα η γη) – the house of God, and this prophecy, as all Isaiah’s prophecies {e.g., Isaiah 6:1–7; 9:2–7; 40:3–5; 42:1–12, 16; 43:18–21; 44:6–7; 48:16–19; 53:1–12; 60:1–3; 61:1–11; 65:1–18; 66:22} became the actuality because of Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God, the Glory of God, the Son of God:

in Lord God Jesus Christ, man has seen and has touched God

because of Lord God Jesus Christ, the sins of man are forgiven

with Lord God Jesus Christ, man received the chance to become

an immortal child of God – the keeper of peace of God,

the temple–dwelling of the Holy Spirit, co–worker, field, and a new creation of God

{John 1:1–18; 3:16; 6:37–40; 10:30; 14; 15; 16; 17;

James 1:17–18; 1 John; 1 Peter 1; 2:1–10, 25; 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16; Hebrews 3:4–6}.

So, it had been done: the earth–man*2*, the creature of flesh {Genesis 2:7; 3:20; 6:3}, was filled with the Glory of God {Isaiah 6:1–7; John 17}. Through Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who is the Word and Glory of God, God created His dwelling with man {John 14:1–27; 17}.

At that crucial point of human history – 2014 years ago, in the night of Christmas, God entered the world of men to become the Redeemer, the only Mediator between God and man, the Savior Who would bestow onto a new creation – a child of God created in Christ and by Christ – love, blessing, peace of God, and open for a human child of God the eternity {Luke 1; 2; John 1:1–18; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John 3:1–2;  1 Corinthians 15:22–23, 45–57; 2 Corinthians 5:17–19; Ephesians 2:1–22; Colossians 1:10–22; 1 Timothy 2:5–6; Hebrews 12:22–24}.

In the night of Christmas, the new era of mankind began, and the inerasable border separated two phases of human history: time without Christ, and the eternity with God –– Lord God Jesus Christ gave each human being the chance to live forever {John 8:51; 11:25–26; 17; Ephesians 1:3–14; 2:1–22}.

The first manifestation of the new life in Christ, as the first breath of a newborn, is love to God: blessing, glorification, and thanksgiving to our God and Father, to Whom we come through His Son and our Savior, Lord God Jesus Christ.

So, each year, the Christians

– celebrate the birth of the Divine Child – Lord God Jesus Christ

Who is the Son of the Most High,

and Who became the Son of man

{Matthew 18:11–14; Luke 1:26–35; 2:8–20; 9:35, 56; John 6:69; 10:30; 14:9–11}

↓     ↑

– adore, worship, and glorify Lord God Jesus Christ – the Word–God,

Who is the love, hope, light, salvation, and freedom of men,

Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, Who fulfilled the promise that

man–earth again would see God in the completeness of perfection,

because God would make His dwelling with man

{John 6:44–69; 8:12, 31–36; 9:5; 14:1–26; 15; 16; 17}

↓     ↑

– thank and glorify Almighty God the Father for His mercy and love

{Matthew 18:11–14; John 3:16–18, 35–36; 6:38–40; 1 Peter 1; Ephesians 1; 2}.

The celebration of Christmas is all about God:

God – the Almighty Omnipotent Spirit, the Consuming Fire,

Whose presence a human being is not able to see and to live,

the glimpse of Whose tremendous horrifying and incomprehensible power

the people perceived

as the pillar of fire that protected them from their enemies

and as the smoking frightening fire, from within of which the Law was given

{Exodus  13:21–22; 14:24; 19:18; 20:18–20; Deuteronomy 4:1–20, 24, 40; 5:4;

Luke 12:49; John 4:24}

God – the Ancient of days Who rules the universe,

Whose throne the prophet sees as the Fire

and Whose power as the River of Fire

{Daniel 7:9–10}

God the Holy Spirit, The Most High God, Whose power

overshadowed the earth – a body of virgin Mary,

who became the blessed Holy Mother of the Son of God

{Luke 1:26–35; 2:6–14}

God – the merciful all–forgiving and loving Father Who gave us His Son*1*,

the Word–God, Redeemer, and Savior,

Who bestowed on those who believe in Him the authority to become the children of God

and to live forever

{Matthew 16:16–17; Luke 9:35; John 1:1–13}

And I think of the full or completed earth*2* – the dust, which is destined to become the temple of the Living God – to accommodate the Light and the Fire Who is our God {Deuteronomy 4:24; Luke 12:49; Hebrew 12:29}. Without God, there is nothing completed, beautiful, harmonious, wise, perfect. The moment when the human nature is unified with the Creator, is the moment of completion, coming of perfection and fulfillment of everything needed and wanted: the Glory of God fills the created things, the earth–dust–human being receives the Fire and the Light and becomes the dwelling–temple of God {Luke 12:49; John 1:1–13; 8:12; 9:5; 14; 15; 16; 17; Deuteronomy 4:24}.

Then, what else might be ever needed, if the life with God and the dwelling in His eternal kingdom are offered with forgiveness and love?

In Christmas, the tremendous incomprehensible power of God is revealed as the perfect Love of God the Father; by the mercy of God, His people are given perception of Christmas as the most peaceful moment of happiness and joy, without fear and suffering {John 3:16, 35–36; 1 John 4:9–21}. Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, gave His followers the authority to become children of the Divine Fire – the sparkles of the eternal Light who are to join God the Father, the Father of lights {Luke 12:49; John 1:12–14; 3:21; 6:37–40; 12:44–50; 14:1–27; 15:1–16, 26; 16:7–16, 27–28;  17; James 1:17–25; 1 John 3; 4; Ephesians 1; 2; Hebrews 12:29; Revelation 21:3–7; 22:1–5}:

Glory in the highest to God!

Let love and mercy of God the Father,

salvation of Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ,

and blessings of the Holy Spirit

be with all of us forever!

Merry Christmas!

*1* the Greek word πληρης conveys the meaning of fullness and completion. It denotes coming to fullness, conclusion, the highest stage accessible by the subject of consideration.

*2*  Man is earth – γη  {Genesis 3:20}.

The New Year, the New Beginning

…For there shall be a new heaven and a new earth.…

{Isaiah 65:17}

…Having purposed, He brought us forth by the Word of Truth,

for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures…

{James 1:18}

…I create completely new…

…I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending…

{Revelation 21:5, 6}

The people celebrate coming of a new year, because they anticipate coming of something new – the Future, which would be better than the Past and the Present.

For those who believe in Lord God Jesus Christ and follow His commands – for the Christians who are brought forth by the Word of Truth, the Word–God, to be the temple–dwelling of the Living God and to do the works of good according to the will of God, the Future has been determined as the immortality with God {John 5:21–30; 14:23–27; 17:1–6, 24–26; James 1:17–18; 1 Peter 1:23–35; 2; 5:10–11; 2 Peter 1:10; 3:10–15; Ephesians 2:4–10, 13–22; 4:22–24; Colossians 1; 3; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19–20; 2 Corinthians 6:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:9, 23; Romans 8:28–39}; this Future has formed for them the actuality of the Present.

The Christians are chosen to be the royal priesthood, a holy nation, “a people for possession,” so they may openly speak of the excellence*1*, the Absolute Good*2* of the beloved God Who has called them out of the darkness into His marvelous light. They are the people of God, because He took mercy on them and became the Shepherd and the Overseer of their souls. For the Christians, the beginning of a new year marks the new step on their road to home, into the Kingdom of God the Father: they are led by the Light, although the darkness of the evil overwhelms the world, and they follow the Absolute Good, although the many serve the evil {Matthew 19:16–19; John 1:1–5, 9; 3:16–21; 8:12; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 2:9, 25; 2 Peter 2; 1 John 1:1–7;  2 Corinthians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:1– 23; Isaiah 42:16; 60:1–2}.

But what about all the others – is it proper for the Christians to follow the Light leaving the others behind, in darkness of ignorance and in suffering caused by spiritual hunger and thirst?

Hence, for some, the New Year, as a new step toward the eternity, might begin with sharing their treasure of knowledge and love of God with the others who are willing to accept it, similarly to the festive food that the one shares with those who accepted his invitation to come to dine with him on the New Year eve. For a Christian, such treasure of the knowledge of God is embodied into the ability/power to do the deeds of kindness, love, mercy by sharing own resources and possessions, and other works of the good according to the commands of Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God {Matthew 5:38–48; 6; 7; Luke 6:27–38; 10:27–37; 14:12–23; John 13; 14; 15}.  In other words, accomplishment of the second greatest commandment of God – to love the others as the one loves himself {Matthew 22:36–40; Mark 12:29–31; Luke 10:27}

begins with the ability to envision himself “in the shoes”/at the place/in circumstances of the needy one

proceeds through comprehension of suffering of the needy one,

which results in compassion and subsequent desire

to lessen suffering and to assist in finding the way out of the slavery of the evil

is completed with deeds of mercy and kindness – by doing whatever the one is able/empowered to do

for elimination of insufficiencies, lessening the suffering, liberation from ignorance,

and facilitating life of the needy one through all means available.

Hence, those who live by the words of God must create the good even within the world of the evil – the world of insufficiency, suffering, desperation, and despair: they should feed the hungry ones, assist the needy, sick, and deprived of hope ones, and especially, the ones whose souls are hungry and thirsty for the life–giving knowledge of God. Then, because of their deeds, the Light of God will shine upon them and through their deeds will be seen to the others, so they will be empowered by God to help the others to find the Way to love and mercy of God within the poor, bleak, and miserable world that serves the evil {Matthew 5:38–48; Luke 6:27–36; 14:15–23; John 7:7; 12:46; 13:34–35; 15:12; James 1:17–27; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Galatians 5:13–26; Ephesians; Colossians; 1 Thessalonians 5:4–23; Romans 8:12–39; Psalm 17(18):28}.

It means also that the Christian mind should be unwaveringly focused*3* on cognition of God and Lord Jesus Christ, His Son, completed with observance of His words and accomplishment of His will {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11}. If the one desires to be a Christian, he has to discard the phantoms and fantasies of the inclined to evil and idol–creating imagination, obsessions, and values by which this world – the world that does not contemplate nor know the Spirit of Truth – lives {Matthew 6:24–34; Luke 12; 16:13–15; John 7:7; 14:30; 15:18–25; 17:14, 16; 1 John 3:1–24; 4:1–5; 5:1–5, 16–21; James}. Hence, the material worldly considerations should not obscure the Christian’s inner vision of truth; they must not interfere with observance of the Law of God, the essence of which is love to God and love to the others.

With time, through accomplishment of the commandments of God, and because of the grace and mercy of God, the mind that follows Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, becomes the completed living wholeness focused*3* on God and living by the love to God {Matthew 22:37–38; Mark 12:29–31; Luke 10:27; John 1:1–18; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John 3; 4; 5}:

it is not capable of hypocrisy and deceit similar to those by which the Pharisees

{Matthew 23; Luke 11:39–52}

lived and led the people to the complete ruin*4*

it cannot be divided within itself –

{Matthew 12:25; Luke 11:17–20, 23} –

that is to pursue the opposite purposes

it cannot develop inner inclination for the evil, and it cannot assume deceitful appearances

{Matthew 15:7–9; 23}

it does not commit nor justify the evil nor serve the evil nor co–operate with the servants of the evil;

it is the temple–dwelling of the Living God separated from idols, unrighteousness, and uncleanness

{Matthew 4:8–10; 6:24; Luke 11:23; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18}

it cannot deprive the others of the entry to the Kingdom of God

by giving them false knowledge, by adulterating*5* the  words of God,

and therefore robbing them of the Truth of God

{Matthew 23:13, 15; Luke 11:52; 2 Corinthians 2:17}

Hence, the following attributes of Λογος – the Word–God {Matthew 5:17; Luke 12:49; John 1:1–5, 14–18; 5:39–46; 10:30; 16:13–16; 17} establish the reality*6* of the Christian’s mind – the space, within which the mind is empowered to live by God, to embody the Divine Energy given by God into own thoughts, which it creates for accomplishment of the will of God, if it exactly follows*7* the reasoning of Christ {John 15:1–16; 1 Corinthians 2:15–16}:

In particular,

1/ knowledge of the Law of God sustains the right discernment*8*

2/ the righteous judgment (also known as wisdom*9*) is the state of being empowered/having the power granted by the Holy Spirit {John 14:15–21, 23–27; 15; 16:7–15} for accomplishment of the will of God

3/ the spiritual power*10* given through the Holy Spirit and because of the Word–God {John 14:15–17; 15:26} is incomparable with the material forces that sustain physical coercion – weapons, armies, repressive institutions, etc.: it exceeds all powers and strengths of kings, rulers, and their establishments, because it is the ability to perceive the presence of Almighty God Who comes to the one that loves Him, observes His commands, and accomplishes His will {John 14:15–21, 23; 16:25–28; Zacharias 4:6; Psalm 32(33):12–22}.

Celebration of New Year also reminds some simple truths:

life is the chain of incessant cycles of creation

all that the one thinks/creates/speaks/does will accompany him until the end of the earthly life

and determine his stand before God the Creator and Judge of His creations

{Matthew 25:31–46; Luke 13:24–28; John 3:16–21; 1 Corinthians 3:11–15}

each day, each moment of time provides a chance to begin the works of love, charity, and mercy,

and therefore, opens possibilities of the further advancement on the way of cognition of the Eternal Truth

{Matthew 11:25–30; John 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 2:1–3; 2 Peter 1:2–11; Colossians 3:10–11}.

Among all accomplishments of men, learning–absorbing–comprehension of knowledge of God [[the knowledge by which the heart–mind lives and with which it evolves into a new creation, an immortal child of God created by the Word of Truth, after the likeness of the Word–God, Lord Jesus Christ {John 1:1–13; 3:1–21, 31–36; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1:3–25; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 John 3:1–3; 5; Ephesians 2:1–10, 13–22; 4:17–24; Galatians 5:13–14; Romans 8:14–39; Colossians 1; 2:2–10; 1 Corinthians 1:3–9; 2:10–16; 2 Corinthians 3:5–18; 4:6; 5:17–19}]] has exceptional value and special significance, because the knowledge of God sustains life of the human mind–reasoning–intelligence and therefore, determines the entire life of a human being*11*; furthermore, the one’s knowledge of God may influence life of the others who are connected, or related, or otherwise placed into the sphere of his influence.

In this special and most significant part of human life – life of the reason, the Christians carry the most significant responsibilities:

to spread the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ

{Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15–16; John 17:6–21}:

to carry the Light of God and His Truth, to live by His words,

so through their words, deeds, and manner of life, the words of God would shine to all the others

{Matthew 5:14–20; Luke 12:42–46; James 2:12–26; 1 Peter 2; 3; 4; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 Corinthians 13}

to convey the precious knowledge of God through their deeds of love and good,

so the others could discover their road to God and obtain the everlasting life

{1 John 3:16–18}

If the one who is illuminated by the Light of God carries out these responsibilities appropriately, he could assist the ones who have been called by God and determined to obtain the Bread of Life and the everlasting life, so they begin to seek the guidance how to find the road*12* to God {Matthew 5; 6; 7; 11:25–30; 22:36–40; 23:8–12; Luke 10:27–37; 12:15–40; John 6:43–69; 8:31–47; 10; 12:44–50; 13:34–35; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 1 John; Romans 5; 8:28–39; 12; 2 Corinthians 4; Ephesians; Colossians 1:10–23; 2:2–23; 3; Philippians 3:14; 2 Timothy 2:19; Psalm 7:11–16; 15(16):7–11; 17(18); 33(34):11–22; 35(36); 84(85):9–13; 85(86); 93(94):10, 12–13; 110(111); 111(112); 118(119); Proverbs 2:3–16; 3:5–8; Isaiah 42:16; 43:1–21; 54:13–16; Hosea 6:1–4; Malachi 3:16–18}.

For the many, the road to God includes the following steps:

reading the Holy Scriptures, in which the seeker could find the desirable knowledge of God

observance of the Law of God – The Ten Commandments

{firstly, by discontinuing violations of the Ten Commandments – iniquities, hatred, and sins

 which are the works of the arch–evil and which inevitably are followed with destruction and total ruin –

in: Matthew 5:17–20; John 8:31–47; 1 John; 2 Timothy 2:19},

life in compliance with the Law of God – that is in conformity to The Ten Commandments –

and then, understanding how to accomplish the commands of Lord Jesus Christ:

to imitate perfection and mercy of God and to love the others as God loves

{Matthew 5; 6; 7; 22:36–40; Luke 10:27; 12:33–34; John 13:34–35; 1 John 4:7–21}.

perception and comprehension of the all–forgiving perfect Love of God and the life–giving knowledge and wisdom

bestowed by the Holy Spirit onto those who have chosen to follow God

and who therefore, are predetermined to become the fulfillment of the prophecy that all shall be taught of God.

For the one who seeks the road to God, the ultimate purpose*13* of all these steps is salvation of the soul: obtaining immortality and the everlasting life in the presence of God. The one obtains salvation only if he is known and loved by God Who, according to promise*14* of Lord Jesus Christ {John 14:23} comes to make His dwelling place with those who believe in His Son – the Word–God, love Him, and observe His words. Then, God Himself will call, teach, and lead His Very Own ones – those who He has known and predetermined for the eternity with Him {John 6:29, 44–46; 14; 15; 16:7–16, 27; 17; Romans 5; 8:28–39; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Timothy 2:19; Isaiah 42:5–12, 16; 43:1–7}.

In general, it is simple like that: a homeless and poor one [[or immigrant, or fugitive from the evil ones]] who seeks entrance to the town is met by a benevolent and kind town resident who tells him how to find the guidance to the road to the house of town’s Owner, which is opened to all. In the house, the Owner meets the newcomer who might be hungry, sick, overburdened with grief and suffering, humiliated, despised, betrayed or rejected by the past friends, companions, relatives, and neighbors. He gives to the newcomer food, clothing, hope, healing, and encouragement, helps to find true purposes of life, and provides assistance needed to become the full–fledged resident similar to the one who told him about the Owner’s house.

Coming into this town is possible through faith in Lord Jesus Christ

{John 3:35–36; 5:24–30; 6:27–69; 14:1–6}

the guidance how to find the road to the house of God is in the Gospels and Epistles of the Apostles

the acceptance into the house of God is initiation of the new life,

which God the Father creates in those who received the Word–God, the Daily Bread of the eternal life,

in whom Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God,

became the true foundation – Στερεωμα*15* of the soul–heart–mind,

and who are transformed into the likeness of the Word–God, a new creation in Christ and by Christ:

the chosen ones carrying the Name of God – those who will see God

{John 1:12–13; 3:16, 35–36; 6:32, 35–40, 47–58, 63–69; 10; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–18;

1 Peter 1:23–25; 2:25; 1 John; 1 Corinthians 15:45–49; Ephesians; Revelation 22:3–5}

the new eternal life is commenced with coming of the Holy Spirit;

it grows/evolves with learning–absorption–comprehension knowledge of God –

the knowledge that gives the everlasting life

{John 3:3–8; 14; 15; 16; 17; Ephesians 3:14–21; 4:20–24; Colossians 1:9–23; 2:2–10; 3:10–11}

the first indication of the beginning of the new life in God is the foretaste of the eternity:

 perception of a possibility of spiritual completion by growing in cognition of God

{John 17; 2 Peter 1:2–11; 3:18; 1 John; Colossians 1:9–23; 2:2–3; 3:10–11; 1 Corinthians 13:12; Hosea 6:4, 7}

as foreknowledge of the fullness by the one who is hungry and thirsty

[[similarly to the hungry and thirsty one who sees the table with food and drink and foretastes the filling of satiety]]

Since the beginning {Genesis 1; 2} it is known that man was created to dominate the evolving world*16*, to cultivate and to keep the Paradise filled with the abundant good – optimal sufficiency of everything, the beautiful world where man could evolve and which he could lead to the new levels of perfection. Why then, spiritual [[soul–heart–mind]] and physical [[body]] hunger and thirst*17*, suffering and death accompanied with the complete collapse and destruction*4* have become the actuality of mankind?

In the beginning, the Spirit of God moved over the water, and the darkness of unknown was over the depths. Then, by the Word of God, the beautiful fruitful world – celebration of life–giving creative power of God – began to exist, and the darkness of unknown void became the surrounding of the shining Light {Genesis 1; 2; John 1:1–5, 9; 1 John 1:1–5}.

Then, the evil came, death took the place of life, and another darkness – the darkness of separation from God and from wisdom – became the lot of human beings who were cast out from the presence of God to toil the earth, from which they were taken. Then, the first phase of cognition of the evil accomplished by those who were just flesh with the heart intently brooding over the evil continuously {Genesis 6:4, 6–8} resulted in complete corruption of almost entire mankind and was interrupted with annihilation of all the corrupted ones {Genesis 3; 4; 6; 7:17–23}.

However, the new phase of the new mankind at the current earth {2 Peter 3:5–13} began with crime against father – Noah the righteous who was completed in his generation {or perfect in his time – τελειος ων εν τη  γενεα; Genesis 6:10}. The crime was punished with the Noah’s curse, which defined the destiny of the progenitor of the “cursed nations” and his posterity {Genesis 9:18–27}: the evil of slavery was unleashed in the post–Flood world and therefore, made possible death of the human reasoning–intelligence*18*. Ultimately, men built the world of insufficiency–deprivation of good, the world without knowledge of God and without love to God, the world of hungry and thirsty souls with the idols instead of the only One True God, with incurable rage of asps*19* instead of the life–giving water, and with ruin, suffering and destruction instead of prosperity and happiness {Deuteronomy 32:16–33; Isaiah 59:1–15}…

Ultimately, after many years of separation, suffering and deaths, some men [[such as Abraham in whom all nations of the earth are blessed – because from his seed (descendents) came Mary the mother of Lord Jesus Christ the Sun of God {Genesis 12:1–3; 22:1–18; Luke 1; 2]] proved their ability to adhere to the righteousness even among the corrupted ones: the earth was preparing itself for the seed of the eternal life, while the evil still was filling its limits. God the Creator had mercy on them and initiated the next phase of evolution forming them into the chosen nation, from which the blessing [[Lord Jesus Christ the Sun of God]] onto the entire mankind would come. The human mind regained the memory of the beginning, of the foundation of life and own nature – it was given the Law*20*. Then, the human mind became similar to a fugitive from the Father who became the dying of thirst and hunger vagabond, yet, who, as the prodigal son*21* in the parable told by the Lord {Luke 15:11–32}, still, because of mercy and love of the Father, had a chance to return to the Father and enter His house, where he could receive life–giving water and bread, so he would wash away dirt and dust of the long journey, drink, and eat, and return to life, and then, he would be able to see his true face {Genesis 3:18–20; 11:1–9; 12:1–3; 13:10–21; 14; 15:1–16; 18; 19; 22; Deuteronomy 7; 8; 9:1–5; 10; 11; 26; 27; 28; 30; 32:3–40; 33; Isaiah 43:1–31; 44:1–5; 56:1–6; John; 1 John; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; Ephesians; 2 Corinthians 3:18}…

So lengthy is the journey, so great is suffering, so long is the time of separation, yet after all, the road was worthy of taking, if it leads to the Father’s home.

So far, something else was found or re–discovered: the knowledge with which the mind learns to discern the true essence and actual value of everything, including own life. This true essence, the foundation of everything is the presence of God: His Spirit creates life, sustains the world, gives comfort and hope to the hopeless and desperate ones, establishes riches, devises the wholeness of life, completeness, and perfection of His creations.

However, in the actuality of daily life, the mind usually thinks in the terms of the matter – things, properties, food, clothing, actions, which would increase quantity and values of material things in own possession, etc. People live by the matter and work for the sake of the material possession – ownership of many things. Everything is for the actual or assumed needs of a body: all the labor of man is for his mouth, yet, his soul is not filled {Ecclesiastes 6:7}.

And what about the soul – how to determine is the soul hungry or is it complete? What makes the human soul filled–satisfied–complete?

The source of everything is the Divine Energy issuing from God: life is manifestation of the Divine Energy, the living creatures are embodiments of the Divine Energy; everything lives and breathes because it receives the Divine Energy from God the Creator. With the Spirit of God, a creature of dust/clay {Genesis 2:7; Isaiah 45:9; 64:8} obtains the actual life – the life of spirit {John 3:3–21, 31–36; 4:23–24; 14:15–17, 23, 26–27; 1 Corinthians 15:44–50}. The prophets wrote that God shall send forth His Spirit and all shall be created, and He shall renew the face of the earth: God is the Beginning and the End, God is the Source of life, He gives the abilities/powers to live and to perceive life; He creates completely new {Genesis 1; 2; Psalm 35(36):9; 103(104):30; John 17; Revelation 1:8, 17, 18; 21:1–7}.

Thus, the human soul lives only by God; only presence of God imparts completeness, satisfies thirst–hunger–insufficiency, and leads to perfection – development of the highest human potential: possession of wisdom, firstly, as the abilities/powers to comprehend, to create, and to actualize the good.

Self–identification with a particular religion, confession of particular beliefs, public rituals of worship, acts of charity intended to boost image or to establish a particular reputation, all other deeds intended for public knowledge and performed for the others do not confirm that the soul of the author or performer of the referred deeds is not hungry. The true essence and the actual value of a human being is not in appearances and material values by which the social, political, and other hierarchies and establishments evaluate worth of their subjects–members–parts–slaves.

The true essence of a human being is his soul–heart–mind; his actual value is his readiness*22* for the works and purposes of God.

The human soul is fed by the Word–God – by the knowledge of God. The Lord said that His food is to do the will of God the Father and to finish His work: He came to accomplish the will of God the Father. Hence, His followers should do the same: to keep and to accomplish the commandments/words of God {in: John 4:34; 6:27–58; 8:31–36; 14:15–27}. The knowledge – the complete instructions how to follow God, how to love God – that is how to live by accomplishing His commandments – is in the Gospels {Matthew; Mark; Luke; John}; the explication of the words of God needed for daily life of people, families, and societies are in the Epistles of the Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ {The Books of the New Testament}.

Through the Gospels {Matthew; Mark; Luke; John}, God revealed His will to all who want to know it, to accomplish it, and therefore, to live: the one must treat the others in the same way that he wants to be treated; the one must love his enemies, give those who are in need, lend without expectation to be paid, bless and forgive those who wronged him, injured his pride and harmed his feelings, deprived him of the material goods, even of physical life, and so on {Matthew 5; 6; 7; Luke 6:20–49; 10:27–37; 11; 12; 14:7–14; 17:1–10; 18:1–27}. By accomplishing these actions, which are fulfillment of the will of God {1 Peter; Romans 12}, the one ascends to the highest points of the road allotted to the human soul–heart–mind on its way to home:

detachment from the material considerations*23* and freedom from the slavery of sin*24*

separation from the world that is the enemy of God

comprehension of the Absolute Good of God

limitlessness of the good within own heart–mind, when the Absolute Good of God

becomes the absolute good for man and absolute good*2* of man

the ability/empowerment to accomplish the commandments of God:

to imitate perfection, mercy, and love of God

Besides, the one, who lives by the commandments/words of God, is building for himself the indestructible dwelling: the more the one does for the others the more secure and better and wealthier the one becomes, because he collects for himself imperishable inalienable treasure that awaits him in the house of the Creator {Matthew 6:1–21; 7:12, 21–27; Luke 6:47–49; 12:33–34}.

Any assistance offered with love, eventually, satisfies the hungry soul of the one in need and enriches the soul of the one who assists the needy one, even if this assistance serves only survival of a body. It means that, if the one acts because of his faith and love to God, while he feeds his enemies in time of their hunger and helps the needy ones {whoever they are – Matthew 5:38–48; Romans 12:17–21} by sharing material goods, the one enriches and empowers his own soul. Although he might deprive himself of some material or other possessions and advantages, he receives from God the spiritual riches, which are true treasure in heavens, in the next phase of his life.

Thus, people are born into the world of the matter to learn the vital significance of the immaterial values, and through handling of the earthly possessions, to acquire the knowledge of the Eternity: the one’s soul–heart–mind is filled with the good because it feeds the others and lessens the others’ suffering.

How then, the one who desires to assist the others could identify the hungry souls, even within the seemingly privileged or fortunate ones?

The typical features of those with the hungry soul include

deprivation of good expressed as absence of the spiritual values,

immorality, corruption, disrespect to the others, weakness, and ignorance

absence of mercy and love to other creations of God,

lack of sincere willingness to assist the others

absence of wisdom, firstly, as the inability to accomplish the purposes

of survival, development, and avoidance of evil

inability to create things, which would sustain life and development of the others.

And I think how extraordinary the destiny of man is:

to obtain knowledge of the eternal and indestructible spirit

within the temporal world of dissipating matter

to ascend to completeness of own soul–heart–mind,

even through help by sharing the material things

and by feeding the hungry soul–heart–mind of the others,

to obtain immortality while still living in the world of death…

So, which well–wishes–greetings the one could have for the others in the beginning of a new year within the temporal world where the human mind has to come to the fullness of the knowledge of God and prepare itself for the eternity in the presence of God {John 17; 2 Peter 3:18; 1 John; Ephesians 3:14–21; 4:20–24; Colossians 3:10–11}?

The best that a Christian could wish to the others is to find their Way to God, to accomplish His will, and to receive from Him the Daily Bread of the immortality that fills the hungry soul and gives it the life everlasting in the presence of God {John 6:35–51, 53–69; 10; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 John; Revelation 21:1–7; 22:1–14}

Let everyone who desires to follow Lord Jesus Christ

find his very own way to God and receive from Him the Daily Bread of the immortality

that fills the hungry soul and gives it the everlasting life in the presence of God!

Happy and plentiful New Life!

Happy New Year!

*5* In 2 Corinthians 2:17, St. Paul the Apostle says: “we are not as many adulterating the word of God (εσμεν ως οι πολλοι, καπηλευοντες τον λογον του Θεου) but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, in Christ, we speak.”

Greek word καπηλευοντες is a derivative of καπηλευω – to be engaged in petty cunning trade, to adulterate, to corrupt, to cheat, to swindle; to distort, to pervert, to misrepresent.

Similar thought is in 2 Corinthians 4:2: “we have renounced hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the revelation of truth…”

Deceit, perversion, misrepresentation and other kinds of adulteration of truth – lies – are the deeds of the arch–evil that is a liar and the father of it {John 8:44}.

If the soul became the temple of God, it had rejected the arch–evil, it became incompatible with the evil, and it is unable to spread lies.

Indeed, for any Christian who loves God as it is stated by the first greatest commandment, who accepted God as the Highest Holiness, Light, and Life of own soul that is the temple–dwelling of God, any adulterating, modification, misrepresentation, perversion of the words of God is impossible, and not only because it is the blasphemy and unforgivable sin: words of God are revelation of the will of God the Father carried out by the Word–God and by the Holy Spirit Who proceeds from God the Father. Then,  sin against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable {cf. in: John 3:3136; 5:63, 68; 14:26; 16:13–15; Matthew 12:30–36; 1 John 5:16}.

*7* Traditional translation of ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν {in: 1 Corinthians 2:16}, where νουν is a derivative of νοος – intelligence, reasoning, mind, and εχομεν – interpreted as “have,” is “we have/possess the mind of Christ” [*].

Christ is the Word–God; humans are not capable of having the mind of God. Besides, to ascribe to a human being attributes of God is blasphemy.  Obviously, the translation is inadequate. Indeed, the word εχομεν should not be interpreted as a derivative of εχω (to have) from primary verb σχεω  – to hold; εχομεν is a shortened form of εχομενως – which conveys meanings of contiguity, following something, close connection, proximity. Strict meaning of ημεις δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν is “we just/exactly the reasoning of Christ follow.”

*8* See The Discernment – file is offered for download @ website Systems Logic [], Page Library_3

*9* Wisdom is the power of reason/intelligence, with which a human being survives and evolves into the child of God. This power is given by the Holy Spirit Who comes because of the Word–God, the Holy Wisdom of God – Λογος, Αγια Σοφια – to the one who has faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, who loves God, who accepted the knowledge of God, and who proved his love to God with observance of His commandments and with the deeds of good {John 14:14–26; 15:10–17; 17; 1 John 3; 4}.

In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, St. Paul the Apostle writes of the Holy Wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, of the power of God, which is the foundation of faith, and of intelligence, reason, mind of those who just/exactly follow the reasoning of Christ { δε νουν Χριστου εχομεν1 Corinthians 2:15–16}.

Hence, wisdom of a human being is the state of empowerment, when a human being, who has been receiving the Divine Energy and knowing the Law of God, becomes the co–worker of God and creator of works that actualize the will of God within the world given into the dominion of man {John 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

Wisdom might be also defined as comprehension of the Law of God and the subsequent ability to observe the Law: to live according to the Law of God, to embody the Law of God into daily life – the reality of own existence. As such, wisdom initiates and sustains human evolution, which is the process of transformation into the immortal child of God destined for the eternity in the presence of God.

At the level of the human mind, wisdom is the power that enables the mind

a/ to comprehend the Law of God that controls existence of the world

b/ to create invincible establishments/systems for achievement of the purposes that actualize the will of God within the human world

c/ to accomplish own evolution, for instance, as development–achievement of the maximal potency of reasoning, comprehension and creation of knowledge.

The Ultimate Power

…Not by mighty power, nor by strength, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.…

{Zacharias 4:6}

In the vision sent to the prophet, the Lord Almighty reveals the Ultimate Power – the Holy Spirit of God {Zaharias 4:6} by Whom the temple of God is built and the universe was created, exists, and comes to its completion. The presence of this Power melts the hills*e*1*, evaporates the armies of sinners with all their weapons and devices for murder and contradiction, and reveals the actual essence of the establishments and knowledge of men as null and human wisdom as madness. Into the world of man, this Ultimate and the Almighty Power comes through the Word–God and creates the new world in which the new creations – human children of God – are enabled to withstand His presence and to dwell with Him in His eternity, because they are baptized in the Fire, became the dwelling of the Holy Spirit, and received  υδατος  ζωντος  – the water of living, the life everlasting {Genesis 1:1–31; 2:1–7; Psalms 96(97):5; 101(102):25–28; Daniel 2:1–45; Luke 12:49–50; John 1:1–34; 4:24; 7:37–39; 10:30; 14:15–26; 17:21–26; James 1:18; 1 Corinthians 3:19–23; Revelation 19:11–21; 21:1–6; 22:1–5}.

And I think that the entire history of human thought can be described by the search for the ultimate knowledge – the greatest force that, if obtained, would evaporate the fog of ignorance, enable the mind to comprehend the nature of things, therefore, dissolve “the spiritual blindness” by making impossible misconceptions, misinterpretations, and overall insufficiency of reasoning.

However, this search might be likened to intentional crawling in the darkness, while the entry into the light is already given, because the ultimate knowledge and ultimate power of man is the knowledge of God granted by the Holy Spirit; nothing else is needed, and nothing else should be ever sought {cf.: Matthew 6:33; John 8:12; 14:6–26; 15:1–6, 26}…

End of Excerpt

*11* During the earthly phase of existence, a human being is a temporal life–carrying unity of spirit–flesh, or soul–heart–mind–body, or energy–matter, accommodated within the realm composed of the units of the structured matter, which are the energy derivatives created/arranged at different levels of complexity.

The essence of man – the inner man – mentioned by St. Peter the Apostle {hidden heart of man – 1 Peter 3:4} is the soul–heart–mind, which carries the image and likeness of God. St. Paul the Apostle refers to a new creation of Christ and in Christ as to the one who is enabled to act as the co–worker of God {Θεου γαρ εσμεν συνεργοι1 Corinthians 3:9}, who is the God’s field and God’s building/construction {Θεου γεωργιον, Θεου οικοδομη  – 1 Corinthians 3:9}.

The Greek theologians discerned three parts/components of the human essence, or it might be said that they assumed that the soul–heart–mind operates at three levels: intellect – νους, reason/intelligence – διανοια, and the reasoning, or the faculty of deliberation –  γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος.

*15* Στερεωμα of the human soul–heart–mind is the Word–God – the knowledge of God: His Law, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good, that is the everlasting life {John 17:3, 6} – this knowledge makes possible life by the Holy Spirit, because this knowledge became the inner foundation and structure of the new creation of God in Christ and by Christ destined from the beginning of times for the eternity with God.

The eternal life in the realm/kingdom of God Who is the Spirit {John 4:24} is possible only if the Word–God becomes the στερεωμα, within which, by the power of God and because of the will of God, a human being is transformed/re–created into the immortal child of God, the certain firstfruit of creations made in likeness of the Word–God – the Word of Truth {James 1:18; 1 John 3:1–2; Romans 8:28–30; Colossians 1:9–22; 3:10–11}, the one who lives by the Holy Spirit and who is enabled to withstand the eternity in the presence of God the Spirit {while the Old Testament’s human being is not able to see God and live – Exodus 33:18–20}.

The Word–God creates the foundation – στερεωμα {as the firmament of the new world – Genesis 1:6; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23–25; Ephesians 2:10} within the human essence and gives the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life: on the στερεωμα, by the Holy Spirit, the immortal child of God is created–built–established with knowledge of God, Power of God, and Energy issuing from God {in: Psalm 103(104):30Εξαποστελεις το Πνευμα Σου και κτισθησονταιThou shall send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created( established/made); Psalm 17(18):1–2: Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μου – I love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament; John 1:1–4, 12–13; 3:5–6; 7:37–39; 16:13–15; Ephesians 2:1–22}.

When the one accepts the Word–God, the knowledge that He gives – the knowledge of God (knowledge of the law of God, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good), becomes the Firmament {Κυριος Στερεωμα μου – The Lord is my Firmament – Psalm 17(18):2} – the foundation of the one’s intelligence/reasoning and the framework–space, in which a human being

evolves into the dwelling of God

is enabled to accept the Holy Spirit of God – the Divine Fire

Who ignites the eternal life within the creature of dust

is prepared for the eternity in the presence of God.

By Christ and in Christ – by the Word–God and in the Word–God – an immortal human child of God comes into being and will be resurrected/transformed for the eternity with God {John 1:12–13; 3:16–17; 11:25–26; 17; 1 Peter 1; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians 2; 1 Corinthians 15; Galatians 3:26–29; 4:6–7}.

Therefore, when the Old Testament’s prophet tells that God is his στερεωμα {Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μου, και καταφυγη μου, και Ρυστης μου – I love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament, and my refuge, and my Deliverer – Psalm 17(18):1–2}, he conveys knowledge revealed by the Holy Spirit {John 5:39; 2 Peter 1:19–21}:  man shall live by God, because of God, and in God {John 5:39–47; 6:45–58; 10:11–18, 27–30; 17:21–26}.

*16* The world described in the first and second chapters of Genesis was the evolving reality, because all living creatures received the blessing of God to evolve: they had to increase and multiply and fill their sphere {αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατεGenesis 1:22}. In addition to the blessing to evolve (to increase and multiply and fill the earth), man was given the purposes και κατακυρειυσατε αυτης– to subdue and to dominate the world filled with the all living creatures {Genesis 2:28}.

*24* Sin is a violation of the law of God; it is a failure to achieve the purposes, an inability to accomplish the mission of man, firstly, the inability to create the good that is to fulfill the Law/will of God. Sin is anomaly – abnormality of human behavior issuing from perversion of the human nature because of violation of the Law of God.

In Greek, sin is αμαρτια – inability to get something needed or desirable or proper, missing the mark. Ανομια – lawlessness, iniquity, illegality, wickedness – is anomaly, or perversion, that is inconsistency with the human nature.
