The Length of Days

…I will satisfy him with the length of days,

and show him My salvation…

{Psalm 90(91):16}

God promises His deliverance and His protection to the one who has hoped in Him and who has known His name {Psalm 90(91)}. In the end, God says: “I will satisfy him with the length of days, and show him My salvation” {Μακροτητι ημερων εμπλησω αυτου, και δειξω αυτω το σωτηριον ΜουPsalm 90(91):16}.

Job the Righteous lived many years after his affliction – the rigorous test, during which Job proved his faith, his knowledge of God, his devotion to God, his understanding of wisdom and righteousness of man*1*. By the mercy of God, Job faced his end being elder and filled with days – και ετελευτησεν Ιωβ πρεσβυτερος, και πληρης ημερων. It is written that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up (ο Κυριος ανιστησιν) {Job 42:16–17; as it is in: John 6:39 – Lord Jesus Christ – the Son of God, the Word–God, says that the will of the Father Who sent Him is that all that He has given Him He shall raise up (αναστησω αυτο) in the last day}.

In one of his last Epistles {2 Timothy}, St. Paul the Apostle writes that he already is becoming a victim, and the time (καιρος) of him, his departure is set. He has fought the good fight; he has accomplished the journey; he has kept the faith {εγω γαρ ηδη σπενδομαι, και ο καιρος της εμης αναλυσεως εφεστηκε. Τον αγωνα τον καλον ηγωνισμαι, τον δρομον τετελεκα, την πιστιν τετηρηκα 2 Timothy 4:6-7. If to consider εφεστηκε (translated “has arrived” or “is here” – to be set, determined) as a derivative of εφεστιος – hearth, family/home hearth, the one might conclude that St. Paul speaks of his departure to the home hearth, homecoming}.

And I think – what does it mean to be full of days, or to be satisfied with the length of days? Is the length of days just quantity of days, hours, minutes, seconds allotted for the one’s existence, or, perhaps, the true measure of the one’s time is not physical parameters, but knowledge and wisdom the one acquired? Why St. Paul the Apostle mentions the time of completion (καιρος), if he could simply tell that the day (ημερα) of his departure – the point within time–range (χρονος) – is set?

The word καιρος*2* identifies two final states of a human being:

1/ completeness of evolution within the world of the structured matter, when the purposes, for the sake of which a human being came into existence, are accomplished, and cognition of the Absolute Good prepared a human being for the next phase of existence

2/ completeness of degeneration/perversion, when a human being became unable to achieve the purposes for the sake of which he came into existence, and his way might be described with the complete ruin (the διαφθορον pattern*3*).

In other words, καιρος might be seen as the moment–state–condition of actualization of the Law of God – the completeness either of evolution or destruction, as the point at which

a/ the system reaches the maximum either of its potency or of its weakness, which both result in inability to exist at the present conditions

b/ when the system achieved all possible results it was capable of achieving within the time–space–complexity*4* settings, with the resources it was enabled to access, and through material things it was enabled to create–use–modify–consume–destroy

c/ when, within the present settings, further existence of the system is inconsistent with the purposes of the Creator.

From the practical point of view, if the one is enabled to discern the time and conditions of reaching by a system of the highest potency and actualization of the maximal power of creation or destruction, if the one has the ability to identify the moment of καιρος of any system–establishment–event, which the one might encounter, he can comprehend the Past, face the challenges of the Present, and be prepared for the Future.

If so, how then, the human mind determines its own καιρος?

When Job cognized the meaning of wisdom of man*5*, after he has gone through his affliction, which was the test of his devotion to God, then, during the time after his wealth and his manner of life was restored, he has seen everything and completed everything allotted to him by the will of God. Then, additional time at the earth would not bring him something new, because Job’s way of cognition was finished and his life had no sense – if to define life as the process of creation–assimilation–consuming knowledge.

The Job’s story portrays the mind, which underwent transformation into the embodiment of the Law of God and therefore accomplished the purpose set before the Old Testament people*1*; such transformation makes possible perception of Wisdom coming from God {in: Job 27; 28; 42:1–7, 17}. The ability to perceive the Wisdom is the crown of human evolution, the καιρος, when a human being is ready for the meeting with his Creator.

Perhaps, in such conditions, a human being experiences the rare feeling of joy as fullness–satisfaction with the length of days, and this feeling might be likened to satisfaction of a runner who successfully completed his contest (in St. Paul’s words – τον δρομον τετελεκα), or the traveler who arrived to the end of his difficult passage, or a tired workman who just successfully accomplished long, challenging, dangerous, and very hard work, and nothing left that needs to be done.

The story of St. Paul the Apostle deepens the meaning of καιρος*2*.

St. Paul’s completion is the result of the entire cycle of all possible transformations, which compose the meaning of the human evolution as an embodiment of the evil and ignorance in the beginning and as the embodiment of the good and knowledge in the end.

Indeed, Saul, young man from Tarsus, who began as the enemy of Crucified Jesus Christ and His followers, was chosen to be Paul the Apostle of Jesus Christ and finished {Acts; esp., Acts 7:51–60; 8:1–3; 9:1–31; 13; 14; 20:16–35; 21:39–40; 22} as

the slave of Jesus Christ {Romans 1:1; Titus 1:1}

the loyal servant of the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ

the one who God chose to become His messenger and an example/model for the ones

that He chose to come to Him

the one who did everything possible and impossible to accomplish the will of the Lord,

and who was executed for his faith*6*

the Apostle of the Eternal Kingdom who acted with godliness,

according to faith of the elect of God, and in full knowledge of truth {Titus 1:1}

the one who claimed his road into the life in Jesus Christ – the immortality

{John 3:16; 5:24–27; 6:35–58; 11:25–26; 13; 14; 15; 17; 2 Timothy 1:1–2; Titus 1:1–2}*7*

who left instructions {fourteen Epistles}

for the next generations of the travelers who would take the same road to God.

St. Paul writes that he has made the hard work and accomplished his journey; seemingly, he expresses the feeling of completeness, because of the time of his departure – homecoming.

The meaning of καιρος as coming to the right completion–end, when the purposes have been accomplished, and the door into next phase of existence is opened, transforms encounter with death/exit from this world – so much feared by many – into the desirable end of long difficult road that, ultimately, has led to the top of the hill, from which the home is seen.

Besides, if the one’s life is completed with full knowledge, which a human being might be enabled to comprehend, while he is still within the world of dissipating structures of matter, the meaning of time as quantity of days becomes obsolete. At the threshold of this world, when the mind is ready to face the eternity and all measures and categories of temporal dissipating world have no sense, time is seen as is, according to its nature. Time unfolds as the space allotted for coming to the complete knowledge of God; then, with God, one day is as a thousand years, and thousand years as the watch in the night {in: 2 Peter 3:8; Psalm 83(84):10; 89(90):4}.

Thus, the one can infer that the ability to identify own καιρος*2*, especially, through the satisfaction with the “length of own days,” and the ability to accept it as an indicator of the timely departure from this world into the Kingdom of God – homecoming {John 14:1–4} are, indeed, the gifts of God.

*2* The Greek word καιρος denotes not only a period of time; this word conveys the meaning of the moment of accomplishment, “decisive moment,” when something actually happens, or a specific point of the time–space, where a system ascends to the higher level of complexity allotted to it by the designer, when it realizes its potential, creates the most significant knowledge, or achieves its purpose either the good or the evil.

For instance, evaluating the condition of the pre–Flood earth, when each flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth, God considered accomplishments, actualization, and potential of men: all were evil, and every one in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually. The final state–condition of all men {kαιρος παντος ανθρωπου Genesis 6:14} came before God, and His decision was extermination of the corrupted creatures of flesh {in: Genesis 6:6–8, 12–14}.

“The Completion

…For all things there is the time, and the time of completion for everything under the heaven…

{Ecclesiastes 3:1}

In Greek, the Solomon’s expression is precise: Τοις πασιν ο χρονος, και καιρος τοω παντι πραγματι υπο τον ουρανον {Ecclesiastes 3:1}. He differentiates three settings allotted for the affairs of man:

– there is the time – χρονος

– there is the time of completion, final decision, or act, when all things come into the focus and everything is completed – καιρος

– there is the framework, within which the world was created–structured, or the firmament of the second day of creation – στερεωμα – also called the Heaven – ουρανον {Genesis 1:6–10}. Within this framework, or “under the Heaven,” χρονος and καιρος reign:

– everything is born for a purpose within the measured finite settings (χρονος – governed by the law of irreversibility of cognition)

– everything accomplishes (or fails to accomplish) the purpose of its existence and reaches the time of actualization–fulfillment–completion (καιρος)

– after καιρος, everything either dissipates to free the time–space–complexity settings for the next actors or ascends at the higher level of complexity (continues existence for achievement of other purposes, at another time–space–complexity settings; one of the meanings of evolution is an increase of complexity).

In general, these three settings define the cyclical nature of our world created according to the specific readings of the universal law – the Law of God.

The framework–firmament–heaven embraces the totality of time–space–complexity entities/networks composed with the energy fields controlling the cycles of energy transformation (life is a purposeful cycle of energy transformations). These settings or specific networks of the energy fields might be seen also as the unity of the interconnected worlds, which accommodate the developing totality of the cycles of creation {John 5:17} and sustain life of different kinds of living beings–embodiments of the divine energy accomplished according to the universal law and with the universal power. The unity of energy–law–power maintains the Heaven and the world of men.

The time – χρονος – is setting that makes possible achievement of the purposes, therefore, actualization of the cycles of life.

The time of completion – καιρος – is the time–setting when three events happen:

1/ the system (the human mind or a human establishment, e.g., empire) achieves the maximal potency, which it has been designed and is capable to achieve during its life–cycle

2/ the system actualizes its maximal potency and embodies the accumulated knowledge into the act of creation or destruction of other systems

3/ the system completes its purposes.

The human mind cannot change χρονος, yet, it has a freedom to choose or to create the path toward own καιρος. This path (the human life, existence of an empire, civilization, nation, corporation, or of any other human establishment) differs, mostly, by the initial complexity*2* and the settings within which the system is destined to fulfill the purposes. In general, this path might be seen as a summary of derivatives

a/ the Past, which the mind, for instance, carries as the genetic composition of the body it controls, and which, in particular, defines the present manageability of the matter {Wisdom 8:19–20 }, mostly through physical individual abilities and potency to perceive, access, and utilize the resources needed for achievement of the purposes

b/ the vision of truth {or the remnants of this vision, e.g., in: Isaiah 6:10}, which define the abilities to discern the Law behind the totality of events and settings, to evaluate own compliance with the Law, and to act according (or contrary)  to the Law (that is according/contrary to own nature, which is defined by the Law) therefore, to cognize the knowledge, which would allow accomplishment the purposes of evolution (the knowledge of good) or anti–evolution (the knowledge of evil)

c/ the accumulated potency of created–learned knowledge of good and evil.

In a particular sense, the world might be seen as the training ground where the human mind tests own abilities and actualizes own nature within different times, religions, races, nations, empires, establishments, and other settings. In general, the accumulated knowledge of good and evil and the choices intended to embody this knowledge into the life of the world define preparedness (or unpreparedness) for the next world and the next phase of existence in the Kingdom of God {John 14:2}.

Other Solomon’s texts compliment his vision of the foundations of the world and allow comprehension of his sadness as the philosopher and king. After Solomon accomplished everything that man and king could {Ecclesiastes 1:12–18; 2:1–24; 1 Kings 3:11–13; 2 Chronicles 1:11–12}, he makes the inferences:

1/ without God, man is able of nothing: all and everything – wisdom, knowledge, power, wealth, happiness, life, and death as the perfect completion of the perfect life – comes by the will of God and in the time allotted by God

2/ the only path of dignity and wisdom opened to man is to cling to God and to observe His commandments {Ecclesiastes 11:13}

The author of the Book of Wisdom explains that everything that makes life meaningful and desirable is in the knowledge of God: to know God is the complete righteousness and acceptance of His dominion is the root of immortality {Wisdom 15:3}.

The inference is that this world is centered or focused on the Absolute Good, and only those who choose to seek this Absolute Good are able to actualize own nature and have their καιρος as accomplishment of the purposes they have been created to accomplish…”

 “…within the life–cycle of each system, καιρος is the most interesting feature: what is the path to it, what was left unaccomplished if to consider all resources available and all settings within which the system has its life–cycle, the time, when it comes, what kind – perfection or degeneration – it would be, and which consequences would it bring for other systems?

…some systems are not capable to reach their καιρος. Despite an ability to develop the greatest potency and availability of the resources, the system may never have καιρος because of their incompatibility with the environment, insufficient complexity/development of its counterparts, or simply because of the unprepared environment.

The myth about Cassandra reflects the tragedy of those unable to reach καιρος. Apollo punished Cassandra (daughter of the king of Troy) because of her independent spirit and unwillingness to serve his desire. She received an ability to foresee the Future; however, those whom she predicted the Future had been deprived of an ability to understand her. All Cassandra’s predictions became reality, yet, her contemporaries were not ready to comprehend the consequences of current events and own actions, therefore, she was not able to accomplish her purposes: she had no καιρος.

…even if the mind of observer is capable of discerning the patterns of completion in the Past, and has an ability to determine the actual meaning of knowledge, events and choices, as well as to comprehend the summary of actions leading to the particular pattern of καιρος, could such a mind actually assist in the design of the Future if every system has own vision of the Future and this Future might not be reconcilable with the projections of other systems?

Probably, the understanding of the irreconcilable differences led the wise king to the conclusion: everything is in the knowledge of God and in observance of His commandments. Only for those unified with the mutual knowledge of the Absolute Good – that is of our Lord God and Savior, and for those who build on the only indestructible precious corner stone {Isaiah 28:16; Matthew 7:24–27; Luke 20:17} life becomes the path of accomplishment, achievement of the highest power of creation of good, therefore, actualization of own nature, which prepares the human mind for the Kingdom of God.

Notes:

*1* In general, the meaning of any purpose sought by the mind might be described as finding of a particular pattern of knowledge creation and embodiment of this pattern into the life of the surrounding world.

*2* The initial complexity of parameters is defined by potency of the mind–creator. The meaning of mind’s potency (or the power to create) includes the vast scale of the features, which make the mind capable to accomplish the purposes of creation; for instance, such as accumulated created–learned knowledge, an ability to employ this knowledge for achievement of the purposes within the different settings, the available or possible to access resources, and knowledge of the establishments within which the particular mind would have to achieve its purposes.”

*3* The διαφθορον pattern – or the totality of physical, moral, and religious ruin, which usually, is initiated by the apostasy as rejection of faith in God and intentional disregard and violations of the Law of God. The διαφθορον pattern describes also the utter collapse–ruin of any system, in which alien knowledge takes the place of the original meanings of truth that initially, in the time of the system’s creation/construction, was embodied into

religious, social, political, moral, and other laws, norms, and values

religious, social, political, educational, and other establishments

created to maintain and to protect the system

behavior, interrelations, and other aspects of the daily life of the people

whose existence, prosperity, development, and survival the system is intended to sustain and to secure.

The διαφθορον pattern can be always discerned within the chaotic totality of the events identified as revolution, war, defeat, impoverishment, assimilation by enemies {e.g., as it is in: Deuteronomy 28:47–48}, and overall processes of disintegration of empires, states, and other establishments.

Personal διαφθορον reveals itself through completed – total – corruption, apostasy, or crimes against God and His creations, when a human being is not able to achieve any of the purposes of the good, is unsuccessful in his endeavors aimed to prosperity and increase of overall quality of life, lives in ignorance, bewilderment, injustice, unrighteousness, hardship, and dissatisfaction with the fruits of his labor, even if he possesses riches, fame, and has access to the power of coercion.

The Old Testament prophets described conditions of spiritual and material neediness, which are the consequences of the collapse described by the διαφθορον pattern {e.g. in: Isaiah 59:1–15; Micah 6:11–15; Habakkuk 1:1–17; 2:15–17; Haggai 1:6}. In the New Testament, such self–ruined people of incurable devastation are referred to as to

a/ the ones who already have been judged {ηδη κεκριταιJohn 3:18–20}, because they love darkness more than the Light, their works were evil, and they go into the darkness so their works may not be exposed

b/ the ones who are not of God, who are children of the arch–evil {in: John 8:42–47; 1 John 3:4, 8–10, 15}

c/ false prophets and false teachers, clouds driven by tempest, for whom the eternal darkness is kept {2 Peter 2:1–22}.

“The Potential of the Mind

…as nothing having, yet all possessing…

…we, the strong, must bear the weaknesses of the weak…

{2 Corinthians 6:10; Romans 15:1}

Saul, young man from Tarsus, set his mind on extermination of Christianity: he entered houses and took men and women – followers of new teachings condemned by the Sanhedrin – into prisons. Having being in some position of the religious authority or closeness to the high priest, he approved execution of Stephan, the first Christian martyr who was stoned to death for his faith in Lord God Jesus Christ. One day he decided to travel to Damascus to bring back in Jerusalem the fugitives – the “apostates” who converted into Christianity and fled in fear of persecution. On the road to Damascus, suddenly, Saul saw the great light from the sky; he fell on the ground and heard the voice of God Who asked: “Saul, why do you persecute Me?” In fear and astonishment Saul asked God what he must do for Him. When Saul rose on his feet, he could not see; his companions led him to the city. Then, another miracle happened: a Christian sent by God restored Saul’s eyesight, and he began to preach Christianity to the Gentiles and to the Jews in all ends of the Roman Empire: in Greece, Spain, Minor Asia, Rome, and Jerusalem. His destiny became fulfillment of the ancient prophecy: after God chose him to become the vessel – massager – carrying His name before nations, kings, and sons of Israel, he began as the blind, received the speech of instruction, endured suffering and persecution, yet was enlightened and led by God through the unknown roads. He became the servant of the Holy Spirit and the messenger of the New Testament; he was sent to be the role model and educator of many {Acts 6:8–14; 7:55–60; 8:1–3; 9:1–30; 22:3–21; Isaiah 42:16–20; 2 Corinthians 3:5–8; 1 Timothy 1:12–16; 2 Timothy 1:8–12}.

Transformation of Saul–enemy of Jesus into Paul–Apostle of Lord God Jesus Christ had no rational explanation. Previously, Saul was an insider of the circle of the high priest and the Pharisees who condemned Christians to mockery, excommunication, and death, because they considered Christianity as the threat to their establishment and as the dangerous teachings propagated and disseminated by the criminals and apostates {John 9:22; 11:47–53; 12:9–11; 18:1–40; 19:1–22; Luke 23:1–38; Mark 14:55–65; 15:1–32; Matthew 26:59–68; 27:1–43, 62–66; 28:11–15}.

There is no official description of St. Paul’s life. He left fourteen Epistles with the foundations of the Christian dogma and detailed instructions needed for becoming a Christian and for establishing the Christian Church. His scarce self–references allow comprehension of the difficulties, suffering, persecutions, which he – aging and frail man – endured according to the will of God and for encouragement and education of many {Acts 9:10–16; 2 Corinthians 11:23–30; 1 Timothy 1:13–16; 2 Timothy 1:8–12; 3:11; 4:16–17; Matthew 10:29–30}. His writings reflect wisdom, which is not possible to withstand or contradict, and reveal the destiny common for many of those following Lord Jesus Christ. He left us the key to abundant riches of knowledge of God – the feast of wisdom offered to the hungry for knowledge and to the poor by spirit, and the insight into the mind carrying the power, which makes the human mind invincible, indestructible, and inaccessible to those who kill the body {Matthew 10:28; Luke 21:15–18; John 9:39–40}.

Foreseeing his imminent death, St. Paul wrote: “I have fought the good fight. I have accomplished the journey {τον δρομον τετελεκα – 2 Timothy 4:6–8; the Greek text conveys the meaning of coming to the end of the measured space allotted for run, finishing the race, road/distance, accomplishing the journey}. The journey, which Saul began at the road to Damascus, was ended in Rome: St. Paul the Apostle was beheaded in AD 64, according to the order of Nero who decided to exterminate all Christians in his empire.

St. Paul’s life reveals the vast potential of human mind – its infiniteness, for instance, as an ability to accommodate the depth of ignorance as well as the unlimited height of wisdom. He began with desire to eradicate Christianity, yet, with all his life, hard labor, suffering, faith, and joy of anticipation of God, he built the foundation of the Christian Church and therefore, paved for many the path to the kingdom of God – the invincible and indestructible eternal Empire, which is eliminating all futile establishments of men {Daniel 2:44}.

In general, the history of St. Paul the Apostle is defined by the same pattern that is behind the history of the Christian teachings: it is the passage from ignorance to wisdom, from weakness of the flesh to invincibility of the spirit, and from death to life. St. Paul’s life unfolds as the journey into another universe, where the values and hierarchies of the earthly establishments are worthless: as all true followers of Lord God Jesus Christ, he does not seek earthly authority, power, and wealth, and his strength is not the strength of this world. He carries the invincible spirit and faith, endures all persecutions, overcomes all the might of the Roman Empire, and proves that the power of mind, in which God dwells, is incomparably stronger than the power of physical coercion, physical suffering, and death are.

However, in the time of the Roman Empire, the human mind did not remove itself in so vast distance from God as it is now, when the precious knowledge of Christianity became the lot of the insignificant few and most of the keepers of the Christian faith closed themselves into the deep silence contemplating their treasure without sharing it {contrary to the definition of brotherly love – 1 John 3:16–17}.  Some of us became almost unseen and unheard*1* in the time

–– when so many make their living with propagation of atheism and with the attempts to sell figments of own impotent imagination –

the miserable by their insufficiency dream worlds masqueraded as philosophical doctrines and scientific truths,

–– when so many earn their couple minutes of fame with betrayal of humaneness, ideals, and virtues,

with the propagation of perversion and corruption of human mind and body,

with manufacturing and dissemination of false knowledge and other “fruits” of the ethics–free sciences

and – as the other side of the equation of death –

–– when so many are expected to consume obediently (and do consume) the poison of false and lies

supplied by the propagandists, false prophets, and ignorant dreamers

who nevertheless, identify themselves as the scientific, educational, political, social, and religious “elite.”

During the centuries that have passed since establishment of the Christian teachings, the multitudes of human beings who already gone through the Earth and who exist now increased immensely, therefore, the burden of lawlessness embodied into the false knowledge assumed the unprecedented proportions. The magnitude of corruption made manifest the latent before processes of degeneration of the human mind and human nature, which are inseparable of the lawlessness and its offspring – false knowledge. The overall “health” of mankind and conditions of the Earth reveal the results of these processes: it seems that all the signs of the last days of the Future identified by the prophecies of the Past are coming to the completion. However, the power of God neither diminishes nor changes; although the Earth will meet her destiny in the allotted time, the destiny of each living human being still can be changed {Matthew 24:3–44; Mark 13:5–33; Luke 21:6–36; Isaiah 9:14–20; 24:3–6, 16–23; 30:8–14; 34:1–4; 50:2–3; Hosea 4:1–3; Psalm 101(102):25–27; 1 Thessalonians 5:1–6; 1 Timothy 4:1–4; 2 Timothy 3:1–9, 12–17}.  Again and again, as it was in the beginning, each mind is offered the last–minute choice – to live or to die, to accept the false and live by flesh or to discard false, and then, to suffer humiliation, persecution, and sometimes, physical death, yet, to live by spirit.

…the legacy of St. Paul the Apostle… his life reveals the true – unlimited – potential of human mind. The physical weakness could accompany the mind, which becomes invincible and omnipotent when God comes to dwell in it {John 14:12–26; 2 Corinthians 12:9–12}, yet, all the might of the earthly empires, hierarchies, and weapons of destruction are not able to subdue a physically weak human being or to force to give up the knowledge of God, to change convictions, to reject freedom of thinking, and to influence the choice of own destiny: to live or to die…

Notes:

*1* When I try to understand why the true Christianity became for many the unknown universe, I think about our history: could centuries of misunderstanding, humiliation, persecution, and suffering to force us, the Christians, to revert to the silent contemplation of God and to give up our attempts to help the others who so many times rejected our faith and our efforts to bring them the truth? Who is capable or worthy to judge us if we choose to keep silence?

Just one example: the Great Schism and destruction of the Byzantine Empire might illustrate how this silence descended upon us.

Soon after Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire, the process of corruption of faith and substitution of the dreams of the heathen philosophy for the words of God triggered off the Great Schism. The Great Schism began in the sixth century with that what initially was comprehended as the discontent of the Patriarchs of Constantinople with the Bishops/popes of Rome who began their quest for the absolute power and authority over all Christendom [in 590, the 64th Roman pope Gregory I (590–604) openly asserted the claim on papal absolutism – Trager 57]. The Great Schism as the deep division between the Christian Church of Constantinople (which later became the Greek Orthodox Church) and the papal Church of Rome came to its zenith in 1204, after the sack of Constantinople accompanied with destruction of the Christian Churches and mass slaughter of the Greek Christians by the papal Crusaders.

During the centuries following the destruction of the Byzantine Empire and establishment of the Islamic Caliphate in Constantinople and adjacent lands, almost all physical foundation of the Greek Orthodox Church (churches, monasteries, academies, schools, and libraries) was ruined. Within the territories under the Muslim authorities, many Christians paid by their lives for dissemination of the Christian teachings, rejection of conversion into Islam, even for wearing the Cross and following the Christian manner of life; many children were snatched from the Christian families (to prevent them becoming Christians as their parents are) and sold into slavery, often in harems: girls to become concubines and boys to become eunuchs – guardians of the harems.

The European nations came under the “absolute” authority of the papal Church of Rome, and the papal Empire designed after the Roman Empire’s blueprint, covered almost all Europe. The Christian teachings had been barbarically misinterpreted and falsified with Platonic–Gnostic–Origen and Aristotelian–Manichean–Augustinian–Aquinas heresies. Then, the crimes against humanity committed by the Inquisition and by the papal subjects during the Crusades, religious wars, and persecutions of the schismatics, heretics and the different–minded were sacrilegiously ascribed to the teachings of Christ. As a result, now, the vast majority of global population either identifies Christianity with the papal faith – Catholicism or –– because of the history of corruption and crimes committed by the papacy and the papal subjects –– discards it entirely with hatred, disgust, and mockery.

However, in spite of two decisive events –

1/ the warning concerning the false prophets has became the actuality {Matthew 7:15–23; Luke 21:8; 2 Peter 2:1–3, 12–19; Jude 1:4, 7–19]}

and

2/ multiplication of those who do not want/need knowledge of truth –

still, would not the silence of the true Christians be the sin against God and against neighbors, the failure to accomplish the instructions of St. Paul the Apostle {1 Thessalonians 5:14–21; 2 Timothy 3:12–17; 4:1–5}?

The Desirable Knowledge

…Reveal Thyself to me…

{Exodus 33:13, 18}

Moses asks God: if I have found favor before Thee, reveal Thyself to me. So, I would comprehend that I would cognize Thee; so I would find favor before Thee, and so I would know that Thy people are of significant kind {Exodus 33:13}.

Moses wants to see God, so he would cognize Him – to know what is pleasing to Him and to know that the people are significant for God. God answered the plea of His servant. As much as a human being was able to see and to comprehend – yet to survive in the presence of God – was given to Moses. No one in the Old Testament time received so much knowledge of God and so much power to do the works of God as God gave to Moses, whom He knew “face to face” and with whom He spoke directly and openly as the one speaks with the friend {Exodus 33:11, 13–23; 34:5–9; Deuteronomy 33:10–12}.

Fourteen centuries after Moses, the knowledge of God – the knowledge that the prophets and righteous souls longed more than the thirsty flesh longs for life–giving water in arid barren desert*1*, the knowledge, which transforms slaves into the friends of God, was brought to men by Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God Who explained the Father and gave His knowledge – the knowledge of the Word–God – that is the everlasting life {Psalm 62(63):1; 142(143):6; John 1; 3:3–21; 5:39–46; 8:56–58; 10:30; 14; 15; 16:7–16; 17; 1 John}.

So, what would happen, if Solomon was wise enough to ask the knowledge of God, which Moses desired and which made Moses to hasten to bow down to the earth and to worship God {Exodus 34:5–8}?

Would be the course of history different, and Solomon would not become the apostate, and the ancient kingdom would not face division and ultimately, destruction*2*? Would extermination for the apostasy foretold by the prophets {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 28; 29; 30; Isaiah 2; 3; 5; 42:8; 44:6–20; 50:1–2; 59:1–19; 65:1–7, 11–15; Jeremiah 10:1–22; 16:10–13; 17:1–4; Micah 3; 6; 7:2–6, 11–13; Habakkuk 1; 2:1–19; Sophonias 1; 2; 3:1–6} never happen?

Would the horrifying history of anti–Semitism, forceful conversion, robbery and persecution of the Jews, “pogroms,” concentration camps, and all other crimes again humanity carried out by the beasts unleashed to annihilate apostasy, never become the actuality?

Would not the human wisdom fail by choosing judgment according to the flesh {in: 3 Kings 3:7–9; John 8:15}*3*, the history of human civilization would be different, and we would live in another reality.

In the existing reality, the lesson of apostasy should be learned by everyone who desires to survive and to obtain the everlasting life in the presence of God.

If to recall that the Old Testament’s prophets referred to apostasy and idol–worship of ancient Israelites as to adultery, whoring, and harlotry, the terrifying meaning is seen in the Solomon’s story. With all advanced abilities of his discerning and wise in the human matters heart, he began with judgment on two harlots {3 King 3:16–28; δυο γυναικες πορναι – 3 King 3:16}, and finished as apostate and idol–worshiper who, in the terms of the Books of the Old Testament*4*, by his apostasy, committed himself to harlotry (went a whoring) before God. Furthermore, because of Solomon’s apostasy, the kingdom he built with all his advanced abilities of the analytic mind, wealth, and violations of the ordinances and law, which God set through Moses, was divided, and the most part of it was given to Solomon’s slave – Jeroboam, a son of Sarira the harlot {3 Kings 11:24 – δουλος τω Σαλωμων, Ιεροβοαμ, και ονομα της μητρος αυτου Σαριρα, γυνη πορνη}.

In the New Testament, the meaning of sin is deepened, because the human evolution advanced to the last stage at the earth: the transformation of the human essence – soul, spirit, or soul–heart–mind – into the being prepared for the eternity with God the Spirit.

For instance, Lord Jesus Christ forgave the woman taken in adultery and the woman who was “a sinner in the city” and who kissed His feet, washed them with her tears, wiped with the hairs of her head, and anointed them with the precious oil {John 8:3–11; Luke 7:36–50}. Yet, He told those who maintained the appearance of righteousness – the learned scribes, Pharisees, priests – that they are the hypocrites, “serpents, offspring of viper” who murder and crucify and persecute the messengers of God and prophets {Matthew 12:34; 23:33–38}*5*. They worship in vain teaching the doctrines of men {Mark 7:1–9}, and the harlots (αι πορναι – sinners by body) – go before them into the Kingdom of God {Matthew 21:31–32}.

Furthermore, when Peter the disciple attempted to hinder the mission of Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and tried to convince Him do not go to Jerusalem {Matthew 16:21–23}, the Word–God gave to Peter (and thorough Peter, to the ones who desire to follow God) the lesson, which destroys the futile reasoning of men and makes clear the meaning of the absolute power of the only One God Who is Θεος ζηλωτης – jealous God*6* and the loyalty that He expects from His creations. The Lord turned to Peter and referring to him as to “Satan” (the arch–evil) ordered him to go behind Him, because he is an offense (σκανδαλον) to Him: he thinks the things of men, not things of God.

After the Lord’s words that God is the Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth, that He is the only Way to God the Father and Truth, that in His Name, the Holy Spirit will come to the one believing in Him and observing His commandments {John 4:23–24; 6:44; 14:6–7, 15–17, 26; 15:26; 16:13–15}, the mind that wants the eternity in the presence of God has the only choice: either God or His enemy {cf.: Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13; John 8:31–47}. It has to understand that the one, who is not of God, serves the arch–evil, belongs to the arch–evil, and will be condemned with the arch–evil.

As the Lord tells, every plant that was not planted by God the heavenly Father, shall be rooted out {Matthew 15:13}.

As the history illustrates, rejection of God is the spiritual harlotry, which has its end in διαφθορον – the totality of moral, social, and political ruin.

The referred above words of God allow comprehension why the Apostles warn the people do not be deceived by philosophy, by false prophets, false teachers – heretics and apostates who intentionally turned away from the truth, and why St. Paul the Apostle identifies human wisdom as insanity before God {Acts 20:29–30; 2 Peter 2; 3; Jude; 1 Corinthians 3:18–23; Romans 1:18–32; Colossians 2:4–10, 16–23}.

Those who are wise for themselves, yet insane before God, prepare the stage for the “the mystery of lawlessness,” which establishes idol–worship and gives the authority to the men of sin {“son of perdition” in: 2 Thessalonians 2:3–12} opposing and exalting themselves over everything that belongs to God and is called God. Such “sons of perdition” make gods of themselves and attempt to take the place of God in His temple – firstly, in the heart–mind of men; they are the destroyers of those who have delighted in unrighteousness, who live by the false, myths, and propaganda, who have no love to truth, and who lost the abilities to discern the evil and the good and to discriminate among the works of the good and the works of the evil.

Consequently, the one can infer that, for the Christian, apostasy, idol–worship, and materialism*7* as the rejection of God and subsequent inability to observe His law, therefore, to accomplish the purposes for the sake of which a human being exists, are ανομια of spirit – iniquity, lawlessness, or sin (αμαρτια): they are the spiritual harlotry*8*, *4*.

The spiritual harlotry is disseminated through knowledge of “other gods” and assertion of permissibility of any kind of corruption and perversion, especially, as the rites of idol–worship; the examples are the Orphism and other doctrines, which sustained the cults of the heathen nations surrounding Israel {the knowledge referred in the Holy Scriptures as lethal poison of asp and viper – e.g., Psalm 90(91):13; 139(140):3; Isaiah 59:2–5} and later, through the philosophical doctrines, social and political utopias of Plato, Aristotle, and their followers penetrated the Western civilization*5*. If the one desires to survive and enter the everlasting life in the presence of God, he should consider “knowledge” of the idol–worshipers as the lethal poison that debilitates the heart–mind and makes it incapable of perceiving God and being in the presence of God*9*.

With time, the knowledge desirable by Moses was opened for those who long for cognition of God {1 John 1:1–4}.

Because of His limitless mercy and the Perfect Love, God facilitated the road of those who desire to comprehend Him and to see that they cognize Him and could find favor before Him. Through Lord Jesus Christ, the Word God, the Perfect All–forgiving and Almighty Love was revealed to the creations of God to call them, through the Excellence, Glory, and Love of God, from the darkness into the marvelous Light, into the eternal Kingdom prepared for them from the beginning of times {Matthew 5:38–48; 11:28–30; Luke 6:27–36; John 1:1–18; 3:16–21; 10:30; 13:34–35; 14:1–28; 15; 17; 1 Peter 1; 2:1–9; 1 John 1:1–5; 2; 3; 4; 5}.

Since, the fear and harsh lessons of the first phase of human civilization are the Past: they were intended to prevent human failure and to secure healthy fruits of the harvest in the vineyard of the Lord; now, the time of harvest is close. God the Creator revealed Himself as the Father Who is the Perfect Love without fear, Who is the Absolute Good and Life everlasting and everything of man. The one comes to God the Father through faith in Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, and through love to Him: by observing His commandments and doing His works, the essence of which is love – love to God and love to His creations {in: Matthew 9:36–38; John 1:1–18; 3:16–21; 4:34–38; 6:43–58; 13:34–35; 14; 15; 17; 1 John; Hebrews 12:18–29; Ephesians 2:4–10; Revelation 14:14–16; Psalm 104(105); 105(106); 106(107); 135(136); 146(147);  Isaiah 5:1–30}.

And I think of

– the potential of a being created in image and after likeness of God – how much courage and fearlessness and longing for knowledge should be within the heart–mind of a mortal fragile man to enable him to ask Omnipotent God the Creator {Genesis; Exodus; Deuteronomy 4:11–20; 32; Psalm 89(90); 104(105):26–45; 135(136)} Whose presence was accompanied with the Fire that engulfed the mountain, earthquakes, tempest, and darkness, Who smote the might ruler of the Egypt with his army, Who opened the sea before the people, and Who gave them bread from the heaven and water from the rock: “Reveal Thyself to me, so I would see and cognize Thee, and find favor before Thee”!

– the love of God the Creator Who answered desire of His creation, and, along with knowledge of Him, gave the eternal life {Exodus 33; 34; Matthew 17:1–5; Mark 9:1–7; John 1; 14; 17; 1 John}.

Then, the answer to the ancient prophet’s question – what is man {in: Psalm 143(144):2}? – might be seen as the last point: the end of the human self–cognition obtained through the knowledge conveyed by the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ and writings of His apostles. Could this end be in comprehension that a human being is the firstfruit of particular creations of God made after the Word–God through Whom God creates, the living temple of the Living God, carrier of the Divine Light and the Almighty Holy Spirit, the slave, the working field and co–worker of God, the child of God created for the eternity with God {John 1; 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1:23–25; 1 John 3:2; Romans 1:1; Ephesians 1:3–23; 2:4–10, 13–22; 4:17–32; Colossians 1:9–23; 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16; 6:19–20; 2 Corinthians 6:16–18; Revelation 21; 22}?

*5* The Lord’s definition of the leaders of ancient Israel as “offspring of vipers” {Matthew 23:33} reveals the source of corruption: the doctrine of serpent–worshipers. This definition summarizes the Israel’s history of rejection of God, violations of the Law, and idol–worship, which resulted in inability to recognize the Messiah and the time of visitation {Malachi 3:1–7, 17; Luke 19:41–44; John 1:9–11}. The words of God, Who sees the true essence – the soul–heart–mind – of man, reveal the tragedy of the chosen people who after and with their leaders became the evil and adulterous and sinful generation, the ones who are not of God, the murderers of the righteous men and prophets sent by God, the likeness of the arch–enemy that was the murderer of men from the beginning, the hypocrites, evil and devoid of reason “blind guides” who lead the ignorant (“blind”) people incapable of comprehension the truth into the pit {Matthew 12:34; 16:1–4; 23:1–35; Mark 8:38; John 7:25–26, 30, 44–49; 8:44–47; 9:39–41}. The Orphism, which underlies the cults of the arch–evil in the image of the serpent, penetrated the ancient Greek philosophy, and through philosophical doctrines of Plato and Aristotle, became the foundation of the current cults, ideologies, religions, sciences, and politics founded on heresies and heathen Greek philosophy.

Concerning the complete meaning of Θεος ζηλωτης jealous God {Exodus 20:5; 34:14}, see the following excerpt from posting The Absolute Power, Folder Archive_2010, Page 4_September_2010

Excerpt

“The Absolute Power

At the time before giving the Law, when the human civilization was about to begin, everything was apparent: the people worshiped graven images and sacrificed their children to the dead stones.  Then, some people were chosen to worship invisible God Who has no form, no image, no likeness in the world He created, and Whose face a human being is not able to see and to continue to live. The chosen people have been told do not bow before other gods, because God is ζηλωτης.

English versions of the Holy Scriptures convey the Septuagint text  Θεος ζηλωτης εστι {Exodus 20:5; 34:14} as “God is Jealous,” as the derivative of  ζηλευ/ω  – to be jealous, envy. However, word ζηλωτης, which is derived from verb ζεω (to glow, to be hot, to be fervid, to be fervent) means excellent, perfect, superior, fervent/burning, ardent. With the summary of the Law given in another Book of Moses {Deuteronomy 6:4–5 –– “The Lord our God is One Lord. And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy mind, and with all thy soul, and all thy strength”}, the meanings of the attribute of God conveyed in Exodus with definition “Jealous” reveal a new concept, which the human mind later would define with word absolute  – απολητος: God is the Absolute, the Only One, Perfect, Supreme/Superior – One Lord our God. When Lord God Jesus Christ speaks of the Perfect God the Father {Matthew 5:48} He reminds us of the true meaning of the Law given through Moses.

The Holy Scriptures reveal also that the Word–God is the Absolute power of God–Creator, by which the word was created and exists now, of which the ancient prophets spoke, and by which this world will meet its end and the new perfect world will be created {John 1:1–4; Ephesians; Colossians 1:15–16; Deuteronomy 8:3; Psalm 104(105):19; 106(107):20; 118(119):11; 147:15; Isaiah 55:4–11; 65:17; Revelation 21:1–5}.

In the time of Moses, until the human mind would be ready to comprehend the concept of Absolute, the chosen people have to learn that they must

– become devout servants of One God Who they never knew, yet Who they should love with all mind, soul/heart, strength

– become unreservedly, completely, and wholeheartedly loyal to God

– not recognize other “gods”

– not make idols

– not serve the idols

– separate themselves from the heathen world in all matters, including physical contact: no marriage, no common food, especially prepared for the heathen rites, and no any connections with other nations {Exodus 20:1–6; 33:19; 34:5–17; Deuteronomy 6:4–6}.

Gradually, they discovered that three things correspond to such attributes of God as Jealous (or Absolute):

a) the will of God is the absolute – universal Law

b) the power of the Creator is the absolute power

c) God is the only true essence of the world; belief into other gods and a possibility to serve to them must not be admitted into the mind; even the names of other gods must not be mentioned.

Through this knowledge, the mind had to enter the reality which makes impossible the original sin – mistrust to God and disobedience to His will, and trust and obedience to the beast instead of God.

With this knowledge, the mind of human beast, that is easily deceived, controlled, and slaughtered by other beasts, had to be restored into the being created into image and likeness of perfect God and to become the vessel of His Law…”

*8* By the way, is not the spiritual harlotry (for instance, as go a whoring before true God by becoming an idol–worshiper, or betrayal of the main values that were the truth on which the system/establishment was founded and is able to survive) the essence of any apostasy and any betrayal, which precedes the actions of anyone whoever commit them, would this one be

– the official of the Christian Church who under the disguise of “fraternal love” and other slogans of the ecumenical movement strives for unification with the papal establishment that is for acceptance of main doctrine of the papal church (Aristotle–Aquinas political theology founded on heathen philosophy–derivative of the Orphism) instead of the Christian teachings and submission to the “strange god” of it – the deified pope?

– the one who betrays interests of his family–society–country and becomes disseminator of corruption and false knowledge/propaganda intended to destroy the original values and ways of life and to transform the people into the herd of beasts managed by deceit and capable of any crime?

– the one who steals information vital for his country survival and defects becoming a servant of the enemies of his people and his country?

– the adulterous wife?

– the adulterous husband?

The Total Ruin

…they that submitted themselves to corruption have been utterly destroyed…

{Isaiah 29:20}

The words of God that the people worship Him in vain by teaching the commandments of men {Isaiah 29:13–15; 30:1–2; Mark 7:1–16} describe the actuality of the society taken over and ruled by hypocrites and apostates: the Pharisees and scribes (the learned “elite” in positions of authority at all levels of political and religious hierarchies), Sadducees (administration of the temple), Herodians (royal court and executive power), chief–priests (Sanhedrin, the highest court and council that headed religious and civil authority). Nevertheless, they continue to observe rituals, to conduct public prayers and fasting, to speak of the law of God, to mention inheritance of Abraham and Moses, and to wear traditional clothing in order to maintain the apparent righteousness of the “chosen ones,” while in  fact {in: Matthew 12:24–42; 15:1–20; 16:1–16; 23:1–39; 24:1–22; Mark 7:1–16; 8:11–21; Luke 11:37–54; 16:13–15; 20:45–47; John 7:16–24, 31–49; 8:39–45; 9:39–47; 11:45–53; 12:37–43},

a/ they devised and follow new teachings*1*: they do not follow the Law given through Moses – they are the plant that shall be rooted out because it was not planted by God

b/ all their “wisdom,” rituals, and public prayers are abomination to God: they are the sons of the arc–evil, the walking graves embellished at the surface and full of uncleanness and the dead bones within, the adulterous generation, the “offspring of vipers,” the murderers of the prophets and the wise ones; they will not avoid the ruin

c/ they are devoid of reason – “blind leaders of the blind” who lead the people into the pit; the blood of all their victims shall be on them; they will be utterly destroyed.

Through the teachings of Pharisees and Sadducees {in: Matthew 16:5–12; Mark 7:1–16; 8:11–21; Isaiah 29:13–15; 30:1–2; 59:4–10}, the appearances and use of material things took the place of the spiritual loyalty and love to God; consequently, bewilderment, injustice, unrest, and iniquities – neither the righteousness with peace nor the law of God {in: Isaiah 5:7} – became the actuality. Ultimately, substitution of the doctrines of men for the law of God has brought the ancient kingdom to its collapse and complete ruin*2*.

However, the διαφθορον – total ruin, or utter destruction – that was predicted by the prophets and became the history of the ancient Israel*2* is the completion of some processes. The core, or the root, from which these processes sprung and became the actuality, also is known: idol–worship and apostasy*3*. How then, the chosen people were set free to claim the path of ruin, to take the way into the darkness and pit {Matthew 15:13–14; John 3:19–20}? What did happen between these two points – opening of the core of destruction (becoming apostate, for instance) and completion (the irreversible collapse, the utter destruction)?

In other words, how the total moral, religious, and political ruin is initiated and how it proceeds?

Isaiah the prophet {Isaiah 29:9–21; 30:1} conveys the words of God “Woe to the apostate children who have framed counsel not by Me and covenants not by My Spirit, to add sins to sins”. The prophet explains how the ruin is initiated: the Lord shall close the eyes of the people, and the prophets, and the rulers – those who see the hidden things: He shall give them the spirit of disheartening and deaden their eyes (πνευματι κατανυξεως, και καμμυσει τους οφθαλμους  αυτων). So for them, the hidden things (e.g., the true meaning of the events, the consequences, the future) shall be as the sealed book, which is not possible to read. The Lord shall proceed to remove them: He shall deprive of wisdom the wise ones, and take out understanding from the reasonable ones.

Consequently, the one can make two inferences:

1/ “the apostate children” are those

a/ who live not by God

b/ whose actions are inconsistent with the nature of the world,

because they are not based on the law of God, according to which the world is created and exists

c/ who are destined for extermination

2/ complete ruin is initiated through

a/ inability of men to comprehend true meaning of events and their consequences

b/ deprivation of wisdom

c/ absence of understanding.

For instance, when a Christian becomes an apostate, he rejects faith in Lord Jesus Christ. At this point, his inner essence begins to undergo two changes: the change of perception*4* and the change of intellect–intelligence–reasoning*5*. The apostate’s intellect, as well as his entire essence – soul–heart–mind, is altered, so it loses its resemblance to the image of God:

the intellect (Νους) is cut off from the connection with God,

so it does not receive the Divine Energy, which empowers the intellect to possess wisdom

the mind (Διανοια) does not receive the energy

that should descend from God into the Νους and become the thoughts,

which sustain existence and evolution within the world of the material things

consequently, there is no food – energyknowledge – for normal operation of

consciousness/thinking/reasoning (γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος)

the mind becomes unable to adequately process information

received through the sensory faculty Αισθητηρια Οργανα,

which maintains orientation and physical survival within the world of the structured matter.

From another angle of consideration, it might be said that the mind of apostate collapses into the state of χουν απο της  γης –  the pouring dust of the earth {Genesis 2:7}, which is not created–formed–structured*6* by the Word–God, by the Absolute Power*7* of God, and therefore, which has no στερεωμα*8*. Consequently, the apostate’s mind

does not have the Word–God within

does not live by the Law of God

does not have love to God

is not empowered by the Holy Spirit

is not of God

does not receive the Energy from God,

which sustains evolution–transformation into the being

who is capable of everlasting life in the presence of God

In summary, the mind of the one who is not of God has no inner space/place within {χωρει εν υμινJohn 8:37, where χωρει is a derivative of χωρα (χωρη)space, place, position, settings} for the Word–God. Hence, this is why the Holy Scriptures convey the definition “not of God”: such a heart–mind does not have the Word–God within; by rejecting the faith and through violations of the law of God, it became the living dead.

The leaving dead is unable to recognize the breath of God within own soul–heart–mind; he is empowered neither to accept the life–giving words of God that would prepare him for the eternal life {in: John 6:47, 62–63, 68–69; 8:37, 43, 51; 10:27–30} nor to perceive adequately the reality of the temporal world of the structured matter. The mind of such a being lost abilities to comprehend the true meaning of the events and their consequences and is incapable of the right judgment {in: Isaiah 59:4–10}: it misinterprets the actuality, makes wrong decisions, lives in bewilderment and misery, contemplates iniquities and destruction, and ultimately, ruins the piece of the world/reality, which is within its influence or under its control {e.g., in: Isaiah 24; 30:9–14}.

When the mind becomes incompatible with the nature of the world created by God for evolution of man, it is unable to perceive–analyze–evaluate information and data adequately, according to the actuality, to incorporate them with existing knowledge, and to create new knowledge of the actuality, without which physical survival, as well as spiritual development/evolution within the constantly changing world of dissipating material structures is impossible. Consequently, as any being incapable of evolution, it enters the short phase of stagnation, after which it undergoes degeneration completed with total spiritual, intellectual, and moral ruin.

Also, it might be said that by discarding the faith in God and the law of God, the mind leaves the light and goes into the darkness {in: John 3:18–21}: it discards the framework of knowledge that

a/ explains the nature and operations of the world and its elements, components, living beings, and material objects

b/ sustains survival and evolution of the human mind.

The key to understanding of the purpose and consequences of these changes is in the words of God {John 15:1–6}: without the Word–God Who is the Holy Wisdom – Λογος, Αγια Σοφια, and Glory of God, human beings are empowered of nothing. Those who do not live by God and who are not in God {the plants not planted by God, the ones who have no place within them for the Word–God, those who are not of God – in: Matthew 15:13; John 8:37–47} become the withered branches, the food of the exterminating fire.

In the contemporary terms, this process might be described as disintegration of a system that has been cut off the source of life–sustaining energy and became unable to function according to its design and to accomplish the purposes for which it has been created.

And I think of inconsistency of the protective structures/establishments of the contemporary societies, countries, states. At least some of them have access to the researches that confirm the energy nature of the mind and lead to the inference that such energy may come only from one Source – God {e.g., in: Psalm 18(19); 103(104), esp. 103(104):30; 147:15; Isaiah 40:21–31; Acts 14:15–17; 17:22–31; Romans 1:19–32; 2:14–16}.

In such societies and states, many are taught at least some life–saving rules; for instance, how to protect themselves from exposure to the elements, how to drive car safely, how to take care of family and children, how to avoid toxic substances and hazards, and so on.

However, it is hard to find those who teach children to survive and to accomplish the purposes of the good in the world of the evil and to prepare themselves for the eternity with God. Such knowledge, as well as the very mentioning of Lord God Jesus Christ and Christian teachings, became almost unknown, or “politically incorrect,” or forbidden in many societies, especially in those, which identify themselves as free countries that pursue human rights and defend “civil liberties.”

Yet, the actual freedom is the permissibility (or even obligation – for countries with mandatory public schooling) to expose children to the corruptive influence of false teachers and perverts, culture of violence and corruption, propaganda and myths spread by media in pursuit of transformation of the people created by God into the heard of beasts controlled by deceit and managed by lies. In addition, the daily reality also includes papal priests–pedophiles and abusers that have access to children through religious educational and charitable institutions*9*.

Many loving parents teach their kids do not talk to strangers, do not use narcotics, and to do some other things that facilitate physical safety and survival. Yet, still, many are deprived of the knowledge of the law of God and the knowledge of God that nourishes the soul–heart–mind and provides a possibility to evolve into the children of God who will live in the presence of God through the eternity.

Does not upbringing of the people deprived of the knowledge of God – the knowledge that gives the everlasting life {John 17} – look as spiritual infanticide?...

Sunday’s Thoughts by Alice–Alexandra–Sofia  http : // alicealexandrasofia.net/

*1* The “new teachings” was the Pharisee–Sadducee–Herodian heresy developed on basis of the doctrines, which sustained the cults of the heathen nations surrounding Israel. The Lord’s definition of the leaders of ancient Israel as “offspring of vipers” {Matthew 23:33} reveals the source of corruption: the doctrine of serpent–worshipers. This definition summarizes the Israel’s history of rejection of God, violations of the Law, and idol–worship, which resulted in inability to recognize the Messiah and the time of visitation {Malachi 3:1–7, 17; Luke 19:41–44; John 1:9–11}.

The source of corruption is the doctrine of serpent–worshipers: the Orphism, which underlies the cults of the arch–evil in the image of the serpent and which became the foundation of many heathen religious that existed in the Middle East. This knowledge is referred in the Holy Scriptures as the wine produced by the vine of Sodom that carries the rage of serpents and incurable rage of asps {θυμος δρακοντων ο οινος αυτων, και θυμος ασπιδων ανιατος – Deuteronomy 32:16–33}, as lethal poison of asp and viper (e.g., Deuteronomy Psalm 90(91):13; 139(140):3; Isaiah 59:2–5; Romans 11:13}.

The warning concerning the lethal poison of idol–worshipers – the death, which watches over those who turn away from God, is one of the main themes of the Holy Scriptures, which runs through the entire Book of Life {Deuteronomy, Psalm 90, The Book of Isaiah the Prophet, The Gospel According to St. Luke, and Epistle to Romans by St. Paul the Apostles}. Obviously, the Holy Scriptures refer not to the poison produced by creatures of flesh, which might be rendered harmless with physical power and weapon of men; the poison is knowledge of the idol–worshipers. Later, through the philosophical doctrines, social and political utopias of Plato, Aristotle, and their followers this knowledge carrying “the incurable rage of asps” penetrated the Western civilization.

“Concept of Wisdom, Knowledge, and Reason/Intelligence

οτι χωρις εμου ου δυνασθε ποιειν ουδεν

Apart from Me, you are not able to do anything…

{John 15:5}

…On the basis of The Gospel According to John and other texts of the Holy Scriptures, the Christian theologians [Maximus the Confessor, Thalassios the Libyan, Symeon New Theologian, Gregory the Theologian, John of Damascus, Gregory of Sinai, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory Palamas, and the others, in: Philokalia; One Hundred and Fifty Chapters; and the others] composed the concept of human intellect, intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge.

In the contemporary terms, one of the inferences from this concept is a supposition that human wisdom is the unity of the will, ability, and power to create the good according to the will of God: to cognize/comprehend knowledge, which empowers the mind to evolve, and then, to embody the acquired knowledge into own way of life and into the world, which sustains existence; therefore, to accomplish the purposes for the sake of which a human being has been created*11*

 …the concept of human essence (soul–heart–mind) and its connection with God and with the world of the structured matter, which accommodates human existence, might be described with the following chart:

God the Father

Word–God        Holy Spirit

                                  Λογος, Αγια Σοφια      Ο Παρακλητος, το Πνευμα το Αγιον

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

↓             ↑

The world composed by derivatives of the Divine Creative Energy of God:

the set of the energy fields,

which makes possible existence of the temporary structured matter–carrier of life

Accordingly, the entire realm of knowledge that accommodates life of human intellect–intelligence–reasoning consists of three interconnected domains:

Knowledge from above – the knowledge of God

and His laws

(Theology; the levels of Νους and Διανοια)

Knowledge created by the mind;

for instance, knowledge of the world and human place in it

(the level of Διανοια; e.g., Philosophy, Logic)

↓     ↑

Knowledge inferred from the parameters of the world of the structured matter,

which makes possible physical survival

(the levels of  Γνωμα –– Φρονημα–– Λογισμος

and Αισθητηρια  Οργανα;

e.g., natural and other sciences)

The mind, which rejects God, loses the access to the spiritual knowledge and become unable to obtain wisdom; such a mind operates at the levels of Διανοια, Γνωμα ––Φρονημα––Λογισμος, and Αισθητηρια Οργανα, which maintain physical survival. Then, gradually, existence of the mind, which has lost access to the spiritual knowledge and wisdom, becomes limited with the functions, which maintain only physical survival, or life of flesh – sensory faculty and the lower levels of the reasoning, including imagination. For such a mind, materialism becomes the actuality and the way of life*14*.

However, if the mind rejects life of spirit and accepts materialism as the reality, it cuts itself from the life at the level of Νους: it deprives itself of the access to the life–creating divine energy that comes through the Word–God. Then, it feeds itself with self–produced knowledge assembled from the images created with the information received through the sensory faculty. Such way of existence, or living by the figments of imagination, is some kind of spiritual self–eating that, at the level of the structured matter (body), might be likened to self–cannibalism.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son – about the one who left house of the Father, squandered his inheritance and, being in need, longed to fill himself with the food of pigs {Luke 15:11–32} illustrates the case when the energy carried by images of the temporal disintegrating matter takes the place of the energy of life coming from God. Then, only by the mercy of God could such a being come to entirety of human life – harmony of the spirit–intelligence–matter focused on evolvement into the immortal being*15*.

Excerpts

The world described in the first and second chapters of Genesis was the evolving reality, because all living creatures received the blessing of God to evolve: they had to increase and multiply and fill their sphere {αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατεGenesis 1:22}. In addition to the blessing to evolve (to increase and multiply and fill the earth), man was given the purposes και κατακυρειυσατε αυτης – to subdue and to dominate the world filled with the all living creatures {Genesis 2:28}.

The traditional translation of Greek textαυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατε  – Genesis 1:22, 28 – is “Increase and multiply and fill.”

However, the overall meaning of this logical block is much more complicated: it means to evolve, to accomplish/fulfill, to become complete:

in the word αυξανεσθε ξα ( and modified ξη/ξε  – is the root for words denoting development, growth, and evolution (lit. and fig.) as in

αυξανω – to grow, enlarge, increase

εξελιξη – evolution

the word πληρωσατε is the derivative of primary verb πλεωto fulfill, to accomplish, to make full, and then, πληρηςcomplete, full.

Therefore, God’s blessing – αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατε defines the purposes of man as his own evolution (definitely, development as increase may not be only about physical parameters; multiplication and making all full/complete – that is reaching the higher level of development/complexity at which the full potency can be exercised), within the evolving world (whose inhabitants received the same commandment, therefore, the world itself should be capable of development necessary to sustain evolution of all its inhabitants), maintenance of the evolution of the world accommodating his existence, and reaching the completion.

Consequently, the one can infer that the man of the first two chapters of Genesis had three interconnected purposes:

to evolve himself, to become complete within the evolving world

to dominate the evolving world

to maintain evolution of the evolving world.

Then, after exile from the Paradise, the creative works of man are accomplished by the mind, by creating thoughts – the energy entities, which, having being embodied into the material structures (books, constructions, establishments, societies, empires, other edifices), maintain human existence within the world, which is collapsing because of cognition of the evil.

The creative abilities of the Old Testament’s mind might be seen as the remnants of rudimental abilities of the creation made in the image and after likeness of the Omnipotent Almighty God. In the New Testament, the creative abilities are the natural abilities of the beings that are born by the Word of truth and are evolving into the likeness of the Word–God and συνεργοι {1 Corinthians 3:9}  – co–workers of God .

With coming of the Word–God, a human being is re–created and the process of evolution as the imitation of God – the process, which would result in obtaining the eternal life in the presence of God – is initiated. It means that even within the limited temporal and collapsing world the human mind, through faith and knowledge of God as the gifts of the Holy Spirit, might be enabled to create the evolving systems as it was appointed by God from the foundation of the world…”

“…Evolution is the totality of normal or natural processes called also “life” or “existence” for any of beings created by God; in general, natural life of each living creature is development of the maximal potency according to the God’s will/plan; “optimization” is the term describing some aspects of the evolution. The term “evolution” is applicable to all living purposeful systems: a human being, mankind, human society, etc.

In general, evolution is a life–cycle of any being, which exists for a purpose and which has an ability to create–absorb–accumulate–transmit knowledge of good and to embody the knowledge of good into the structures and systems of the surrounding world. This knowledge stipulates achievement of the particular purposes – creation of good, maintenance of life and optimization of other systems, actualization of technical and other kinds of progress or the processes intended to facilitate life and development of human beings and their creations/establishments.

In brief, evolution is the process – development resulting in ability to ascend to the higher level of complexity. Knowledge is the force driving evolution. The last phase of the evolution of human mind is the ultimate choice between the evil imagination of man and the true knowledge of God: the evolution is accomplished when the mind discards all illusions, fantasies, and false assumptions, embraces the only true reality – the reality of the One Perfect – Absolute – God Whose power is the absolute power and Whose mercy is perfect mercy, and becomes that what it was created to be – the temple–dwelling of the Creator. The first step to the ultimate perfection is understanding that acceptance of the knowledge of God the Father and observance of the commandments of Lord God Jesus Christ precedes coming of the Spirit–Fire Who descends on those who are chosen to became the temple of God and to dwell with God in eternity of His kingdom {Luke 12:49; John 3:3–6; 7:39; 14:15–17, 23, 24; Revelation 21:27; 22:3–5; Isaiah 64:8}.

Then, knowledge of God should fill the mind and become the absolute truth and the only reality of existence:

God is the Absolute, the ultimate perfection, the only truth

the Love of God make a human being perfect creation ready for the eternity

the knowledge of God is the only valuable possession

there is none and there is nothing besides God.

It means also that in the world created by God and given into dominion of man, nothing is able or should attempt to take the place of God or pretend on possession by any of the attributes of God. Whatever good men are able to create, they create it only if the power of God acts through them.

In the terms of systems theory, evolution is the process of increasing the level/degree of complexity…”

The Absolute Power

…you were redeemed for the precious price, do not become slaves of men…

{1 Corinthians 7:23}

The chosen people have been told do not bow before other gods because God is ζηλωτης. When Lord God Jesus Christ speaks of the Perfect God the Father {Matthew 5:48}, He reminds us of the true meaning of the Law given through Moses. The Holy Scriptures reveal also that Word–God is the Absolute power of God–Creator, by which the word was created and exists now, of which the ancient prophets spoke, and by which this world will meet its end and the new perfect world will be created {John 1:1–4; Deuteronomy 8:3; Psalm 104(105):19; 106(107):20; 118(119):11; 147:1–8; Isaiah 55:8–11; 65:17; Revelation 21:1–5}.

In the time of Moses, until the human mind would be ready to comprehend the concept of Absolute, the chosen people have to learn that they must

– become devout servants of One God Who they never knew, yet, Who they should love with all mind, soul/heart, strength

– become unreservedly, completely, and wholeheartedly loyal to God

– not recognize other “gods”

– not make idols

– not serve the idols

– separate themselves from the heathen world in all matters, including physical contact: no marriage, no common food, especially prepared for the heathen rites, and no any connections with other nations {Exodus 20:1–6; 33:19; 34:11–16; Deuteronomy 6:4–5}.

With this knowledge, the mind of human beast, that is easily deceived, controlled, and slaughtered by other beasts, had to be restored into the being created into image and likeness of perfect God and to become the vessel of His Law.

Therefore, the purification, refinement, and optimization of the human mind (also known as the evolution) began with

a/ revelation of the Law and establishment of the Absolute

b/ separation from the source of contamination (the knowledge and manner of life of the surrounding idol–worshiping nations)

c/ cognition of the Law and implementation of the Law into the life of mind and body.

In the beginning of the New Testament’s time, the ancient definiteness was over: the invisible, yet irresistible for many, phantoms of wealth, power, and pride took the place of stone and wooden idols and crawled into the mind; the apostasy became hidden, covered by the apparent righteousness. Although the people learned to observe the laws of Moses through actions (for instance, such as separation from the heathen nations and donations to the temple), the new profound division, at the level of the mind, became the reality: the people continued to honor God with their words and observe the physical rituals of purification and worship, yet, they have hardened their hearts and separated themselves from God.

For instance, the “blind leaders” (scribes and Pharisees) of “the holy nation of priests” learned to appear righteous by following the rituals (by the flesh), yet, they were full of lawlessness within (in heart); they came to resemble the whitewashed graves, which look beautiful outwardly, yet, are full of dead bones and uncleanness within. God refers to them as to the hypocrites who strive to convert people, yet, when succeed, make a proselyte a son of Gehenna (the Hell)  twofold more than they themselves are {Matthew 15:1–9, 17–20; 23:1–38; Mark 2:16; 3:1–6; John 1:10–11}.

However, centuries of strict observance of the Law prepared some of the people to next phase of development: they became ready to comprehend new knowledge of God and to imitate perfection of God through love and mercy toward all creations of God; they became ready to meet the Messiah, to embrace His teachings, to love Him, to observe His commandments, and through Him, to return to God the Father.

The knowledge of the Absolute–Perfect God does not leave place for other attachments. Lord God Jesus Christ warned His followers that there is no peace for them in this world, because He brought the dividing sword, which would separate them from everything that is not a part of His Kingdom: the Spirit creates life, while the flesh benefits nothing. Consequently, the whole world would not benefit man who forfeits his soul*1*. Therefore, the believers must {Matthew 10:34–39; 16:24–26; Luke 12:51–53; John 6:63}

a/ overcome attachments to the world of the matter and forsake its reflections – the realm of dreams, illusions, assumptions, and earthly values, which people imagine/create/perceive and then, accept as the meaning of own existence and identify with own consciousness and with own conscience

b/ bear own cross – knowledge of the reality and the mission to accomplish the will of God

c/ follow Lord Jesus Christ: to fulfill the will of God the Father as He – the Son of God and the Son of man – does.

The last phase of the evolution of human mind is the ultimate choice between the evil imagination of man and the true knowledge of God: the evolution is accomplished when the mind discards all illusions, fantasies, and false assumptions, embraces the only true reality – the reality of the One Perfect – Absolute – God Whose power is the absolute power and Whose mercy is perfect mercy, and becomes that what it was created to be – the temple–dwelling to the Creator. The first step to the ultimate perfection is understanding that acceptance of the knowledge of God the Father and commandments of Lord God Jesus Christ precedes the birth by the Spirit–Fire Who descends on those who are chosen to became the temple of God and to dwell with God in eternity of His kingdom {Luke 12:49; John 3:3–6; 7:39; 14:15–17, 23, 24; Revelation 21:27; 22:3–5; Isaiah 64:8}.

Then, knowledge of God should fill the mind and become the absolute truth and the only reality of existence: God is the Absolute, the ultimate perfection, the only truth, the only valuable possession; there is nothing besides God. It means also that in the world created by God and given into dominion of man, nothing is able or should attempt to take the place of God or pretend on possession by any of the attributes of God. Whatever good men are able to create, they create it only if the power of God acts through them…”

Notes:

*1* The human soul comes to life and lives by the Spirit of God: man became a living soul after God inhaled His breath into the nostrils of a creature formed from the dust of the ground {Genesis 2:7}. The soul–essence of man (the mind in the contemporary terms) is the temple in which God dwells; without God, the mind does not live. If man denies God–Spirit for the sake of the world–flesh–matter, he forfeits his own soul and transforms himself into the beast; he becomes an animated matter or the “living dead,” because of absence of the divine Spirit–breath of God within. Then, an appearance of a human being disguises the living dead – the beast of flesh similar to animals and other earthly creatures, which do not carry the image of God. Yet, the beast exists (and vanishes) according to the laws of the matter, which was created to propagate and to sustain life of other beings. There is an irreconcilable difference between two types of the human mind: the sheep of God and the sheep of man {conf. in: John 10:1–16; Matthew 24:4–5, 11, 23–24; 1 Peter 5:1–3; 2 Peter 2:1–3, 14–21; 1 Corinthians 7:23}…”

*8* Στερεωμα is the firmament: the framework, which was created by God and within which the evolving world came into being under the Heaven {Genesis 1}. The same pattern might be discerned in creation of the immortal human child of God.

The Word–God creates the foundation – στερεωμα {as the firmament of the new world – Genesis 1:6; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23–25; Ephesians 2:10} within the human essence and gives the knowledge of God that is the everlasting life: on the στερεωμα, by the Holy Spirit, the immortal child of God is created–built–established with knowledge of God, Power of God, and Energy issuing from God {in: Psalm 103(104):30Εξαποστελεις το Πνευμα Σου και κτισθησονται - Thou shall send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created( established/made); Psalm 17(18):1–2: Αγαπησω Σε, Κυριε ισχυς μου. Κυριος στερεωμα μουI love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my firmament; John 1:1–4, 12–13; 3:5–6; 7:37–39; 16:13–15; Ephesians 2:1–22}.

Στερεωμα of the human soul–heart–mind is the Word–God – the knowledge of God (His Law, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good) that is the everlasting life {John 17:3, 6}: this knowledge makes possible life by the Holy Spirit. See also posting The Abundant GoodFolder Archive_2013, Page  2_March 2013.

When the one accepts the Word–God, the knowledge that He gives – the knowledge of God (knowledge of the law of God, His will, His commandments, His mercy, His Perfection and His Love – the Absolute Good), becomes the Firmament {Κυριος Στερεωμα μου – The Lord is my Firmament – Psalm 17(18):2} – the foundation–framework–space, in which a human being

evolves into the dwelling of God

is enabled to accept the Holy Spirit of God – the Divine Fire Who ignites the eternal life within the creature of dust

is enabled to enter the eternity in the presence of God.

By Christ and in Christ – by the Word–God and in the Word–God – an immortal human child of God comes into being and will be resurrected for the eternity with God {John 1:12–13; 3:16–17; 11:25–26; 17; 1 Peter 1; 1 John 3:1–3; Ephesians 2:10, 13–22}.

The recent revelations concerning world–wide abuse of children in the referred above UN report of January 31, 2014, which also mentions the Magdalene laundries of Ireland run by the papal establishment under the heading Torture and other cruel or degrading treatment or punishment, in Part D. Violence against Children, officially opens for the world the deeds of the papal establishment that under cover of the religion, which the papacy blasphemously associates with Christianity, harbors pedophiles and perverts, abuses and tortures children, and destroys moral and physical health of the papal subjects. However, the most revealing is not the UN Report itself; the most revealing points are

1/ the Vatican’s response to the UN report concerning world–wide abuse of children in the papal establishments is the complain that “it interfered with church teaching and religious freedom” [in: The U.N. Confronts the Vatican –  http: // www. nytimes.com/2014/02/06/opinion/the-un-confronts-the-vatican.html?src=recg]

2/ the Vatican’s attempt to separate jurisdiction of the Vatican over its territory and jurisdiction of the local episcopates under the papal power, while, the papacy constantly asserts its world–wide power and claims the right on the unreserved obedience to the superiors – the first one of them is the pope.

However, the UN Report notices that “subordinates in Catholic religious orders are bound by obedience to the Pope in accordance with Canons 331 and 590. The Committee therefore reminds the Holy See that by ratifying the Convention, it has committed itself to implementing the Convention not only on the territory of the Vatican City State but also as the supreme power of the Catholic Church through individuals and institutions placed under its authority” [UN Report, III.8].

So, although the papal establishment did not hesitate to burn people alive for disobedience to the papal superiors and rejection of the papal pretense on the place of God [[e.g., see postings in Folder Archive_2008_2009: The Priest, and Heresy – Page_2_2008]], and through the centuries after the Great Schism relentlessly pursued subjugation of the Orthodox Christianity [[and continues its efforts through the ecumenical movement –see Ecumenism in Folder World & War or download file @ website Systems Logic by Alice–Sofia http: // systemslogic–by–alicesofia.net/ : The World & The War –  Page LIBRARY_2]], now, when the people attempt to curb the lechery of pedophiles and to stop abuse of children, it attempts to cover itself with hypocritical statements concerning territorial jurisdiction and “church teaching and religious freedom.”

However, if to take into consideration the nature of the papal establishment, the one might conclude that there is no possibility to ever have the satisfying response or to expect complete extermination of the abusive practices from the daily life of the papal establishment. The establishment works according to Aquinas’ doctrine [[see Folder Heathen Philosophy:  Doctrine of Thomas Aquinas; Folder Political Theology: Political Theology, The Hierarchical Church, and The Church Militants; Folder Archive_2008_2009: The Priest, and Heresy – Page_2_2008]]; in particular, on the basis of assumptions

a/ “special grace” of the papal office issuing from the “divinely appointed functionary” – the deified pope

b/ specific “virtue of authority,” according to which even the wicked sinners, if they are prelates and princes, stand at the place of God and have a “share of the dignity of God,” and the issuing papal assertion that priests in the state of mortal sin can discharge their duties; then, the place at the papal hierarchy protects the wicked sinner from just punishment

c/ the power of the pope to override the law of God.

The Web of Life

…my spirit was with me as a weaver’s web,

when she that weaves draws nigh to cut off the thread…

{Isaiah 38:12}

It was the time of illness and death for Ezekias the king {Isaiah 38:1–20; 4 Kings 20:1–11}. Isaiah the prophet brought to the king a message from God: “put your house in order, because you shall die and not live.” Ezekias turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord; he asked God to remember that he walked before Him in truth and has done that is good. And Ezekias wept bitterly. Then, the wonderful thing happened: the Prophet came back to tell the king that God has heard his prayer and has seen his tears. God decided to heal him and to add fifteen years to his life–time; moreover, God promised to protect him and his city from the Assyrian king. So, Ezekias recovered and lived in peace and prosperity awhile, according to the promise of God.

The story of the ancient king (eighth century BC) not only confirms that the Future of a human being is not fixed – everything might be changed by the mercy of God; it provides an insight into the inner world of those who lived before us, in the time when the prophets declared God’s will to the kings, and the kings had knowledge of God as well as of the world they ruled.

When Ezekias faces the imminent (as he thinks) death, he sees the remnants of his life as the pitched tent, which is taken away. He compares his spirit that he has to give up to the web of the weaver who cuts off the thread {Isaiah 38:12}.

In the Ezekias’ time, the nomad pitched the tent for the time of resting, and then, took it down and carried to the next stop. The woman–weaver attached threads to the wooden frame and made a web – some kind of a foundation from the threads, which she then, woven–developed into the fabric: she interwove more and more threads into the web–foundation until the fabric was complete. Then, she cut off the ends of the threads from the wooden frame and took fabric out. Garments were made from the fabric; the wooden frame was used again, for the next work.

When Isaiah the prophet speaks of the transformation of the chosen people into apostates – idol–worshipers who rebelled against God and rejected His commandments, he describes the consequences of apostasy and symptoms of the coming destruction {Isaiah 59:1–15}. Those who revolted against God do not know the way of peace and judgment:

they walk in perplexity

they have the distorted perception (referred to as blindness, – as they have no eyes, as those who feel the wall, yet cannot see and avoid it)

their ways are bloodshed, unrighteousness, misery and destruction, judgment departed from them, and there is no salvation – it is gone far from them.

their works are as the spider’s webs, with which they attempt to cover themselves

yet, these webs shall not become the garment: the works are fruitless, because they are the works of iniquity.

In general, it might be concluded that Isaiah’s description conveys symptoms of degeneration resulted from deprivation of the life–sustaining energy. Normally, this energy empowers normal functioning of human perception and reasoning that sustains survival and makes possible development–evolution of human beings and human societies/establishments. Absence of this energy transforms a human being into the “living dead” that, while undergoing processes of annihilation, initiates collapse and destroys all that he is able to reach or to control.

So, what are the webs mentioned by Ezekias the king and Isaiah the prophet?

The human mind lives by the specific energy that issues from God, and which at the level of material manifestation (overall activities, behavior, spoken and written words) is referred to as wisdom and knowledge.

The Holy Scriptures explain origin of wisdom and knowledge: our God is the God of knowledge, from His presence, wisdom and understanding come. God protects the righteous and preserves the way of those who fear Him. His Wisdom comes into the human soul–heart–mind and brings salvation, because the good counsel and the reason–understanding keep the one safe and protect from the evil and from the unfaithful ones. Not by strength, nor by mighty power, nor by weapon prevails man: by the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God life and salvation, wisdom and victory come {1 Kings 2:3–9; Psalm 110(111); Proverbs 2:6–12; 3:13–26; Zacharias 4:6}.

Therefore, the energy coming from God empowers His creation to possess wisdom (as the power and abilities to act according to the Law of God: for accomplishment of own purposes of survival and evolution, and for the sake of the good of the others) and to comprehend and to create knowledge that makes possible survival and evolution.

Consequently, the king and the prophet envision a human spirit–mind as a creative force that builds human life as a woman weaves garment. For instance, all minds create webs (nets, systems) of thoughts–knowledge, and embody them into words and actions (threads), with which the human lives are accomplished within the world of the structured matter (the Ezekias’ wooden frame of the weaver).

The combination of two metaphors spoken by Ezekias – the pitched tent and the web of threads/fabric cut out of the frame – reveals not only Ezekias’ poetic thinking. Ezekias has the primary knowledge of the essence of the world, which was created by God, which will come to its accomplishment, become worn out, and will be changed by the Creator {Psalm 101(102):25–27; Revelation 21:1–6}:

the energy–spirit creates the matter–flesh

life is the temporary shelter for the spirit,

by whom man creates the fabric of his life.

The Ezekias’ vision implies knowledge of the Creator, of which David – the Ezekias’ predecessor – wrote {Psalm 103(104); and other Psalms}. The superbly great works of God are accomplished in Wisdom, He sends His Spirit and they are created, and He shall renew the face of the earth. A human being has a place and purposes according to God’s plan and within the God’s household – the realm of His creations.

So, concerning a human being, it might be said that

the breath of God creates the living human soul {Genesis 2:7}

the soul – essence (or spirit–heart–mind) – of a human being determines his life

within the temporal world of the structured matter

the human spirit–heart–mind creates the unique masterpiece of his life within this world,

as weaver weaves the fabric with the web of threads attached to the wooden frame.

In the time of the New Testament, the primary knowledge of life was brought to the completion: everything that lives, breathes, and obtains immortality, does it by the Law, through the Energy – Love and Wisdom, and Power of God, Who we know as God the Father, from Whom the Word–God and the Holy Spirit come:

the Spirit of God is the everlasting life of man, and this life is granted through the Word–God

{Genesis 2:7; John 1:1–18; 3:5–21; 4:14, 23–24; 6:27–65; 10; 11:25–26; 14; 17}

man creates the good, therefore, accomplishes the purposes he has been created to accomplish –

does the works of God and comes to God –

only by the Word–God – Lord Jesus Christ Who is the Truth, the Light, and the Life,

the daily Bread, wisdom, and the power of man

{Luke 21:15; John 6:33–35, 47–58; 9:5; 10; 11; 14:6–28; 15:4–6; 17}

man, who is sanctified by Lord God Jesus Christ and who observes the commandments of God,

becomes the temple of the Living God – he is a new creation by Christ and in Christ,

and the Spirit of God comes to dwell with him giving him immortality

{John 14; 15; 16; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2; Ephesians 2:4–22; 3:14–21; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; 2 Corinthians 6:16–18}

All beings constantly, with each breath, weave own life; their thoughts, words, and deeds are the threads, which they interweave into the web – the fabric of their life: they embody their thoughts in words and actions and create the actuality. When their labor comes to the end, and the fabric of their life is taken out of the frame – from the world into which they were born, what do they bring to their Creator and which kind of patterns they leave for those who come next? In the eyes of God, will be their life the masterpiece of the good or the worn out dirty cloth of the evil unable to pass the test by the Fire {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 4:1–40; 28; 29; 30; Isaiah 10:17; Malachi 3:2; Luke 12:49; John 3:16–21; 14:1–24; 15:1–16; 1 Corinthians 3:11–20; Hebrews 12}? If it is just the fog of darkness and dirty piece of evil, will be any hope left?

And I think of the answer of God to the prayers of His creations – the one through whom the Law was given and the one who was a shepherd boy, yet, became the king of Israel:

– reveal Thyself to me; so, I would see–comprehend that I would cognize Thee; so I would find favor before Thee {Exodus 33:13, 18}

– obliterate my iniquities… wash me and I shall become whiter than snow… remove not Thy Holy Spirit from me… for with Thee is the fountain of life, in Thy light do I see the light; extend Thy mercy to those who know Thee, and Thy righteousness to the upright in heart {Psalm 50(51):7–12; 35(36):9–10}.

God answered with giving the Light of creation and knowledge of the everlasting life. Since, the ones, who come to Him through faith in His Son, Lord Jesus Christ – the Word–God, who worship Him in spirit in truth, and who observe His commandments, know that

their sins are annihilated

they are reconciled to God

they are made anew by the Word–God

{cf. in: John 1:1–18; 3:1–21, 31–36; 4:23–24; 6:28–69; 8; 9:1–7, 39–41; 10:1–38; 11; 12; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17;

James; 1 Peter; 2 Peter; 1 John; Ephesians}.

So, all should have hope that God hears their prayers and will help them in the time of affliction and despair, as He helped the ancient king whose story became an example of persistence of the creation and mercy of the Creator…

The Good Shepherd

…the words of the wise are as goads and as firmly fastened nails;

they are given from One Shepherd for unification into completeness…

{Ecclesiastes 12:11}

…I am the Good Shepherd and I know those who are Mine,

and I am known by the ones that are Mine…

…My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me.

And I give eternal life to them…

{John 10:14, 27–28}

In the Past of the Old Testament, Ecclesiastes said: the words/reasons of the wise are as goads and as placed firmly fastened nails; they are given from One Shepherd for unification into completeness {Λογοι σοφων ως τα βουκεντρα, και ως ηλοι πεφυτευμενοι, οι παρα των συνθεματων εδοθησαν εκ ποιμενος ενοςEcclesiastes 12:11}*1*.

Ecclesiastes, who was the king in Jerusalem and finished his career as the apostate*2*, with his materialistic outlook of the famous leader of the great nation {3 Kings 3:9; 4; 5; 8; 9; 10; 11}, envisions God as a shepherd who assembles bulls into one flock using a goad to force them to move in the right direction. The goad – a tool, which urges bulls/animals to assemble themselves into the flock – the unit that moves according to the will of the shepherd, is likened to the words/reasons of the wise. The words/reasons (intentions/plans) of the wise are envisioned as stimulus/drive/force to propel (a goad is a tool to propel), which could be applied for arrangement of either a flock of bulls/animals or an assembly of the counselors*1*. Additional mentioning of the placed firmly fastened nails (that prevent disintegration of a construction) emphasizes that these words/reasons are for the forceful synthesis as the way of creating the wholeness.

In the New Testament, the Good Shepherd – Lord Jesus Christ, the Word–God, collects His sheep into one flock and leads them into His place where they have food and shelter and protection from the predators. However, this time, there is no coercion: there is no earthly force of coercion applied through tools intended to propel the herd to move in the direction chosen by the Shepherd. He is One with God the Creator Who sent Him, and He came to save His creations and to give them abundant and eternal life: He places His soul for redemption of His Own ones {John 10:1–30}.

How then, He, Who is the Word–God, Αγια Σοφια – the Holy Wisdom of God, collects and leads them, those who are His Own and who seek the Kingdom of God? He speaks to them; they listen to His words – the words of truth, and they freely, by their own will, choose freedom and life. Then, these words ignite faith – vision and guide of the firstfruit of creations of God – and assemble them into a new nation: the nation of priests and sons of the Almighty God {John 6:68–69; 8:31–36; 10:1–30; 17:8; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:1–25; 2:9–10, 25; 2 Corinthians 5:7, 17; Galatians 3:23–26; Ephesians}.

In the time of Moses – the time of the Old Testament, the manifestation of Glory of God was given to all who were taken out of physical slavery in Egypt {Exodus 24:16–17}: to the righteous ones for encouragement and steadfastness in faith, to the sinners for understanding that the power of God is infinite and unlimited, and that repentance followed with abstaining from the evil would lead to survival now, at the earth, and then, to the eternal life.

Through revelations given to the prophets, God guided and sustained His people. They learned to live by the words of God {Deuteronomy 8:3; Luke 4:4}, by knowledge that the Glory of God will be seen (manifested), and all flesh will see salvation of God, for the Lord has spoken {Isaiah 40:5}.

So, the prophet mentions three correlated events {Isaiah 40:5}: the Lord has spoken, the Glory of God will be manifested, and all flesh will see the Glory of God.

Therefore, again, as in the beginning,

                                                                        God has spoken His Word and Glory is manifested His will is accomplished

                                                                        {Genesis 1; John 1:1–18; 11:25, 40–44; 13:31–32; 14:6–11; 17:1–5, 22–26}.

So, what, in fact, God promised to His chosen ones, and what they expected? What revelation of the Creator gives His creations?

In the contemporary terms, it might be said that the presence of God initiates evolution–development of His creations.

The first stage of evolution began with the revelation of the Eternal Law of God given through man – Moses {Exodus; Leviticus; Deuteronomy; Psalm 118(119)}. During the first stage, a human being has to learn to observe the Law of God, which was written on the stone tablets, and to confirm his understanding with physical actions in compliance with the Ten Commandments, as well as with the laws of Moses. He also has to comprehend that a human being lives not by bread only: he lives by each word coming from God {Deuteronomy 8:3; Luke 4:4}.

The last stage of the earthly evolution is completed through revelation of God the Father and carrying out His will, which are accomplished by His Son – the Word–God, through Whom the creations come to their Creator and enter His everlasting Kingdom {Psalm 101(102):25–28; 111(112); Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:17–18; Luke 16:17; John  1:1–18; 6:37–58; 10:14–18, 27–38; 11:25; 14; 15; 16; 17; 1 Peter 1:1–25}.

The second stage of evolution is the transformation–evolution of a human spirit that has to become the temple of God built on the precious Corner–Stone – the Word–God, Who came according to the Law/will of God. Firstly, a human being has to learn how to comply with the unchangeable eternal law of God {that is to observe commandments of God – John 14:15–26}. If he is successful in his endeavors to accomplish the will of God, he might be transformed into the likeness of the Word–God: the embodiment of the Law – Λογος, the Universal Code of creation. The essence – the soul–spirit–heart–mind [[theologians, philosophers, researchers use different definitions for the same phenomenon – the essence of man created into the image and after likeness of God: heart, soul, mind; in the contemporary and most simplified terms, which I use in my postings, it is “the mind”*3*]] – of such a being might be envisioned as the living indestructible spiritual stone created after the Word–God on Whom the kingdom of God is built: he is born of God as the immortal human child of God the Spirit, and he is an imitation of the Absolute Good and Love of God {Matthew 5:17–20, 38–48; Luke 16:17; John 1:1–14; 3:1–21, 31–36; 4:23–24; 6:63, 68–69; 13:34–35; 14; 17; James 1:17–25; 1 Peter 1; 2:4–10; 1 John; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians}.

This stage of evolution – the evolution of the human spirit – might be completed by the one who freely chose eternity with God. This one is a human being who

                                    freely chooses to accept God in his soul–heart–mind, to answer His love, to follow Him,

                                    and to imitate His perfection, mercy, and Love –

                                    all that is the Absolute Good of God is freely accepted by His creation and becomes the Absolute Good of man

                                                        ↓

                                    by the Word–God is redeemed from the power of the evil, sin, and death,

                                    and is created anew in Christ and after Christ

                                                        ↓

                                    learns to love the others as God loves him

                                                        ↓

                                    learns to be free as God is free, because he worship God in spirit and truth

                                    (through acceptance of the Word–God and the Holy Spirit sent in His Name),

                                    and because he loves as God loves.

At this stage of development, a human being comprehends the meaning of true freedom – freedom of the human spirit that is living by His Creator and is following his Creator. This freedom is the power to identify the good and the evil, to choose the good, to abstain from the evil and sin, and to create the good in the world that

a/ serves the evil

b/ accommodates sins and failures

c/ bestows bewilderment, confusion, spiritual and material poverty, misery, and suffering on its inhabitants.

As the Apostles write, Christians should not cover the deeds of the evil by freedom that they obtain because they became the slaves of God, the creation of God in Christ the Savior and Overseer of souls, and because they carry the Spirit of God within: where the Spirit of God is, there is freedom {1 Peter 2:1–25; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Ephesians 1; 2}.

How then, a human being who from the moment of birth until the moment of death is accommodated within the multilayered hierarchies – prisons of body and mind, and restrictions built by the centuries of religious persecutions and terror of the Inquisition as well as by the countless political and social establishments invented by the leaders who chased the phantom of the absolute power, and who is enslaved and coerced by multitudes of political, religious, social, and other establishments, can find freedom and learn what does it mean – to be free?

Indeed, the very nature of the world of the structured matter and material things makes expectations of freedom illogical. Only spiritual freedom, which elevates a human spirit above the material considerations and restrictions of the temporal limited world, and which therefore sets a human being free from the power of sin and the evil, from the obligation and desire to inflict evil, suffering, unhappiness onto the others is the true freedom that the one might be empowered to obtain {cf.: John 8: 31–47}.

How then, a human being placed within the world of the material things can obtain spiritual freedom?

While a human being remains the unity of the soul–mind–body (or spirit–flesh, or energy–information–matter) living at the earth, within the world of the matter, only the human soul–heart–mind that carries Λογος, the Word–God, and that therefore, lives by the Spirit of God, is able to perceive the presence of God Who is the Spirit {John 4:24}. According to the will of God, by the actions of the Word–God, the act of redemption of man is consummated {John 19:28–30}, and “the flesh” – the temporal structured matter that is man without God – is enabled to perceive the presence of God, to accept the Holy Spirit, and to become the dwelling–temple of God.

Then, as the Apostles explain, the mortal is consumed by the Immortal, and the children of God comprehend their true nature, establish themselves to abide in the perfect law of liberty, strengthen their inner essence in the Spirit of God, are filled with fullness of God, and recognize themselves in their Creator {James 1:25; 1 John 3:1–2; 1 Corinthians 15:42–55; 2 Corinthians 5:4–5; Ephesians 3:14–21; 4:20–24}.

Therefore, the meaning of spiritual freedom might be envisioned as the discovery of God within own soul–heart–mind and consequent understanding that with God everything is possible, starting with freedom from the power of the evil and sin and finishing with obtaining everlasting life in the presence of God {e.g., in: Mark 10:23–27; John 8:31–36; 14; 15; 17}.

Therefore, the Christianity unfolds as

a/ universal liberation of all who are thirsty for freedom, justice, and righteousness

b/ redemption of man from the power of sin and death

c/ comprehension and acceptance of the Divine Perfect Love – the Word–God Who has saved the world

d/ understanding that Lord God Jesus Christ created the new world through incarnation of the Spirit of Living God by the human nature, and through transforming man into the living temple–dwelling of God.

Since, salvation is possible and the Eternity is open to anyone

                                                who embraces own nature created into the image and after likeness of God

                                                                ↓

                                                who adheres to the law of Love (love to God and love to the neighbors)

                                                                ↓

                                                who transforms own heart–mind into the temple of Living God.

In summary, the purpose of the earthly stage of human evolution is accomplished, if, within the temporal structured mater created to participate in some cycle of energy transformation and to be dissolved (to become the “food of death,” to disintegrate), the new being created by the Word–God and living by the Holy Spirit of God comes to life because the Word–God, as the precious seal {John 6:27; Song 8:6}, is engraved, imprinted into the soul–heart–mind of this new creation: through the Word–God, this new creation is enabled to live forever in the presence of God {John 1; 3; 6; 10; 14; 17; James 1:17–18, 21–25; Revelation 21:1–5; 22:1–5}.

Consequently, the one who learns and accepts the Christian teachings, understands that for imposing life, wisdom, and the law of the eternity onto His creations, the Good Shepherd of the New Testament – Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word–God, does not need “tools,” for instance, such as the “curses” for violation of the law {e.g., in: Deuteronomy 27:9–26; 28:15–68; 29:19–20; 30:15–20}, judges, courts, elders, councils, hierarchies, public opinions, propaganda wars, all the “goads” and “firmly placed nails,” with which the “wise leaders” arrange their subjects into the units ready to pursue their purposes, as well as other devices by which men control those who are within their reach. The time of force (e.g., the laws of Moses that punished the apostates and those who violated The Ten Commandments through judgments and actions – punishment, execution) has gone.

The time of harvest is close {Matthew 13:24–30, 36–43; Mark 4:26–29; John 4:34–38; Revelation 14:14–16}; the violations of the law accumulated during history of civilization came before the Light, and nothing besides the will of God can save the world from the consequences of the evil actualized in the past. However, for each human being, the path to salvation still is open: God revealed His love to His creations and gave them the ultimate freedom – to choose life with Him or eternal separation from Him. His voice – the conscience – is within each human soul: He speaks, and His creation listens to the voice of the Creator, does the works of God, accomplishes His will, and enters life everlasting {cf.: John 6:28–29; 10:130; 14:12–28; 15:1–17; 17:3–9, 21–26}.

Now each human being freely decides his own destiny: either to follow God or do not follow God; his own decision is his own judgment. Contrary to blasphemous doctrines and practices of the heretics whose “tools” include Crusades and the Inquisition and who transformed Christianity into the inescapable prison under the authority of the pope – the mortal man who pretends on the power to influence the after–life destiny of human soul*4*, Christianity does not punish the apostates, sinners, and violators of the commandments of God: they themselves issue their judgment and execute it. When they reject the words of God, they leave the Light of God, and vanish into the darkness: the moment of acceptance or rejection of the Word–God is the moment of judgment {cf.: Luke 11:35; John 3:17–21; 5:21–30; 8:12, 23–25, 50–51; 12:44–50}.

The time came for each of us: the time to use all personal abilities, strengths, and powers to embody the decision to follow Lord God Jesus Christ into the actuality of life, sometimes in opposition to the entire surrounding – family, friends, neighbors, co–workers, and the others. The Kingdom of God is taken by force, through the hard work, continuous efforts, and spiritual battle with the one’s very own weakness, doubts, temptations, firstly, the temptation to choose the easy way. The Kingdom of God is the precious prize that the winner obtains in the war with the evil, and so difficult and terrifying this war is that even the closest relatives and friends might become enemies and traitors {cf.: Matthew 7:13–14; 10:26–39; 11:12; 24:4–13; Mark 13:5–13; Luke 21:16–18; John 15:18–27; 16:1–3; Revelation 21:7–8; Isaiah 9:18–21}.

Furthermore, Christianity has no secrets and no mysteries {John 18:19–21}: it is the open book of guidance for those who have chosen to follow its Author – the Word–God. Christianity appeals not to the curiosity of the mind that seeks secret knowledge in the fog of human imagination and myths invented by groups/sects/elites/orders in attempts to elevate themselves over all the others and to assume the advantages and rights, to which the others (those who do not share membership in the group/sect/elite/order) are not entitled.

The wisdom of the Christianity is the Αγια Σοφια – the Word–God, Λογος, Who is the most precious treasure and unconditional love of a Christian, and through Whom all that exists came into the being: this Wisdom is the everlasting life given freely to all who longs for life; this Wisdom appeals to the human soul–heart–mind that perceives the call of God as the lost sheep hears the voice of the Good Shepherd {Matthew 15:24;  18:11–14; John 10:27–30; Psalm 118(119):176}. As the lost sheep hears the voice of the Good Shepherd and runs to Him, similarly, the soul–heart–mind

a/ recognizes the Word–God as the very own God and Teacher and Creator and Overseer, as the very own life, as the very own essence, as the very own image in the mirror

b/ clings to Him to obtain freedom from the evil and sin and everlasting life

c/ follows Him Who seeks the lost helpless and hopeless ones and Who leads all into the house of the Father {cf.: Luke 15:4–7; John 6:27–69; 8:31–36; 10:1–30; 14; 15; 17; 1 Peter 2:25; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18}.

Christian teachings has the universal appeal, because it is revelation of Almighty Omnipotent God the Creator of all and everything, because it is adequate to the original human nature created after the image and in likeness of God, because in the spiritual world of the true follower of Christ

                                                above interests, values, life, health, and happiness of those who do not have access to the power of coercion

                                                {e.g., in: Matthew 23:8–12; 24:7–13; Mark 9:33–37; 10:42–45; Luke 9:23–26, 51–56; 14:1–35; 15:1–32;

                                                John 1:1–14; 3:5–6, 16–21; 4:23–24; 6; 8; 10; 14; 15; 16; 17;

                                                James 1:12–27; 1 Peter 1; 2; 4; 1 John; Romans 6:1–23; 8:35–39; Galatians 3:26–29;

                                                2 Thessalonians 2; Malachi 3:17–18}.

In summary, Christianity is freedom – the ultimate freedom that could open to anyone who sees beyond the hierarchies and force of coercion: the spiritual freedom from the evil – the freedom that can be obtained only with God the Spirit. The one obtains this freedom through the Word–God – the Source of wisdom, truth, light, and life of man {cf.: John 1:1–4, 9–18; 4:24; 9:4–5; 14:6; 17:3; Romans 6:14–17; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 3:23–28}.

So,

                                                                        in the Old Testament,

                                                                        Ecclesiastes envisioned the tool/drive conveyed through the words/reasons of the wise

                                                                        and forcing animals toward unity of the one flock

                                                                        in the New Testament,

                                                                        the soul–heart–mind comes freely to the Wisdom – the Word–God,

                                                                        rejects the evil–ignorance–death, chooses the good–wisdom–life,

                                                                        and joins Christ becoming His likeness and, as such, a child of God.

What, then, has to be changed within the human heart–mind, so the coercive power of the law would become freedom? Into what the human heart–mind has to evolve with the knowledge of the law of God – the Law that defines the human nature {Mark 12:28–34; Luke 10:25–37}?

It should be something within the soul–heart–mind that enables man to perceive the Word–God. Indeed, Solomon wrote of the precious seal on the heart of man; St. Paul the Apostle sees the letters of Christ written on the flashy tablets of the heart; St. James the Apostle discloses the results of transformation: the one looks into the Word–God and in Him, sees own reflection similarly to the one who sees himself in the mirror; then, if the one accepts the divine law of freedom and abides in it, he is blessed in his endeavors. St. John the Apostle completes the explanation: the children of God will be similar to God, and after the new beginning, those, who enter eternal life with God, will carry His name {Song 8:6;  James 1:18, 21–25; 1 John 2:1–25; 3:3–4, 6; 5:11–12; 2 Corinthians 3:3, 17–18; Revelation 7:14–17; 21:3–7; 22:1–7}.

When St. Paul the Apostle explains the Christian teachings, he mentions transformation of the mortal and corruptible and creation of a new being in Christ and by Christ – by the Word–God {1 Corinthians 15:53–58; 2 Corinthians 3; Ephesians}. This transformation might be envisioned as three interconnected acts:

– the Word of God is inscribed or engraved into the heart of man

– through Lord Jesus Christ Who is the image of God, the heart is completed–sealed with the Love of God that empowers it to perceive and to comprehend the Glory of God

– similarly to the precious stone made and engraved with the writing of God, the heart becomes the tablets of covenant, which is inseparable from Word–God in life and in death as the engraved letters of the Law were inseparable from the original stone tables of testimony that God made for Moses {Exodus 31:18; 32:15–19; John 17; Romans 8:35–39; }.

Since, the Christians carry God within: the Word–God becomes the essence of each living soul – He lives, and everyone who lives by Him has the eternal life {John 1:1–4, 9–14; 3:5–7, 16–19, 36; 6; 8:31–36; 11:25–26; 14; 17; James 1:18, 21; 1 John 2:1–10; 3:3–4; 5:11–12; Romans 8:35–39; 2 Corinthians 3:3; Revelation 7:14–17; 21:3–6; 22:1–6}:

Lord God Jesus Christ, the Word–God, is the precious seal, the Code of the immortality

imprinted on the human soul–heart–mind

||

He is the Alpha and the Omega,

the Beginning and the End, the Source of eternal life

||

through Him, the mortal creature of dust and the food of the evil

is cleansed of evil

is enlightened by the Light of God and set free by the knowledge of Truth

becomes the Christ’s letter inscribed by the Spirit of the Living God

is transformed into the dwelling of the Living God, and abides in Love of God

receives the authority to be a child of God, who is born of God,

and who shall live in the presence of God forever.

In conclusion, the one could envision the last phase of evolution, which the human heart has to undergo within the world of the matter, as the process, during which the Word of God, Λογος, is written into the heart – spiritual essence of a human being*3*. If the Word–God – the Perfect Love, as the last and precious seal, is engraved into the human mind, He transforms it into the living proof of the new covenant between God and His creation. The end of evolution comes when God’s writing on the “fleshy tablets” of human heart–mind completes and perfects it, thus, prepares it for the kingdom of God {this is in Luke 17:21: “the kingdom of God is within you” – η Βασιλεια του Θεου εντος υμων εστιν}.

The referred above texts from the Holy Scriptures reveal the essence of the process of transformation of the law into the freedom: after the Word–God becomes the essence of the human soul–heart–mind, He gives wisdom to discern the good and the evil and to accomplish the good, He sets a human being free from the slavery of the evil and death, and empowers him to comprehend the unity of the Law and the Power and the Wisdom as One Wholeness, Who is Life and Light and Truth and Way of man: the Perfect Love of the Almighty Omnipotent Free God by Whom all His creations come into existence, obtain freedom, cognize love of God, and evolve into the immortal children of God.

The first step on the way into eternity with God is made when the mind opens itself for wisdom given by God; this Wisdom is the Word–God coming through faith in Lord Jesus Christ and observance of His commandments. With coming of Lord God Jesus Christ, the mind receives access to God the Father, the Source of Wisdom that surpasses incomparably wisdom of all the wise men, especially of the “wise kings” who rely on the power of coercion, weapons, armies, and hierarchical establishments to embody their reasons into daily life of their subjects.

And I think how the mind of man comes to comprehension of the wisdom that leads him to God? The Wisdom of God is not “wisdom” of men, which can be learned in textbooks and studied in educational, political, and religious institutions.

“Wisdom” of man is in survival of the flesh, in the ability to protect human bodies and human establishments (the material structures/systems) from disorder, collapse, and disintegration until they accomplish the purposes for which they have been arranged. This wisdom demands use of logic, force, coercion, weapons, persuasion, structures of power, establishments, buildings for accommodation of prisons, educational institutions, and other things, with which a human beings are assembled into the herd following the leaders.

To the contrary, the Wisdom of God opens the eternity for a person – an individual human being, with his Creator. Into this eternity with God, none of the material things enters, and the very meaning of this eternity with God is incomprehensible for those who live only by senses and values of the material things – those who do not perceive the presence of God {Isaiah 6:9–10; Matthew 13:14–15; John 12:37–41}.

Within the reality of our daily live, the world of the material things, the first step into the immaterial realm – the kingdom of God the Spirit begins with the Holy Scriptures that all are about Christ {cf. in: John 5:39–47; 1 Corinthians 10:1–4}. When the one opens the Holy Book with a desire to obtain eternal life*6 *, he opens his heart–mind for the Word–God. Then, on the tablets of his soul–heart–mind, the Αγια Σοφια – Holy Wisdom of God, the Word–God – writes His letters and imprints His seal {John 6:27; Revelation 22:1–5}: the Code of the Immortality…

Sunday’s Thoughts by Alice–Alexandra–Sofia

*1* Λογοι σοφων ως τα βουκεντρα, και ως ηλοι πεφυτευμενοι, οι παρα των συνθεματων εδοθησαν εκ ποιμενος ενος {Ecclesiastes 12:11}, where

Λογοι – pl. of Λογος – words, reasons

a/ βουκεντραgoad (spiked stick used to direct cattle; stimulus) is derivative of words with more than one meaning:

1/ either βουςox, bull, or βουλεadvice, counsel, purpose, will; with primary βουλομαιbe willing, be disposed, be minded, and such a noteworthy derivative as βουλευτηςa counselor (later, a member of Jewish Sanhedrin)

κεντρονpoint, sting; divine impulse

b/συνθεματων – a derivative of two words:

συν  – a primary word denoting union; in composition, gives also meaning of completeness

θεμελο (or θεμελιωση) – to lay foundation, establish; institute; consolidate; the word is related to the cluster of derivatives from ancient θεω  – to run (not as sprint or race) or θεοcomplete, as the root of words defining Θεος  – God; the word conveys meaning of creation–establishment

In summary, ancient συνθεματων conveys the meaning close to contemporary συνθεσηsynthesis, connection, putting together, linking, composing, creating a wholeness/system.

c/ εδοθησαν  – given, distributed, arranged; the word is derivative of εδοθην give, distribute, arrange distribution (δινω  διδω  εδοθην).

Therefore, Ecclesiastes/Solomon speaks of the words/reasons (intentions/plans) of the wise as of stimulus/drive/force (a goad as a tool to propel an animal), which could be applied for arrangement either a flock of bulls or an assembly of counselors; Solomon asserts that these words are for synthesis–creating a wholeness and they are given/distributed from the One Shepherd.

*3*   Concept of the human mind [adaptation from The Invincible Empire]

…A human being is a function of the divine creative energy of God, the wholeness that exists at three levels or dimensions: the spirit–soul, the mind–reason–creator of thoughts, and the flesh–body–matter. The breath–spirit–energy of God creates the spirit–soul–mind of man. In theological terms, the soul of man would obtain the eternal life in the presence of God if it is born of the Spirit of God by the great mercy of God and through the faith in Lord God Jesus Christ becomes the likeness of the Word–God {Genesis 2:7; Ecclesiastes 12:7; John 1:12–13; 3:3–7; James 1:18–25; 1 Peter 1:3–5; 1 John 4:7; 5:1–13; 2 Corinthians 3:18}. It means that the essence spirit–soul–heart–mind of a human being [[further, the mind]] might be empowered to exist through the eternity, if it is created by the Divine energy of the immortal God. If the mind is created by the Divine energy, it might be empowered to perceive the presence of God, to recognize God as the Source of own existence and as the Absolute Good, to obey His commandments recognizing them as the reflection of the Absolute Law, to imitate His mercy, perfection, and love, and to embody His words into the actuality of own existence.

The mind has the special purpose: with the power of thoughts, the mind has to arrange fulfillment of the universal law of perfection, which is the Universal Law of creation. The mind is designed to create the good: to optimize the existing systems, realities, and establishments, and to create new systems, which would facilitate the development and optimization–evolution – its own and the world given into its dominion.

Theologians, philosophers, and researchers invented many definitions for the mind–intellect–heart–soul–spirit, mostly, as for the different facets of a human being. For instance, in the theological sense,

–– the heart is the spiritual center of man – the temple, in which the Divine is united with the human

–– the intellect – νους – is the “eye of heart” or the faculty of contemplation, by which man perceives God and learns the knowledge given by God

–– the intelligence/reason/mind – διανοια – is the operating faculty of the intellect

–– the reasoning or the faculty of deliberation – γνωμαφρονημαλογισμος – is the center responsible for logic, conceptualization, and discourse – all the functions, which manifest the main human ability – intelligence/reasoning – within the world of the structured matter, through purposeful behavior, actions, words, and so on.

 If to follow the general theological–philosophical–epistemological classification, the soul might be described as the energy entity, which absorbs the divine energy of creation and ultimately, transforms it into the core, or seed, or code, or pattern of thought. The created core–code–pattern is examined by another component of soul – by the conscience, also known as “the voice of God within the heart”; the conscience is responsible for the distinction between good and evil and the choice of good. The functions of conscience are similar to the functions of a censor and editor: it would (or would not) admit a particular thought in the consciousness where it becomes ready to be conveyed to the others or to be embodied into establishments and other creations of man. Those who violated the Law of God “make silent”/destroy own conscience, therefore, they become unable of discerning good and evil. Silencing of destruction of conscience makes possible further sins–violations of the commandments of God: the people become able to commit crimes against God and against men. The conscience defines the nature of knowledge, which a human being learns – would it be true or false, his general attitude toward the others and the world, and many other things which constitute the meaning of life, including methods and ways to apply the knowledge of the good and the evil toward achievement of the purposes within the human establishments.

In summary, the theologians include into the essence of a human being

            –– the soul

            –– the deep cognitive structures; these structures form the body of knowledge on which a particular mind builds the foundation for own reasoning

            –– the intellect, intelligence, and reason responsible for adequacy of behavior to the Law and purposes of God, and to the actuality, therefore, ultimately, for physical survival of man and his creations, for instance, such as society, empire, business enterprise

            –– the other components, consideration of which is beyond this observation.

Ultimately, precise theological distinctions (e.g., between the intellect and the heart) have no consequence for the current observation. The contemporary word mind, which denotes intelligence, reasoning, intellect, psyche, awareness, and other phenomena within the same logical realm – core of the human nature, is accepted as the general term for identification of the essence of a human being.

Consequently, the concept of mind is based on the following assumptions:

– a human being is the wholeness serving the purposes of God. Our God is God of knowledge – He grants wisdom, and His presence creates knowledge and intelligence. Nothing is possible without wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge: human being lives by the Word of God, and God is life of human soul–heart–spirit–mind {Deuteronomy 8:3; 1 Kings 2:3; Proverbs 2:6; Matthew 4:4; John 6:32–35, 48–51}

– the essence of man created in image and after likeness of God exists and operates according to its nature only if it has the connection with God, through which the energy of life comes: at the level of human mind, the divine energy becomes the universal energy sustaining the reality of man or mankind’s universe

– the purposes of man include fulfillment of the will–Law of God, and embodiment of the knowledge of God into thoughts and actions within the settings (e.g., the Earth) given to exploit according to the purposes of God.

With the limited language of philosophical–logical observation, or in the terms of systems logic, it might be said that the mind is the main subsystem of the wholeness (human being), or the controlling center responsible for

            –– the transformation of the divine energy of creation into human thought, and therefore initiation and accomplishment of the evolution of the world given into dominion of man

            –– all thinking and cognitive processes

            –– the control and determination of behavior that secures survival and evolution – own as well as the world that it controls or is empowered to influence

            –– the strategy of survival, development, and optimization–evolution of the human establishments (e.g., families, societies, states, nations, etc).

In fact, nobody is able to prove exact location and describe functions of the center, which determines life of the mind. Only one thing is known: until a human being lives, he is the inseparable three–fold (three–dimensional, or existing at three levels of complexity) unity of energy, energy–information, and energy–information–matter, or the soul–mind–body, or the spirit–intellect–flesh. Therefore, the term mind might be correlated with all processes, which – although they could remain out of focus of the consciousness – embody the divine energy of creation into human thoughts, maintain the consciousness, and determine words and actions of men. Whatever the general definitions are selected, the real meaning is the same. If the human soul–essence–heart–mind is focused on God and observes His Law, it becomes the derivative or function of the Spirit of God within the material world –– the dwelling–carrier of the Word of God. Such mind receives the knowledge from God, lives by God, and serves only God {John 1:12–13; 3:3–7; 4:24; 14:12, 15–18, 23–26; 15:1–5; 1 Peter 1:3–5; James 1:18; 1 John 4:7; 5:1–13; Genesis 2:7; Ecclesiastes 12:7; Isaiah 48:16–17; Psalm 15(16):7–11; 31(32):7–8}. Those who are called by God, who long for wisdom and knowledge of life, have no other way to God except through the Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ {John 6:44; 7:39; 14:6}. Nothing else matters.

The contemporary researchers offer the vast range of definitions – from poetic to scientific, and from mechanical to supernatural; one of them names the mind the “greatest mystery in the Universe” [McCrone 288].

There are attempts to cognize the mind and its abilities through studies of different personalities and classification of their thinking processes and social activities. For example, Magoroh Maruyama (Japan) believes in existence of “mindscapes” (supported with the data collected by Professor O. J. Harvey [Maruyama, in: Mindscapes: the Epistemologies...xviii]). In his definition, mindscape is “a structure of reasoning” and other thinking processes including cognition, conceptualization, etc.; the patterns of thinking processes, cognitive and social activities, philosophy, and moralities determine a type of mindscape [Maruyama 7].

Evidently, the “mindscape” studies target the precision of social forecasting and manageability of citizens, which might be facilitated with knowledge of their “mindscapes.”

Some researchers admit such abilities of the mind as manipulation of time, telepathy, and psychokinesis. They publish results of their research in science fiction or popular genre, make them the subject of “revelations” given by the benevolent aliens to the ignorant humans, or cover with fictional settings and simplified language of the official sciences the bits and pieces of their findings, which are left after eliminating all references to the Creator.

For instance, there is an assertion that summary of electromagnetic, anthropological, quantum–mechanical, and holographic models describes the mind as a biological transceiver that

–– works with geophysical, seismic, infrasonic waves

–– transforms information transmitted through frequency and amplitude in the sensory information

–– interacts with the energy at the quantum – wave – level (therefore, accesses the Future and the Past simultaneously)

–– is able to arrange–order the chaos of the Universe [e.g., Alexander, Groller, and Morris 111].

Logically, the instant inference would be the questions: who created such a universal transceiver, for which purposes, how the Creator supports it, and how to sustain the normal work and optimal performance of this unique entity endowed with such a power?

However, for the ethics–free sciences there is more important field of research: destruction – WMD, enslaving, profiteering, and so on. Besides, the technique of modeling with its limited language of description is not adequate to actual complexity of the considered phenomenon, which in the case of human mind, has the complexity incompatible with the measures utilized to evaluate the matter and with the techniques utilized to formalize the results of evaluation. As always, any kind of research conducted at inadequate levels of complexity is pointless.

The general public is deprived of the knowledge of actual results of research into the mind, which do not conform to the politically correct darwinist–atheist models of ethics–free biomedical and sociological sciences. The researchers who consider the human mind as it is – the creation of the Omnipotent Almighty God, those who accept existence of the direct link between God and His creation–human being  –– the connection with God that determines the logical reality in which the mind exists and accomplishes the purposes of existence, have neither support nor recognition. They are labeled as bigots, fanatics, or illiterate novices in the Western societies, and as mentally sick individuals in the countries under communists and other oppressive regimes, which serve the phantom of absolute power, therefore which are under the tyranny of deified criminals. All kinds of the contemporary societies know the plague of political and religious leaders who put ideologies at the place of the faith in God and utilize their power for denigration, enslaving, and robbery of men. The reason of existing this plague is assumption that exclusion of the knowledge of actual human nature facilitates the struggle for “absolute” power:

–– tell human being that he is a child of God, and it would not be possible to make him unreserved servant of another man, assassin, liar, betrayer, and thief

–– persuade man that there is no God, that he has no soul, and that he is an animal – the beast that must kill other beasts to attain the means for own existence, and the human beast will do anything: kill, betray, deceive, steal, and so on.

The most dangerous ideologies are those, which recognize existence of some deity–idol and cover with its name own earthly purposes: all such ideologies disseminate false knowledge and, therefore, accelerate degeneration. They tell, for instance, that an earthly leader (usually, deified) has a direct connection with God, which is not open to all the others; that only unreserved obedience to this earthly deity–substitute for God leads to the earthly or heavenly paradise. The others make God the author of their own inhumane laws and figments of sick imagination (e.g., “theological” justification of the papal Inquisition), which demand assassination, suffering, human sacrifice, and fear–induced unreserved obedience of the majority. Ultimately, all ideologies and false religions trigger uncontrollable collapse of the establishments, which they control.

Three axioms of the systems logic should be considered before any classification or inferences concerning the still unknown essence of mind and nature of thinking, especially when such studies might have definite social consequences.

1. All minds have the same – universal – design or the pattern of creation: the image and likeness of God. Therefore, all minds can achieve the same level of complexity (which at least mirrors complexity of the Universe), the same limitless abilities of cognition and creation, the same patterns of thinking processes and cognitive activities. Consequently, all classifications based upon assumption of restrictions and limitations of human abilities, mathematical methods, atheistic outlook are false, moreover, dangerous. Distorted reflection of the actuality, figments of imagination, false theoretical constructions, failed social and political policies, unrest, revolutions, and crises of different scales are the common results of such classifications and evaluations. The reason of failures is also common: restricted methods of materialistic sciences dealing with the matter are not sufficient enough to be applied toward the limitless universal pattern with the highest level of complexity, which is the essence of human mind.

2. Each mind has its own mission–purpose, which constitutes a part of the supercomplex web of purposes composing the logical scheme of the Universe. Accordingly, each mind exists at the particular time–space–complexity point of the Universe as the managing subsystem of the energy–information–matter system (a human being) that must accomplish specific purposes and utilize an allotted part of available energy resources of this particular time–space–complexity point. Therefore, the only differences among minds are the purposes, which the minds have to accomplish and the resources they have to utilize. It means that until the logical scheme of the Universe becomes the open book, social and political sciences do not have the real ground for classifications of men.

3. When the mind is not able to accomplish its mission because of insufficiency of the energy–information–matter resources, it might utilize the individual strategy – either strategy of survival or strategy of self–annihilation; in this case, the general theoretical assumptions concerning predictability of behavior might be inadequate.

From the theological point of view, only free will, the actions made by free choice, and the results distinguish one human being from other human beings. The chosen disposition (love to God or rejection of God) and achieved degree of optimization (or perfection – imitation of God) or degeneration (perversion of original nature following violation of the Ten Commandments – the Law of God, the Law which defines the nature of man and stipulates behavior consistent with the human nature) prepares the human being either for the purposes of God or for annihilation. St. Gregory Palamas’ assertion that God dwells in His creations “in different and varied ways” correlated with their “worthiness and way of life” provides the ground for comprehension of complexity as correlation with the divine creative energy [St. Gregory Palamas (1983) 83; (1988) §91, §93, §95 189–197]. Yet, the measure or evaluation of others’ “worthiness” – judgment – is not the business of men {Matthew 7:1–5}.

With the generalized – systems – terms, it might be said that to achieve its purposes, each system/reality has to exist within the specified set of the energy fields and to be able of “reading” the universal code and its derivatives at the particular levels of complexity. Such “reading” tunes up all system life–supporting processes and makes the system able to accept and to materialize the universal energy – transform it into the energy–information and energy–information–matter. The process of reading the universal code is irreversible; some results of this reading are known as knowledge.

Consequently, the existence of mind within the time–space–complexity settings might be defined as the unity of three processes – cognition, creation of knowledge, and materialization, or embodiment of the created knowledge into the material structures:

            –– the mind perceives/accepts the divine creative energy; this process results in cognition, or transformation of the divine energy into the universal energy, which the mind needs to operate within the world of matter

            –– the mind transforms the universal energy (cognition) into the energy–information form – thought (creation of knowledge)

            –– the mind transforms the created thought (materializes the created knowledge) into the energy–information–matter (or into a spoken or written word, theory, concept, book, corporation, other system within the particular time–space–complexity realities, for instance, such as the society, state, business enterprise).

The law of irreversibility of cognition controls the dimension of time; without irreversibility of cognition, the optimization and development as the increase of mind’s complexity (the increase of complexity is the evolution) are not possible. The time might be seen as the setting, framework, reality controlled with the law of irreversibility, which directs all transformations of the universal energy toward an increase of complexity.

The law of irreversibility of cognition defines connection of the human mind, knowledge, complexity, and time–space into the inseparable wholeness oriented toward an increase of complexity. Within this wholeness,

            –– the mind is the energy field, which transforms the universal energy into the energy ready to produce or re–structure the matter

            –– the knowledge is the manifestation/derivative of complexity at the levels of the matter

            –– complexity is the parameters of a purposeful reality of fields that accommodates sets of transformations of the universal energy into the derivatives: energy, energy–information, and energy–information–matter forms

            –– the time–space is the structured setting or the net of fields within which the mind embodies its thoughts – energy–information forms – into energy–information–matter or the discernible and material systems and realities.

This inseparable wholeness of the mind–knowledge–complexity–time–space comprises the purposeful logical reality, which describes the world of men or the mankind’s universe. This reality also might be considered as

            –– the embodiment/derivative of the universal code at the particular level of the complexity

            –– the specific reality, which transforms the universal energy into energy–information formations–thoughts; the human thoughts are the cores of new systems and realities through which the world of the matter and its components (for instance, systems created by men – empires, societies, businesses, etc.) might be developed–optimized or destroyed

            –– the set of fields, which accommodates energy transformations and sustains the energy and energy–information flow within the mankind’s universe.

The divine energy of creation creates, sustains, and accommodates this wholeness–reality, where the mind thinks its thoughts, pursues its objectives, and develops–evolves–moves toward the maximal potency by incessant irreversible creation of knowledge. The incessant process creation of knowledge is the process of the evolution of the mankind’s universe: the mankind’s universe moves toward optimization through an increase of complexity of the specific realities – human minds.

In conclusion, the energy concept of mind developed within the systems logic framework describes a human mind as a vortex of energy originated by the divine energy of creation, and as the specific energy field created to accommodate transformation of the universal energy into energy–information that actualizes evolution (evolution or optimization might be seen also as achievement and actualization of the highest potency the system was created to realize) at the level of energy–information and energy–information–matter. The mind is the purposeful reality designed for transformation of the divine energy into the universal energy and its derivatives: at first, into an energy–information – a human thought; then, into embodiments of the thought – transferable and discernible energy–information–matter structures, systems, and realities (e.g., word, concept, book, civilization, society, state, business enterprise). The closer the mind is to its original nature–image and likeness of God the higher is degree of mind’s optimization and the higher might become its influence on the world in its discretion. Within the mankind’s universe, the uncognizable does not exist for the mind, which in compliance with the Law of God has achieved the state of optimum, or, in the theological terms, has been born of the Spirit of God {e.g., in: John 1:1–4, 9–13; 3:3–7; 4:24; 14:6–26; 15; 17; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1; 1 John 3:1–15; Ephesians; Job 32:8}.

The human mind might be seen also as the special kind of systems – the frontier system. The frontier systems are the class of systems intended to transfer the commandments of the supersystem into the language–code of the subsystem; they exist within two realms: supersystem and its component(s)–subsystem(s). The frontier systems also might be described as the boundary between the supersystem–environment and the subsystem(s) of the supersystem. Through the human mind, the divine creative energy enters the reality of mankind and becomes the universal energy that sustains existence and evolution of both types of creations: human beings and the world they have to dominate and develop. A human mind – the frontier system of the realm of God and the realm of the creations of God – accomplishes the ultimate transformations of the divine energy of creation into the human thoughts. The normal human mind that lives by the Word of God {a fruit of the Vine cultivated by God the Father – John 15:1–5}, therefore, lives according to its nature, creates thoughts with the complexity adequate to the purposes of optimization as development of the highest potency and the consequent evolution at the levels of the matter.

When people embody their thoughts into the material structures, they accomplish two processes:

–– the transformation of the universal energy into the material structures, which sustain life of men

–– an increase of complexity of the world; the increase of complexity is another definition of evolution.

The mind that violates the Law and rejects the Word of God does not bring the fruits, which God expects from His creation: such a mind accomplishes the purposes of destruction; it becomes a withered branch, because it had broken connection with God and rejected the Bread of life and the living water {John 3:5–6; 4:10–14; 6:32–35, 47–58}. The meaning of withered branch, which is mentioned in the Gospel, is inability to fulfill the will of God and accomplish the purposes a man was created to accomplish: those who reject God become incapable of creation. The withered branches are the feeding ground for perversion, degeneration, and other companions of death in the same manner as the waste is the food of rats and mice…

*4* For example, Catholic saint Birgitta declared: she received the “divine” revelation that if the pope is not a heretic, he has the absolute power to bind and loose souls. Even if the pope is sinful, vicious, and so wicked that after his death he would be condemned to hell, God confirms the pope’s “lawful acts on earth” [Birgitta ref. and qtd. in: Lea 3:641].
